Chapter Twelve: Real Self Reviled

 

^Last Time^

 

Luna

Since I know if I were to go after you directly your father would kill me again and I can't have that happening just yet so because of that I took something from you. If you want your precious fox back follow the directions on the back. Also only you and your `mate' can come and get him back

Karasu

 

Luna dropped the parchment and looked at Darren, anger burning in her eyes. She opened her mouth and said……

^Now^

“He took Kit that bastard Karasu took Kit!” Darren looked at her shocked and picked the parchment up, looking at it. He sighed and took Luna into his arms, rubbing her back slightly he then whispered into her ear, “We will get Kit back I promise you Luna.” Luna put her head on Darren's shoulder and started crying, muttering the whole time that it wasn't fair.

That night Darren and Luna had an unrest full sleep then they woke up and started getting things around. Darren grabbed a full First Aid Kit and a few rags just incase they needed it and Luna grabbed some food and a map so they wouldn't get lost. She also wrote a note telling her parents what was going on and no matter what not to follow them.

Luna left the note on her parent's door then she and Darren left the house. They got in Darren's car and drove to a portal that lead to Maikai which was supposed to be near them. When they got to the portal they saw a few demons coming threw it. Darren walked up to the portal, Luna behind him and Darren busted passed all of the demons then grabbed Luna's hand.

When they got to Maikai Luna felt a chill go down her spine that caused her to grab tightly onto Darren's right arm. He looked at her asking, “What's wrong Luna?” “Something here doesn't feel right,” said Luna. “Come on lets go get Kit back,” said Darren and picked Luna up bridal style. Luna nodded her head, but while Darren was running from that spot she couldn't help but feel like they were being watched.

In a cave far away from the two one of Karasu's lackeys was watching them from a spy camera tied to a bird. Kit was in a cage near the lackey and was thrashing about trying to get free. The lackey looked at Kit and threw a bone at him saying, “Stop that you little brat the last thing I need is for you to get hurt.” Kit just growled at him and thrashed at the cage again just wanting to get out so he could see Luna and Darren again. He thrashed agenst the cage again then yelped in pain as he felt and herd his left should pop out of its socket. Kit started whimpering and the lackey after a while walked over to the cage getting irritated he then called over another guard and then unlocked the cage door. Kit tried to bolt but his shoulder prevented him from doing so and the guard grabbed Kit, putting a muzzle on him. Then the lackey grabbed Kit's shoulder and leg tightly. The lackey then rammed Kit's leg up effetely popping his shoulder back in place and for Kit to cry out in pain .The lackey smirked saying, “That's what happened when you try to break steel with your shoulder runt.” Kit just growled at the lackey and limped to the middle of the aces. Kit laid down and curled up into a ball falling asleep, whimpering for Luna and Darren the whole time.

^A Month Later^

Darren and Luna were fast asleep by a lake, the first body of water they had come a crossed the whole month they had been traveling. Luna was curled up agenst Darren, in the back of her mind she hoped she wouldn't wake up sick again. For the past twelve days she had been waking up feeling whose then throwing up. Darren was starting to get worried but never said anything he only held her hair back and rubbed Luna's back.

Luna's eyes snapped open and she bolted up, waking Darren in the process. Luna bent down in a bush throwing up, Darren ran over to her and rubbed Luna's back as usual. When Luna finally stopped Darren picked her up and walked over to the lake. He sat Luna down then getting a cup of water from the lake. Darren walked back over and gave her the cup; he then pulled Luna into his lap. While she took a drink to get the taste of vomit out of her mouth Darren started sniffing around her to see if she was sick.

Something caught his nose and he sniffed a few more times before smiling. He kissed Luna on the left ear causing her to look back at Darren. “What do you feel about kids?” whispered Darren into Luna's ear. Luna titled her head slightly confused and said, “I like them and want to have kids someday why?” “Looks like your going to get your wish,” said Darren. “You mean I'm pregnant,” said Luna. Darren nodded his head and Luna threw her arms around his neck, kissing Darren. Darren kissed her back then pulled away saying, “Well I guess your happy.” Luna nodded her head, a smile on her face for the first time in a month.

