The Red Rose of Love

Chapter 22

One day, in the Makai, a beautiful tennyo had come to the Makai. She walked around until she noticed a lake so she decided to bathe in it. While she bathed, a youkai kistune watched her and he immediately fell in love with her. Thus, the two met and they instantly fell in love with each other. The tennyo's mother, who was the queen of all the tennyo was happy for her lovely daughter and allowed her daughter to be with her demon lover. But the king of the Heavens was indeed angry, for he wanted his daughter to marry a warrior from the Heavens. He banished his daughter from the Heavens but that didn't matter to the tennyo. The tennyo's best friend and trustworthy lady-in-waiting came with the tennyo. For years, the couple lived together with the tennyo's best friend and lady-in-waiting being their friends. The years went by and tennyo and demon had three beautiful children and their lives went on peacefully...

[Makai-Fields]

"Mommy, Daddy, I found a spot for the picnic!" A little girl with dark blue hair and crimson eyes said happily. She wore a pink tunic dress and her dark blue hair was in two Chinese buns with pink ribbons holding them up.

"Finally, now we can eat the food we brought." A boy with long dark brown hair that was in a ponytail and crimson eyes said. He wore a white and silver tunic.

"Yeah, I agree with Lynx as well!" Another boy said. He was much younger the boy named "Lynx". This boy had silver hair and golden eyes and had a tail on the back of him. He wore a white tunic.

Another female was behind the three children and she smiled happily. She had long dark blue hair that ended at her waist and golden eyes. She wore a white kimono and had a hagaromo on top of it too. She was a tennyo from the Heavens. She was Lady Sayori, a fallen Tennyo and the daughter of the Queen of the Tennyo and the Heavens.

There was a man beside her with silvery hair and crimson eyes and had a tail behind him and wore the same thing as the youngest boy. He was a youkai kistune from the Makai. He was Seiichi, a well-known youkai kistune thief.

These young children that stood in front of them were their children.

Their eldest son was Lynx of Oracle; he was born under the constellation of Lynx and his symbol that he was given was Oracle so he was named Lynx of Oracle. Since his mother was daughter of the Queen of the Heavens, he would be the next male heir to the King's throne.

Kaya Katanya was Seiichi's and Sayori's only daughter and their middle child. She was the little princess of her father's eyes and Sayori's little "Kohana". She was named Kaya Katanya after Sayori's mother and Kaya's grandmother Kaya Katanya. She was like her mother, a tennyo and was the female heir to her mother's throne and would become Queen of all the Tennyo, while her older brother Lynx would become King of all the Heavens.

And finally, there was Seiichi's and Sayori's youngest son, Yoko Kurama. He wasn't a tennyo like his sister Kaya nor a heir to his mother's throne in the Heavens. He was a youkai kistune like his father Seiichi. He was the only demon out of Sayori's and Seiichi's children but that didn't matter to them at all.

"I see you've found a perfect place for us to eat, my little Kohana." Sayori smiled at her little "Kohana".

Kaya smiled graciously at her mother. She had the same loving spirit of her mother and looked almost exactly like her except that young Kaya had crimson eyes instead of golden.

"Can we NOW eat now?" Yoko whined as his tail swished back and forth.

"I see that little Yoko is eager to eat the food we brought." A female voice said happily. She had golden hair and sapphire eyes and wore a peasant plain brown dress with white sleeves and a white apron and her long golden hair was in ponytail that was in front of her chest. She was Sayori's best friend Hoshi No Miko, a priestess from the Heavens.

"He absolutely loves our cooking, Hoshi." Another female said while chuckling. She wore a pink kimono and had black silvery hair and beautiful ruby eyes. She was Yayori, Sayori's trustworthy lady-in-waiting.

"Pwease can we eat now, mommy?" Yoko said in a cute young tone as he gave his mother big kawaii chibi eyes.

Sayori laughed happily and picked up her little demon son, "Of course, my little kistune, but of course."

Hoshi and Yayori soon spread out a white blanket on the ground and put the food out. While the little ones played, the adults started to set up the food and drinks.

