Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction / InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Love knows no boundries ❯ New information ( Chapter 24 )
Naraku smiled wickedly when he looked into Kanna's magical mirror. "A ferry girl from the spirit realm? This can turn out to be really interesting." He thought and waved off the white girl. Kanna left without a word and Naraku shrugged a bit. Of all his avatars, she was the most eerie one. His thoughts trailed back to the blue haired deity. She could perhaps be of help to get that last shard that was located in the world beyond? His smile grew more evil as he thought about the soul searing pain he could cast over that filthy hanyou Inuyasha and his pain in the neck-pack. Yes, this could turn out really good for him.

Kanna walked down the hall, and when she felt safe she took a deep breath, leaning against the wall. Tiny beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. It was getting harder and harder to play that emotionless girl she once had been. But since she actually managed to get a piece of her heart back she had gotten a good portion of emotions with it, and a will of her own.
- Kanna-chan?
The dark, gentle voice of Kohaku snapped her out of her daze and she turned towards him.
- Yes.
- What did he want this time? asked Kohaku and looked into her black eyes, concerned about his friend's frightened face.
- It appears that Inuyasha has a mate, not an ordinary mate either. She is a girl from the spirit realm, a ferry girl, said Kanna and moved away from the wall and began walking back to her room.
- I can imagine what he want her to do, said Kohaku with low voice and followed the pale girl.
Kanna showed him into her room and she found wards to put so they could talk undisturbed. She saw him stand in the middle of the room and she dropped her mask completely. She took a deep breathe and moved to sit down next to the low table. Kohaku followed her down.
- Are you alright Kanna-chan? he asked worriedly
She nodded and gave him a weak smile. Kohaku was always worried about her.
- Yes Kohaku-kun, I am fine. It is just that it is getting harder not to show any emotions around him. Now that I have them, I want to be able to smile, laugh, cry, all the things you do when you have feelings.
- Does he suspect anything?
- No, I don't think so. And he has no clue what so ever about this, said Kanna and held up a small piece of the magical jewel. It was the one that had been buried in Kohaku's back. She had been able to remove it without killing the young man.
- I am grateful, although my memories pains me at night, I know that I only were used, it was not me who did all those horrible things, said Kohaku with a sad smile.
- Your sister is still alive, and she has a mate as well. Your family is growing.
- Yes, and I am glad.
Silence fell. Kohaku looked at Kanna and felt his stomach flutter a bit. She had grown since she got her that small piece of her heart back. He slightly wondered if Naraku could see it as well? He hoped not. But he could clearly see that her white kimono had filled out more. If she continued to grow like this, she was going to need new clothes.
- Kagura-oneesan are getting a new white kimono for me, said Kanna as if reading his mind.
Kohaku blushed when he realized that she had seen him check out her body. But he could not help it, she was growing to be a very beautiful young woman. He saw her fidget with her fingers, and she too was blushing.
- Kanna-chan?
- Yes.
- What do you think of me? he asked silently.
- ….?
- Do you like me?
Kanna turned her eyes away from his gaze but she nodded. She liked him, she liked him a lot, and not just like a friend. She felt his warm hand on her cheek, gently making her look back at him.
- I like you too Kanna-chan, he whispered softly.
- Y-you do?
He closed the distance between them and kissed her. For a few seconds the time stood still, nothing else but the two of them existed. He pulled back again and caressed her face with his hands.
- Yeah I do.
She felt a tugging in her soul and she made a face.
- Naraku-sama is calling, I better go, she said and got up on her feet and rushed outside her room.
Kohaku let out a deep sigh. He could not believe that he had done that. He had kissed her and she had kissed him back. "Kanna-chan…"

Kanna tried to empty her head before she went into Naraku's room. It took a lot out of her, but she managed in the end. She walked into the room and closed the door behind her.
- Kanna, show me that ferry girl again, he ordered her.
Kanna nodded and walked over to him with her mirror. Gods how she hated that mirror, she wished that the strange miko would shatter it with one of her sacred arrows. She concentrated and an image appeared in the mirror.
Naraku saw the young woman play around with the children; perhaps that was something he could use. Kanna was still a child, perhaps he could send her and Kohaku to lure the ferry girl away from the group under the impression that they were in trouble.
- Kanna, I want you to get this ferry girl for me. Take Kohaku with you and make sure that you don't come back without her, he said coldly.
- Yes Naraku-sama, she said and walked out the room.
She walked slowly at first, but when she came around the corner to the corridor that led to her room she began to run. "Me and Kohaku… alone on a mission…" the thought sent warm ripples through her stomach and she smiled. She could barely wait until she told him.
