My arms ached, and sweat trickled down my temple. My arms felt like they were jelly, it was a wonder how they didn't break on me yet. Also how I didn't let down my arms yet, guess I'm already attached to this team. But there was one thing on my mind right now: How long did we think we could last before the ceiling would finally crush us? Not long, I looked around, seeing everyone's pained faces. They must be so exhausted, even the 'great experienced member of the group' was having hard time. Even though I would be smirking if I wasn't in this situation, I couldn't right now because we needed all the help we can get if there are more traps like this further into the castle.


*Well isn't this fucking perfect?* I thought turning back to the front, glaring at the eyeball as it flew around, laughing with glee. *When I go to Reikai, I'm going to personally kick Koenma's ass!* I thought with an irk mark, my eyes turning black with anger.


"This always has been my favorite part of the trial, watching the way you squirm while your muscles begin to pop and tear under the ceilings weight. But of course the best is your eyes, seeing the gears of thoughts turn into desperation. Thinking, questioning yourself: 'How long can I hold this? Will I die this way? Will one friend betray us and escape while we flatten? Or should I be the one?'." The eyeball said, a sadistic tone in it's voice as it stared at us with it's huge eye. That thing is just creepy!


"Just ignore that punk, and stick together." Kuwabara managed to choke out, attempting to lift the ceiling higher, but it just wore him out, and it lowered again.


I sighed sadly, looking down at the ground. *Great, we're going to die.* I thought with anime tears running down my cheeks, and I wanted to at least fight something!


"And if anyone tries to run, I swear I'll drag them back myself." Kuwabara threatened us, glaring at us with a suspicious gaze. Especially Hiei, I wonder why.


"Ha." Hiei scoffed. "And I suppose you think it would be 'noble' if we all died as a team?" He asked.


"That's right." Kuwabara nodded, still glaring.


"You two are just going to be a joy in Reikai." I said sarcastically, looking over my shoulder at them.


"Don't lump me in the same category as Shorty here, Kira!" Kuwabara whined, and I gave him a 'all right then...' look.


Yusuke looked frustrated, and said through gritted teeth. "Here's a thought, lets shut up and find a way out!"


He was loosing his temper with us, not like I could blame him, we were about to die! And I guess shouting and making fun of each other wasn't the best way to deal with it. But I find it fun, so :P. I was snapped out of my thoughts though when I looked over at the eyeball. It was flying around the switch, and I bet if it had a mouth, it would be smirking at us. Only more reason to want to get out of this alive so this thing can go to hell! I looked away from the eyeball for a second and stared at the switch. How were we going to get it without all of us dieing? God damn it! Why did this have to happen now?!


*Come on, Kira, think! Be useful or something!* I shouted in my head, looking down in concentration. And suddenly my thoughts when back to when we first saw Kurama and Hiei. Hiei was fast. Aw man! I can't believe I'm doing this!


"Hiei." I called, side-glancing at him and he looked at me. "You're a lot faster than any of us, we'll hold the ceiling while you go and flip the switch." I instructed, giving him a serious look that did not match
my personality at all, but in desperate times, people can surprise you.


"Are you crazy?! We can't trust this guy, just look! He doesn't care at all about us!' Kuwabara shouted at me like I lost my mind.


"Your ugly friend has a good point, Onna." Hiei said, smirking as Kuwabara glared at him.


"Whose ugly? Come here you mouse!" Kuwabara shouted angrily, desperately trying to move to catch Hiei in his hands so he could choke him, but I shot him a 'if you even move I'll kill you' look, and that stopped him.


"Just do it, Hiei!" Yusuke shouted, looking at Hiei.


"Are you sure you want to trust me? I already vowed my revenge on you, maybe I'll handle that now." Hiei smirked at Yusuke, a murderous look flickering in his blood red eyes. I sweat dropped, why did I ask him do this again?


"Yeah, but I don't think quick deaths are your style." Yusuke answered back, smirking as well. Hiei didn't say anything else after that, I guess Yusuke was right.