Sayori smiled happily as she watched her children run around happily, she sat on the blanket and Seiichi put his arm around his wife's waist and pulled her close to him.

"I love living here, love, it's the perfect place for our children to be raised. It's much better than the Heavens with their strict laws and I would always worry about Yoko, since he's a youkai kistune." Sayori said as she watched her children run around, especially little Yoko.

"Yes, I had a feeling you were thinking that, darling." Seiichi said as Sayori nuzzled close to her demon husband.

Hoshi smiled at her best friend and her husband, 'Sayori-chan loves Seiichi-kun and her children. Especially little Yoko, I mean, she loves Kaya and Lynx too as well, but since Yoko is different, she worries for him all the time. But Sayori-chan doesn't play favorites with her children, she loves her children equally with equal amounts of love.'

Yayori then finished setting out the food and drinks and looked up to see the children, "Children, lunch is ready!"

"Yay! Food!" Lynx and Yoko said happily as they ran to where the food was.

Hoshi and Yayori giggled as they watched the two young boys gobbled down the food.

Sayori laughed at her two sons but then noticed she didn’t see her little Kohana.

"Kohana?" Sayori said, but there was no answer.

"Princess?" Seiichi said, there was still no answer.

"Kaya?" Seiichi and Sayori said, there was still silence.

Sayori immediately stood up and started to run to find her only daughter.

"KAYA! KAYA! KAYA, WHERE ARE YOU!" Sayori screamed at the top of her lungs.

Kaya then looked up from what she was doing and smiled hugely, "MOMMY!"

Sayori looked in the direction she heard the word "mommy" smiled in relief, "Kaya...My little Kohana."

Kaya smiled and hugged Sayori tightly and looked into her golden eyes, "Mommy, I picked these flowers for you and daddy!"

Kaya held up a bunch of yellow, red, purple, and white flowers to Sayori, "Here mommy."

Sayori smiled and picked up Kaya and carried her back to where the others were.

"Daddy!" Kaya said happily as she jumped out of Sayori's arms and ran to Seiichi.

"Princess, there you are! Your mommy and I were worried about you since we didn’t see you." Seiichi laughed as Kaya hugged him tightly.

"Daddy, I brought you and mommy flowers I found in the fields!" Kaya said happily as she handed Seiichi some of the flowers to her father.

"Oh Princess, they're beautiful, thank you so much!" Seiichi said happily as he took the flowers from Kaya.

He then took out a red flower and put it in Kaya's dark blue hair, "For you, Princess."

Kaya smiled happily, "Thank you so much, Daddy!"

Seiichi laughed, "You're welcome, Princess."

Kaya then handed some flowers to Sayori, Hoshi, and Yayori, who also thanked the little Kaya.

While Yoko and Lynx gobbled down the food and Kaya making a flower wreath, the adults talked about many things.

Seiichi then put a pink flower in Sayori's dark blue hair and kissed her on the cheek, "For you, my beloved."

Sayori blushed a pinkish glow, "Th-thank you, love."

Seiichi smiled kindly at his beautiful wife and then kissed her again.

"Yoko-kun, here's a flower wreath for you!" Kaya said happily as she place a flower wreath on Yoko's head.

"Kaya!!" Yoko whined, he didn't like flowers on his head, especially if Kaya made a flower wreath for his head.

"Oh Yoko-kun, you look SO kawaii!" Kaya squealed as she glomped her younger brother.

"KAYA!!!!" Yoko whined again.

"Yoko, she IS a girl who's your older sister, who cares and loves you very much." Lynx chuckled.

"Big brother, help me...PWEASE!!!" Yoko whined in a baby tone as he swished his tail back and forth.

Lynx then fell over laughing his head off as he watched his younger brother getting "tortured" by Kaya, his younger sister and Yoko's big sister.

The adults soon joined in laughing, seeing Kaya hugging Yoko was indeed adorable, except for little Yoko, who thought it was torture.

Yoko soon joined in laughing with everyone else, everyone was merry until...it happened...

"ANGELIC ARROWS!" Someone shouted as the attack headed straight towards to the group.

The attack soon fell upon the group and there was a blinding light that sent everyone flying into different directions.

