They arrived back at Kurama's house, Armina immediatly went into her room as Kuwabara went into Kurama's.
"So what did she tell you?" Yusuke asked almost immediatly.
"I can't tell any of you. She actually trusted me enough to tell me about what she is and what her life was like before she came here. I promised I wouldn't tell anyone." He said, Yusuke sighed and hit him upside the head.
"You bakka, we're your team mates and you're supposed to tell us anything that involves someone who could kill us in our sleep. Or did you already forget about me telling you that she tried to kill me." He shouted. Kuwabara punched him in the face.
"You better back the fuck off, I'm not a liar like you and I actually keep my promises." He yelled. Yusuke touched his nose and saw how it was bleeding. Yusuke was shocked, Kuwabara had actually hit him and drew blood.
"What the fuck did she do to you?" Yusuke asked. Kuwabara glared at him.
"Nothing, just made me realize that some people have a more fucked up life than me." He said, sitting down on the floor near Kurama's bed.
"So what do we do from here?" He asked, Kurama, who was shocked from how Kuwabara had just acted, shook his head and answered.
"We wait for her to go to sleep, then Hiei uses his Jagan to look into her mind and we find out what we need to know about her." Kurama said.
"So what should we do until she goes to sleep?" Yusuke asked, tissues he had found on Kurama's desk shoved up his nose to slow the blood.
"I don't know, we could go out for a bit."
"Do you think your mom would let us watch T.V.?" Yusuke asked.
"I believe so."
"Then lets do that." Kuwabara said, getting up and stretching. Kurama held the door open as Yusuke and Kuwabara left.
"Hiei, would you like to join us?" He asked. Hiei sighed.
"No, someone needs to stay and listen for her to go to bed."
"I suppose you're right. If you want to join us you're more than welcome." He said, shutting the door. He noticed how the light was off in Armina's room, it shouldn't be that long before she went to bed. He entered the living room and saw how Yusuke and Kuwabara were bickering over what to watch. He sighed and picked up the remote, turning it to the history channel which was showing a documentary on werewolves mythology.
"I guess we're watching this." Yusuke grumbled, flopping down on the couch. Kuwabara sat down next to Kurama.
"Any reason why we're watching this?"
"I always watch the history channel when I get bored."
"Alright." Kuwabara said. They all sat in silence and watched as historians talked about the mythology behind werewolves. Hiei appeared at the foot of the stairs and nearly scared them all to death.
"Hiei is something wrong?" Kurama asked when he got his pulse to slow down.
"The onna is asleep and I'm going to use my Jagan now." He reported as he disappeared back up the stairs. They all but ran upstairs and into Kurama's room. They saw Hiei sitting cross legged on the floor. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, he exhaled slowly and relaxed.
In Armina's mind
Hiei was bombarded with images that made no sense to him. It felt as if he was drowning and when he could finally breathe he was confronted with the image of a frightened little girl. She was crying and covered in blood, a hooded figure walked in slow circles around her.
"I didn't mean to hurt him." She sobbed. The figure struck out and hit her square in the face, she fell back and cried even harder.
"You little bitch. You killed him and you knew what you were doing. Now you have to pay." The figure all but spat at her. The figure disappeared and wolves surrouned her. She whimpered and sat up, her eyes widened as she saw the wolves.
"What's wrong little girl? You don't want to play anymore?" A distorted human voice from the jaws of a wolf said. One of the wolves stepped forward and snapped at her. She fell back and cried even harder.
"I didn't mean it!" She all but yelled. The wolves inched closer, but backed away when a dark purple aura surrounded her. She screamed in pain as the sounds of bones cracking and muscles tearing filled the air. The little girl was replaced by a small wolf that growled and beared its teeth at the wolves. One inched closer in curiousity but the little wolf snapped and nearly bit the one that had inched closer. The wolves around the small one growled and rushed in. The night air was filled with the sound of yelps and growls and filled with the scent of fresh blood. When the last large wolf fell the little one stood there, covered in blood. It howled and buried it's muzzle in the carcass of another wolf and began to eat it. Hiei felt as if he would be sick from the sound of tearing flesh and the smell of fresh death. He watched in horror how the wolf changed back into a girl halfway through her feast on the carcass. The girl screamed in pain as she turned back and passed out, a figure approached and covered her in a cloak and carried her away. He was sucked away again with the same drowning feeling and when he resurfaced her was confronted with the sight of a 14 year old girl standing beside a small pond. She sat down and took her shoes off, dipping her feet in the pond.
"I didn't expect you to come here Nabassu." She said softly as a man came out from the woods.
"Nor did I expect you to be here little Necromancer." The man said in a voice deep like the rolling thunder. He handed her a silver dagger.
"What's this for?" She asked, examining the craftsmanship of the dagger.
"To feed your power. The power of death runs through your veins and will consume you if you don't feed it."
"How do I feed it?"
"You kill someone."
"Mommy says killing is wrong."
"But not if it's to keep you from becoming a monster." The man disappeared back into the woods and returned with a younger man who was bound and gagged.
"You must kill this man."
"What did he do?"
"He is evil, he hurt little girls."
"He killed them?"
"Yes." She slit his throat with no hesitation and watched the blood flow out.
"Now what?" She asked, fascinated with the blood.