Suddenly red spirit energy started to glow around Yusuke's form. I stared at him, what was he doing? But I stopped when I felt some of the weight start to ease up. I looked back at Yusuke with a surprised face, wow. "I'll let out all of the spirit power I have left to buy us a little time while you run to the switch. Just don't rip." Yusuke explained, and Hiei stared at him weirdly. "I trust you now go!" Yusuke shouted.


Hiei stood there for a second, a little surprised that Yusuke was actually trusting his life with HIM! And like before, I didn't even notice he had ran until a few seconds too late. The ceiling grew heavier without him helping us, and I groaned once again. Great. But I sucked it up and I quickly looked over at the switch, seeing Hiei appear right in front of it. The eyeball, just as surprised as I was, gasped when it saw Hiei in front of it. It flew away slightly out of instinct, and I started to smile, just a few more seconds and we won't have to hold this ceiling up anymore! But, Hiei was about to flip the switch, but stopped short. My smile dropped and I narrowed my eyes. Don't tell me...


"What's the deal?! Pull the stupid switch already!" Kuwabara shouted at Hiei, and was met with a glare in return.


"There is no need to make snap judgments my friend, what have they ever done for you? Leave them and you can come with me into the castle. With the invasion of Earth, the Four Saint Beasts will control the future. Be smart and join us, perhaps you can be the general of our demon army." The eyeball said, manipulating Hiei, and what was worse, was he actually seemed to consider it!


"Don't listen to that freaky eyeball! For all you know, once we die, he'll kill you too!" I shouted, trying to get him back on our side, if he even was to begin with.


"If it weren't for us, you'd still be screaming with the rest of us!" Kuwabara shouted with me, but that only made it worse.


Hiei dropped his hand from the switch, and looked down. His shoulder shook and I heard little evil snickers come from Hiei's general direction. My eyes widened, and I got an irk mark. "What the fuck!? My life is officially sucking right now! First I get captured by Koenma, then I get put on this team, now I'm going to be crushed by a heavy ass ceiling, and it's all thanks to this friggin' asshole! Could any of this get possibly any worse?!" I shouted angrily.


"What are you laughing about?!" Kuwabara shouted, hearing Hiei snicker as well.


Hiei looked at Kuwabara, his smirk even eviler than his laugh, if that was even possible. "Take a guess you fool." He said.


"Damn you!" Kuwabara grunted as the ceiling started to come down again.


"I can't believe I even asked you to do this, but when I die, I'll make your life a living hell Hiei!" I shouted with a growl, glaring at him heatedly.


"I'd like to see you try, Onna." Hiei smirked, oh that damn bastard!


"Yes." The eyeball said. "You find amusement in their pain. Now imagine the satisfaction that will come from their final screams!" The eyeball shouted, and the ceiling came down harder this time, making us fall to our knees.


"Hiei!" Kuwabara and I shouted, we couldn't hold on anymore. If he doesn't somehow come back to our side in a few seconds, we will die!


"A wise choice, a boulder would've crushed you anyway." The eyeball said, and I looked up and glared at Hiei.


"I told you, you asshole!" I shouted with an irk mark, teach him to not listen to my warnings! I hope he get's flattened now, the damn fricking asshole bastard! That would teach him a lesson!


Hiei ignored me and glare furiously at the eyeball, it's back towards him. Not a very good idea when you already told him something that would make him want to kill you. But I don't mind, he can kill that thing, it annoys me. "Thanks for the clue!" Hiei shouted, jumping to reach the eyeball's height. He grabbed his katana, aw he has one too?! But I let that slide when he sliced the eyeball bat thing, right down...it's eyeball. And let me tell you, I laughed hard at that as it screamed and squeaked in pain before flying away. And I let out a sigh a relief when Hiei flipped the switch, and the ceiling ceased it's heaviness.


"He came through!" Yusuke said, smiling happily.


Me and the other smiled too, but that didn't last long. Like the eyeball had said, the boulder fell on him because he pulled the lever. Me and the boys gasped, our eyes wide and our mouth agape as we saw Hiei not even try to get out of the way. Smoke shout out from around the boulder and we all crawled out from under the ceiling. "Hiei!" Yusuke shouted, trying to see through all the smoke around the boulder.


