“Wolf, Fox, Yusuke! Time to get ready for school!” Atsuko called up the stairs, waking only Wolf. She sat up slowly and wobbled to the bathroom to take a cold shower to chase off the need to fall asleep again. 10 minutes later she stepped out of the shower and used her fire power to dry herself off. She changed into her uniform that used to blue until she dyed it black and her black and white striped knee length socks. She walked back into her shared room to see Fox struggling in her sleep, mumbling, “I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go…” Wolf bent over her half sister and started to shake her shoulder to wake her sister from her dreaded memory she had also experienced the night before.

**Flashback**

They were dropped off quickly and both refused to join in any activity the group was doing. They were there for a year without making any friends. They weren't feared for being demons because Akita had placed an illusion spell on their ears and tails. ( A/N: Once the reached 11 they learned how remove and recast the illusion.)

After being for a year Atsuko had stopped by with her little boy, Yusuke. Wolf was in the bathroom at the time when Atsuko decided to adopt Fox. “I am sorry Miss but I can't leave without her.” Fox had said. “Who's her?” Atsuko had asked as Wolf walked to her sisters side after she was finished. “ That would be me. I am Fox's sister Wolf.” Wolf said bowing slightly. Atsuko had decided to adopt Wolf also. That was their last day there and they were happy to leave.

**End Flashback**

Fox finally woke up a few shakes later and looked up at her sister confused. She gently shook her head and stared at her silver comforter. “You had the dream again, didn't you?” Wolf asked her worry showing clearly on her face. “Yeah,” was all she said and gave Wolf a warm smile that never reached her silver eyes. Wolf knew she need to be left alone so as Fox walked into the bathroom to take a warm shower she left the room to wake up her hard headed brother.

Yusuke, as Wolf expected was still asleep in his bed snoring loudly. Wolf entered the room and slammed the door behind her in annoyance that she had to do this everyday, which unfazed the sleeping Yusuke. She crouched down low next his ear and yelled, “GET UP YUSUKE!!!” Yusuke sat up quickly and rubbed furiously at his ear. He shouted, “WHAT THE HELL, WOLF?” “Fox and I are leaving in 20 minutes and if you aren't ready by then we will drag you there with whatever clothes you got on. Got it?” she was agitated. He lunged at her but she quickly sidestepped sending crashing hard into the wall. Wolf exited the room pleased with her work and headed back to her room. She found it empty. She took down her illusion and began to run a hardwire brush through her ebony locks and massaging her ears. Fox banged into the room fully awake and perky this morning.

Wolf cursed out aloud and hid her anger behind her mask and barely controlling her anger to sound calm when she said, “ Fox you shouldn't do that. You scared the shit out of me because I thought you were Yusuke and I don't feel like explaining this to him.” She pointed to her ears.

Fox shrugged and walked over to their closet and pulled out her uniform which she dyed silver. Wolf turned back to the mirror before her only to turn her head away in disgust. She hated looking like her mother. She recasted her illusion and began to put on her jewelry. First she put on the pendant her mother gave her. Then she put a black dog collar with red rubies over that. She put on black eye shadow and eyeliner. She also added some strawberry lip-gloss that made her lips shine. She grabbed her black bag with a white wolf on it and walked downstairs and into the kitchen to wait for her siblings. Fox joined her minutes later wearing silver eye shadow and eyeliner. Wolf could see lip-gloss on her sister's lips and her excellent sense of smell told her it was watermelon.

Atsuko set a plate of bacon in front of Fox who dug in and a glass of strawberry kiwi Gatorade in front of Wolf. Wolf smiled at her adoptive mom who smiled back and drank her Gatorade. When they finished Yusuke emerged from his room and the group left. Not long after they started walking Kayko and Kuwabaka (A/N: Sorry Kuwabara fans. Both LW and LF hate Kuwabara. Do any of you like Kuwabaka? *cricket cricket* thought not) The two sisters let the group walk ahead of them like usual.

“What's wrong Foxy?” Wolf asked feeling her sister's unease but never letting her eyes leave the group in front of them. She knew her sister had the same sinking feeling she had had ever since they left the house and they both knew something bad was going to happen.

“You know perfectly well what is wrong Wolfy.” Her sister said a little colder than usual and Wolf finally let her eyes stray from the group to look at her sister colder than anyone could imagine. Her eyes told her sister to back off and she was trying to protect her.

“ I'm sorry for snapping at you Wolfy. You know how I worry.” Wolf nodded at her sister's apology and let her gaze returned to Yusuke and the others.

The group soon arrived at the school and split up to go to their separate classrooms. Wolf and Fox were walking to the Art room when two boys blocked their way. Fox groaned as she recognized the boys to be Kanji and Kenji. They were twin brothers who were quite interested in the Urameshi girls but kept their distance around them when their brother was around. They had not experienced Wolf's anger and today wasn't the best day to tick her of.

“Hey babes!” Kenji called as he wrapped an arm around Fox's waist. She tried to pull away but he just held her tighter.

“We have been waiting for you.” Kanji said as he wrapped his arm around Wolf's waist. Wolf took her black nails and dragged them hard against Kanji's fair skin leaving five lines of crimson blood in their path. Fox followed Wolf's idea and did the same thing with her silver nails. Both boys jumped back and the girls causally walked on and entered the empty classroom seconds later. Fox burst out laughing and Wolf let a small smile and licked her nails clean of blood.

After Wolf smiled Fox stopped laughing. Wolf looked at her confused, “What?”

“ You smiled. You haven't smiled since your dad died. That's what Akita said.”

“So. Fine, I will never smile again.” Wolf said coldly and crossed her arms.

The bell rang and the girls took their seats as a huge burst of classmates walked into the room and sat down. The teacher, Ms. Yagumi came in and began the lesson on tribal masks that they were making. The girls were done with their masks and never paid attention in the class even though they get A's. They pulled out their sketchpads and began to draw.

Wolf sketched her father in the garden carrying her in his arms as a small bundle and handing her a black rose. Her father was looking down t her with a warm smile and warm red eyes.

Fox was drawing her sister sitting on the forest floor in her true form (A/N: she means human body with ears and tail) with her head tilted up towards the full moon above her. Her lips showed that she was howling.

When both sisters were done in a matter of minutes they switched pads to show each other their artwork. After looking they both looked at each other. Fox was smiling and Wolf was smirking. Fox knew that was her from of a smile.

All the heads in the classroom looked up as the door opened and a student walked over to Ms. Yagumi and whispered something into her ear and left. Ms. Yagumi looked at the girls with a grim face and said, “Wolf, Fox, you both are wanted in the principal's office.” Both girls stood and collected their stuff. They walked down the hallway and a few minutes arrived at the office. They opened the door to see someone they didn't expect to see… Akita.

“Akita? What are you doing here? You were here last week to check up on us.” Fox said puzzled once again. (A/N: is it just me or is Fox confused a lot?) Akita looked up and both girls saw the red lines streaking her cheek and they knew she had been crying.

She stepped behind them and steered them into an empty conference room. All three girls sat down and Akita decided to get the reason for her visit over quickly. “Girls. I am truly sorry but…” Akita trailed off and looked down.

“Sorry what?” Wolf asked knowing her coldness was rude but right now she didn't really care. The sinking feeling had returned to her gut.

“But your parents were killed by lightening demons.”
