If you are checking the update, all I did was change the spacing to make it easier to read, all of the updates are just spacing changes, and the storyline did not change at all. I did just put op a new chapter though, that ones new!!!

 

Hello again!!! I am so very sorry it took me so long to update. I have had a very busy summer and rarely get to be near a computer with internet. Well I hope you like this and I would like to thank Mrs. Kurama for reviewing. PLEASE PEOPLE…REVIEW!!!!!

The First Step

 

***The Campsite***

 

Kohoku looked around at all his sleeping teammates. Kohoku was a little worried because his sister had still not returned from finding Hiei. Kohoku knew that Hiei had an explosive temper and knew that he was injured and angry. Maybe Sango had gotten on the fire demons temper for the last time and he killed her? Kohoku started to get really anxious and worried. Making up his mind, Kohoku decided to go look for Sango. He got up and began to walk into the woods when he heard a mumbling behind him, “Hey kid, where are you going?” Yusuke asked.

 

“I'm just going to look for Miss Sango, she went to go find Hiei hours ago and she still hasn't returned.” Kohoku answered.

 

That made Yusuke worry, `Hiei was in a really bad mood, if Sango made him mad there is a good chance he tried to hurt her.'

 

Yusuke thought a little then said, “Okay, I'll tell you what. If Hiei did hurt Sango then there is a good chance he would hurt you too, I'll come along to make sure he doesn't touch you.” Yusuke acted tough as he flexed his muscles.

 

Kohoku was glad to have company; he didn't really trust the Hiei demon. “Okay, thank you.”

 

As they began to walk into the woods there was crash behind them. They looked around to see Kuwabara stumbling over some bushes, “Oh, hey guys, what are you doing Urameshi, trying to mug another little kid?”

 

In response Kuwabara got a big lump on the head. “No stupid we were going to go check to make sure Hiei hasn't tried to kill Sango.”

 

Kuwabara blinked his eyes, “oh yeah! Hey where is Sango?”

 

Yusuke punched him again, “you idiot, that's what we are going to find out.”

“Oh, Okay can I come?” Kuwabara asked.

 

“Whatever.” Yusuke said as he and Kohoku went into the woods.

 

After walking for quite a bit they saw something under a tree. As they moved forward they saw that it was moving slightly.

 

Kohoku realized what it was Hiei holding Sango. Sango was resting her head on his shoulders and his head on hers, if you didn't know better you would think they were a loving couple.

 

Yusuke stared at the fire demon, on Hiei's face was the slightest sign of a smile; it was too much for Yusuke.

 

“HIEI LIKES SANGO!!!!!” Yusuke was laughing as hard as possible; he never thought he would ever see Hiei look like this.

 

Kuwabara and Kohoku started laughing too, Kohoku did because of how funny Yusuke was being and Kuwabara for how Hiei was drooling a little.

 

The laughter quickly woke up Hiei and when he saw Yusuke his face had the expression like he had just been hit in the head with a bulldozer.

 

Sango woke up too and saw that her brother was laughing; she turned a nice shade of bright red.

 

“Hey Kuwabara, we can clearly see who will be the dominant one in this relationship. Sango can really make Hiei do anything.”

 

Hiei's eyes were glowing red.

 

“Hiei and Sango sitting in a tree; KISSING, first…” unfortunately that was all Yusuke had time to sing because suddenly Hiei had pushed him into a tree and was holding him there with his sword to Yusuke's neck.

 

Hiei was shaking with rage and Sango looked like she would be quite glad to see Yusuke's head removed.

 

“Hey relax Hiei,” Yusuke said with a big cocky grin on his face. “I think its sweet that you finally fell for a woman”

 

“I did not FALL for anyone!” Hiei hissed.

 

“Yeah shrimp, you looked like you were putty in her hands.” Kuwabara said stupidly.

This time Sango had her sword to Kuwabara's neck, “I suggest you shut up Kuwabara.” Sango looked angry enough to spit flames.

