Chapter 7. "Blackmail"
The ox stomped away smiling with victory, although he did not retrieve what he needed, he got half of his master's requirments. Suddenly, a whip lashed out at him making him stumble back causing an earthquake.
"Who dares strike me!" It raged.
"Release her..." Sesshomaru appeared in front of him floating up in the air to reach his height.
"Argh....you are just a mere demon! get out of my way!"
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at the unwise Ox demon, he almost stuck it with his glowing whip when something got in the way. It was another smaller demon, Sesshomaru withdrew his weapon and observed the tiny demon succumb.
The Ox stood back in surprise too, he then realized, "Mu-Master!" he kneeled down, once again causing the earth to shake.
"Hm, hm..." A voice echoed a chuckle. A man, no...he was a demon, emerged from out of nowhere, Sesshomaru could not see his face because it was covered in a dark brown hooded cloak.
"Who are you." Sesshomaru asked.
"....I am known by the name, Ryozo, the puppet master. I am glad to finally meet you, Sesshomaru-sama." he smiled.
"Do I know you."
"Nay, but I know you...I know all about you, at least all that I can know from what I have heard from y0our father."
Sesshomaru benumbed, "What do you know of my father..."
"Oh, I know that he was a powerful demon...he and I used to fight."
*Fight?...my father spoke of a puppet master when I was just a pup...so it is him...he still survives...* Sesshomaru thought, "You are the one he spoke about, the puppet master."
"But of course..."
"Why are you alive and well?...My father defeated you and sealed you away long ago."
"Simple, Revenge." his grin spread wider, "Since your father has departed from this world, I shall aim for his offsprings, and you are the first on my ballot." Sesshomaru glared at him,".....Now, now....don't look at me that way.....do you really think I would want to hurt such a lovely woman?......I really don't care about the young lass, I want the Shikon no tama..."
He growled and attacked Ryozo, he dodged and so did Sesshomaru to attack him again. Ryozo smiled and revealed his katana, Sesshomaru drew his Toukijin out, the two swords clashed, and as Sesshomaru suspected, the Toukijin overpowered Ryozo. He retreated next to his Ox minion and smiled, "Humh humh...Sesshomaru-sama....you are a spitting image of your father. We shall try again to see if you really are worthy of being his son, but until then..." Ryozo disappeared along with the Ox demon AND Kagome, "if you wish to have her back, then give me the Shikon no tama or she will suffer and die by my hands..."
Sesshomaru withdrew his Toukijin and growled.

A soft purring rang in their ears.
"Mhm...." he groaned as his headache was getting stronger, it was Kirara's soft cry that woke him. He sat up and realized what happened before, "Oh kami...Sango-chan, Sango! wake up!"
"Mmmm......" she opened her eyes, "what happened.?"
"I..I think we were possessed...I remember trying to draw Inu Yasha and the Youko Kurama into my wind tunnel....and you."
"I..I was trying to attack Inu Yasha with my hirakotsu..."
"Oh no," Miroku got up quickly and went outside, he saw Inu Yasha, Youko Kurama, Hiei, Yusuke, Kazuma, and Shippou all there, they all turned to see him standing in the doorway, "...Inu Yasha, Kurama...I'm...gomen nasai...I didn't mean to."
"Save it monk, I know what happened, it's not your fault." Inu Yasha assured.
Sango smiled and was reliefed that her friends understand.
"We were just talking about the kidnapping of Kagome..." Yusuke frowned.
Miroku a small noise that sounded like a gasp, "Ka-Kagome-chan kidnapped?..."
"No..." Sango said in disbelief.
"Sorry guys, don't worry though! we'll get her back! because the great Ka-"
"No one cares you ugly buffoon." Hiei said.
"Shut up half pint! or should I say quarter pint! you shouldn't say anything if your stupefied!!"
"Pfh....you don't even know how to SPELL stupefied..."
"What?!!?"
"Please! let's concentrate on the issue right now." Kurama yelled.
"Hn"
"Okay, so from what I've heard, who we're dealing with is a puppet master, I don't know much about him...what about you Sango?" Inu Yasha turned to her.
"Pu-puppet master?! b-but that's impossible! he's been sealed away by another demon...that demon was a inu youkai just like you Inu Yasha..."
"Me?..." he stood up, "do you mean my father?!"
"Possibly.." she shook her head, "I don't know.......but I know that the Puppet master is very dangerous...he can control anyone if he gets a hold of you...and he create his own demons....I have heard stories about my ansestors, how they have encountered him many times, and they called him Ryozo...he was never captured before...simply too powerful....more than malise, and decieving than Naraku. It's almost impossible to kill him....We, the demon exterminators have tried avoiding him, but it was no use, we kept running into his demons, his demons were hard enough already..."
"So, you can tell the demons apart right? I mean they have that symbol on their forehead, it looks like a Y but cocked to the side more."
"Hai, my father told me. My father said he has encountered one of those demons before, it was a giant Ox demon."
"Ox demon?!" Inu Yasha tensed, "he's the one that took Kagome away! tell me Sango, do you know where this Ryozo dwells?"
"I'm afraid I do not know...but I do know where he was sealed...he might be there....."
"then what are we waiting for let's go!" Inu Yasha felt a rock thrown at his head, "Ittai!!! what the hell was that for?!"
"Hold your horses dog-boy, we have to plan how to get Kagome back." Yusuke said.
