Anime Anarchy- Book 1- Chapter 1: "Anime Detectives"

Notes: After Ash and I constantly IMing and e-mailing each other, we've finally come up with the first chapter. Matoko Shizaki wrote the prologue and this chapter is a combined effort. Mei and Matoko landed in a heap on the grass. Matoko rolled off of her friend and moaned, "Man, that wasn't the most graceful landing." Mei nodded and then studied the new landscape. "It looks like we aren't in Kansas anymore, Matoko." "But we didn't even start in Kansas!" Matoko said curiously while brushing the dirt off of her arms. "That isn't what I meant," Mei replied smiling slyly. "Well, I wonder where we are now." "Um hm, and how much did we change exactly, in appearance I mean. I only hope… AH!!" "What's the matter?" Mei asked, worried. "My- my eyes! They're three times too big! And really bright!!!" Matoko wailed. Mei sweat dropped. "Matoko, calm down. Remember, we knew this was going to happen." Matoko smiled dumbly. "Oh yeah! Anime eyes are just weird to get used to I guess." Mei helped Matoko to her feet. "I would agree with you, but I remembered to ready for anything. This is anime, I mean." "Yeah, we should be ready for anything. I only hope that nothing gets screwed up. Bad luck seems to follow us, you know." Mei nodded taking their misfortune into consideration. "Don't worry, we'll be fine. Anyways, my hair and eye color looks normal for a change." She said fingering her blue locks. "Well, people won't stare at you silver highlights and purple highlights here. I mean, look at Botan, Bra, and Bulma." "And the list goes on." Mei added. Matoko laughed a little. "Like the energizer bunny. So, let's figure out where we landed. I want to find Kuwabara as soon as possible." Hearts sprung in to both girls' eyes. "Oh and remember to act normal Mei." "Yeah," Mei paused. "Matoko?" "Yeah?" "Look down…"

Both girls were now dressed in the ugliest Japanese schoolgirl outfits you'd ever seen. They had their socks up to their knees and cute little slippers on. In their hands were school bags loaded with supplies. "Ew, ugly school uniforms… I hate skirts! Wait! That can only mean one thing!" Matoko exclaimed. Mei smiled. "Yu Yu Hakusho!" They screamed in unison.

Back at the lab, Dr. Abate was typing furiously at the machine. "This is bad! Bad, bad, bad!" Mr. Fujisawa smacked the raving doctor. "Shut up! Now what's bad?" Dr. Abate adjusted his glasses even though his hands were trembling frantically. "Well, because of those boys creating a disturbance in the conversion, they've released a virus into the anime world." Mr. Komoda seized the scientist by the collar. "What do you mean a virus?!" "I mean that this virus is lending powers to the evil forces in all of these animes!" Mr. Komoda dropped Dr. Abate. "Is there anyway we can stop it?" "One way…" Mr. Okoyama said. "We get the girls to defeat the virus." Mr. Fujisawa nodded. "Dr. Abate, get a hold of the girls!"

Something on Mei's wrist buzzed just as they had started walking towards the school. "I didn't know we had watches." Matoko said watching as Mei glared at hers. Suddenly, Mr. Fujisawa's stern face appeared on the monitor instead of the time. "AH! My watch is possessed!" Mei screamed rearing back. "Calm down. We have more important things to talk about." "Mr. Fujisawa?" Matoko said in wonder. The man nodded. "Well, you and the anime world are in great danger." "What happened?" Matoko interrupted. "Oh no! Kuwabara's dead?" Mei cried, her purple eyes getting larger. "NO, NO, NO! When you entered through the portal, a virus came in after you. It lends more and more power to evil forces inside the animes." "Well what can we do?" Mei asked. "You have to stop it." "Cool! We get to be anime detectives?" Matoko asked childishly. Mr. Fujisawa scowled. "Something like that. Now, in your pockets are your I.D. cards for this world. They explain everything about you. You need to find somewhere to stay as well. You've been enrolled in Sariaski Jr. High." "What about money?" Mei asked. "Remember those anime hopper passes I gave you two?" The girls nodded. "They work like never ending credit cards. You never have to pay. Now, good luck." The picture went out and Mei smiled. "Money…" the girls said drooling.