 

“See she gets defensive if you mess with her little Hiei.” Yusuke said.

 

Yusuke and Kuwabara were having the time of their lives, truthfully they knew that Hiei and Sango wouldn't kill them but they were really pushing the edge.

 

“Sango, Hiei, please release Kuwabara and Yusuke.” Kurama emerged from the woods.

Hiei looked ready to kill but reluctantly he let down Yusuke.

 

Sango slowly removed her sword too when she saw Shippo and Kagome were there.

“What do you want fox?” Hiei said angrily.

 

“When I woke up to yelling I decided to go see what was wrong. Now kindly explain to us what happened.” Kurama said calmly.

 

Yusuke jumped at the opportunity to explain. “Well we were just coming to check up on Hiei and Sango and we found them hugging and cuddling together.” Yusuke took a sideways glance at Hiei who looked if possible angrier.

 

Kagome exploded at this information, “I knew it, and I knew it Sango. I knew that you liked Hiei. This is perfect now the two hot heads are a couple.”

 

The idea that they were now a couple seemed to hit Sango and Hiei pretty hard.

 

“What? Me with him? Ha, Ha, Kagome that's funny!!!” Sango said nervously.

 

“And impossible, you see for me to even consider the slayer she would have to have more fighting talent then Kuwabara which she sadly lacks.” Hiei said with evil smile.

 

“And what do you mean by that?” Sango said sharply.

 

“Just that you couldn't fight your way out of a paper bag, Slayer.”

 

“Oh, is that a challenge Midget?”

 

“Good, you figured it out. I guess you do have a brain bigger then a slug after all.” Hiei said just to make her angry.

 

“I'll show you.” With that Sango and Hiei's blades were clashing off each other in a fierce battle. The only thing was that neither one of them were aiming for the others wounded spots. Sango didn't attack Hiei's stomach and he didn't try to make her injuries deeper.

 

Kurama smiled at this. “How strange.” He whispered to Kagome. “I never thought I would see the day when Hiei would go out of his way not to hurt his opponent but to make it look like he was.”

 

“Sango is doing the same thing. She has had many opportunities to cut him in the stomach but hasn't taken one. I can't wait until they just admit they like each other, that will make all our lives easier.” Kagome said with a sigh.

 

Then suddenly Hiei went flying into a tree. Sango really was mad. Then a few seconds later after Hiei got up, he gave Sango a nice deep cut on the leg and sent her flying into shockingly, InuYasha's hands.

 

InuYasha was thrown to the ground with Sango on top of him. “What the hell is going on?” He looked around. “Since everyone is awake we should all go look for the jewel shards.” He focused on Sango and Hiei; “You two can finish your lovers quarrel later.”

 

Hiei and Sango just glared at InuYasha.

 

Kagome looked around to see if everyone was awake. Kirara showed up which meant that everyone was there, except Miroku.

 

“InuYasha, do you know where Miroku is?” Kagome's question made a few people look around.

 

“No I didn't see him.” InuYasha said.

 

“You don't think that he was sucked up in another portal do you?” Kagome said worried.

 

“Now don't jump to conclusions Kagome, I'll go look for him.” Sango said as she began to walk away.

 

Sango walked back to the campsite with Kirara and then Kirara began to lead her into a different part of the woods.

 

After a short walk they saw Miroku sitting on a stone looking very sad.

 

Sango suddenly felt a huge surge of guilt, she knew what was wrong. “Hey Miroku…What's up?” She tried to sound cheery but it came out a little depressing.

Miroku looked up and attempted a smile, “Oh Sango, its nothing.”

 

Sango knew what was wrong but she didn't know what to say or how to comfort him.

 

“If you like him you should go after him.” Miroku said out of the blue.

 

“What?” Sango asked slowly.

 

“I know you like Hiei, I saw both of you last night.” Miroku said sadly.

 

“Miroku I…” Sango began.