After the two calmed down enough they packed their things up and started out to find Kit again. Luna had a still on a smile on her face, which changed when the came a crossed a cave and she smelled Kit as well as hearing him whining. Luna and Darren ran into the cave and saw the lackey bearing Kit.

They lackey started beating Kit with am iron pole and hadn't seen Luna or Darren walk into the cave. The lackey was to fascinated with beating Kit because Kit bit him on the hand. With every strike it brought blood to the surface and caused Kit to cry out in pain, even though he was trying not to. The lackey stopped mid swing when he herd two low menacing growls behind him. He turned and saw Darren and Luna growling at him, Luna's ears flat agenst her skull and both had their fangs showing.

Kit painfully turned his head and saw Luna and Darren. He started wagging his tail and yipped almost happily, even though it had an underline of pain in it. Luna herd the pain in the yip and almost ran over to Kit but stopped when the lackey pulled a small bag out of his pocket.

The lackey was smiling and said, “So do either of you know what this fox really is?” Darren shock his head and Luna looked at the lackey confused. The lackey started laughing then smirked saying, “Well then why don't I show you two.” Before either one of them could stop him the lackey opened the bag and poured powder all over Kit. The lackey started saying an ancient chant and a blue light engulfed Kit.

While in the light Kit started to change. His face started changing to look more human and his fur left his body. His back started to straighten and his back legs and paws turned into legs and feet that looked like a humans. His front legs shifted and turned into arms while his paws started turning into hands. His ears moved to the top of his head, staying red fox ears and he started to grow red hair down to his shoulders. Kit's tail stayed where it was at and his eyes also stayed blue which were the few things that didn't seem to change. Also his fangs grew slightly and his hand grew claws, Kit letting out screams of pain the whole time this was happening.

While this was happening Luna ran at the lackey, not really knowing what he was doing to Kit. While Luna ran at the lackey Darren teleported behind him and tapped the lackey on the shoulder, the lackey turned to meet Darren's fist in his face. Darren smirked at a sickening crunch that meant he had broken the lackey's nose and maybe even jaw. The lackey turned his head and stumbled foreword while holding his nose, which was gushing blood.

Luna stopped in front of the lackey, her right hand glowing bright green. Liquid dripped from her claws and melted the ground when it touched it, also making it hiss and smoke form. The lackey got close to Luna and she thrusted her claws into his stomach. She didn't stop until her hand was sticking out of the lackey's back, her hand covered in blackish red blood that slowly dripped form her hand. Luna stuck her thumb straight up in the air before ripping her hand out of the lackey hard which caused the wound to get worse.

Luna looked at the lackey, disgusted in her eyes and she shook the blood off of her hand. She then walked behind the lackey and stopped to stand next to Darren. Luna watched silently as the acid from her claws worked its way up from the stomach wound she inflicted. The skin was slowly disengaging and the lackeys internal organs were bursting, but the blood dissolved before it ever hit the ground. The lackey was unfortunate enough to be alive while this was happening and screaming out in pain the whole time. His skin finally stopped dissolving just before it got to his chest but the acid kept traveling to his heart making it burst and for the lackey to die instantly.

The lackey fell to the ground dead just as the light engulfed around Kit disappeared. Luna ran over to Kit and saw that he looked like a red spirit fox. Kit opened his eyes and looked at Luna saying, “Well I guess you now know.” Luna scooped Kit into her arms just as Darren was walking over to the two of them. Darren looked at Kit and saw that he looked no older then seven years old; also he saw that Kit's arms and back were covered in cuts.

Kit looked at Darren then at Luna saying, “Can I still stay with you mom, dad even though you know I'm a really a spirit fox?” “Mom?” said Luna, “Kit do you see me as your mother?” Kit nodded his head saying, “Yes I always have and I see Darren as my dad.” Luna kissed Kit on the forehead and Darren said, “Why would we make you leave just because you're a spirit fox…son.” Kit looked at Darren saying, “You mean it?” Darren nodded his head and Luna smiled saying, “Your going no where Kit, my little boy.” Kit smiled and slightly hugged her, his wounds on his back and arms stopping him from giving Luna a proper hug.

Luna stood up and Darren took Kit from her arms. He held Kit, being careful of his cuts. The three off them turned and walked out of the cave, heading back towards their campsite so they could take care of Kit's wounds.