Matoko whipped out her I.D. card. "Hey, my name is Kitsune Konno. I'm 14 and have…" That's when Matoko realized she didn't look the same. "I'm blond!" she cried. Mei laughed and pulled out her card. "Hmm, I'm Sari Osaka. I'm 14 too. Looking the same!" Matoko frowned. "Hey, Mei?" "Yeah?" "What ever happened to those perverted boys?"

"Ugh, where the hell are we?" Jin asked rubbing his sore head. "I don't know man, I think we're in an anime." Chaos replied. "At least we're not dead." Jin sighed. "C'mon! Let's find those hot girls again!" Chaos exclaimed drooling. "Baka! What did I tell you? We're here to see anime, not girls!" "Well, anime and girls, they go hand in hand. Anyways, if you find a hot anime babe, what are you going to say? We both know I'm the master when it comes to girls!" Chaos explained. "Fine, when we find out where we are, we'll look for girls." Chaos smiled a grin that took up most of his face. "Alright!"

They began walking and slowly, the scenery started to sink in. "Wait a sec Chaos, what anime are we in?" Chaos shrugged. "Don't know. It has normal surroundings though…" "Look at our uniforms. That may give us a hint." The boys were both dressed in plain, navy jumpsuits with loafers on and satchels at their sides. "Hey! It's that one with the Urameshi guy!" Chaos cried. Jin slapped his hand over Chaos's big mouth. "Shut up! It's called Yu Yu Hakusho. We have to act normal. And don't go screaming Urameshi! Kids are afraid of him and you never know when someone'll jump us!" Chaos smiled slyly and pried Jin's hand off of his mouth. "Yes sir, I mean madam." Jin strangled Chaos. "I didn't mean it!" Chaos squeaked. Jin let go. "Anyway, those girls liked that Kuwabara dude from this show. If we find him, we find the girls." "Wait!" Chaos pulled a card out of his breast pocket. "This says my name is Lee Chang." Jin pulled out his. "I'm Rashi Komoda. This is creepy. We must have gotten new identities. They also say we go to Sariaski Jr. High." Chaos grinned. "That's where that Kuwabara guy goes!" "Well, we should get to school." Jin said with a sigh.

The girls, on the other hand, weren't having much luck either. "Jeez, Mei, as much as we watch the show, you think we'd be able to find Kuwabara!" "Yeah, I mean, man, we've looked over the whole freaking town!" People stopped to stare at the strange girls making their way down the sidewalk towards Sariaski Jr. High. "People are going to think we know Yusuke. You don't want to get in a fight, do you Mei?" Mei grinned. "If someone wants a fight, they can just come and get it! We do have special powers you know. At least that's what Mr. Fujisawa said." "Lest I forget…" Matoko muttered. "What's that supposed to mean?" Mei asked. "Nothing, but you remind me about your powers every two minutes." "Sorry." Mei said sweat dropping. "C'mon, let's keep searching." Matoko said.

Suddenly the girls heard a familiarly husky voice. They turned around to see a tall, brash, redhead walking by with his friends. "Kuwabara!" The girls said in wonder. Mei took off after Kuwabara but Matoko grabbed her collar. "Mei! Cut it out! We aren't here to manipulate the animes to our liking; we're supposed to be saving them! Anyways, we can't compare with Yukina." Mei pouted. "Well, at least we should talk to them!" she said. "Later. First, we're late for school!" Matoko cried. Mei and Matoko took off running down the street, dodging the cars, and hoping they reached the school before first bell.

It was four o'clock and Yusuke and Kuwabara strolled down the street past the canal where the boats passed through. "What did you think of those four new students Urameshi?" Kuwabara asked. Yusuke shrugged and jammed his hands into his pockets. "I'm not sure. There's something strange about those two girls, Kitsune and Sari." Kuwabara smiled. "I think they had a thing for me. They kept looking at me all day!" Yusuke laughed. "Sure, you wish."

"There they are!" Jin cried racing across the lawn of a house after the two girls ahead of him. "Are you sure it's them?" Chaos panted. Jin nodded. "I'm sure of it!" Matoko and Mei turned around only to be tackled by Jin and Chaos.

