The Red Rose of Love

Chapter 14

[Afternoon]

Rai slowly roused from her sleep by rubbing her eyes and yawning. Rai looked over at her clock and her eyes widened.

It was 12:00PM and Rai immediately threw the covers off her body.

‘I forgot to clean Kurama’s and Hiei’s room! I hope they won’t be mad since I overslept!’ Rai thought. She then opened the sliding door to Kurama’s and Hiei’s room and she was amazed.

The room was clean; there were no feathers at all.

"B-But who cleaned the room…?" Rai asked herself in disbelief. She then heard footsteps and she immediately spun around and smiled in relief. It was Kurama.

"Good afternoon Rai, did you sleep well?" Kurama asked kindly.

Rai flushed, "I-I told you not to clean the room."

Kurama just smiled at her, "I did it out of hospitality for letting us stay at your Aunt’s dojo."

Rai flushed a darker red, "T-Thank you but still you really didn’t have to clean up the room."

Kurama just kept smiling, ‘She looks so beautiful when she blushes…’

[Living Room]

"Oh Rain, I was wondering when you were going to wake up. Narutaki, Yusuke and the others are outside." Sayuka replied cheerfully. She wore a pink kimono with her dirty blonde in a bun.

Rai flushed in embarrassment, "Gomen-sama Sayuka."

"It’s perfectly fine Rain. Did you know your friend, Kurama, cleaned up the room with the feathers everywhere? He also helped make breakfast and help me do the other chores. Such a nice boy, his parents must have brought him up well." Sayuka smiled.

"By the way, the chores he did was yours because of something. Why do you think he did that?" Sayuka asked.

Kurama walked down the hallway humming something and then stopped when he heard Sayuka’s and Rai’s voices.

Rai’s eyes widened, "I-I don’t know…"

"Rain, is that sickness of yours-"

"Sayuka, I-"

"That Shintaro Urameshi knows NOTHING about children! Tell me Rain, tell me does he know ANYTHING about this?" Sayuka said coldly.

She looked really angry.

"He knew about it but, he never bothered to help. To put it in easier words, for the past eight years I’ve be a sister/mother to Narutaki. Because of that, the stress, depression and loneliness made my lifeline shorter. I’m going to die between the ages 20-30 and there’s nothing no one can do about it. Yusuke says he’ll find someone but I have no high hopes for that. The only thing that will make me livelong is for my mother to come back! If I die, Narutaki will have nothing except a man who is a successful business man who is NO father!" Rai cried. Tears strolled down her face.

Sayuka started to shake with fear, "Oh my god…oh my god…"

Sayuka’s eyes then had angered in them, "That bastard, cares NOTHING but work and his money! Fuck him and his fucking business in fucking hell!"

Rai nodded her head, "If my mother came back that will maybe save me. And maybe, if some man, who loves me, those things will keep me going. And Tou-san, he’ll never care, work, work and WORK comes first!" Rai cried.

Kurama gasped softly so the two girls wouldn’t hear him.

Sayuka clenched her fists, "Rain, you know you can live with us-"

"I CAN’T! I PROMISED YUSUKE I WOULDN’T LEAVE HIM AGAIN!" With that Rai ran out of the living and dojo.

Kurama immediately ran after her, ‘I don’t care if Yusuke KILLS me, I’m going to help Rai! Whether or not Yusuke kills me or praises me, I’m going to help her! I love her and I can’t let her go I’ll tell her I love her! That’ll make her live, I’ll help her find her mother! I won’t let Hiei have her, even if he is my friend!’

[Outside]

‘I won’t leave Yusuke! I promised HIM, I would be back! And now, I know someone else loves me! But I don’t know if I love him back! What shall I do?!’ Rai thought to herself.

‘Oh Kaa-san, if you were here, then maybe this wouldn’t be such a big deal!’

[Alternate Dimension]

"Ryuu, Oni, Reon, Kamen, Tora, I want you five to ambush the Mystic Rose and Urameshi Teams." Kumar said harshly.

"Sire, there would be three nigens there, related to Rain Miri Urameshi. What should we do with them?" Tora asked.

Hime snickered while Kumar jeered, "Kill them. We don’t want ANY witnesses."