When the light was gone, the group was scattered across the field.

Kaya held the little Yoko in her arms, Hoshi and Yayori held the unconscious Lynx and Seiichi held onto the weak Sayori.

Then, four men landed on the ground, with smirks on their faces. They wore golden armor and had crystal angel wings on their backs. They either held a set of bow and arrows or a doubled edged sword in their hands.

They were from the Heavens.

"We are here to retrieve Princess Sayori, her two children Kaya Katanya and Lynx of Oracle, Hoshi No Miko, and Lady-in-Waiting Yayori." One of the men said. He had emerald green hair and ruby eyes.

Yayori smirked, "Its YOU, Seishi Xazai, Seishi of King Toshihiro and Queen Kaya Katanya of the Heavens."

Xazai chuckled, "You know the King's and Queen's Seishi very well, Yayori."

Sayori got up with the help of Seiichi and glared at Xazai, "Seishi Xazai, have you've not heard that I'm banished from the Heavens by my father, King Toshihiro, since I married a demon."

"Yes, yes, we know that Princess Sayori, but that has all changed. The King wishes for your two children, your friend, your lady-in-waiting, and yourself to return to the Heavens immediately."

"I will not unless my husband and my other son can come along too." Sayori declared.

"Your Highness, the King wouldn't approve of having DEMONS, in the Heavens." Xazai said coldly.

"Then, I shall not go with you, Seishi Xazai." Sayori said coolly.

"Well then, we'll just have to take you by force! Get them!" Xazai said angrily. The three men charged at the helpless group.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY, YOU BASTARDS!" Seiichi shouted angrily. But one of the men threw Seiichi into a tree, knocking him half unconscious.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" A female voice screamed.

It was Kaya's.

"K-Kaya...P-Princess..." Seiichi said weakly.

"LEMME GO YOU BIG JERK!" Kaya said as she tried to kick him.

"I will not! Your family shall return to the Heavens no matter what the cost!" The man said.

"LET GO OF MY BIG SISTER!" Yoko said angrily as he charged towards him.

"HOLY LIGHT! BE GONE YOU DEMON!" The man shouted as a light headed straight towards Yoko and sent him flying.

"YOKO!!!" Kaya screeched.

"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY SON, YOU UNGRATEFUL BASTARD!" Sayori screamed angrily, an aura surrounded her.

Xazai grabbed her from behind and detained her from doing any harm.

"LET GO OF ME!!" Sayori screeched.

The other two men already had Hoshi and Yayori and the man that had gotten Kaya, swung Lynx over his shoulder and held Kaya by the waist.

Seiichi growled angrily as he got up weakly, "You can hurt me all you want but," His eyes flickered, "NEVER TOUCH MY WIFE OR HARM MY CHILDREN!"

Xazai smirked, "Demon kind like yourself should have nothing to with us from the Heavens, nevertheless marry a Tennyo who is heir to the throne."

"BASTARD! GIVE ME BACK MY WIFE AND CHILDREN!" Seiichi growled angrily.

"LIGHT'S RECKONING!" Xazai screamed as the attack hit Seiichi and injured him badly.

"DADDY!!!" Kaya screamed.

"SEIICHI!! NO!!!" Sayori screeched.

"D-DAD!!!" Lynx shouted.

"Well now, we'll be off now." Xazai said as he started to fly off.

"DADDY!!! DADDY!!! DADDY, PLEASE HELP ME!!" Kaya screamed as she tried to break free from the man's grasp.

"DAD!!! HELP US, PLEASE!! DAD!!" Lynx shouted.

"SEIICHI!!" Sayori screamed as she reached out her hand.

"SAYORI!!" Seiichi shouted as he reached out her hand, hoping that he could grab it.

"SEIICHI, PLEASE, LISTEN TO ME! I WILL BE BACK, I WILL RETURN TO YOU! WE WILL BE REUNITED AGAIN, ALL OF US! JUST WAIT FOR ME, MY LOVE! WE WILL BECOME A FAMILY AGAIN, PLEASE, WAIT FOR ME!" Sayori screamed.

"NO! SAYORI!!" Seiichi screamed, tears rolling down his face.

