Ch.3 Training With Hiei and a Trip to Reikai

The next morning, Hiei & I met at the tree as planned. I'd been in the tree since 5:00 a.m. with Hiei. He had slept there.

"Ready, Erin?"

"Hn. Let's do it."

"Channel your energy through your katana and let's go."

"Fine. All right, I'm at full power. Brace yourself, Hiei, 'cause here I come!!!!"

I charged at Hiei, katana in hand, and we battled at equal power for a few minutes.

"All right, Erin. Let's kick it up a notch.", Hiei called.

"Right, Hiei! Here I come, hotshot!!" We could barely catch each other. Our speed, power, and katana wielding skills were well-matched.

"I thought . . . you said . . . you didn't . . . know how to . . . use a katana.",Hiei said breathlessly after five minutes of intense fighting.

"I... I lied.", I said, before jumping aside to avoid another blow.

"You . . . Your energy level . . . " I said, then stopped. I moved so fast, Hiei couldn't see me and wound up behind him.

"What . . . about it.", Hiei gasped. I appeared behind him and hissed,

"Control it! It's going down. I thought you said we were gonna fight all-out!" I struck him fast and jumped aside quickly, missing his katana blade by an inch.

"Let's stop here. You need to rest.", I commanded.

"But Erin-"

"NO Hiei! You need to rest now, we've been training since six a.m. and it's noon."

Hiei smiled. He wanted to argue, I could see it in his gorgeous scarlet eyes. But he knew, since I was just like him, I would be just as stubborn. So he said nothing.

"I need to take you to Koenma.", Hiei said, after a moment of silence.

"Hn. Sleep first. We'll talk about Makai & Koenma in an hour or two." I kissed him lightly before I left. Within an hour, he regained his strength and took me to Makai.

"Koenma, this is Erin. She's the half youkai I've been training in the Ningenkai."

"Good, Good. Does she know how to use a katana?"

"Yes, sir. Very well, Koenma, sir."

"I'd like you to meet the team, Erin.", Koenma said, and a boy with black hair stepped forward.

"Yusuke Urameshi." Then a red- haired guy stepped up.

"Kurama. Pleased to meet you." He took my hand and kissed it gently.

"Watch it, Kurama. She's mine.", said a boy with orange hair.

"Kazuma Kuwabara. I must ask, what's a gorgeous girl like you doin' with a shrimp like Hiei?"

"I've been training her, you baka!", Hiei said, but his face flushed.

"You're blushing, Hiei, and you rarely blush. So what's the deal here?", Kurama asked, a hint of a tease in his voice. The others chorused the question. Hiei yelled:

"She's my girlfriend, OK! You guys really are a bunch of bakas!" They nearly fell over. Kuwabara laughed, then whispered in my ear:

"Hey, baby, ditch the shrimp and let the great Kazuma Kuwabara protect you."

"STAY AWAY FROM HER OR YOU'RE DEAD, BAKA!!!! SHE'S MINE!!!!!"

I quickly stepped in between the two and hissed at Kuwabara:

"Call me 'baby' again, and I'll kill you, ya got that! Also, don't even think about touching me. I'm Hiei's girl, and definitely not interested in a baka like you Clear?!"

"Ouch! She's got an additude. Hey, Hiei, you two are a perfect match!", said Yusuke.

" Hn. We know." Hiei and I replied together, then we both blushed. We quickly turned to each other to hide it. We quickly got over it and turned back to them.

"If you'll excuse us . . . " Hiei began.

"Yeah, yeah we know!", Yusuke teased, "you two lovebirds wanna be alone, right?"

"Hn. No. We have training to finish.", Hiei answered calmly.

"Hn. Yes, so please forgive us, but we must take our leave. Farewell.", I said.