"Oh...so now we're thinking, well there's a big challenge for you."
"What was that?!"
"Stop it please! I can't stand this! "Shippou wailed, "I want Kagome-chan back as much as anyone does! I came here to help save her!! anyway I can!!"
They all looked down and there was silence for a moment.
"..Alright then.....what do we do next?" Inu Yasha asked.
"Well, first of all, we have to know why Ryozo has taken Kagome away.." Miroku said, "the only resonable explaination is that Ryozo.." he was cut off by the gray clouds overhead. It vanished and Sesshomaru dropped down from the sky setting down in front of them.
"What do you want!" Inu Yasha growled.
"The Shikon jewel."
"Why?" Kurama questioned.
"To get her back."
"...so Ryozo wants the Shikon no tama in trade for Kagome...I could have figured that." Hiei said.
"It's only obvious, and I still can't believe that you actually care for Kagome.." said Inu Yasha.
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at him, "Do not question me little brother..."
"Feh....We're not give'n to ya, we need it to save her too...besides if you give it to him then-"
"You think I don't know that?....I know the powers of the Shikon no tama and what drought it can bring if Ryozo possesses it...I will not just give it to him in trade for...I of course strategize unlike you.."
"OOOOOooo diss!!!" Yusuke yelled.
"Shut up!"
"Don't deny it, you can't save her with your plans.."
"Oh yeah!!?!"
Eyes switched from Sesshomaru to Inu Yasha, and Inu Yasha to Sesshomaru as they verbaly battled.
"You should stop making a fool out of yourself, enough with this dispute, it will be better if we just discuss what I've come to here to discuss about." Sesshomaru concluded, "I want to save Kagome as much as you do Inu Yasha."
Inu Yasha eyed him for a moment and took out the jewel, "I won't give it to you...but I will cooperate.."
Sesshomaru nodded, "Fine." he turned toward the Sango, "exterminator, lead the way..."
Sango looked at Inu Yasha then nodded at Sesshomaru.

In a cave where there was nothing but a bed and a couple torches on the walls, Kagome awoke with a throbbing headache, she gritted her fangs to compress the pain, "Oh god...where am I?" she looked around.
"In one of my chambers my dear.." a demon appeared before her.
"(gasp!)...wh-who are you!" Kagome back away to the bed post, "...you....your the puppet master aren't you?!"
"That is correct little girl." the demon appeared out of the shadows, Kagome could see him fully now. He had long black hair tied back, and white inner Kimono, and a purple one outside of it, with a brown cloak drapped over him. He had red pupil-less eyes and a blue Y shaped symbol ont the side of each cheek.
"What do you want?! why'd you kidnap me?!"
"I didn't intend on telling you, but if you must know then I will. You see my lady..."
"Kagome."
"heh, of course Lady Kagome....I brought to here to get what I need from your beau....I want the Shikon no tama."
"Do you really think he would give it to you?" she retorted harshly.
"Which he are you talking about?.." Ryozo smiled.
"...Um...." Kagome blushed.
"I know about your complications my dear...no need to hide anything." he sat on the edge of the bed making eye contact, "you looked stressed from what I've seen, do you need anything?..."
"I do, I need to get out of here."
"You have quite the personality..."
"Was that supposed to be a compliment...?"
"If you wish so."
"Why do you want the jewel anyway?" she hissed.
"I'm suprised that you would ask that, you have been around many other demons seeking the jewel...and yet you do not know why I want it?...It's quite simple............power, revenge, pleasure...all the hateful things are in the Shikon jewel....and as any other demon, I want it."
"From what I've heard, you want the jewel to get your power back, after a demon sealed you to this foresaken place."
"Ah yes, I'm sure you heard that that demon is Inu Yasha's father..."
Kagome went wide-eyed, "You serious? b-but then...get how'd you free?"
"I had waited for almost a century, the puppets I have created were still impeling and seeking to restore my body and my soul back."
"You have a soul?" T.T'
"Humh...hai, and eventually I gained enough hatred to come back to the living, and work on revenge. I found out that the dog youkai that had sealed me this that fate had already gone, but his sons weren't.....you see, I have been studying you and your companions for the past months, from the time Kikyo had recieved the Shikon no tama, to the time Naraku was defeated."
"Naraku..." she said his name, "you should know that you're worse than him.."
"Of course...I gave life to the fragile onigumo's body."
"...." O.O "WHAT..?"
"Hai, are you suprised? I gave life to that pathetic human, I sent my demon puppets to linger on his flesh and convert him to a powerful hanyou. I knew his hatred for Inu Yasha and that was exactly what I needed. And in doing so he killed the priestess Kikyo, and Kikyo sealed Inu Yasha to a tree for 50 years. I had plenty of time to plot, then I discovered about his first son Sesshomaru. Fifty years of plotting and waiting, it is finally beginnning to take action."
Kagome was shocked at that one piece of information, "....N..N...Naraku was a HALF DEMON?"
T.T', "Were you listening to what I had to say?"
"Er....not really, it was kinda boring cause I knew all that...well, except for the Naraku hanyou part......oh and of course you helping Naraku become what he was....Whew didn't see that one coming..^^' "
"I was refreshing your memory then.."
"No thanks I'm good."
"Very well....I shall leave to your solitary." after he left Kagome sighed.
*Finally! stupid jerk left! I have to find a way out of here!!please Inu Yasha, Kurama, I hope you guys are okay..*
