AA1: Okay, do you guys remember that story I was writing called Lost Love, and it totally sucked so I took it down? Well even if you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's okay, cuz this has nothing in common with it. This a story about a girl named Kairuco Haiji. .

Hiei: Ooh, how original!!!! Hn.

AA1: Hey, I just came up with that!!!!!! Now, She is a full blooded fox demon. And She knows this, she figured it out when she was five. A very intelligent child she is. But her mother is a black fox and her father a silver fox. So that turns out to be a very interesting combination. Now this starts when she's seven, and she's playing in a sandbox. And don't worry, it will time skip to were she is fifteen. And Lord Sesshomaru will be a major part of this story, but only as her mentor, nothing more. Hiei will always be first.

Almost a hundred small children were playing together on the playground of Sarayashi( I totally forgot the name of that city, county thing) Elementary school. They all played games like Witch, and House, and Truth or Dare, or they swung on the rubber covered swings and jumped off while the teachers weren't looking. They all were laughing and smiling, enjoying the lives that were so simple. All, except a small girl by the name of Kairocu Haiji.

She sat there calmly, in the sandbox, watching the other children play and have fun. She would have joined them, she usually did, but today, she felt a weight in the air that killed her usually child like attitude. Something was wrong with her parents. She didn't feel their ki, didn't hear them talking to one another. All she heard was silence, all she felt was emptiness, and all she saw in the deep recesses of her mind was death.

But a small, strong hand pushed her out of her very deep thoughts. She looked up to see the school bullies. (Remember, nobody meets Kurama until, like, fourteen) She smiled weakly at them, the two boys who had become her best friends. "Whats wrong Kai-chan?" Asked a slightly concerned Yusuke (okay, just think chibi people. . . OH! SO KAWAII!!) Kuwabara sat down next to her and looked at her with those beady little eyes of his. She shook her head, her unusually silver hair shaking behind her.

" Nothing guys, I just don't feel like playing is all." She said, hoping they would buy it. Yusuke and Kuwabara shrugged and walked off. Yusuke took one last look over at her, then turned to beat up some kid who was trying to hit on Keiko.(@-@ Wow, little kids these days)

She continued sitting until a teacher came up to you. " Kairuco, You are wanted in the office, I'm afraid there is some bad news." Her sad eyes locked with the deep amethyst orbs that she had inherited from her mother. Kairuco nodded, and stood up, brushing the sand from her short, black, pleated skirt. The teacher held out her hand and the two of them walked to the office hand in hand.

When they reached the office, a man with silver hair and amber eyes waited in a chair. When Kairuco came in, he stared at her coldly. The principle approached her slowly, as if she were some frightened animal. "Kairuco, I'm afraid that your parents. . . . well-"

He was interrupted by the man with amber eyes. " Your parents were murdered, onna. Both are dead." Tears swelled up in her adolescent eyes.

"Yes, this is Sesshomaru, your only living relative." She stared wide eyed up at the man. He was cold and distant, but was not malicious or abusive from what she could tell from his ki. She nodded, still staring up at Sesshomaru. What puzzled her was that he was not a fox demon, but was a dog demon.

"Come, kitsune. We must go now." Sesshomaru said to her and walked off. Kairuco followed solemnly, tears running silently down her cheeks and leaving a trail of wet stains on the floor. When the two were finally at his black mustang, he spoke to her. "You will not be attending this school again, kitsune, nor any other. I will be your teacher from now on, and you will learn along side Rin. And before you ask anything, Rin is a foster child, you will like her. She is six." She nodded but continued crying silently, not trusting herself to make a sound.

And so began Kairuco Haiji's life with the great Lord Sesshomaru, who taught her strictly, Rin, the young energetic girl who became like her sister, and Jaken, the secret frog whom she enjoyed torturing so. She were taught about the Ningenkai, as well as the Makai and the Reikai. Taught by a strict man who did not allow slacking and who gave severe punishment. She were trained to become a universal fighter, able to use whatever she had. But still, she were partial to twin daggers. Lord Sesshomaru watched her excel in herr study and training, watched her raise her demon rating a little at a time. Rin, being a human however, did not learn to fight as Kairuco did. She was becoming the perfect woman, learning to cook and clean, learning miner self defense.

And the day that Kairuco finally mastered her transforming, was the worst day of her life. . . .


~ eight years later~


'I am going to do it today!!' She swore to herself as she concentrated on the ki rising within her. 'I will transform!!' She concentrated solely on that ideal, on the possibility of her demon form. And finally the moment came. Ki burst from her and created a dark silver aura around her. Black fox ears with silver tips grew from her head, an ebony fox tail with silver tips made itself known to everyone. She grew silver fox claws and fangs grew sharp and new in her mouth. She smiled as the bright aura calmed and she was able to be seen.

Her uncle in law (Sesshy) smirked while Rin stared in awe and Jaken shook with fear. She smirked as well, then Sesshomaru told her, "Good, Kairuco, but can you transform into a fox as well?" She nodded and concentrated again, but this time on changing into a fox. Within seconds, her body was replaced with a beautiful black and silver fox. She was ebony with silver tipped ears and tail, with paws that looked as if she had been walking through mercury (the liquid, not the planet) and equally silver claws. A silver streak ran down her back to split and run down the trills of her back legs.

Kairuco ran swiftly over to Rin and licked her palm. She kneeled down and said,
"Kai!!! You're so pretty!" Kairuco smiled inwardly and transformed back into human form, but the transforming had been to much, and she feinted from the loss of spirit energy. But before she hit the ground, she heard her uncle say something about Genkai's temple and training there. Then blackness consumed her and not another thought crossed her mind until she woke up the next hour.




"Kai? Kai! Your awake!! Lord Sesshomaru wants to see you. Do you want me to go get him?" The brunette sitting next to her asked earnestly. Kairuco nodded her head to Rin and she immediately went away to bring back their mentor. A few minutes later, Rin came in following Lord Sesshomaru and sat down next to Kairuco's bed once again while he remained standing.

"Kitsune, I am impressed with your improvement and am glad to see that you can finally transform, but I am afraid that you are not yet strong enough spiritually to maintain your demon form for long amounts of time. So I am sending you to Genkai's to train. You will remain there until you are strong enough." He said, emotionless as usual. Tears began gathering in her eyes, but she knew better than to argue with him.

So she said the only thing she trusted herself to. "If that is what you wish, Uncle." He nodded and told her to pack because they would be leaving that night. Rin began crying but helped Kairuco with her clothes and weapons. And that night she left to Genkai's, following Sesshomaru the entire way.

He did not speak, did not glance back, and she walked only, not daring to look back at the home that she loved so.