"Holy shit! Is he gonna be OK?!" I shouted, my evil and mean thoughts actually came through, and that looked like it hurt! I cringed as I imagined how that must of felt, again, ouch.


The boys didn't answer, not like I expected them too. But when they stared at something, I got confused. I followed their gazes to fined Hiei standing on top of the boulder. He looked perfectly fine, not even any of the dust was on his robe. He was glaring at the eyeball that was still here for some reason. Oh, so now he was showing off huh? I got an irk mark, the fricking bastard, I bet I could get out of the way of a falling boulder too! I just need to find a boulder...


"Tell your 'masters' that this is their chance to be for mercy!" Hiei shouted, glaring at the eyeball before he flew away, still squeaking and screaming from the gash in it's eye/face.


Me and Yusuke sighed, I guess him using a lot of his spirit energy got to him. I sighed because, as I said before, I'm weak when it comes to physical stuff like that. But speed, that is my domain. Too bad I didn't use it when the ceiling came crashing down on us, or this whole situation could have went over more smoothly than it did. But I also could have been flattened by the boulder, and I wouldn't have gotten out of the way like Hiei did. Man, I just called myself slower than Hiei! T.T


"Hey, you two all right?" Kuwabara asked, looking down at us. Damn him and his giant freakishness.


"Oh yeah, I just can't feel my arms right now." Yusuke said, slumping forward slightly as he lightly tapped his shoulders to make sure they worked.


"Same, but my legs hurt too, man they feel broken." I said with anime tears flying down my face.


Kuwabara smirked at this, and put on his 'charming' smile again. He bowed to me, making me stare at him with a sweat drop and a creeped out face, backing away from him. "Then I'll shall carry you my fair maiden." Kuwabara said, lifting his head, only to see me glaring at him with an irk mark.


"Touch me, and your 'fair maiden' will kick you in places that shouldn't be kicked." I threatened, with that I walked over and stood next to Kurama.


I knew he was the gentleman type, so he wouldn't be like Kuwabara over there. Speaking of Kuwabara, I looked to see his expression. Scared shitless, while Yusuke was laughing his ass off. I smiled satisfied, another days work in scary the shit out of a pervert creep guy. Although he is the only one that I've meet that hasn't tried to rape me, but I still stick to what I said. But I stopped my thoughts when I heard the sounds of feet hitting the ground and looked with the boys to see Hiei.


"I knew you'd save us, you punk." Yusuke said, smirking over a Hiei. And I swear that face Hiei was making was out of embarrassment, ha ha! He does have emotions, it's a fucking miracle! "But you did have me worried, hell of an actor. You know not everyone can pretend and laugh at their dieing friends." Yusuke continued, walking over to Hiei and putting his hand on Hiei's shoulder.


"Hn." Hiei looked away. "Friends are just crutch for the weak. And I wasn't acting." Hiei shrugged Yusuke's hand off his shoulder, while I was staring at him wide eyed.


"What?! I shouted, an anime surprised expression taking over my face. *Oh, I'm going to kick his short little ass!* I thought angrily, I don't care if I'm not that strong, I'll beat him anyway! I started to walk towards him, my fists clenched, but stopped when Hiei spoke.


"Don't confuse it, the only reason I saved you is because I MIGHT need your help." Hiei turned around, pointing at Yusuke, glaring at him slightly. And with that being said, Hiei walked around the boulder, away from all of us.


Kurama walked over to us, and looked at Yusuke. "It's his way of saying 'your welcome', you will learn." Kurama said, smiling slightly at us.


"Right." Yusuke said, unconfined.


"And let me guess, when he stabs us, that's his way of a 'hug' right?" I asked sarcastically, crossing my arms over my chest.