"Of course, we have at LEAST one angel. The Angel of Despair we already have and we will soon have Tennyo Kaya. The two angels and tennyo will help us destroy the Nigenkai and humanity and let demons roam. We’ll destroy the Reikai as well and we’ll KILL the Spirit Detectives." Hime snickered.

The five nodded, "Yes Sire, Miss." With that, they disappeared.

Kumar then looked at a crystal capsule and jeered loudly.

"Soon, you’ll be reunited with your daughter, Angel of Mystical. You’re from the Ryukyu Dynasty legend and you’ll NEVER escape." Kumar said as he put his hand to the capsule.

"Now with Arella of the Reikai, we’ll rule with the Makai! Mokushiroku Dynasty will rule once again!" Kumar said evilly.

"You’ll never get away with this Kumar! My Spirit Warriors will defeat you with the help of the Urameshi Team!" It was Lady Arella and she was in a glass cage hung to the ceiling.

"That’s the problem Arella. You train Spirit "Warriors/Fighters" not "Detectives". Your fighters seem challenging to me but the Urameshi Team, please. My sister could kill them within 2 seconds."

"Don’t be too carefree Kumar! They are ALSO expert fighters and won the Dark Tournament against the Tourgo Brothers!"

Kumar chuckled evilly, "Well my dear, they won’t be strong in emotions. Once we kill these three nigens, maybe they’ll considered backing out."

Arella snorted.

Kumar jeered and turned to walk away.

[Kyoto-Garden]

"I think I should stop running before I faint." Rai said to herself.

‘I should worry about Arella’s safety then my own pro-’

Then there was a huge explosion near the dojo Rai immediately spun around. She then heard screams of fear and mercy.

"NARUTAKI! SAYUKA! SAGE! NO!" She immediately ran to the dojo.

[Outside of Dojo]

"WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?" Sage shouted, he held Sayuka close to him tightly.

There stood five Akuma Masters, "We want you two dead."

"ICE DRAGON BEAM!" Ryuu shouted.

"SPIRIT SHIELD!" Rai screamed as her spirit shield appeared and protected them.

"RAIN!"

Ryu tsked, "Well, you’re apart of the Mystic Rose Team. You’re Rain Miri Urameshi, well say goodbye to these adults…and this child."

"HEY LET ME GO YOU JERK!" Rai immediately spun around and screamed in terror.

"NARUTAKI!" The three nigens screamed.

Reon held Narutaki with her sharp nails close to his neck.

"LET HIM GO! HE DID NOTHING!" Sayuka shrieked as she struggled to get out of Sage’s arms.

Rai stood there still, sweating and feeling faint, "N…Nar…"

"Looks like she won’t move. Kamen kill the girl, she’s too weak to fight us, she’s the defense type and I HATE the defense type." Oni sneered.

Kamen then appeared, "With pleasure Sir," He turned to face the scared-faced Rai.

"I’m Akuma Kamen, behind this mask of mine is a deadly face. One look of it, you’ll die of fear. And you can’t move since I paralyzed you with my ancient mask." Kamen said coldly.

‘I-I can’t move…’ Rai thought.

[Garden]

"Where do y’suppose that explosion came from?!" Kikyo exclaimed as she and the others ran.

"It came from the dojo of course!" Yusuke replied.

"Do you think Rai and the others were hurt?" Kurama asked.

"Maybe…" Hiei replied harshly.

Someone help me…before it’s too late…Please…someone save me…

‘Rai’s in trouble!’ Yusuke, Kurama and Hiei thought.

[Dojo]

"Now prepare to face the wrath of an Akuma Master! TERROR OF MASK!" Kamen shouted as a crimson eye appeared.

It headed straight towards to the paralyzed Rai and she was terrified.

"ROSE WHIP!" Then Rai felt herself on the ground with someone on top of her.

"K-Kurama…"

"It’s alright, Rain. I’m here for you." Kurama soothed.

While Kurama was calming down Rai, the others were in a showdown.

"SPIRIT GUN!"

"ICE DRAGON BEAM!"

"SPIRIT SWORD!"

"LION’S ROAR!"

