Chapter Thirteen: Going Home

 

The two walked to the campsite and Darren carefully handed Kit to Luna. She held him, being careful of the wounds on his back and neck and sat down near the lake. Kit moved to lie down in Luna's lap and looked up at her saying, “Mom what are you doing?” “Fixing your wounds Kit,” said Luna then rubbed Kit behind his left ear and Darren came back with the first aid kit in his hand. He then took Kit's shirt off to get better access to his back and see the full extend of his injuries.

Darren took the disinfectant spray out of the first aid kit and started spraying it over the cuts on Kit's back. Kit thrashed when the spray hit his skin and nearly took Darren's hand off when he sprayed his arms. “I'm sorry Kit I had to do it so that the wounds wouldn't become infected,” said Darren. Kit nodded his head while sniffing alittle like most little kids do when they are in pain or have been crying. Luna smiled slightly and then put cream over Kit's wounds then helped Darren put the wraps around Kit's back and arms. Kit whined alittle while they did that but stayed still so they could finish it quicker.

Also while they were doing this Kit had gotten a good whiff of Luna's sent and looked up at her, a confused look on his face. Seeing his confused look Luna asked, “What's wrong Kit?” “You smell different but I can't tell why,” said Kit. Darren smiled and ruffled Kit's hair, being careful of his ears and said, “So do you want a little brother or sister?” Kit looked at him, his eyes widening alittle saying, “Do you mean mom is pregnant.” Luna nodded her head saying, “Yes, looks like in a few months you're going to be a big brother Kit.” Kit smiled and hugged Luna lightly, him liking the idea of being a big brother.

That night Kit was sitting between Darren and Luna while talking about what had happened in the past month. Like how he was stuffed into a cage, yelled at, treated poorly, and finally whipped for telling the lackey to bite himself. When darkness finally fell Luna laid down and Darren laid down next to her, putting Kit between them. Kit snuggled close to Luna before closing his eyes feeling safe for the first time in what seemed like forever, even though it was only a month.

 

^Two Month Later^

Kit was ridding on Luna's back laughing as they entered a very familiar forest. Luna was smiling as she watched the two and was holding Darren's hand. They walked up to her parent's house and saw that both cars were in the driveway as well as Ukina and Kuwabara's van. Luna smiled saying, “Looks like Ukina and Kazuma are here.” Kit whined alittle saying, “Great a seven year old pulling my tail I really hope Mika isn't with them.” Darren laughed and the three of them walked to the door, Kit still on Darren's shoulder.

Kurama and Keyla were in the living room talking to Kuwabara and Ukina, Mika on the floor playing. Their conversation was broken when there was a knock on the door. Keyla sighed and stood up walking up to the door then opening it. She was about to ask what they wanted until she saw that it was Luna and Darren standing there. Keyla smiled throwing her arms around Luna giving her a hug and was about to give Darren one until she saw Kit on his shoulder. “Who is that?” asked Keyla pointing to Kit. “Lets go meet dad then I'll explain,” said Luna. “Alright then,” said Keyla and they walked into the living room.

Kurama saw Luna and stood up from his chair so fast that it fell backwards to the ground. Kurama threw Luna into a giant hug, having missing her so much. “Dad can I get off of your shoulder now?” asked Kit. “Sure,” said Darren and lifted Kit off of his shoulder. Keyla and Kurama looked at Kit surprised and Kurama said, “Who is that?” Luna moved away from Kurama and picked Kit up saying, “Its Kit, he was really a spirit fox.” “Um hey,” said Kit, being a little nerves. Ukina and Kuwabara stood up, Ukina picking Mika up saying, “I think we will give you a chance to catch up bye Kurama, Keyla.” “Bye you three be careful,” said Keyla.

Darren and Luna sat down on the couch after they saw Ukina and Kuwabara leave the driveway. Luan sat down in Darren's lap and his hand rested on her lower stomach. Kurama didn't notice this though but Keyla did even though she decided to say anything and Kit tugged on Keyla's pant leg. Keyla looked down at him and Kit asked, “Is it alright if I call you and Kurama Grandma and Grandpa?” Keyla smiled nodding her head since she liked the idea and he looked over at Kurama who smiled saying, “Sure I like that.” Kit smiled and walked over and sat down on the couch next to Luan and Darren.

Kurama finally noticed Darren's hand on Luna's stomach and said, “Have something else you want to tell us you two?” Luna smiled and Darren nodded his head, his hand still resting on the slight bulge on Luna's stomach. “Mom, Dad I'm pregnant,” said Luna. “You are how far?” asked Keyla. “Um three months,” said Luna. Kurama smiled and stood up patting Darren on the back saying, “Congratulations, oh and watch out for mood swings.” Kurama laughed after saying that and everyone started planning for the baby.
