Chapter 6. "A New Enemy"
He sped off into the night, he landed silently on the window sill of Kurama's room.
"Why Hiei-kun, you back." he greeted his friend.
"Hn."
"You've been out all night, must be boring ne?"
"Hn, damn right, of course it was. I had to wait for her to come back ever since 7:00pm, she came back at 9 or so, then she finally fell asleep..."
"Oh, I see..how was Kagome-chan?"
Hiei narrowed his eyes and looked down, "she was sad. That's all I have to say."
"Hm.." Kurama sat down on his bed, "I suspected this would happen...." he turned to Hiei again, "and she didn't suspect you were there?"
"Of course not, what do you take me for?...I can mask myself easily." he bragged.
"I was just concerned....Kagome-chan had been really depressed last time I saw her."
"If that's all you wanted me to do then I'll leave right now." Hiei said.
"Alright, you can leave, arigato Hiei, I appreciate this." Kurama smiled.
Hiei nodded and disappeared in a blur.

"Yusuke!" Keiko cried out, "Where are you going?"
"Oh, I wanted to go visit Kagome, I need to talk to her."
"Oh, okay then, can I come with you or I'll just wait for you at Genkai's temple.."
"You should go Keiko, this is kinda private." Kuwabara replied.
"Oh okay then, bye guys! see you a lil later!" Yusuke watched Keiko run off in the other direction.
"(sigh)...I don't get it....why do we have to get it back anyway?...I mean, Kagome's strong enough to protect the jewel right? she's not gonna misuse it......argh......stupid Koenma..." he complained
"Eh, I wouldn't know about these things because SOMEONE left me behind when you were fighting the monkey!!!!!"
"Peh....we didn't need your help anyway...we did just fine killing that bastard Naraku with or without..."
"ARgh..." They two boys kept arguing until they reached the Higurashi shrine. Fortunatelly, jiisan wasn't there to throw vodka and sticky paper at them. They walked all the way upstairs and looked around, they spotted Kagome AND Kurama under the god tree talking.
"Hey! Kurama!-kun "Kuwabara shouted.
They both looked up to see Yusuke and kuwabara run up to them, "Hey guys, long time no see!" Kagome greeted.
"Yeah! heh, well, we came to say hi, and there's some business to be settled.." Yusuke scratched the back of his head.
"OOooh...you mean the Shikon no tama?....well you see...I really don't know what to do with it.."
"(sigh)...I say you should keep it,... you ARE strong enough to protect it right? and your supposed to be the guardian anyway.....but NNOOOOooo....some stupid fuck'n baby had make me come all the way over here just to get it back.." he complained.
"Well..." Kagome sweatdropped.
"I heard that Yusuke!!" the teenage Koenma appeared behind them, "I am not stupid! I just sent you here to negotiate."
"BWAH! don't scare me like that! " Kuwabara stepped back.
"I get that a lot..." T.T' Koenma cleared his throat and continued, "Anyway...let's settle this Kagome, let's say I keep it, do you think many demons will be after it?"
"No duh!" Kuwabara shouted.
"OKAY then...How bout I keep it your possesion?"
"Well...I don't know..."
"I'm trusting you Kagome, you have the required needs to be able to protect the Shikon jewel."
"...I..guess I can try for a bit.."
"Good, now I have to go back to stamp more papers...argh..damned no good ogre..." he muttered to himself as he walked off.
"Well, I guess we came here for nothing.." Yusuke said, "and Kurama, why are you here?"
"I needed to have a talk that's all." he explained.
"Alright then, we'll be going now, see ya....come on Kuwabara.." The two left, once they were our of sight Kurama sighed in relief.
"Anyway..where were we?"
"Umm...about your situation, I'm really sorry Kagome, but your going to have to make your decision soon....you can't stay like this forever.."
"But can't I?...I wished this never happened.."
"It's alright, as I said before, follow your heart."
"I will Kurama-chan, I will...." Kagome hugged him, he hugged back, "Oh, Kurama, I know I have to face this on my own...but can you help me?"