All four lay on the ground, swirls in their eyes. Mei finally came to her senses and realized that Jin was above her, his hands on her boobs. "We finally found you guys!" Jin said. Chaos had fallen face first into Matoko's boobs and her shirt muffled his laughing. "You perverts!" Mei cried kicking Jin off of her and shoving Chaos off of her friend. Matoko sat up. "Don't you ever touch me there again!" Matoko cried, veins popping out of her forehead. Chaos laughed. "They're soft." He chuckled to himself. Jin grabbed Mei's shoulders. "Chill! We didn't mean it." Mei struggled her free herself from his grip as Yusuke and Kuwabara watched a few feet away.

"Looks like trouble, huh Kuwabara?" Yusuke asked. Kuwabara nodded and unbuttoned his school jacket. "I say we help them." The two boys charged, suddenly stopping when Mei's, or Sari's, fists became incased in purple fire and she dealt a hard blow to Jin's jaw. Matoko summoned a light sword in her hand and using it like a baseball bat, she swung and knocked Chaos a few feet away from her. Right about now, Yusuke and Kuwabara's eyes were about as big ask volleyballs but they approached the girls anyway. "So they have spiritual energy too." Hiei muttered from where he was perched in the tree.

"Are you okay?" Matoko dusted off her shoulders. "Yeah, we're… fine…" Her last couple of words trailed off as she and Mei realized that Yusuke and Kuwabara were standing in front of them. Mei held Matoko back from jumping onto Kuwabara and sputtered, "You guys are Yusuke Urameshi and Kazuma Kuwabara!" Kuwabara nodded, proud that his name had already reached the new students. "Are who are you?" Kuwabara asked. "I'm Sari and this is Kitsune." Mei explained. Matoko could only wave she was so happy. "Who are they?" Yusuke asked pointing to the two boys who lay on the ground moaning. "Oh that's…" Jin interrupted Mei. "We're Lee and Rashi." Kuwabara seized them by the collar and lifted them off of the ground. "And what do you think you're doing seducing these two girls?" Mei and Matoko smiled slyly at the boys. "I think you have some explaining to do." Yusuke said cracking his knuckles.

"And that's how and why we're here." Matoko said. Genkai sat down her cup of tea as Yusuke and Kuwabara starred at the girls, bewildered. "I suppose it's possible. I've felt the dark forces stirring." Genkai said. "How do we know you're not lying?" Mei grinned at Kuwabara. "We know all about you guys." Yusuke leaned forward. "Like what?" The raven-haired boy questioned the girls further. "Well, you love Keiko, Yusuke." Matoko said with a big smile. Yusuke blushed and Kuwabara burst out laughing. "Shut up!" Yusuke hissed at his best friend. "Do you have somewhere to stay?" Genkai asked the four kids while Kuwabara and Yusuke continued fighting. "No." Mei said. Yusuke stopped fighting for a moment. "You two girls can stay at my place. My mom won't mind. If anyone asks, your exchange students." Mei and Matoko smiled. "Thanks Yusuke." Genkai grinned evilly. "That means you boys are going to be staying with me." Jin and Chaos swallowed hard. "That doesn't sound good." Chaos whispered to Jin. Jin nodded, agreeing with his friend as Genkai got up. "And perverts aren't easily tolerated here in my temple." The old lady said.

Mei settled into her bed on the floor of the guest room in the Urameshi's apartment and pulled the futon (Japanese quilt) up to her neck. "So, how was that for a day?" Mei asked her friend who was on the floor next to her. "I don't know. We didn't even get to hug Kuwabara or blow up demons or anything." Matoko replied. "Well we did blow up a couple of perverted boys who tackled us." Mei said with a giggle. Matoko nodded. "Don't blow up tomorrow what you can blow up today!" The girls rolled over to go to sleep. "Hey Matoko?" "Yeah?" "Do you think Jin and Chaos like us?" Matoko smiled. "Definitely. The only question is should we like them back?" The girls looked at each other before bursting out laughing. "Nah!" They said in unison.