"We leave." The man said. They both walked away into the woods. Hiei was sucked away again. The scene changed he was now at a cemetery. She stood beside a grave, her father stood there as well. She was 18 now and wore all black as a priest read from a bible. Everyone began to leave but she stayed there beside the grave and watched as the coffin was lowered in and black earth was thrown into the grave, slowly covering the coffin.
"We need to go now Armina."
"No."
"Sweet heart, we need to leave."
"No." Her father sighed.
"Armina."
"Someone hurt mom and I want to know who did it." She said, her eyes welling up with tears.
"You heard the police, it was a mugging that's it."
"I don't believe that."
"Armina, lets go home." Her father said. He placed an arm over her shoulders and led her away from the grave. The cemetery became hazy and when it came back into focus Armina was right beside Hiei in the bushes. He gasped but realized he couldn't touch her or talk to her. He watched as two men went to where her mothers grave was and began to dig.
"Are you sure we need to do this?"
"Yes, boss said we can't complete the ritual without all the bodies."
"It feels almost wrong."
"Get over it, we're getting paid aren't we?" The men dug in silence until they got to the coffin. Armina clenched her fists, Hiei saw rivlets of blood as her nails cut into her palms.
"Those bastards." She growled. She stood up and went over to the grave as the men came out with her mothers body.
"Hey little girl. It's awfully late for you to be out. You should run along home before someone hurts you." One of the men said. She glared at them and reached into her coat.
"What the hell do you think you're doing with my mother?" She asked, her voice low and deadly.
"None of your business now get the fuck out of our way our I'm really gonna hurt you." The other man said. She smirked and pulled a silver dagger out of her coat.
"Nabassu said all bad men die, but the worst die by this dagger." She said softly. Hiei felt a burst of her power and saw the earth begin to roll, blood trickled from her hand as she splashed it onto the ground. The second her blood hit the ground zombies came from their graves. They didn't come flying out like Hiei had thought they would but they came out slowly, like swimmers from a pool. The men stood frozen as she yanked them from her mothers grave, her mothers body fell back into the coffin with a dull thud.
"Wha...what are you doing?!" One of the men shouted at her, he seemed paralyzed.
"I used Necromancer power to call the zombies, in a few moments you will be dismembered and torn limb from limb while you're still alive."
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!" The other man screamed in terror.
"Because bad men deserve to die young." She said. He watched as she stepped back and zombies surrounded the men.
"Kill them." Those two words hung in the night air as the zombies began to tear them apart. The night was filled with screams of pain and torment, then a maniacal laughter from Armina as she watched them die. When the deed was done the zombies looked to her.
"Go back to your graves and rest, do not rise again my friends." She said. The zombies all went obidently back to their graves and laid down as the earth swallowed them. He watched as Armina picked up a shovel and filled her mothers grave with dirt, she whistled a merry tune as she did so. When she was finished she patted it down then took the shovel with her, chuckling as she saw the bloody mass of flesh and bone of the two men who had tried stealing her mothers body.
"Evil men deserve to die young." She said with a giggle as she left the cemetery.
The detectives were worried when they saw Hiei's breathing increase and his pulse speed up.
"Should we try and break his concentration?" Kuwabara asked, genuinly worried about him.
"I'm not sure." Kurama said. Hiei's eyes snapped open and he began to scream, trying to claw out his Jagan. Yusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara pinned him down.
"Hiei! Hiei what's wrong?" Kurama asked, he was scared for his friend.
"He saw things he shouldn't have seen, and now he will most definetly go mad." They all turned and saw Armina standing in the doorway.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM YOU BITCH?!" Yusuke screamed at her.
"I'd be a little more quiet, Shiori is sleeping. As for what happend; I did nothing. You are the ones who caused this."
"What the fuck did we do to cause this?" Kurama growled, impatient with her attitude.
"You sent him into my mind. I allowed it but it seems he was too weak to be able to stand what he saw." She said with a chuckle. She walked out and went into her room.
"What do we do?" Kuwabara asked, he had covered Hiei's mouth to muffle the screams.
"Yusuke, call Koenma and have a portal opened to Genkai's. She will know what to do." Kurama ordered. He pinned down Hiei's arms as Yusuke opened his spirit communicator and asked Koenma for a portal. A portal opened and they all went through, landing in a pile in Genkai's living room. Genkai stood there with Yukina at her side, Yukina held a cup.
"Pin him down so Yukina can give him the sleeping tea we have made." Genkai ordered. They all obeyed and Yukina knelt down. She tipped the cup into Hiei's mouth and rubbed his throat to get him to swallow what he hadn't spit out. In a few moments Hiei fell into a deep sleep and the all got off of him.
"Kuwabara, Yusuke, take him to a room and put him in bed. Kurama, tell me what happened." Genkai ordered. They all obliged and Kurama sat down.
"I honestly don't know. We sent him into Armina's mind and that's how he came back." He said. Genkai sighed and looked at him.
"You shouldn't have done that. Armina's mind holds secrets no one could see and remain sane from."
"How do you know?"
"Because Koenma arranged for a psycic to look into her mind, the psycic tore out her eyes after she returned." Genkai said in a grave tone. Kurama paled and swallowed hard.
"Do you think Hiei will be alright?"
"I don't know, we can only wait and see." Genkai said, standing up and heading down the hall Yusuke and them had gone down. Kurama sighed and noticed how bad he was shaking.
"I'm sorry Hiei." He said softly. He had possibly cursed his best friend to go insane, he got up and went down the hall.
"What sort of monster are we dealing with?" He asked himself as he went into Hiei's room.