"SOLITUDE BEAM!"

"ANGER MASSACRE!"

"TAKE SOME OF THIS!"

"TERROR OF MASK!"

Then the masters stopped, "We are to kill those three nigens."

Both teams stood back, "Not on our time you aren’t."

Kikyo and Botan helped up Sayuka and Sage while Kai was ready to fight one of the masters.

"Give us the child NOW or you’ll die a mercifully death." Kai said angrily.

Reon jeered loudly, "LION’S ROAR!"

Kai immediately grabbed Narutaki and ducked the attack.

Oni laughed evilly, "Playing with us isn’t going to get you anywhere," Then the ground started to shake slowly, "EARTHQUAKE MASSACRE!"

The ground then started to break a part and separating everyone and making things fall and break.

"NARUTAKI! RAIN!" Sage and Sayuka screamed.

Kai immediately grabbed Narutaki by the waist and jumped out of the way but as he landed on the ground, a piece of ground trapped the four.

"NARUTAKI!" Botan and Kikyo screamed as they flew on their oars.

Botan then grabbed Narutaki and he shared an oar with her; Kikyo reached out her hand for Kai.

"Leave me with the nigens! They can’t fight against these demons! Go and find Takuya and Mayumi!"

"Got it Kai! Botan, bring Narutaki to safety with Yusuke!" With that, Kikyo flew off.

"Narutaki, hang onto me and do NOT let go!" Botan exclaimed as they flew quickly, dodging bits of falling stuff.

[Somewhere Else]

"TERROR OF MASK!" Kamen shouted again as the attack headed straight towards Yusuke but ducked.

"SPIRIT GUN!"

"YOU’LL NEVER DEFEAT US! WE’RE THE MOST POWERFUL DEMONS TO LIVE THE FACE OF EARTH!"

"Oh yeah, well we’re gonna kick your asses! SPIRIT GUN!" This time the spirit gun had so much power, it sent Kamen flying.

"Ugh..."

"SPIRIT SWORD!" Kuwabara shouted as he slashed his sword near Ryuu but missed.

"ICE DRAGON BEAM!" That attack sent Kuwabara flying.

"Bastard..."

"EARTHQUAKE MASSACRE!" Oni shouted this time but it was more powerful.

"DIE IN HELL YOU BASTARD!" Hiei shouted as he slashed his katana at Oni.

"DEMON VEMON!"

Hiei ducked and slashed his katana into Oni, making him bleed dearly.

"Argh…why you," The ground rapidly shook, "EARTHQUAKE MASSACRE OF APOCALYPSE!"

More parts of the ground broke away, making it difficult for the teams to attack the masters.

Rai ducked from the parts of ground and dojo, "Damn it! I keep on ducking but every time I do, more and more parts keep coming at me."

Then a tree then broke and headed straight towards Rai; she looked up and screamed.

"SPIRIT W-" But she felt someone pushing her out of the way and she was on the ground.

"What the he-" She looked up and her eyes widened, "Hiei?"

Hiei looked at her, terror and concern filled up his crimson eyes, "Rai, what were you thinking!? You could have been killed!"

Rai looked away, "It was the first thing that came to my mind."

Hiei then pulled her close to him, "If anything ever happened to you, I would be devastated. Ai Shiteru Rain..."

Rai sighed gently, ‘He means it but I’m not sure if I truly love him...’

The ground was rapidly shaking and then split and it headed straight towards the couple.

"Shit..." Hiei murmured under his breath, he turned to face Rai, "I’m going to carry you until we find a safe place."

Rai’s eyes widened, "W-Why do you have to carr-"

Ignoring her words, Hiei picked her up and jumped from tree to tree quickly.

‘I can’t believe I’m being carried in the arms of Hiei. Oh boy, Yusuke isn’t going to like this...’ Rai thought as she sighed mentally.

[Sky]

"Botan, do you think Yusuke and Rai-chan are okay?" Narutaki asked worriedly.

Botan put on her best fake smile, "Don't worry Narutaki! Your cousin and sister will be okay!"

'Oh Yusuke, hurry before anything else happens! Rai, please be alright!' Botan thought worriedly.

"Botan!" Kikyo's voice appeared.