"MOMMY! MOMMY, PLEASE, DON'T LEAVE US!! MOMMY!!!" Yoko cried.

But soon, the men, Sayori, Kaya, Lynx, Hoshi, and Yayori were gone.

"N-No..." Seiichi stammered, his hands shaking, tears rolling down his face, "SAYORI, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"MOMMY!!!" Yoko cried.

And there stood two youkai kistunes, crying in the fields, as a gentle breeze blew...

[Present Day-Japan, Tokyo]

A familiar girl walked down the streets of a familiar neighborhood.

'Seeing this neighborhood brings back so many memories I had so long ago...' The girl thought.

She continued to walk until she found herself in front a familiar house, she smiled as she walked to the front door...

[Minamino Residence]

Shiori Minamino was reading a novel in her living room.

'It's been awhile since Shuuichi has come by. I know that he's been staying with a couple of friends for at least a few weeks now, I hope he's alright.' Shiori thought.

There was soon a knock on the door.

'I wonder who that could be...' Shiori thought. She put down the book and walked to the door.

She turned the doorknob and opened the door, "Hello but who are y-" She immediately stopped when she saw the girl in front of her.

Tears soon fell down Shiori's face, "Sakura...my little girl..."

"Yes, mother, I have come back, after 16 years, I've come back." The girl smiled.

Shiori immediately threw her arms around the girl, hugging her tightly and crying.

"My little girl...my little baby girl came home to me..." Shiori cried.

The girl smiled and hugged her mother back.

"Please, Sakura, come inside." Shiori smiled, as she wiped away her tears.

"But of course, mother." The girl said as she walked into her home and shut the door.

[Outside]

'Today was quite an interesting and terrifying day for us all.' Kurama thought.

Everyone had headed back to Rai's home for the rest of the day, so that basically meant they were ditching the rest of school. Kurama decided to pay his mother a visit since it had been a long time since he hadn't seen her for the past few weeks.

'I mean, the woman called Kaya Katanya, knew Rai for some strange reason, and she just disappeared right after she said her name.'

::She hasn’t changed at all...she's still that caring loving girl she always was...:: Yoko said quietly.

/Yoko, what are you talking about?/ Kurama asked.

::Oh...um...heh...nothing! Nothing you should know or care about.:: Yoko exclaimed.

Kurama smirked, 'He's acting strange for some reason...'

/Tell me, Yoko, do you know this Kaya Katanya?/ Kurama asked.

::That's private y'know.:: Yoko pointed out.

/Yoko, its just a simple answer: Do you know this woman Kaya Katanya?/ Kurama asked again.

::Well...I guess you can say that...but can we PLEASE change the subject!:: Yoko moaned.

/What topic do you have mind?/ Kurama asked.

::Rai Urameshi.:: Yoko said happily.

Kurama instantly flushed a pinkish glow.

::C'mon, Shuuichi, she's one hot babe! She's sweet, innocent, gentle, kind, and has one sexy body!:: Yoko said in a husky tone.

/Yoko...can we change THIS subject, please?/ Kurama begged.

::C'mon, Shuuichi, I know you want her...:: Yoko exclaimed.

Kurama then blushed red.

/YOKO!!!/ Kurama wailed, feeling embarrassed.

Kurama sighed, 'Great...I have another person after the girl I love now...'

::I heard that, Shuuichi! Besides, she'll choose me over you! I'm better in the bed!:: Yoko snickered.

Kurama's face instantly went entirely red from Yoko's comment.

/YOKO, DON'T BE PERVERTED!/ Kurama said angrily to his friend.

::Well it is TRUE!:: Yoko pointed out.

He was soon in front of his home and walked to the door of his home. He had the keys so he unlocked it and went inside.

'Finally...I'm home...' Kurama thought in relief.

::Y'know, you don’t have to be mean about it!:: Yoko pouted.

"Mother, I'm home!" Kurama said as he walked into the hallway of his home.

::Do NOT ignore me! Answer me when I'm talking to you, Shuuichi!:: Yoko said with a fake strict tone.

Kurama ignored his little Yoko friend and sighed as he took off his shoes.

