Disclaimer: Don't own it... (Damn. But I wouldn't mind).
I would have posted this chapter sooner but I got a virus and I had to use another compurte. The next chapter is almost complete but I don't know when I'll be able to post it. Also I know I said I was going to stay as close to each character's personality as possible but the fact of the matter is I don't know much about Hiei. just that he hates Kuwabara, totally kicks ass, and says he dosn't care but ends up helping in the end. Anywho to stop a long winded paragraph short I'm just going to see how this chapter pans out and if anything needs corection I would appreciate any input.

The sun had finally began to rise over the horizon but Kurama had already been up for hours. He was exhausted from the trip to the Makai, however sleep still eluded him. They had been there from tuesday evening well into the mext night surching for clues as to Yukina's whereabouts. The surch had been a long tedious one. Kuwabara of course didn't wan't to leave. No one could really blame him for that because none of them wanted to go either. Yusuke was finally forced to knock out him and drag him to Genkai's temple. Kurama had offered to stay with Hiei but the fire demon wouldn't have any part of it. As he put it "I'll be able to move faster alone and I have no intentions of dragging you back to the human world once you've collapsed from exhaustion". He stopped speaking for a moment to turn away from his friend. "Besides we left so suddenly yesterday I'm sure you mother is worried about you". Sure it had come out a bit harsh but he knew better than the others not to look into it to much. Even though Hiei was acting colder than usual it was because his sister was being held captive. Kurama knew he was scared and fear was something he wasn't use to dealing with. His strength, both physical and emotional, was something he prided himself on. In Hiei's case weakness of any kind was not an option.
Kurama sat up in the bed, eyes falling on a faded navy blue book. It was the journal he had been reading before they found out Yukina had been abducted. He figured he still had a little while before everyone was awake so he grabbed a time worn book from near his bed so he could continue reading. He had nothing better to do at the moment and truth be told he seemed to have a certian fasination with the girl in the story. Although if you were to go with Hiei's opinion it was more of an unhealthy obsession. Opening to the violet book mark he placed it aside starting from where he had left off on the rooftop.
"Dimitri pulled on me ever so gently, drawing his face to me. Soft lips pressed aginst mine, tenderly at first then harder. The kiss seemed to go on forever when he started to kiss my cheek then down my neck. As he continued and the word around me seemed to fade away. I felt a sharp brief pleasurable pain as he kissed my neck harder. Slowly everthing around me slipped into a world of darkness".
Kurama turned the page only to find much of the paper had been torn away. Frowning, as he looked down at the place where the missing pages should have been then continued reading.
"It's said there is only three things people are obligated to do in life. That is to live, breathe and die, every thing else being optional. I suppose that statement would be true to those who are truly of the world of the living. But what of those who are like me? I am no longer alive nor am I actually dead. Well if you're looking for answers from me I have no freaken idea. What do you think just because I'm one of the Immortals I should have the answers to all of life's questions. The fact is I don't even know how I survived my own transformation. To better understand I suppose I need to explain something first. In the world of vampires there are three types. The first and most common is the Dasvanu. It's bascally your stereotypical undead Dracula vamp. They can't go out in sunlight, aren't able to look at or touch crosses and the whole wholy water thing still applies. Not liking garlic is a total crock of shit and striking them with a wooden stake is only going to get you ass killed".
"The second would be classified as Re-dead. These are pretty much the equivalent of the cockroach of the vampire world. Their form was due to some genetic mutation in one of the carriers. As for the name re-dead I have no idea what the meaning behind that is. They can't fly but they have the ability to jump great distances. In many cases it has been mistaken for the ablilty to take filght. They also have unmistakable facial features. If you've ever seen Buffy the vampire slayer you would have a good idea of what I'm talking about".
"Lastly the least common would be the Soul Eaters and they are, quite litteraly, as the name implies. They feed off of the life enery of their victims. I suppose the Incubus would be the clostest thing to describing them. They are also incrediblely strong, lightning fast and have cat-like agility. One of the main their atributes that sets them apart is the fact they are the only ones immune to sunlight. This makes them ever the more dangerous to the inexperienced hunters. These immortals can easily be consdered a force to be reckoned with. The Undertakers lost many good fighters do to over confidence durring a confrontation a soul eater".
"The third is technically the category I would fall under. Although I have to feed on the energy of my victims I also still need to drink human blood. This itself should be impossible because the three breeds genetic structure are unique to each type and they are unable to combine with one another. Doing so would result in the death of the host body. In my case I can go out in daylight without much of a problem. It does tend to weaken my powers slightly but not to the point of putting me in any danger. It won't kill me if I touch wholy water, but neither would sticking my finger in my eye. Just because something isn't going to kill me doesn't mean I'm going to do it. I have the Re-dead's ablity to jump, the Dasvanu's ability for rapid regeneration and the Sole Eater's speed, strength and agility. As I was saying before I shouldn't even exist, but it's not only the fact I have at least one trait of every species of vampire. I shouldn't have survived my incounter with Dimitri. The truth is even he doesn't know I'm still alive".
