Chapter 5. " Adjusting "
" Fuck! what is this?!" Inu Yasha screamed at the nothing in front of him
" Some kind of barrier I presume..." Kurama touched the invisible wall, a small shock formed
" Really? " Kuwabara attempted to lean against it, but fell flat on his face, " Hey! you lairs! there's no wall! "
" Then why the hell can't I get through?! " Inu Yasha demanded, expecting no answer from him
" I don't know! " Kuwabara told him
" Fools,....it's obvious, only humans can pass through here, Hiei jumped off from his tree and touched the wall for himself, he had the same reaction Kurama had.
" Why don't we just go check it out first and tell you what's over the other side? " Kagome suggested
" That's sounds fair to me..." Miroku replied to her advice
Kuwabara, Miroku, then Sango passed through the invisible barrier, until it was Kagome's turn, she passed through, but when she got the the other side, it shocked her, she fell to the ground.
"Ah! Kagome! " Inu Yasha pounded his fists on the wall, it didn't hurt him as much because he was a hanyou.
Kagome slowly got up with her friends' help, " What happened?....why did the barrier shock me? I'm human..." Kagome asked herself.
She tried to stand up again, but fell, " No, you must stay, Kuwabara and I will dicover the landscape for ourselves, Sango stays with you. " Miroku said

Nightfall arrives, " They're still not back....... what's taking them...? " Shippou sat, and wondered, " Oh Kagome,.... please be alright...."
Everyone fell asleep all but Shippou, Kagome was leaning on her back pack, shifting around, sweating.

" Nani? " Kagome studied the place, " It's, it's the lake again.... why am I here again? " she then felt a hand put on her shoulder, her head turned around slighty, then gasped, " You! why? why this again, I want to be left alone! I'm not a demon anymore stay away! please! " Kagome backed up away from the cloaked woman.
" No, your wrong,....you are a demon......." She responded
" What are you talking about?! I'm drank the potion! " Kagome bickered

" Because bitch,...." the woman started taking off her hood, " you caused him so much trouble,....... this is just a little pay back....."
" You-your,.......Kagura........I should have known! " Kagome took another step back but slipped, she was upon a cliff, but hung on to the edge, " Ahhh! Ah! " she screamed
" In the flesh......you still are a demon, why do you think you got shocked when you went past that barrier.... HA ha! you mortals are so easy to fool...." Kagura threw her head back and laughed watching Kagome hang on for her life. Kagome was losing grip, and fell, " Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!! Inu Yasha!!!!!!!!!!!! "

" INU YASHA!!! " Kagome screamed and woke up drenched in sweat
Hiei jumped and almost fell out of the tree,......for the third time..............., " GOD DAMN IT! would you stop doing that! " Hiei yelled at her from the other side.
Inu Yasha reacted quickly, " What?! What is it Kagome?! What's wrong?! "
Kagome panted, " I,...I had a dream..."
" You woke us up just because the boogie man scared you?! " Yusuke sat up
" No! no! I-I was back at the lake again....." She continued, Yusuke turned serious and listened, " the woman,..in the cloak.....she was Kagura..... she told me that I was still a demon, and-"
" that's why you got injured passing, right? " Kurama asked, Kagome nodded and followed with her story
" It's because I didn't finish drinking the antidote....... after she told me, a cliff that appeared out of nowhere,and I fell......"
" Fuck'n bitch ass whore! I'm gonna get her! " Inu Yasha yelled to the sky
Yusuke clenched his fists too, " Right!..........................but I have one question..............who the hell is Kagura? "
Inu Yasha sweatdropped and looked at him with beaded eyes
" Okay.... nevermind then......"
" Kagome.......since you've regained your strength, you should be able to break the spell that holds the barrier...." Sango told her
" Okay......" Kagome got up,... and use her enchanted arrow

< br> The group set off to look for trouble, but found.....Kuwabara and Miroku lying on the floor, Sango ran to Miroku and shook him, " Miroku! Miroku! are you alright?! ", Yusuke did the same to Kuwabara
Kuwabara woke up, " Hey man! stop shak'n! I was just sleeping....."
Sango was confused, " Huh? " then felt a hand grasp onto her hind, " Ah! you bastard! why didn't you tell me that you were just sleeping! " Sango gave him two painful slaps.
" Ahhhhh...........It burns...." Miroku touched both red cheeks.
" Geez we were just resting for a moment, didn't know that we could sleep this long......" Kuwabara said
" Whatever.........."
" Hn.... I'll go first,..... and inform you if there's any trouble ahead...." Hiei jumped quickly from tree to tree.

