“He never said. He only told your mother and now that she has passed on…” Akita trailed off.

 

“Come Akita. We can finish our discussion at our house.” Wolf stated firmly and Fox nodded in agreement. The three girls walked in silence until the reached the Urameshi residence.

 

“Mom! We're home!” Fox called as they entered the living room.

 

“Welcome home girls. Oh, who is this?” Atsuko asked sweetly nodding towards Akita because in her hands was a plate of cookies, two glasses of chocolate milk and a glass of strawberry kiwi Gatorade. Wolf guessed the second milk was for Yusuke but Atsuko said she would make another one so Akita could have the current one.

 

“She is a friend of ours.” Wolf explained quickly.

 

Atsuko nodded and handed the tray to Fox who was eyeing the snack hungrily. Then she turned and walked back into the kitchen. Once there she shouted, “ Yusuke is having 5 friends over. Is your friend going to join us?”

 

Akita was about to decline but Fox stopped devouring the cookies and said, “Yes she is staying.” Before she started to devour the poor chocolate chip cookies again. Wolf, Fox and Akita went upstairs to Wolf's and Fox's room and sat on the floor in a triangle with wolf leaning on the wall, Fox leaning on the bed, and Akita was sitting straight staring out the open window and into the sunset.

 

“Well, what we were talking about earlier. Only your mother knew where he went. When he didn't come back she told the kingdom that he was staying longer. She refused to believe he was missing.” Akita's head was suddenly bowed as she continued, “ We are lost without a King or Queen. I was sent here to tell you both that you need to return to your Kingdom. Lady Wolf, we need you because your parents never bore a son, which means you are our new Queen. Lady Fox, until Lady Wolf has produced an heir you are our princess. You have a week before your people expect you.”

 

Both girls were stunned in silence. Wolf barely hid her surprise behind her mask. She yet again she looked calm but on the inside she is in shock. She had never realized that she was the heir to her parents' throne.

 

Fox was wide-eyed with her mouth hanging open. She couldn't believe her sister was going to be queen. She finally recovered enough to say, “But what about our family here?” She didn't like the thought of leaving Yusuke, Atsuko, and especially Kurama.

 

“Your people would not be pleased to have ningens in the palace let alone the kingdom. You will have to leave them here.” Akita replied looking up.

 

Wolf heard the front door open and people walk in and she knew instantly that they were her brother and his friends. The next thing she heard was Atsuko calling, “Wolf, Fox, Akita! Dinner is ready!”

All three girls stood and walked downstairs into the kitchen and sat down. Wolf switched from her calm mask to her cold mask. This mask puts her exotic eyes in a pissed off look and her lips in a straight line not curving up or down. Fox just wore a calm look even though if you look in her eyes you could tell something was wrong.

 

When they sat down Wolf noticed she didn't recognized two people at the table besides Kayko, Kuwabaka and Kurama. The first one was a girl with blue hair and pink eyes. She wore a blue tank top that matched the color of her hair and a pair of jeans. The girl noticed Wolf staring at her and smiled. Wolf could tell she was a happy, perky, morning type of person.

 

Wolf shifted her gaze to the next person in the corner. He had black spiky hair with a white starburst in the middle that defied the laws of gravity. He wore black training pants and cloak and a white bandana around his forehead. She knew he was barely taller than her even though he was sitting down and the thing that caught her eyes the most was his crimson eyes that watched Kuwabaka arguing with Yusuke. She knew he was a demon the instant she saw him because of his scent.

 

Yusuke finally stopped fighting Kuwabaka and decided to introduce his sisters to his friends as their mother brought in food, “ Wolf, Fox, this Botan,” he pointed to the girl, “and Hiei,” he pointed to the boy in the corner, “Guys, these are my sisters, Wolf,” He pointed at her, “and Fox.” He pointed to Fox.

 

Wolf couldn't hold back her sarcasm and replied, “ Wow Yusuke. You introduced us as your sisters without being forced. I am so happy!” As she said that she pretended to wipe an invisible tear from her eye. Fox, Kuwabara, and Botan cracked up, Kurama chuckled, Akita and Kayko smiled politely, and Hiei smirked while Yusuke crossed his arms upset.