Yusuke and Kuwabara held in their laughter, and I smirked. Kurama chuckled slightly before we all went after Hiei. And when we did, he still migrated his little way away from the team as usual. Trying to be all 'mysterious' and 'cool' or something like that. But I ignored from saying anything and walked along with the guys. And this place actually looks A LOT bigger than it does on the outside, and that's saying something. It was at least an hour since we got inside the castle, and I don't think we even left the first level of the castle yet! And it's a good thing I was a thief, or I would be complaining that my legs were tired. But Kuwabara kind of made up for that, he complained every once in a while, but not enough to make me knock him out and toss him out a window. Hm, that wouldn't be fun. I shivered at the thought of heights, I had a bad experience with heights before, and I have been scared ever since. But the thing that knocked me out of my thoughts were these freaky statues that we were passing in one of the many halls in this place.


*Damn statues, scaring the shit out of me. When this mission is done, I will kick Koenma's ass big time, and King Yemma can go...do something if he doesn't like it!* I thought, glaring at the statues, they were so creepy T.T


{I might help you with that, Onna.} Came a voice inside my head. My eyes widened and I jumped at the sudden voice.


"Ah! There's voices in my head!" I shouted, holding my head. The boys jumped and stared at me weirdly, except for Kurama and Hiei. I sweat dropped before giving them a innocent smile. "Sorry."


We started walking again, but not without Yusuke and Kuwabara laughing at me, and I got an anime mad face. Jerks. *That was scary, who the hell was that?* I thought, getting a little freaked out again. I do NOT like having voices in my head at all!


{You really are stupid, it's me.} The voice said again, and it sounded familiar. But not to my liking. Hiei.


*Hiei?* I asked, keeping the groan from seeping into my thoughts/words.


{Hn.}


*What the fuck are you doing in my head?! That's an invasion of privacy you know!"


{No particular reason, just wanted to see your reaction to my telepathy. And it was pretty entertaining.}


*Oh you bastard! I'm going to kick your ass once this mission is over!*


{I'd like to see you try, Onna.}


*My name isn't 'Onna', It's Akira Chikako, but call me Kira, I like that one better.*


{Hn.}


*You're as talkative as a fucking rock sometimes, ya know that?* I thought annoyed, but Hiei didn't answer. I glared at him, he must have left my mind. Now I feel violated.


Suddenly a ringing sound came from Yusuke's pocket, making me jump out of my thoughts. Kuwabara seemed to be scared of it too, screaming as he backed away. At least i didn't scream. "What is that? Is it safe?" Kuwabara asked calming down as Yusuke pulled out a circular thing from his pocket, and stopped. We all stopped as well.


"It's just a Communication Mirror I got from Botan." Yusuke answered, flipping open the mirror.


*Botan! I haven't talked to her in forever!* I thought happily, as I walked over to Yusuke, looking at the mirror. I smiled when I saw her appear on the screen thing.


"Hello Yusuke, its me Botan from the living world, you copy?" Botan asked, her eyes were closed and she was doing a peace sign. She was smiling like she always does, some people wonder how I became such fast friends with her when I've only really met her for a few hours before Koenma sent me here.


"Yeah." Yusuke said with a smile.


"Hi, Botan!" I shouted taking the communicator from Yusuke's hand, ignoring his shout of surprise.


"Kira! Is that you, how are you?" Botan shouted back happily.


"Great, except we were almost killed by that jackass." I said with a frown, pointing my thumb at Hiei, I felt his glare burning the back of my head. But he can get over it, I wasn't going to let him live that down as long as we were a team.


Botan laughed. "Sounds like fun! But I have to talk to Yusuke now, sorry." Botan said apologetically, I dropped my smile and I pouted.


"Aw! No fair!" I whined before handing it back to Yusuke, pouting more.


Yusuke sent me an annoyed stare, and I smiled innocnetly. He sighed before looking back at the communicator. But just as he was about to say something, Kuwabara took it from him."Hello Botan, this is the brave Kuwabara at your service. I'm taking good care of Urameshi." Kuwabara said, that made me raise an eyebrow at him.


