Eirka: When you say babe I’m not so sure.

Hiei: Oh very cute.

Eirka: I know I am. Thank you for noticing.

CHAPTER 2: A NEW FRIEND

Erika and Hiei didn’t stay out in the garden for too long because they had to get to bed. Hiei had warned Erika that they would be waking up early to start her training. She was not happy about this as Hiei had an evil look in his eyes. So anyway, Hiei showed Erika to her room.

It was a royal blue room with a blue bed that had black sheets with stars on them. On one wall there was a bureau with a mirror and a brush. On another wall there was a desk and next to the desk was a closet. There was also a night table with a clock next to the bed.

“Now like Koenma said, Kurama’s room is to your right, Yuseke’s room is to your left, I am strait across the hall. ONLY bother me if it if important! GOT IT!” warned Hiei.

Erika nodded.

“Good,” Hiei said. He was about to leave when Erika called him.

“Hiei,” she said.

“What?” he asked.

“Thank you.”

“For what?” Hiei was confused.

“You know, for saving me today. I already thanked Kurama earlier, but I never thanked you. So thank you,” Erika said again.

Hiei didn’t know what to say.

“Anyway good night Pointy Butt,” teased Erika.

“Good night,” said Hiei as he left Erika to go to his own room.

Erika put on a pair of tank top pajamas and went to bed, still thinking about today’s events. First she starts off as a normal girl on earth and now she’s in Makai.

(Outside Erika’s room)

Hiei sighed. He couldn’t believe that this baka was Kurama’s sister. But Hiei knew what he had to do. He knew it would be wrong for him to fall for her so he would have to hide all his emotions from Erika, forever. He went into her room. His bed had black sheets with a fire pattern. He then got a knock on his door.

“It’s that stupid baka,” Hiei assumed.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to see that it was Kurama.

“What is it Kurama?” he asked.

“I have a question for you and then I’ll let you go to bed. I know you’re starting Erika’s training tomorrow,” said Kurama.

“Alright. Ask away,” said Hiei.

“What do you think of Erika?” asked Kurama.

“To hard to say. From what I know she’s cute but a real pain in the ass,” Hiei replied.

“You like her, don’t you?” asked Kurama.

“Yea right, and pigs fly in the human world. Now good night Kurama,” said the fire demon closing the door on the fox demon.

“Just as I thought,” whispered Kurama outside Hiei’s door. Kurama went to his own room and went to bed. “He’s afraid of his own emotions again.

(next day)

The next day, Hiei woke very earlier. He put on a clean pair of black pants and a tight black tank top (A/N: *drools* He is so out in all black). He woke up the others and then went to get a bucket of ice cold water. He then went to Erika’s room.

Hiei had a feeling that Erika wouldn’t be as easy to wake as everyone else. He then threw the bucket of water on her.

“What the hell? YOU BAKA,” yelled Erika. “How could you do this?” Erika was soaked from head to toe.

“With ease and pleasure,” smirked Hiei. “Now get dressed.”

“NO!”

“Why not?” he asked with a frown.

“Because you’re in the room. So get out you pervert,” ordered Erika as she pushed Hiei out of the room and closed her door.

Erika put on a white tank top with stretchy black bellbottoms. She brushed out her hair and made her bed. She then step out of her room and was about to go to the kitchen when she realized that she didn’t know where it was. Luckily Kurama stepped out of his room at the same time.

“Morning Sis,” he greeted.

“Morning Kurama,” she greeted back.

“So you ready to get some breakfast?” Kurama asked as he and Erika starting walking to the kitchen.

“I’m not sure if Pointy Butt will let me eat,” teased Erika.

“Speaking of Hiei, you like him don’t you?” asked Kurama slyly.

“WHAT? ME HAVE A CRUSH ON POINTY BUTT! YOU MUST BE KIDDING?” hollered Erika.

“It was only a question,” replied Kurama. His suspicions were growing and growing. All he needed was a few more clues before he could concur them to be correct.

“Yeah well it was a stupid question,” muttered Erika.

Kurama didn’t press the subject. He was going to talk to the others about a plan.

“Morning Erika,” greeted Boton. “Did you sleep well for your first night in Makai?”

“Yes. I slept like a baby,” smiled Erika.

“Really? I didn’t hear you crying for your mama at last night,” teased Hiei.

“How would you know when you were screaming your lungs out because of the needles that were still in your butt, Pointy Butt?” argued Erika.