 

“No Sango. I could never stand it to be second choice. If you like him stay with him, whatever makes you happy works for me.” Miroku said as he finally realized that Sango was meant to be with someone else.

 

Sango smiled slightly, “Thank you Miroku.” With that she gave Miroku a friend hug. Miroku smiled and let his hand wander a little.

 

SMACK “Miroku…You PERVERT!!!! I try to have one mature conversation with you…” Sango then stormed off leaving Miroku.

 

Miroku smiled, `Okay so she isn't going to be my girl. But it always pays to have friends with nice butts around.' Miroku's smiled a content smile. `Now I need to find another girl, hey that shouldn't be too hard.' Or will it?

 

While Miroku was happily thinking about all the girls he could go after next a very annoyed fire demon emerged out of the trees.

 

“Oh hello Hiei, um what up?” Miroku stuttered a little.

 

Hiei slowly walked over to Miroku then pulled out his sword and held it to Miroku's throat. “Listen Monk, keep you filthy hands of the Slayer.” Hiei looked ready to kill.

 

“Um okay, yes sir I won't touch her.” Miroku said terrified.

 

“Hn, Good.” Hiei then shielded his sword and began to walk off.

 

“Wait.” To Miroku's amazement Hiei stopped. “You better take care of her.” Miroku said with warning in his voice.

 

Hiei just looked him in the eyes and did the slightest nod of his head. “Hn.” Then he walked into the dark woods.

 

Miroku gave one last sigh then began to go back to camp with one more thought in mind, `I can see any girl I want now…I'm free.'

 

 

***Spirit World***

 

Koenma is trying desperately to try and get some order; there has been an outbreak of demons from demon world into the human world.

 

“GEORGE GET IN HERE NOW!!!” Koenma screamed as his blue ogre servant entered.

“Yes mister Koenma sir…” George said as he came rushing in.

 

“I need you to get me the paperwork on the escaped demons pronto.” Koenma said furiously stamping other paperwork.

 

“Yes sir, oh and sir we have reported that Kagome has come back.” George said reading off a list.

 

“Why? I didn't tell her to come back?” Koenma forgot stamping for a second. “Is anyone else with her?”

 

“No sir, well some demon is but I don't know who.” George replied.

 

“How strange…what is she doing?”

 

“Well sir she is going into a group of demons and talking to them with her new demon friend.”

 

“Well that's weird…I'm going to radio Yusuke and ask him why he sent Kagome back…also I want to check on the progress of Kurama.” Then Koenma looked at a mountain tall stack of paper work. “Well I'll radio when I'm done with this paperwork, its first priority.”

 

George left Koenma furiously stamping as even more paper fell on top.

 

 

***Back in the Feudal Era***

 

The group packed up ready to go look for more jewel shards. InuYasha was really moody, he kept on looking over at Kagome and Kurama who were standing right next to each other involved in a conversation with Shippo jumping back and forth on their shoulders.

 

Miroku was more upbeat then people would think…He was looking around as if expecting to see new woman falling from the sky.

 

The really shocking thing was that Hiei was walking somewhat close to the group. He was just a little ways off in the back of the pack but still clearly a part of the group.

 

Sango looked over her shoulders. “Look who finally decided he wasn't too cool for us.” She said pointing at Hiei.

 

Hiei just glared at her but then he walked up to her and started walking beside her.

 

“Hello, personal space.” Sango said. No one was paying any attention to what was happening between the demon slayer and the fire demon…except Kohoku.

 

Hiei just chuckled. “I can go wherever I want, its not like a human like yourself could stop me.”

 

Sango's response was grabbing her boomerang and hitting him on the head. Hiei responded by punching her in the face. After the blows had been exchanged they both walked in silence next to each other.

 

`What a weird relationship…' thought Kohoku who had witnessed everything.

 

Kurama and Kagome chuckled at the display but acted like they didn't notice. “I can't wait to see what those two look like ten years from now…there will probably be nuclear bombs involved.” Kagome chuckled.