"As in..?"
"Come with me to the feudal era....I need someone to support me incase the going gets rough...ya know?"
"Of course I will^^"
"Thanks" she kissed him on the cheek without regret.

Once both of them got to the other side, Kurama felt her hold onto him constantly, "What's wrong Kagome-chan?
"Oh..well nothing..why?"
"Your....holding onto me a little too tightly...^^' "
"Oh, sorry, It's just that, I don't want to be attacked again."
"Attacked?"
"Uh...Well last time I got attack by a ugly green demon and Sess......" she blushed, "Sesshomaru saved me."
Kurama carefully unhooked Kagome from his uniform and smiled, "Nothing will happen to you I promise."
"Arigato Kurama-chan."
"Your welcome." They walked through the forest, Kagome could sense demons all around, were they afraid to attack? why would they be?...
"Umm...Kurama, don't you think it's a little strange that the..." she was silenced with a finger placed on her lips.
"Shh..." he nodded, which meant a yes, he could sense demons all around him.
Kagome was half safe and half scared, she didn't want t end up like last time where she needed a certain someone to save her. Kurama and her kept walking, until Kagome accidentaly stepped on something that almost made her trip,"WAH!" the something was a demon, a earth demon, Kurama told her to stay back, and she did, backing up to a tree.
"Becareful Kagome!" he warned. Kurama took out his rosewhip and attacked the earth demon, it shredded into pieces, then...reformed.
"ARgh....your plant weapons are useless against me!" It's voice boomed, "Your just a mere human! when that girl your name was Kurama, we feared that It was the great youko, but it appears that we were wrong! you ARE just a mere human!!"
"True." Kurama smirked, "for now.." he transformed into his youko form.
"ARgh...you are not the youko Kurama! it's a trick!" all the demons that were hiding attack all at once, Kurama manage to kill a dozen then dodged the other attacks swiftly. The must have about 50 or so attacked, but more and more came. Kagome cheered him on, "GO KURAMA!! I believe in you!!! kick their butts!! You can do it! Yeah! Go Ku-AHHHH!!!!" Kagome screamed, a dragon like demon grabbed her and flew into the air.
"KAGOME!!" the youko shouted.
"AHH!!!! put me down you ugly thing!!! let me go!!!" she pounded her fists on the dragan but it ignored the barely noticable pain. "FINE!!!" Kagome grew angry and scratched the giant dragon with her claws, it wasn't just a scratch, it was an attack, the dragon perished into thin air and Kagome fell fell down, "AHHH!!! HELP ANYONE!! AH-ah!" she was caught by someone, Inu Yasha.
"Kagome! are you okay?" he asked.
Kagome blushed, "I..I'm okay Inu Yasha.."
They both landed on the ground in front of the battle youko Kurama was having.
Kurama killed them all already, but he could have sworn there were duplicates of the same demons were made, so he kept attacking.
"Kurama!!" Inu Yasha shouted, "Get out of the way!! hurry!"
Youko turned around seeing it was Inu Yasha and nodded, he landed next to Kagome.
Inu Yasha took out the transformed Tetsuisaga, *Okay....I see the windscar, a big one too!" Inu Yasha swung his sword forcefully, and all the demons were blown to bits!.....but more were coming, and they looked like the same ones that he had killed before!
"What the fuck is going on?!"
"It's...It's a puppet master!!!" Kagome screamed.
"What?" Inu yasha turned aroung to face Kagome, he walked up to her and kneeled down, "Kagome. Are you okay?" he asked with beaded eyes.
"NO! you don't understand! Kaede told me about those demons! she told there was only one kind left in the world and I thought it had been defeated already!"
"Your not making any sense Kagome!" Kurama said.
"All those demons you see before you are not real! okay sure they can bite, scratch, and hurt you but that's not the point... They're puppets! there's only on demon behind all this! he has to be hidding somewhere near! "
"Where is he?!"
Kagome sweatdropped, "If I had knew that the I would have told you already!!!!"