Botan turned around and sighed in relief, "Kikyo!"

Kikyo flew on her oar while Takuya and Mayumi had wings on their backs.

"Mayumi, Takuya, are you two alright?" Botan asked.

"Yeah but-"

"So this is where you've been hiding?" It was Ryuu and he had dragon wings on his back.

"Well," His fists glowed ice blue, "ICE DRAGON BEAM!"

Takuya, Mayumi and Kikyo flew back and it headed straight towards Botan and Narutaki. Hoping it would hit both of them, something unexpected happened…

It hit Narutaki and making it him fall off.

"NARUTAKI!" The four yelled.

Ryuu jeered, "I shall kill you useless nigen!"

He dived down to kill the scared boy.

"SOMEBODY GET HIM!" Mayumi shrieked.

"Takuya, go get him!" Kikyo demanded.

"If I do THAT then you'll be unarmed!"

"I'll go if you two can't decide!" With that, Botan dived down.

[Ground]

"DOUBLE SHOT GUN!" Yusuke shouted.

"LION'S ROAR!" Reon shouted.

Reon then stopped and looked at the sky and started to jeer loudly and heartily.

"Hey lady what are you so happy about?" Yusuke asked rudely.

"Well I see that Ryuu is about to kill one of those nigens. Since the nigen is falling to his doom, ah, what a pathetic nigen child." Reon sighed heartily.

Yusuke immediately looked at the sky, "NARUTAKI! NO!"

"Oh yes, he'll die from being frozen by Ryuu's Ice Dragon Beam. And there's nothing you can do, all you can do is just watch him die." Reon jeered.

"NARUTAKI! OH CHRIST! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!"

"Cry all you want, but this nigen is going to die! He'll have same fate as his nigen sister!"

Yusuke's eyes burned with rage, "I won't let you touch Rai!"

Reon smirked, "LION'S ROAR!"

"WATCH AS YOUR NIGEN FRIEND DIES!"

[Sky]

"NARUTAKI HANG ON!" Botan screamed, she dived faster and faster.

"YOU'LL DIE! ICE DRAGON BEAM!" Ryuu shouted.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Immediately, Botan grabbed Narutaki but still the attack hit them and they fell off the oar to their doom.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!"

[Ground]

"NARUTAKI! BOTAN!" Yusuke shouted.

"Now that pathetic ferry girl will die as well!" Reon jeered.

"Yusuke, you get your cousin, I'll get Botan!" Shun replied as he ran.

"Fine by me!"

"I won't let you off that easily! LION'S ROAR!" Reon bawled.

Yusuke growled, "DOUBLE SHOT GUN!" This time, this sent Reon flying backwards and made her half unconscious.

Yusuke immediately ran and jumped into the air.

He immediately caught Narutaki and Shun caught Botan and they landed on the ground safely.

"You're alright Botan, right?" Shun asked kindly.

"I'm fine but is Narutaki hurt?" Botan asked.

"Naru, Naru, wake up!" Yusuke pleaded. Narutaki wouldn't move and he bled fiercely and was badly injured.

"Urameshi!" Kuwabara shouted. Behind him, Ariel followed him.

"KUWABARA!? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?" Yusuke shouted.

"STRATCH OF TIGER!" Tora screamed.

"THAT'S WHY!"

"STOP TALKING AND RUN!"

"Argh, Kuwabara," His fists glowed, "DOUBLE SHOT GUN!"

"EARHTQUAKE MASSACRE!" Oni shouted, making it shake rapidly.

Then parts of the dojo collapsed unto Yusuke and the group.

"DUCK EVERYONE!" Shun shouted.

Shun grabbed Botan, Ariel, Kuwabara ducked and Yusuke clutched to Narutaki to dear life as a huge part of the roof collapsed on top of them.

They were trapped.

"KAMIYA! BOTAN!" Kikyo screamed as she, Takuya and Mayumi dived down.

"EYE OF MASK!"

"ANGER MASSACRE!"

The two attacks hit the three and sent them down, hitting the ground and becoming unconscious.

"GROUND BREAKING!" Oni shouted as the attack sent bits of rock towards the unconscious group. It too trapped them.

