Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Poltergiest Report: The Pain of Weakness ❯ Chapter 8: Yusuke's New Neighbor ( Chapter 8 )
Chapter 8
Yusuke quietly crept past his unconscious mother who had drooled all over the kitchen table as she slept. "She looks happy. I hate it when she goes on these three day binges." He said disgustedly and opened the dirty fridge.
He was just about to sit down on the couch with a small sandwich when he heard a voice cry out, "WHOA! WHOA! YEAAAH!" There was a thud and the sound of things falling and rolling everywhere just outside his door. He jumped to his feet and flung the door open.
A young girl maybe his age was on her hands and knees cursing under her breath as she scrambled to pick up the objects that had spilled out of the box she had dropped. "Stupid card board." She muttered. "Um, do you need some help?" Yusuke asked. "Why sure I-" as the girl looked up her eyes widened. "That kid! The Spirit Detective! No wonder why Koenma found a place so soon. He's putting me right next door to the human pistol so that he can keep an eye on me. That little son of a-" She stopped and quickly smothered her surprise, "Uh, yeah, I do kinda need some help. If you don't mind." "Sure." Yusuke bent over and began to pick up some of the things that had scattered on the floor.
He looked up and said, "I don't believe I've seen you around here before. Just move in?" The girl smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I think you're my new neighbor. I'm moving into the apartment next door." "That's cool. My name's Yusuke. Yusuke Urameshi. And yourself?" Yusuke replied offering her a hand up. "Sasuke, Yashasama, Sasuke. I hope that we'll be friends." The girl said smiling. "Sure, just make sure that you don't blow up the apartment building and we'll get along fine." Yusuke replied. Sasuke began to laugh, then she looked at him. Her eyes glimmered slightly.
"She seems so familiar. Nah, it can't be." Yusuke thought shaking his head. "Something wrong?" Sasuke asked innocently. "Nah. You just reminded me of someone." Yusuke replied. "I hope it's not an ex of yours." Sasuke replied smiling. "I never had a girlfriend." Yusuke replied following Sasuke into her apartment as he carried the box for her. "I find that hard to believe. A nice attractive guy like you. You have to be like someone's dream man." Sasuke said taking the box from him. "Well, this dream man has a lot on his plate. I don't have time for a girl." Yusuke replied. Sasuke nodded sympathetically, "I'll buy that. Well, thanks for grabbing that for me." "We'll see each other around." Yusuke replied leaving.
As soon as the door closed Sasuke made a sign with her hands and everything unpacked itself. "Now this is what I call starting over again. New look. New home. New Clothes. New Things. I must admit that the little guy is thorough. Now for some research on Mr. Urameshi."
It was true that now she looked different. Her hair had been cut to an attractive length which was right below her shoulder. The wrappings had been removed and she had been fitted with an entire wardrobe of modern wear. She had educated herself on all of the mannerisms of the time and had let the more cheerful part of her personality take over on autopilot for a while. Things seemed perfect.
She poured over the files and the videos on the Spirit Detective for the entire day. Analyzing this and marking notes on that. "So, Yusuke Urameshi currently aged 19. Was killed and regain his life by completing a test of some sort. Is in possession of a Spirit Beast and has killed a number of the most powerful demons, Rando, Suzaku and Toguro to name a few. Trained under the renowned Genkai and absorbed the Spirit Orb. Recently has fallen out of use by Koenma and has been given puny and insignificant assignments instead of some more important issues that have been on hand. As for his team, Kazuma Kuwabara, Suichi Minamino a.k.a Kurama and…Hiei. Won the Dark Tournament together. Not a shabby bunch. I've seen them in action. This is a good thing…it is even better to know that Yusuke has the Majin blood pumping in him. For now, I'm happy with my results. Maybe later I'll pay Hiei a visit."