 

Kurama watched Kagome's laugh, he thought about how pretty she was. “Hey Kagome. What are you going to do when we defeat Naraku?”

 

Kagome thought about this for a second. “I don't know, I guess I will find some more of the jewel shards but after that I don't know…InuYasha will probably wish himself a full demon then I…I guess I don't really know.” Kagome thought about it for a second. “How about you? What will you do when you no longer have to work on this mission?” Kagome asked.

 

“I will probably go back home.” Kurama looked at Kagome. “And I would love it if I could take you back with me.” Kurama stared directly into Kagome's beautiful brown eyes.

 

Kagome didn't know how to react… “What do you mean Kurama?”

 

Kurama paused for a second then answered. “I would love it if you would come back to our time with me…I really don't want to leave you. I mean I know you have friends here and I understand that but I couldn't bear to leave you again.” Kurama looked down avoiding her eyes.

 

Kagome got on her tiptoes and whispered into his ear, “I would love too.”

 

Kurama turned around and hugged Kagome. “Thank you.”

 

Shippo had listened into the whole conversation, “Can I come with you mommy?”

 

Kagome froze for a second, raising a little fox demon in the modern day? Well… “Okay Shippo, I wouldn't have it any other way.” Shippo cheered.

 

Shippo then jumped over to Kurama and said, “Does that make you my Daddy. YAY, I Love you Daddy.” Shippo hugged Kurama.

 

Kurama looked as pale as a sheet, “Ah Shippo I'm not your…” But Kagome saved him from this very embarrassing situation. “Shippo, Kurama isn't your daddy, he's just a really good friend of mine.”

 

“But he's your boyfriend.” Shippo said happily.

 

Kagome thought for a second…Kurama never officially asked her to be his girlfriend.

 

“Yes Shippo I am Kagome's boyfriend but I'm not your daddy little one.” Kurama said regaining some of his composure.

 

Meanwhile Kagome felt like she was on cloud nine, `he said he was my boyfriend, yay.'

 

The rest of the walk was pretty uneventful except Yusuke tried to see if Kuwabara would float in some town's drinking water.

 

Miroku flirted with tons of girls in the first village they came upon; he flirted with so many that InuYasha had to pull him away telling him he was a huge disgrace. (Like that's new)

 

When the sun had gone down the group stopped to eat something. Kagome started cooking and Shippo helped.

 

Sango and surprisingly Hiei went to get firewood. `Wow, being with Sango really has changed him.' Kurama thought.

 

InuYasha went to get some fish with Kirara and Kohoku, Kurama, Kuwabara, and Yusuke set up the rest of the camp.

 

After dinner was cooked the whole gang sat around eating…including Hiei who hung around them but didn't eat anything. Yusuke and Kuwabara were going to make fun of him but remembered the last time they did and decided against it.

 

When they were all sitting around the fire Yusuke's communicator went off. “What's up Toddler?” Yusuke said to the communicator.

 

~“I am not a Toddler!!!”~

 

“Well what's up?” Yusuke asked cutting off Koenma's rant.

 

~“I wanted to check in on a few things. First of all, how is Kurama?”~

 

“I'm fine Koenma, I'm not possessed anymore.” Kurama answered for Yusuke.

 

“See Toddler face, we didn't need to kill him if things went bad.” Yusuke said to the communicator.

 

~“I never said to kill him”~ Koenma said nervously, ~“I just didn't want you to loose the mission.”~ Everyone rolled their eyes.

 

~“The next thing I wanted to ask was why did Kagome go back so soon?”~

 

Yusuke stared at the screen in puzzlement. “What do you mean Toddler?”

 

~ “I mean why is Kagome walking around in the modern world with some strange demon. Any extra missions or team members have to go through me Yusuke, so why did you send her there?”~

 

Kurama came in, “Koenma, there must be some mistake, Kagome's been with us all day.”