"I'm glad to hear that, I have things under control here as well, more or less. The Makai Insects only like to nest in depressed people's minds. That narrows down my search a bit, I also found another spy from the Saint Beasts, I'm just wondering how they're getting past the barrier? See I think there's youkai from outside the city taking orders along the wall." Botan explained.


I looked back at the communicator, seeing Botan and a youkai behind her. "Look out!" Yusuke, Kuwabara and I shouted, Botan just lifted up a rod like thing and smacked the demon in the face, knocking it out. Man I know nothing of this human stuff! Someone better tell me about those before this mission is over, or I"m going to be pissed.


"Don't worry, these guys are nothing. The real challenge is find the Makai Insects. I've only got 15 of those buggers and I've been searching almost an entire day." Botan said.


Kuwabara decided to act 'cool' again, putting on his 'lady charmer' and we all know how good that works -__-;;;. "Don't worry baby, you'll ow!" Kuwabara tried to say but Yusuke punched him in the face. Leaving Kuwabara with a nice black eye, and a fat lip. I held in my laughter as I looked away from him.


"15? That's not much help." Yusuke said taking back the communicator.


"Yusuke, finding the people controlled by the insects takes time. That's why you need to find that whistle." Botan said before hitting the same demon again. I sweat dropped, wow she's even better at fighting than me. Man that just plain sucks!


"A whistle?" I turned to Kurama and Hiei. "And what 'Makai Insects'? What the hell is going on in Ningenkai?" I asked confused, making them look at me weirdly.


"You mean you don't know why we're here?" Kurama asked, looking at me slightly surprised.


I nodded. "Yep, Koenma just sent me here and didn't tell me anything." I answered with a shrug of my shoulders.


"Really?" Hiei asked in a disbelieving voice.


I glared at him, and pouted again. "All right he did, but I didn't even listen to him. He took all my jewels, so I just thought 'hey why not make Koenma mad, don't pay attention to him.' and that's what I did." I said not looking at the boys.


"I guess Koenma's getting desperate to find new team members if he's sending girls like you on life threatening missions like this." Hiei mumbled, and I got an irk mark.


"Say that again, Hiei, and I'll do what I said to Kuwabara!" I shouted/threatened, my anime mad face getting bigger. Hiei sweat dropped slightly at me, but held his glare and I matched it.


"All right you two, let's get going. We have to find that whistle." Yusuke said walking over to us, pulling me away from Hiei. He already knows that I was already getting ready to attack the little bastard. So better safe than sorry right? Although, I hope he doesn't think he can keep me from hurting Hiei for long, cause I won't let that happen. No way, he deserves it!


I pouted and walked beside him, I don't see why he just won't let me hit Hiei once. It's not like it would hurt him, but I guess he could hurt me. I'd like to see him try, but I'm getting off topic with this whole story. We all walked down the corridors again, and along the way, Kurama told me about our mission. Apparently the Four Saint Beasts have sent a wave of Makai Insects into Ningenkai so they could take over the world, the Ningens as their slaves. And they're controlling the insects with the Makai Whistle as Botan mentioned earlier. So all we need to do is, take out the saint Beasts, and get the whistle. Easier said than done, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end. If not, then I'm going to be pissed the hell off. I would like to keep living thank you very much.


"Hey Kurama." Yusuke asked, breaking the silence that had followed for a few minutes. "What do you know about these 'Four Saint Beasts'? Botan pushed us down that hole like a couple of cows and I didn't get a chance to ask her." Yusuke explained as we all stopped, and I snickered, making him send me another -_-* face. To which I smiled cutely at.


"She wouldn't of told you much, I'm afraid." Kurama looked at Yusuke, that made me and Kuwabara stare at him confused. "Ever since the barrier wall was raised around this city, Spirit World Intelligence virtually forgot this place existed." Kurama explained, seeing our faces.


Kuwabara stared at Kurama suspiciously. "What do you know?" He asked.


"Let's just say that when you see their bodies, you may be very surprised." Kurama said smiling slightly.


A loud rumble shot through the castle after he said that, and a dark laughter filled the halls. "Terrified, isn't that more like it?" The voice sounded werid and deep, and it was all around us. Making it hard to tell where the enemy could be.