Hiei unsheathed his katana and slashed more than a dozen in one quick movement, " I shouldn't.....I should follow them and see where they lead..." He suggested to himself. The demon worms stopped and came upon a woman, the worms circled around her and she absorbed the souls they carried. Hiei stayed well hidden, but not well enough, " Come out demon...." The woman said
" Hn. " Hiei hopped out of the tree,
" unveil yourself...... What do you yearn?....."
" Woman.......why did you take those souls........" Hiei asked her instead of responding to her
" That is unessecary for you to know,....now," She turned around, Hiei wide eyed, " Answer me...."
Hiei amazed and kept looking at her, " You,... that girl....."
The woman looked interested and asked him, " What girl? "
Hiei didn't answer
" Hiei? What's going on? " Kurama was right behind him, " Hn. it's about time you caught up......"
Kurama then turned to the woman, and was just as surprised as Hiei was, " Ka-Kagome? "
" Kagome? you mean my reincarnation......." the woman corrected
" Kikyo........" Inu Yasha stood there, the others followed behind, Kagome stared too.
" You........ girl..." Kikyo said in a stern tone, then she smiled, and parted from the place,
" Wait! Kikyo! " Inu Yasha called after her, but the attention soon went to Kagome
" Inu Yasha.......help......." Kagome called in a weak voice, the worm demons were carrying her off to where Kikyo went.
" No! Kagome!" Inu Yasha started after her but fell back.
" Damn it! another barrier! this time neither of us can get past! " Sango tried to get through

" What? impossible..... no one can withstand my spells..." Kikyo was in disbelief, when the light disappeared, " You,..... are a demon...........how......? "
Kagome opened her eyes once more, " I changed again..........."
" How can this be............" Kikyo whispered to herself, " What are you.........."
" Well that's not very nice....... " Kagome made a stiff face, " Kikyo,....why are you doing this? What other reasons do you have? after you kill Inu Yasha, then what? you'll only bring pain to others, Inu Yasha is more than just a friend to us.....like family...." Kagome tried to convince Kikyo, she wasn't buying any of it.
" Silence! " Kikyo shot another arrow a Kagome, she reappeared behind Kikyo, " Hey, I'm get'n the hang of this...." Kagome was impressed by her own speed.
" Wench! " Kikyo exclaimed, " nothing will change my mind! I've made my decision."
" Fine..." Kagome drew her own arrow and shot it at Kikyo, direct hit, Kikyo just fainted, " Hmm.....could of done better...." she sighed
" Kagome? your a demon........" Miroku bit his lip
" Well I know THAT......."
"Again? but how? " Hiei just as confused as the others were
" I dunno.....I just changed, I feel more powerful this way somehow.........." Kagome HAS completely changed...
" Kikyo........ Kagome......what did you do to her....? " Inu Yasha asked mumbling it out
" Oh that...... it was nothing.......don't worry........she's not dead... I mean she is dead but she's not dead....ugh.........nevermind........I just used a spell to make her weak...."
" You.....Demon............." Kikyo tried to get up, " I will kill you, I will kill all of you.......ah...." Kikyo was still in pain
" Sheesh..........SOMEBODY got up on the wrong side of the bed......" Yusuke noted
A sudden dark fog consumed Kikyo and disappeared along with her.

White light appeared around Kagome again, and she turned back, " O..kay.......that, was a little bit MORE weirder...." Kuwabara said again
" Well,..... that was fun while it lasted............." Kagome examined herself

The dark fog roamed inside the castle and cleared, Kikyo coughed a little, " Urrrrrrr..........Naraku.....why did you bring me to your dwelling...? "
" Hmmm........" Naraku smiled, " Kikyo.....why would you choose a fight with that human girl............."
" She's not human.........." Kikyo quickly corrected,
"oh?...... then what? " Naraku questioned willingly
" She's a ....a demon..a demoness " Kikyo hissed out the last word

" A......lake........It was just simple lake with water sprites in it,... ( Flashback ) Kagura reached for the stone in the lake, she grabbed on of the water sprite's tail, she had invaded everything, she killed every living creature in the lake, all but one.....
" Answer me fay,..... what does this stone do? " Karauga put on a devious smrik to scare to sprite
" The stone........it....it holds our decessed master's powers,.... she was a demon,...... powerful... and kind.....but you mustn't misuse it! " It cried
" Shut up...." Kagura hushed, " Is there a cure to the transformation? "
" Yes, it's upon Ugarau mountain, you shouldn't got there either, there lies a spell that turns demons into their true evil form...." it replied
" I don't have to worry about that......" she destroyed the little creature," this could be put to good use,......I shall use it on that girl to pay back all the trouble she caused to Naraku, and for amusment........( End of flashback )...I thought it would do good........"
" Hm,hm,hm.......do not lie to me kagura, you do not wish form me to have it? You should have informed me........That stone I have some knowledge of it, it's sacred, and you should have given it to me,.........not her, It could even help me destroy Inu Yasha and the rest of his ........humans....." Naraku eyed her, " Now leave me........."
" yes..." a small whimper and she was off
" So that caused her change........" Kikyo used her knee to get up, " I will have revenge for my degradation..."