Shiori came out of the living room, with a huge smile on her face, "Oh Shuuichi, what a pleasant surprise! Come here, dear, I have a surprise for you."

::SHUUICHI!!! STOP IGNORING ME!!:: Yoko whined.

Kurama nodded and followed his mother to the living room, completely ignoring the whining youkai kistune.

When Kurama walked into the living, his eyes widened and he covered his mouth from gasping too loudly.

There, sitting on the couch, drinking herbal tea, was the girl from before.

It was Kaya Katanya.

::IT'S HER! MY SISTER HAS RETURNED TO ME!!:: Yoko yelled happily.

/What are you talking about, Yoko? Wait-Kaya Katanya is YOUR sister?!?!/ Kurama exclaimed.

"Shuuichi, honey, I want you meet Sakura, your older sister." Shiori said happily.

"Older...sister...?" Kurama said in confusion.

Shiori gestured him to sit down on the couch next to Kaya and he did.

"I was planning on telling you sometime this year but now I can. You see, before you were born, I had two children. I had a son named Shunichi and a daughter named Sakura. When Shunichi was 5 and Sakura was still a baby, they were kidnapped. Apparently, that was a year before I had you." Shiori said calmly.

Shiori smiled but had tears coming down her face, "But, today, your sister, Sakura, came back, she's only a year older than you. Your older brother, Shunichi, is in America, and in his last year of college, that is what Sakura has told me. I was so happy to see my little girl again, it's been so many years since I've seen them."

"Yes, Shunichi plans to come back to Japan next year, mother, so you'll be able to see him." Kaya said politely.

Kurama just sat there, confused and happy, for his mother.

"Well, I'll be making a late lunch for the both of you, so I suggest you two talk for a little bit." Shiori said as she stood up and walked out of the living room.

Kurama instantly looked at Kaya, "B-But you're..."

Kaya stood up and walked over to a window, "Yes, I know. I'm both your sister in your past and modern life now. Yoko Kurama was my younger brother and your older brother is Lynx of Oracle and I, Kaya Katanya was your older sister."

::She's absolutely right on that part...:: Yoko pointed out.

::Yoko, why didn’t you tell me this?:: Kurama asked.

::You never asked.:: Yoko said.

"Our mother, Sayori of Heavens, was a tennyo and heir to the throne. She was 1 of 10 children that her mother, Kaya Katanya, had. I was named after our grandmother. Lynx, our elder brother, is heir to the throne to be King of the Heavens, while I, Kaya Katanya, is heir to the throne as the title Queen of the Tennyo." Kaya said calmly.

::Yup, she's right on that too.:: Yoko exclaimed.

"Seiichi, the famous youkai kistune thief of the time, was our father, which you must know that. Hoshi No Miko and Lady-in-Waiting Yayori came from the Heavens to live with our mother and father."

::She's right on that too.:: Yoko pointed out.

"Mother, Lynx, Hoshi, Yayori, and I were forced away from you and Father. We were brought back to the Heavens, since before Mother was banished from the Heavens from marrying a demon and have one demon son."

"But, Mother was deeply sadden, and couldn't return to Seiichi for the longest time. Lynx and I grew up some of our lives in palace, learning of how to become the heirs to our Mother's throne. Lynx was 13 and I was just 8. But, soon, they came and ruined our lives again." Kaya's eyes narrowed.

"Who came?" Kurama asked.

::Yeah, who came?:: Yoko asked.

"The Akuma Masters and their leader, Master Kumar Fire of Hell..." Kaya said coldly.

Kurama gasped, "H-How can that be!? The Akuma Masters and Kumar Fire only appeared just this year!"

"I know what you're talking about, Kurama, but before THESE Akuma Masters and Kumar Fire, there were the original group." Kaya said bitterly.

Kurama raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Original?"

"Yes, before these Akuma Masters and Kumar Fire, the original ones took over. They slaughtered so many people in the Heavens, but our Mother sent us to Earth, to reborn and that someday that she would come to retrieve us when we were older. Mother and the entire Royal Family escaped to a safer part of the Heavens, but Mother knew Lynx and I couldn't live here anymore since we are the heirs to the throne and they would kill us. But the Akuma Masters and Kumar Fire were executed several years later. But apparently, they must have found new bodies to take over and be reborn into them." Kaya said coldly.