When everyone stopped laughing Fox said, “Oh, Everybody this is our friend Akita.”

 

Everyone said hello and dug into the food before them. Wolf at little and drank her fruit punch Gatorade.

 

Kuwabaka looked up from behind food and said to her, “Hey Wolf, if you don't eat Urameshi is going to eat all of the food.”

 

“Hey!” Yusuke said and reached over the table, grabbed the baka's head and slammed it into the plate in front of Kuwabaka. “You shouldn't be talking Baka. Ouch!” Yusuke said as Kayko slapped him upside the head and Yusuke turned back to his food with a lump on his head. Kuwabaka raised his head from his plate and had food sticking to it. Fox, Botan, and Yusuke started to laugh loudly, which got on Wolf's very last nerves.

 

“Knock it off!” She shouted and stood up from the table and walked out into the living room and seconds later the group heard the front door slam. Fox stood up and smacked Yusuke on the back of the head in the exact same spot Kayko had hit him on causing him to grow a second bump.

 

“Damn it Yusuke! You had to make her lose her temper. She could be in danger of … Kanji and Kenji. They tried to hit on us today!” Fox shouted and thought of another excuse instead of telling them about being royal demons.

 

She ran to the door and looked out to see if she could find her sister in the darkness. `Damn.' She thought to herself, `why couldn't her favorite color be white?' Some one walked up behind her and whispered in her ear, “ Some of our people are in the surrounding forest. They will protect her.” Fox knew it was Akita immediately after she started talking. Fox nodded, walked back into the kitchen, and sat down with Akita next to her. No one felt like eating since Wolf's outburst so all that was left to do was to sit and wait.

 

A few hours later Wolf still hadn't come home and Fox was getting worried. “Damn it Yusuke! Why did you have to piss her off?” Everyone knew that she wasn't expecting an answer so they did not respond. Fox was pacing in the living room, Yusuke, Kuwabaka, and Kurama where on the couch, Atsuko was in the black chair, Botan and Kayko were on the floor, Hiei was on the windowsill, and Akita was trying to calm Fox down.

“Please Lady Fox, Lady Wolf will be all right.”

 

“Lady?” Yusuke asked puzzled.

 

“Old nickname.” Fox said thinking up a quick excuse not stopping her pacing. She caught a glimpse of Kurama's face and saw a look that told her that he didn't believe her. She shook off the look and said, “I can't take it anymore. I'm going to go find her.” She was walking to the door when some one grabbed her arm. She turned around to see Yusuke holding her arm.

 

He let go and grabbed his jacket, “You don't think you are going alone, do you?” Fox smiled a true smile in response and he turned and asked, “Are you coming guys?”

 

Five minutes later Fox, Yusuke, Kuwabaka, Kurama, Hiei, Botan, and Akita left the house in search of Wolf. Hiei went off by himself to the west while Fox and Kurama went to search the east, Yusuke and Kuwabaka went south, and Botan and Akita went north. Hiei went to the large forest and sat in one of his favorite trees. He sat there for about two minutes when he heard the sounds of a fight and decided to check it out. He ran to a clearing where two figures stood. Both were female. One in a school uniform and the other in a yellow tube top and yellow pants. Hiei recognized the girl in yellow was a lightening demon and the girl in the uniform was Wolf. He could see Wolf had a few cuts but they would heal while the demon was unharmed. He watched Wolf fight and knew she had skill as she expertly dodged a lightening bolt thrown at her. She charged the demon and slammed her in the face and the demon in turn gave her a gash in her side with a lightening bolt. Wolf fell to her knees from the blood loss and when Hiei saw this he raced forward, took his katana, slashed the demon to pieces, and caught Wolf before she hit the ground. He looked down at the girl in his arms and looked to see if she was okay because he knew the spirit detective would be on his case if she wasn't. He smirked as he realized she would be fine after some sleep and sent everyone a telepathic message saying he found her and he was taking her to Genkai's to be healed. He carried her bridal style and began to run to Genkai's. He was very confused about how right it felt to hold her, `What is happening to me? Am I becoming soft for a ningen?' He soon entered Genkai's temple and set her down on the couch and went to fetch Yukina to heal her.