 

“Yes Koenma, I haven't gone back home in a long time.” Kagome piped in.

 

Koenma looked like he had been hit on the head. ~“Wait, our surveillance saw you with another demon walking out of the Higurashi shrine and down town.”~

 

It took a second for Kagome to realize what was going on. “Did this Kagome where a long red kimono?”

Koenma checked the surveillance cameras. ~“Well I guess she did.”~

 

Everyone knew what was happening.

 

“That means that Kikyo is through the well.” InuYasha said quickly, urgency filing his voice. “Then we have to go find her NOW.”

 

“I agree, Naraku is up to something and we should cut him off as soon as possible.” Kagome said.

 

~“OH NO!!! ALL THE PAPERWORK!!! Find them NOW!!!”~ With that Koenma turned of the communicator.

 

“You herd the Toddler, lets go.” No one objected, within minuets the whole camp was torn down and they were running in the direction of the well, InuYasha in the lead.

 

 

***The Other Side of the Well***

 

As the last person climbed out of the well (Kagome) they began to look around for any signs or Naraku. Which was difficult considering it was in the middle of the night.

Kagome heard a small groan. When she looked at whom it belonged to her body froze in horror; it was her grandfather.

 

Kagome's grandfather was on the ground covered in blood.

 

Kagome rushed over to him; “Grandpa, are you okay?”

 

Everyone else looked to see what the problem was and were shocked to see whom it was.

Kurama rushed over to help Kagome pull up her grandfather who had fallen unconscious.

 

“He needs help; someone help me carry him.” Kagome said tears streaming down her face.

 

InuYasha stepped in and picked up her grandfather. “Where should I take him?”

 

“Put him on the couch in the living room, I'll see if I can find some of our medical supplies.” Kagome said trying her hardest not to cry even harder.

 

Kurama helped Kagome up and everyone went into the house.

 

When they got in Kurama started treating the mans wounds and Kagome started looking around for her mom or brother, she saw a note on the fridge that said they had gone to visit some relatives and wouldn't be back for a week.

 

Kagome was relieved that they were out of harms way.

 

Kurama came out of the living room after helping the old man. “Don't worry Kagome, he's going to be okay. He looks like he has been hit by something sharp on the arm. It was not a fatal wound, luckily.”

 

“When I find the creep that hurts old guy's I'm going to beat their face in.” Kuwabara said heroically.

 

“Kagome do you have any Idea what happened?” Asked Kurama.

 

Kagome took a deep breath and tried not to cry, “No, I don't know anyone who wants to hurt my grandpa.” She then looked around at the whole group of fighters in her kitchen, “I know that we should get going soon.” Kagome said to the others. “But I just want to make sure he's okay.”

 

InuYasha saw how torn apart Kagome was, “Its okay Kagome, we can wait until morning to go after Kikyo.”

 

Kagome looked at him; “Thank you InuYasha.”

 

Everyone thought that was a good idea so they made beds and went to sleep all over the house. They were preparing, they knew it was going to be a big day the next day.

Kagome gave Sango her bed and fell asleep in a chair watching over her grandfather. Kurama put a blanket over her and pulled another chair close to her and fell asleep too.

 

 

***The Next Morning***

 

Gramps woke up first and he saw Kagome sitting next to him…Along with some strange boy he had not seen before.

 

His movement woke up Kagome and her eyes sprang open. “Thank goodness; you're all right.” She said as she carefully hugged him.

 

“Yes Kagome, I'm just as sharp as I was when I was 45.” Grandpa said happily.

 

“What happened Gramps?” Kagome asked.

 

“It's a terrible tale but first tell me who this is.” Grandpa pointed at Kurama.

 

Kurama smiled and said politely; “My name is Kurama; I'm very pleased to see you're all right.”

 

Gramps smiled and said, “He's polite; I like him, good choice Kagome.”

 

Kagome's cheeks went red from embarrassment. “Um, okay gramps now can you please tell us what happened.” Kagome said quickly.