"Oh, right."
"No time! we must act quickly!" youko yelled.
"Okay!" Inu Yasha agreed, "Kagome we'll hold off the demons and you go get help, call for Miroku and Sango! Miroku can suck all these astards in! hurry Kagome!!"
"Alright! I'm on it!!" she pranced a few steps and began run with her newly found demon speed. Kagome saw everything as a blur*I can't see anything!! I'll never get used to this!!* she had no time to stop and slamed herself right into a giant ox demon, "WAHHH!!!!!!" Kagome stepped back to steady herself, everything was spinning around her, her head was aching, Kagome dropped down, The ox stepped on her fragile body, making Kagome scream, it laughed. She tied to get up, once she did, she was punched in the stomach flying backwards smashing through several trees. Now Kagome had cuts everywhere, and she probably broke an arm too.

"What's taking Kagome so long?" youko complained dodging yet another attack.
"I have no idea!" Inu Yasha was blocking a sickle with his Tetsuisaga, "All I know is we have to find the puppet master damn it!!" he overpowered the demon and sliced it in half. That gave Inu Yasha chance to look up, and see Kagome knocked out in the ox demon's hand, "K...Kagome......KAGOME!!!!!" with anger he jumped into the air in attempt to destroy the demon that hurt Kagome. But he got pulled back by a net and slammed into the ground, "AHH!! he shouted in pain.
"Inu Yasha!" Kurama shouted.
"Ignore me! Save Kagome!!!"
Kurama looked up and saw the injured Kagome, "Damn!" he cursed.
Kagome opened her eyes to see herself dangling in the air, "...no." she mumbled weakly, "Inu Yasha.." she saw him tied down, Kagome summoned the last ounce of her strength and snapped off the Shikon jewel from her neck,"Here..." Kagome dropped it, it flew all the way down to the ground and laid there waiting to be taken.
Inu Yasha wanted ripped free and grabbed it before any other demon can, "KAGOME!!!!!" he screamed.
She was carried off by the giant demon.
"NOOO!!!!!" Inu Yasha ran after her, but got struck down by a jumbo sized boomerang, "argh!" He looked up and saw Sango in her exterminator suit, "SANGO!! what the fuck was that?!!?"
She did not speak, next was a hurrican sucking everything in, all the demon finally had gone, Inu Yasha used the transformed Tetsuisaga and held on to his dear life. Youko used his vines to restrict himself too. Inu Yasha knew it was Miroku, "Miroku!! you can stop now!! all the demons are gone!!" he shouted, but the wind was still blowing, he looked up and saw Miroku, "What the hell are you doing Miroku?!?!?!!!!"
Miroku kept letting his hand flow freely.
"Give up Inu Yasha!! It's not them!! can't you see?!!?" Kurama yelled.
"WHAT?!"
It was true, Sango and Miroku stood there watching them suffer, they were not themselves, their pupils were red, not the normal color.
"NO!!! what the hell is going on with you two!?!?!" Inu Yasha used his claw and started chopping off everything around him really quickly.
"What are you doing?!?!" Youko yelled.
"Just do what I'm doing!!" and so they bothe began to cut everything as fast as they can. pretty soon the whole forest was gone. Miroku started weakening, there was no way he could suck that much in, and so he withdrew the wind tunnel and landed back.
Youko Kurama leaped for him and tied him down.
Sango was next, she fought with Inu Yasha intensely giving her all.
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOU PROBLEM?!?!" again she gave no answer, "Sango!! what's wrong!?" she kept attacking Inu Yasha.
"Bring her down Inu Yasha! It's no use! they're possesed!!"
"Fine!! whatever you say!!" he punched her right in the face and she was knocked out cold, "Argh....what the hell is going on!"
"I don't know, Inu Yasha...I know you have hate towards us, but please accept our help this time, I believe I've heard of this puppet master before, he was a great demon, much stronger than Naraku..."
Inu Yasha didn't bother to argue, not when Kagome's life was a stake.