"Hey Kurama what'cha doing"?
Placing the book down, he looked to the door to see his friend standing there with his arms crossed over his chest staring down at him. "Hmm... Oh Yusuke I didn't here you come in. Is there any news yet"?
Yusuke averted his gaze form Kurama to the book near his foot. He hated the fact he felt as helpless as the rest of them. Even worse than that was he knew what the waitihng was doing to all of them, espescally Hiei. After Yukina had been kidnaped it was bad enough they had to deal with Kuwabara. It had been nothing short of a miracle they were able to keep Hiei from going on a killing spree looking for his sister. Sure she didn't have any idea they were related, but if it came down to it they all knew he would go through hell and back again to save her.
"No. Nothing yet. Hiei hasn't returned either. Everyone in spirit world is working on it for all the good they can do. Botan said she would contact us if there's any changes but I doubt that's going to be any time soon. So you've been doing some more reading I see".
"I can't help thinking there is something about this girl that's important to the mission. As if there is some sort of connection we're missing".
"Really you don't say. Now would that be the demons or Yukina... or maybe I'm looking at this all wrong".
Kurama though it over for a moment sighing in the process. " Both actually and I realize what this looks like but your mistaken".
"Yeah well I just think you should be careful. I have a bad feeling about it".
Kurama exited the room without another glance toward his friend. Stoping for a moment he said "I understand your concern but I can asure you there is nothing to worry about". With that said he walked out the door and headed towards the entrance to Genkai's temple.
As he walked questions kept working at the back of his mind like what anyone could want with Yukina? It was possable it could be, like with Tarukane, someone was after her tears. The priceless jewels were enough motive if anything. Although the idea was plausible it was highly unlikely that was the case. So why then? Of course there also was the information Koenma wanted him to retrieve from Kegasu corp. What could have been so important he needed one of them to go? It wasn't like he couldn't have just as easily sent someone from spirit world. Then again if it was something he didn't want any of them to know about it didn't make much sense to send him. Of course that theroy made about as much sense as the first.
Kurama stopped walking and rubbed his temples in the attempt to rid himself of the on comming headache. The only thing he was managing to do was think himself in circles. Every answers he could come up with only left more questions. It was going to be a long day to say the least and as he came closer to the temple stairs he finally remembered the journal in the room. Without thinking he turned around, pausing for only a moment when he realized what he had just done.
"I can't shake the feeling this girl holds the answers we're looking for but then again... Maybe Hiei was right. This is becoming more than a simple fasination".
'Of course I am.'
"Hiei? You look like hell".
'You're one to talk. You look like something Kuwabara draged in'.
"... So I assume you've found something".
"A wolf demon. He said if I wanted to get anywhere I'd have to find Zero first".
"I take it he didn't say who this Zero is".
Hiei crossed his arms over his chest letting out an aggrivated breath giving a simple "No". There was another short silence between them. 'He managed to get away'
Kurama was visibly shocked by his statment. For someone to out run Hiei ment they would have to be incredibly fast. It almost made him wounder how the demon was cought in the first place. "Perhaps Koenma knows something".
"I don't like this".
"What can we do? I'll go get Yusuke".
'Fine but leave the Idoit behind. I'm not in the mood for him'.

Darkness surrounded the frightened girl, a dead silence was everywhere around her. She tried to move but her body would not obey her. Her breathe came in a slow rythem, almost as if she wern't alive at all, a heartbeat almost nonexistant. Faint voices could be heard in the distance. She tryed to figure out what they were saying and where it was comming from, but the effore was in vain. Trying to cry out for help wound up being just as fruitless as the attempt to move. A silent despiration crept into the back of her mind taking hold and refusing to let go. Just as she thought all hope was lost she heard a voice call out to her.
'Please don't give up. I'm here for you. I'll keep you safe'.
'Who was that?'
'I'm a friend so you don't have to be afraid. I don't want to hurt you. Just hold out a little longer and help will be on the way'.
'How do you know that?'
'Trust me I'll do everything in my power to make sure you get out of here'.
'Out of here... Where is here?'
'I'm sorry I can't talk anymore right now but I'll be with you if you need me'.
'What are you talking about?' There was nothing else said only silence and the vast abyss surrounding her once more.

I wanted this chapter to be longer than it was and it didn't exactly go how I wanted it to. I've been having some creativity problems. I already know how I'm going to end it but I'm not completely sure about everything in between. Because of that some of this chapter was forced and I'm only hoping it didn't show to much.