 

“Well, I heard a noise coming from the well house so I went to go see if you had come back. And you were back, or at least it looked like you. You were wearing a white and red kimono and you had a friend with you. You asked me if there were any demons around and I told you there were some over on the other side of town. You began to go but I told you to stay here because it was to late. You said `your usefulness has ended' and something that looked like a tentacle came out from under your friend and him me. Then I blacked out and I wake up and you are here. I don't think that was you but it looked a lot like you.”

 

Kagome knew exactly what had happened; also she knew now where to find Kikyo and Naraku. “Well gramps, take care of yourself. We are going to go try and find the people that did this to you.”

 

“No your not young lady.” Gramps said strongly. “You two and all your friends are going to stay for breakfast, I have been lonely since your mom and brother have gone to visit you aunt.” Kagome didn't know what to say but Kurama said it for her. “We would love to join you for breakfast.”

 

“Good.” Said Grandpa. “But first…Kagome could you make some breakfast?”

Kagome chuckled but went into the kitchen to cook, Kurama also went with her to help. “I'm glad your grandfather is all right.” Kurama said.

 

“Me too, I was really worried.” Kagome said as she began to get out all the supplies needed to make a big meal.

 

“Everyone has worked really hard, I think they deserve a nice real meal to start off the day.” Kagome said happily.

 

“If you want I could help you cook.” Kurama said.

 

Then Shippo came out from Kagome's room, “I want to help too!!!” He said jumping up and down.

 

Kagome nodded and all of them made a huge meal fit for a king.

 

Of course the smell of food woke up Yusuke, Kuwabara, and InuYasha. But everyone else woke up soon and came to breakfast.

 

Hiei did not, even though he was beginning to feel accepted by the humans he still would never go so far as to eat with them in one of their houses. Hiei instead went off to do something?

 

Everything was going great, and then the curiosity of Kagome got the best of her. “So Sango…what's up with you and Hiei?”

 

The whole table went silent and Sango choked on her food. “I don't know what you're talking about.” She said as her face tuned red as a tomato.

 

“What she's talking about is; why has Hiei been hanging around a lot more and why did we catch you guys cuddling?” Yusuke joined into the conversation.

 

Sango was at a loss, what could she say? “Um…Well we aren't…I mean we didn't…I mean…” Sango was trying very hard to think of something to say. “I um…hate his guts?”

 

“You don't really expect us to believe that, do you Sango?” Miroku said with laughter in his voice. It was just as much fun to tease Sango as it was to grope her.

 

“Why don't you two just come out and admit you like each other, geash.” InuYasha said as he ate another pancake whole.

 

“We…ah……I have to go.” Sango said as she got up and went outside.

 

“Guy's you didn't have to tease her that much!!!” Kagome said still chuckling at Sango's reaction.

 

“Are you talking about me?” Kagome's oblivious grandpa said as he stopped shoveling food down his mouth. Kagome just rolled her eyes.

 

 

***Outside the shrine***

 

Sango was walking outside the house, trying to get a little fresh air. `Darn you Kagome!!! Why did you have to bring up that subject?' Sango thought as she walked through the garden.

 

“Hn, what subject?” Hiei was leaning on a tree looking at her.

 

“Nothing that concerns you.” Sango said angrily as the thought of what happened at the table rolled through her head.

 

“I think that subject does concern me.” Hiei grinned evilly.

 

“Stop reading my mind you little stocker.” Sango glared at him and sat down on a bench.

 

Hiei walked over to the bench and stood next to her.

 

“What do you want?” She asked annoyed.

 

“I want to know what you were going to tell them.” Hiei said.

 

“What do you mean?” Sango now looked bored.

 

“How would you answer the detective's question?” Hiei's interests were peeked.

 

“I would answer that it's none of his business.” Sango replied.

 

Hiei glared daggers at her. Then he muttered something about “dumb slayers…not knowing anything…moron…human.” The muttering got to Sango.