"Ah!" Kuwabara shouted. "Who said that?!"


We all turned around, forming a small circle so that enemy couldn't sneak up on us, and we waited for the reply. "There is a door behind you, please take it." The voice said, laughing darkly again before it faded away.


"I don't see why we should do that, it could be a trap." I said staring at the door that magically appeared behind us, like the monster voice said.


"You figure that out all on your own, Onna?" Hiei asked.


"Shut up!" I shouted with an anime vein pop.


"You two shouting isn't getting us anywhere." Yusuke said with a sigh, turning to the door. He and Kuwabara both got a door, and pushed them open to reveal a dark room with a few lit torches on the rock walls. "Well, ladies first." Yusuke said, turning to me, and I stared at him like he was crazy.


"NO! Make Kuwabara go!" I shouted, hiding behind Kurama and Hiei. Yusuke snickered and I glared at him slightly before we all walked into the room.


The first thing that Yusuke did, was walk over to the torches. Smart I would say, since everywhere else was black. I couldn't see a damn thing, and that's surprising to say the least. But my thoughts of saying 'smart idea Yusuke' smashed when he through the torch on the ground, a few feet in front of us. I stared at him with a confused look on my face, but stopped when I saw a huge shadow form on the wall. I looked and what I saw made me get a 0.o face. It was a...rock?! It was a huge fucking rock youkai monster thing! It's eyes were a creepy yellow like those youkai from outside. It laughed darkly at us, seeing our surprised faces. Minus Kurama and Hiei.


"Haha, welcome trespassers." The rock said, smirking at us evilly.


"Ah! OK! I'm surprised!" Kuwabara shouted, stepping back out of shock. I don't blame him one bit, cause I did the same thing.


"I am Genbu of the Four Saint Beasts, do you have any questions before you die?" He asked us, and Yusuke took that opportunity to act like a smart-ass, and I say: Go Yusuke!


"Yeah, tell me how a beast is a saint? I'm lost." Yusuke said, and I laughed.


"Nice." I said giving him a high five.


Genbu just ignored us. "This stairwell is the only way to the castle tower, you can either defeat me and go up on your own-." Genbu started to say, and smashed his tail into the ground, creating a huge hole. "-or be dragged there once you've stopped breathing?!" He shouted, and I raised my hand.


"I have a question, why did you just do that? That seemed very unnecessary to say the least." I said, smirking as Genbu glared at me.


"Why don't you all attack me at once, that way the last one left won't feel lonely?" Genbu asked, ignoring my question. That made me glare at him, oh sure he let's Yusuke ask a question, but he just ignores me completely. Well I guess he did that to Yusuke, but still!


"He's a rock Urameshi! How are we suppose to fight against a talking rock?!" Kuwabara suddenly shouted, and that got me annoyed, and I was still in a bad mood because my question didn't get answered.


"Well your a talking ape, but you don't see us complaining." I said, side-glaring at him.


"What?" He asked, looking confused.


"Remember Kira, never engage in a battle of wits with an an unarmed opponent." I mumbled to myself, smacking myself in the forehead. That earned me a couple of snickers from Hiei and Yusuke, and a chuckle from Kurama. Kuwabara...he still didn't get it.


"Anyway. I will fight him." Kurama said, taking a step towards Genbu. We all stopped what we were doing and stared at him shocked. Minus Hiei.


"Are you sure?" Yusuke asked.


"It would be ill advised for all of us to attack without first knowing his power. Besides, I can hardly let Hiei take all the credit for this mission, now can I?" Kurama asked, smiling slightly while Hiei looked away annoyed.


"You want to die one by one? Well I can do that too." Genbu said smirking at the turn of events, seeing Kurama walk towards him.


"Hey! Why don't we just lead him down to that drop down ceiling?" Yusuke asked, and I sweat dropped. Yeah, that will work because you just said that. But I looked back and I couldn't help but feel a little nervous with Kurama fighting Genbu. We don't know what this guy is capable of. Let's just hope he gets out of this fight unharmed.