"Anyway, we were reborn in the womb of Shiori Minamino and thus bringing forth Sakura and Shunichi Minamino. We knew our history of what happened before, all back to when we were with Yoko and Seiichi, when we were just babies. But apparently, when I was born, and Lynx was just 5, we were kidnapped by the Akuma Masters, the 'new' ones, and were sent into a deep sleep, never to awaken. But, the children of Lady Arella, Takuya No Oji and Mayumi No Miko, the Children of Destiny, awakened me from my deep slumber. They tried to do the same thing with Lynx, but sadly, he couldn't be awakened." Kaya said sadly as she looked out the window.

"I see..." Kurama said. It was the only thing he could say.

::Woah...Kaya, I didn't know you and Lynx had to go through so much...:: Yoko said sadly.

Kaya turned to face Kurama and smiled at him, "I know what happened to you too, Yoko, so don't feel bad about it."

Kurama gasped but Kaya giggled, "Don't worry, dear brother, I can read your mind, and I can also hear the mind of Yoko."

Kurama then smiled at Kaya.

Kaya walked over to Kurama and then took her hand into hers, "My dearest brother, will you accept me, as your sister, again? It's been so long, and I know everything your team and Rai Urameshi's team needs to know."

Kurama then gently hugged her, "Kaya, even if you didn't know about the Akuma Masters, I would still accept you."

::Kaya, I swear, we'll find mom again, and reunite her with dad again!:: Yoko exclaimed.

"But, Yoko, how do you know that Father is still alive?" Kaya questioned.

::I left dad and went to live on my own, he's still alive, waiting for mom to come back. He'll be happy that I found one of my siblings again.:: Yoko smiled.

"All we need left is mother and Lynx and we'll be a family again." Kaya said, tears rolling down her face.

"Yes, we'll be a family again..." Kurama whispered.

"Shuuichi, Sakura, lunch is ready!" Shiori said happily as she walked into the living room.

Kurama then let go of Kaya and he stood up, "Yes mother."

Kaya nodded and wiped her tears away, "But of course, mommy."

::You still call your mothers mommy!?:: Yoko asked, surprised.

'Oh Yoko, you're still the little brother I knew.' Kaya thought.

The three of them, then, walked out of the living room and to the kitchen.

[Urameshi Estate]

"...Yet again, everyone is acting like complete idiots..." Hiei mumbled under his breath.

"GOD DAMN IT, PEOPLE, KEEP IT DOWN! ARIEL-CHAN NEEDS HER REST, JESUS CHRIST!" Hiromi screamed at the top of her lungs.

"YOU'RE NOT HELPING THE SITUATION AT ALL!" Yusuke screamed.

While Hiromi and Yusuke bickered, everyone else just complained.

"I'm hungry!" Kikyo moaned.

"I'm bored..." Kyo and Takuya sighed.

"I want new clothes!" Mayumi and Botan whined.

"SHUT UP ALREADY!!!" Kai shouted angrily.

"You could have said it in a nicer tone, Kai..." Shun sighed in annoyance.

"How 'bout YOU shut up, KAI!?" Kuwabara exclaimed.

"Make me, baka." Kai growled.

Hiei kept himself from killing everyone in the room, '...Shut the fuck up already, you idiots...'

"Oh, Hiei, there you are!" Rai said happily.

Hiei immediately turned around to see a smiling Rai and he flushed pink, "R-Rai..."

"Hiei, want to go for a walk with me?" Rai asked sweetly.

Hiei's face then instantly turned red, "I-I..."

Rai continued to smile at him sweetly.

"I'll go with you, especially to get away from this idiots!" Hiei said turning away to blush more.

Rai giggled, 'That was a likely Hiei answer.'

Rai then took Hiei's hand, "Well then, let's go!"

Rai continued to smile happily at Hiei and Hiei continued to blush red. She soon held onto Hiei's arm and then they were off.