"There is only three more people alive, I'll leave this to me to handle." Oni was then off.

[Forest]

"Rain! Rain! Rain where are you!?" Kurama shouted as he walked through the forest.

'I must find her quick before the Akuma masters do.' Kurama thought.

"EARTHQUAKE MASSACRE!" Oni screamed as the ground shook and split.

Kurama jumped into the air and landed in the tree.

"You're Yoko Kurama, eh? You could join my Akuma Masters and me and serve under Master Kumar Fire now. All you have to do is tell me where that girl is. If you do, you'll earn our trust and become one of us." Oni asked.

Kurama growled in anger, "If you mean by Rain I'll NEVER tell you! I know what you would do to her! I love her and would let NOTHING bad happen to her!"

Kurama then realized what he said and covered his mouth.

Oni looked at him slyly, "Then I know what your weak spot is. This makes things MUCH easier. Well I must be off now, to kill Rain or take her to our master."

With that Oni walked off, leaving Kurama horrified.

'Damn it! I should have kept my mouth shut! Now, I've gotten Rain into danger! Yusuke's NEVER going to let me live because of this! I must protect and save her! I promised Narutaki and myself that I would protect Rain from harm!' With that, Kurama jumped from tree branch to tree branch to find Rain before Oni did.

[Some other Tree]

"I think we've found a safe place." Hiei said as he put Rai down. Rai was still in shock from Hiei carrying her.

Hiei then looked at the scared Rai, "Rai are you okay? You seem worried."

Rai couldn't speak but finally spoke up, "I-I'm fine it's just that I'm worried about Narutaki and Yusuke. I have this feeling that they're in trouble."

Hiei looked at her sternly, "Yusuke can take care of himself Rai and I'm sure he's looking out for him. And if he isn’t, I'll personally kill him."

Rai giggled softly, "Thank you Hiei but I'm pretty sure that Yusuke can watch over Narutaki."

"ANGER MASSACRE!" That shook the entire forest and Hiei held Rai close to him.

"Well, well, it seems I've found what I've been looking for." It was Oni.

Hiei held a firmer grip around Rai, "Who are you!?"

"I'm Akuma Oni, the leader of the Akuma Masters. I'm here to take the young maiden away…kill her or take her to our real master." Oni mocked.

"I'm NEVER handing Rai over to the likes of you!" Hiei retorted.

"Alright, if you're going to play THAT way," Oni's body had a green aura around it, "ANGER MASSACRE!"

The ground rapidly shook and making the trees shake and then making Hiei lose his grip on Rai and he accidentally let go.

"RAI!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Rai screeched as she fell to her doom.

Then she felt herself in the arms of someone else: it was Kurama.

"KURAMA?!" Hiei and Rai asked, very surprised that he came out of nowhere.

Kurama smiled affectionately at Rai, "I promised Narutaki I wouldn’t let anything bad happen to you."

"Th-Thank you Kurama." Rai said blushing.

Hiei growled softly, 'Damn Kurama, damn him to hell!'

Oni mocked softly, "Well all I need to do is take the girl and I'll be on my way," His body had more energy in it, "So goodbye."

"EARTHQUAKE MASS EXECUTION!" With that, Hiei jumped from the tree and Kurama held tighter onto Rai.

Then the entire forest collapsed unto them. Oni jeered loudly, "Well I didn't get the girl but maybe next time they'll be prepare to witness the Akuma Masters of Hell!"

Underneath the trees lay an unconscious Kurama, Hiei and Rai. Kurama held Rai tightly in his lifeless form and Hiei held unto Rai's wrist and hand tightly.

'Someone, anyone, help us…' Rai thought a single tear rolled down her dirty and bloody face.

Kaya: Why do we listen to Nightwish or Linkin Park to get inspiration for our battle scenes?

Aries: We just do...Y'know?

Kaya: Yes, I guess so.

Ariel: We don't get inspiration for battle scenes with Nami Tamaki do we!?

Raven: Shut up, Kamiya...-__-

Kaya: Where are Kaori, Amika, and Yume?

Aries: Yume is helping Kaori make cookies and lunch. Amika, is off somewhere.