 

“Would you shut up you annoying half of a demon?” Sango yelled.

 

“Just try and make me.” Hiei replied.

 

“Fine.” Sango and Hiei were once again locked in another battle. Sango cut Hiei's arm and kicked him in the stomach where his wound was still healing.

 

Hiei attacked back and cut her in the leg and punched her in the face and sent her into the tree. Hiei then pinned her to the tree, “You never were a match for me human.” He said with a wicked smile.

 

Sango smiled too and kissed him on the lips. Hiei was shocked. In his stunned state Sango was able to break the kiss and punch him hard in the face and have him pinned to the ground with his own sword.

 

“I'd say you aren't a match for me.” Sango said smiling.

 

Hiei just glared at her…that was playing dirty.

 

Before he could give her another comment she got up and walked away. “I don't fight losers.” Sango said as she went back in the house.

 

Hiei chuckled a little, playing dirty…I like it.

 

 

***Back at Kagome's House. ***

 

Sango stamped into the room with fresh wounds from fighting Hiei. “Sango what happened?” Asked Kagome.

 

“Nothing important. A little insect just thought it could challenge me.” She said calmly as she walked to the bathroom to clean up.

 

“That's a really big insect.” Kuwabara said dumbly.

 

“Okay people…Lets go find Naraku.” Kagome said cheerfully.

 

“Yeah, lets go kick some Naraku butt.” Yusuke cheered.

 

Kagome took out all the not important things from her backpack. She only brought some emergency snacks, water, medical supplies, and a few flashlights.

 

Then the group got out of the house, after making sure everyone was all right, they began to go towered Naraku.

 

“InuYasha, can you smell Naraku?” Kagome asked.

 

“I catch a faint whiff of him this way.” InuYasha replied.

 

Hiei's jagon eye glowed. “Hn, he's down this street.” Hiei said as he pointed down a different street then InuYasha.

 

InuYasha surprisingly didn't object and went the way Hiei said; apparently he really couldn't smell exactly where Naraku was.

 

After a while Kohoku stopped dead in his tracks. Sango turned around “Kohoku what's wrong?” Kohoku then took out his scythe, his eyes became dull.

 

“Oh no.” Sango breathed. Suddenly Kohoku's scythe went flying right at Kagome.

“Kagome look out!!!” Sango screamed.

 

Kagome moved just in time.

 

“Hey dude, what wrong?” Yusuke said angrily to Kohoku.

 

Kohoku responded by jumping up and attacking Yusuke.

 

“He's back under Naraku's control!!!” Yelled Kagome.

 

Sango just stared at Kohoku…what could she do? Kohoku's scythe then went right towered her, she blocked it but Kohoku did a surprise move and pulled her sword away with the chain.

 

Hiei then attacked Kohoku but he only went to disarm him. Hiei cut off Kohoku's sword then with some lightning speed attacks got the scythe out of his hands. Kohoku started to fight with his fists, that's where Kurama came in with a thorn less rose whip and wrapped it around Kohoku; the boy was trapped.

 

Sango looked at him, “someone get that jewel shard out.” She knew it had kept him alive but was quite sure that now he could live without it.

 

No one wanted to get the jewel shard out…except Hiei. Quickly Hiei cut a small whole in Kohoku's back and pulled it out quickly. Kohoku fainted.

 

Kurama released him from the rose whip and Sango took him into her arms. “You'll be okay.”

 

Kohoku woke up and tears ran down his eyes; “Quick you have to get out of here.” He tried to say. “What?” Asked Sango.

 

Kohoku took some deep breaths; “I was a distraction, you have to get out of here…the ambush.”

 

Everyone who had heard that quickly straitened up. They were about to be ambushed.

Kohoku was quite right; while they were fighting him no one noticed herds of demons gathering around.

 

Now that they had been exposed, the thousands of demons were now attacking the group of travelers.