“Indeed, but at least I don’t need my older brother to fight my battles or for stop me from fighting.”

“Are you calling me a coward?”

“Nope. But I do have something to say,” said Hiei.

“And what’s that?” asked Erika in anger.

“For someone who has such a quiet brother you sure have a big mouth,” teased Hiei.

“WHAT?” yelled Erika.

“Yep. You’re Big Mouth, whether you like it or not.”

“YOU BAKA!” yelled Erika as she went after Hiei. She went in for a punch, but Hiei jumped out of the way.

“Is that the best you can do?” he teased.

Erika went after him, one punch after another. And she missed him every time. Finally, Hiei jumped up on to the rafters on the ceiling in the kitchen.

“HIEI GET DOWN HERE YOU ARE SUCH A COWARD!” yelled Erika.

“Hiei you have never acted this way before,” said a mysterious voice. At least it was mysterious to Erika.

“KitCat, what are you doing here?” yelled Hiei.

“That’s a real nice way to treat your friends,” said KitCat.

“You’re not my friend,” he said.

“You’re right. I’m the person that you owe your life to,” said KitCat.

“What? Hiei owes his life to someone?” Erika was confused.

“Yes. I saved his life. By the way, I’m KitCat, but I prefer to be called Cat,” she said. Cat had brown hair with blue streaks, she had blue ears and a blue tail. She also had a dark blue eyes. In other words she was really pretty. “And if you haven’t noticed I’m a cat demon. Just like Hiei is a fire demon and Kurama is a fox demon. But we don’t know what type of demon you are.”

“Okay,” Erika said a bit confused. “How did you save Hiei’s life?”

“Okay that’s enough,” said Hiei jumping down from the rafters before Cat could answer. “Now why don’t we have something to eat so I can get to work on training Erika?”

“Alright,” said Cat as she and everyone else sat down for breakfast.

On one side of the table, Yuseke sat next to Kuwabara and Keiko. Next to Keiko was Genkai. On the other side, Kurama sat next to Hiei and Cat. The only open seat was next to Hiei. Erika and Hiei were not happy about this, but they would have to live with this.

‘I guess I’ll have to get my revenge later’ thought Erika.

//Yes. I’ll get my revenge during your training// said Hiei mentally.

“WHAT THE HELL?” shouted Erika.

“You didn’t know I could invade your thoughts?” said Hiei.

“You didn’t tell me,” argued Erika.

“You never asked,” Hiei argued back.

“Well how was I suppose to know? And what is with that bandana across your face?” asked Erika.

“First of all, my Jagen is behind this bandana. Second if it wasn’t covered you would wish you were never born. Third my Jagen allows me to read peoples minds. And fourth, I can’t control its power,” said Hiei.

“Both of you stop fighting,” ordered Yuseke.

“And apologize,” Kurama ordered.

“Why should we?” asked Erika and Hiei.

“Because Erika I’ll tell everyone what you told me yesterday,” said Kurama.

“And Hiei, I’ll tell everyone about that dream you had after we first met,” said Cat.

“KITCAT YOU ARE THE BIGGEST BAKA I KNOW! EVEN ERIKA IS AS BAD AS YOU!” hollered Hiei.

“KURAMA, YOU WOULDN’T DARE! EVEN HIEI ISN’T AS MEAN AS YOU!” Erika hollered at the same time as Hiei.

“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? DID YOU JUST STAND UP FOR ME?” Erika and Hiei yelled at each other.

Cat, Boton, and Keiko all started giggling.

“I think Hiei has a crush on a certain someone’s sister,” Yuseke whispered into Kuwabara’s ear.

“What? Who’s sister?” Kuwabara was confused.

Yuseke just slapped himself. It worried him how dumb Kuwabara was.

All Kurama could do was smirk. He knew that Hiei and Erika liked each other, just from today.

“This is insane,” said Erika.

“All I’m saying is that we better get out of here so we can start your training,” said Hiei.

He and Erika left the dojo in silence, not looking at one another.

“I think Hiei’s heart is starting to soften up,” said Genkai.

“Agreed. If only he could admit it,” agreed Kurama.

“But how will we do that?” asked Boton.

“By getting Erika to admit she likes him,” said Kurama.

“And how do we do that? I’ve known Hiei for a long time, he won’t admit he’s in love. Remember, he doesn’t want to get hurt,” reminded Cat.

“That is going to be difficult,” said Kurama.

Everyone just finished eating breakfast thinking about Erika and Hiei.