 

Miroku went to do wind tunnel but of course the Shamiosho were there so he couldn't use the wind tunnel, but he still fought with his staff.

 

Hiei was debating if he should use the dragon of the darkness flame but he decided he would save that for later.

 

A demon swooped down and attacked InuYasha. InuYasha sliced its head right off. He pulled out his Tetsusaiga and did a backlash wave to a ton of demons coming at them.

Sango's Hiraikotsu flew threw tons of demons. But one time when it was out cutting demons apart another demon tackled Sango, they were about the same size but the demon had claws. Sango and the demon were on the ground wrestling but Sango kept getting cut up. Eventually she got hold of her sword and pushed it right threw the demons heart and threw him off.

 

“That was messy.” She said as she whipped both the demons and her blood off of her and her sword.

 

Miroku jumped up and put his staff down on top of a demons head splitting the head in two.

 

Kagome was shooting off arrows as fast as possible and sending out rays of purifying energy.

 

Hiei was slicing demons apart and even chuckling about it. It wasn't too often he got to just cut a ton of demons apart; he was really enjoying himself. Well he was until one demon threw him into one of Yusuke's shot gun blasts.

 

Yusuke ran over to Hiei who had been blasted to the ground by the attack; “Are you okay Hiei?” Hiei was getting up with a very angry expression. “WATCH WHERE YOU'RE AIMING DETECTIVE!!!”

 

Yusuke got mad back; “Next time don't just run into my shotgun shortie!!!” Their conversation was cut short when InuYasha was thrown into them by another demon.

 

“Watch it mutt!!!” Hiei growled, InuYasha responded by doing a wind scar towered Hiei. Hiei dodged but when he was about to fight back another demon jumped on him; he responded by slicing the demons head off. He should probably fight the demons before InuYasha.

 

Kirara and Kohoku were fighting together. Now that Kohoku was free of Naraku he wanted to help as much as possible. He wasn't really healed but that didn't stop him.

 

Kirara flew threw demons biting them while he rode on her and sliced their heads off.

Kurama was watching Kagome to make sure she was okay but he was also doing many moves with his rose whip. He almost hit Miroku once but luckily he barely missed him. It was hard to fight with a whip because they were in an alleyway and demons were just pouring down on them…who knows how many there were.

 

Kuwabara was slicing down demons but getting punched back a bunch of times.

 

Shippo was trying to do fox fires but was having a little bit of trouble. His nerves were getting to him and he was getting scared of the other big demons. One big demon came down on him but was punched out of the way by Yusuke.

 

“Hey kid, be careful.” Yusuke said to the kit.

 

“Thank you.” Shippo said but right when he did another demon was about to eat him. Yusuke picked him up and put him on his shoulder. “Here kid, you burn them and I'll punch them. Shippo liked that idea and they went to work killing lots of demons.

 

The battle raged on; carcasses on top of carcasses filled the ally. The fighters weren't in that good of shape either; they had tons of deep scrapes and scratches and probably some broken bones somewhere. Lots of things happened like while on top of Kirara, a demon punched off Kohoku; Kohoku went flying head first into the ally wall, he fell down unconscious.

 

The demon then went to kill Kohoku but was mercilessly cut in half by Hiei; “I have done too many things to save this kids life to have you kill him now.” Hiei said as he picked up Kohoku and put him in a safe place behind a dumpster. Hiei then stood guard around the kid till Sango realized what happened and took over protecting him.

 

After a few hours of fighting the demon cloud was gone. All of Naraku's demons were dead. The group was exhausted and some could barely even stand.

 

“Good Job fools…you've beaten the little demons. Now can you play with the big ones?” Kagura's voice rang out over the fighters. They looked up to see Kagura, Kanna, and to everyone's surprise Kikyo standing over them on Kagura's feather ready to fight.

 

“Sh*t this is going to be bad.” Yusuke summed up everyone's feelings, as they stood ready to fight the next battle that would bring them one step closer to Naraku.
