~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~

Kuwabara let out a shout, leaping into the air with his sword drawn. Once Kuwabara was near enough to Byakko's face, he let the sword come down on his head. But nothing happened. We all watched in shock as Byakko stared up at him as well, not looking the least bit hurt or surprised by attack, and swatted Kuwabara away like he was nothing but a mere fly. Kuwabara let out a breathless gasp as his back hit the ground with a sickening thud that made me wince. But after a second of controlling his breathing, Kuwabara was back to struggling to his feet. I didn't know what to think about this, why the hell was Kuwabara trying to defeat him all on his own? He's going to die, he looks about to pass out so wouldn't it make sense to just let us help him? Apparently not, cause Kuwabara doesn't believe so, god ningens are so weird.

"I'm never gonna give up on this fight!" Kuwabara stood breathlessly, his chest heaving up and down heavily. "Not matter how big you get!" He shouted, his eyes narrowed on the 'white' tiger youkai.

Yusuke narrowed his eyes in worry at his friend, but tore his gaze off of him before he turned to Kurama. "So, are you sure?" He asked.

Kurama nodded as he said. "Positive, Kuwabara is helping him."

"God dammit, this is fucking bad." I bit my lip, my fear rising for the stubborn and stupid ningen.

Kuwabara stared down at his miniature Spirit Sword, a look of frustration covering his face, his eyes narrowed into a glare. “This doesn't make any sense.” He mumbled to himself, clenching his teeth as his anger grew. But that only grew when he heard Byakko laugh, making his glare turn to the Saint Beast.

Byakko chuckled. “Why is it so hard to understand, ningen? Your weapon is made of pure energy, and it's feeding my spirit's appetite like a fresh slab of red meat. Unless you want to keep making me bigger and stronger, I suggest you throw down your sword.” He said with a smirk on his chops.

“Now way.” Kuwabara scoffed, a smirk on his lips as well.

Placing his sword in front of him, Kuwabara concentrated as his pushed more of his Spirit Energy into it, making the once small dagger go back to it's original size. I could see the sweat forming on Kuwabara's face, and his breath was coming out faster than it had before, he was really going to hurt  himself if he keeps it up. And I could tell by Byakko's expression, he was thinking the same thing, but his wasn't out of concern like mine, it was out of pleasure. He even found it comical, seeing as he was still chuckling like this was the most hilarious things he has ever seen in his entire life. Which was probably true, seeing as how the Saint Beasts stayed in this castle for years, like Byakko had stated earlier. Still, seeing Byakko enjoy this infuriated me to no end.

“So, this is your plan?” Byakko asked, his smirk getting wider. “To feed me?” To which Kuwabara returned.

“That's right.” Kuwabara said, cockily.

Kuwabara's expression became serious once again, and he got into a fighting position, his newly recovered sword in front of him. Getting a better grip on the sword, Kuwabara kicked off the ground and ran towards the now serious 'white tiger'. Both yelling at the tops of their lungs -man it was like Dragonball Z in here- both drawing closer to each other. I felt myself tense up, wondering which fighter was going to get there first, which one was going to attack first, and which one would probably die first. I didn't want it to be Kuwabara, as I said before, I find him to be a friend and I don't want him dieing while I can do something, but I'm not so that only makes it even worse. But I silently scolded myself for getting distracted and watch the two fighters run at each other with the intent to kill with fear-filled eyes.

Kuwabara let out one more shout as he appeared in front of Byakko, and almost let out a smirk as he saw an opening. Byakko was in front of him, his mouth wide open and very vulnerable, just like he wanted it to be. Pulling back his sword, he let it plunge into Byakko's mouth, allowing Byakko to have an easier access to having the former's Spirit Energy. Two gasps flew from our direction, Kurama and I stared at Kuwabara in shock, while Hiei looked impassive as ever, and Yusuke was thinking Kuwabara got him. And I bet Kurama and I were thinking the same thing: What the hell was Kuwabara doing? That was probably the most idiotic thing I have ever seen, and mistakes like that get people killed in fights like this, and that seems like that's how this little match was going to end. But the person who will be dead won't be Byakko, not that I'm doubting him or anything, but he can't possibly fend off Byakko without and Spirit Energy left, it was jut impossible.

“Kuwabara!” I shouted, my eyes wide, but the makings of an irk mark was appearing on my temple. “What the hell are you doing, you baka?!” I couldn't believe that he was just practically saying 'here, eat my energy!'.

“All right!” Yusuke shouted as he pumped his fist, not realizing what Kuwabara had just done.

Kurama frowned, his eyes narrowing at the fight, saying. “This may not be good.”

Byakko got over his initial shock of how stupid the ningen was before him. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity of getting free Spirit Energy, he began swallowing the tasteless substance. He could feel himself growing larger, and his strength increasing as well. This was all too easy, and he liked that, although he was a bit unsatisfied that he couldn't have had a little more fun before draining the ningen. What Kuwabara was feeling was rather different from the youkai before him, he could feel his Energy flowing from him rapidly, and his body began to weaken considerably. He gasped, as if Byakko was sucking the very air from his lungs, struggling to stand up as he kept his sword in the youkai's throat. Seconds went by painfully slow, before Kuwabara got over his own shock and looked at the youkai with wide eyes.

“N-no!” He gasped to himself. “He can't!”

“Just let go.” Yusuke mumbled, his fist clenching, now seeing what me and Kurama saw. Hiei must have, but he didn't let it show outwardly, not like I would expect him too anyway.

Kuwabara realized his mistake, although too late, and tried to pry his sword free from Byakko's throat. But it wouldn't budge, and he was growing desperate as he heard Byakko laugh. His heart rate picked up at the sound, when Byakko laughed everyone knew that what was coming was not going to be good at all. However, Kuwabara's futile attempts to free his sword came apparent when his Spirit Sword suddenly disappeared from his hands. Kuwabara's knees buckled when he felt he was out of Spirit Energy, or close to it I should say, and fell face first into the ground, exhausted. While Byakko only stared down at him and let out a throaty chuckle, his smirk stretching wider to show his sharp fangs, just waiting to eat the ningen before him.

“Thanks.” Byakko spoke, making all of us look at him, seeing him rub his stomach with satisfaction. “You had more Spirit Energy on your bones than I thought. Eating all of it nearly got me full.” But the smirk dropped when he saw Kuwabara struggle to his knees, glaring angrily at the ground below him.

“I'm not done yet.” Kuwabara managed to say, holding out a shaky hand. The familiar orange glow appeared in his palm, producing the small little dagger that we saw earlier.

“Aw man, this looks bad, looks like his Spirit Sword's had a down size.” Yusuke said, his eyes widening in fear of his best friend's life. Even if he didn't want to admit they were best friends, it was obvious, even to me and I've only known them for more than a few hours, and seeing that person being hurt in front of him was scary and infuriating.

“How is he going to win this fight now?” I asked quietly, my hands clasping in front of my chest, my 'heart beating' hard against my chest in worry.

Kuwabara got to his feet, making our attention and eyes snap to him in an instant. “I dare you to come closer.” He challenged, making all four of us shocked, OK not really Hiei, and Byakko chuckle at him again.

“Ha!” Byakko laughed. “You can't even stand anymore! You're nothing but a dead animal.” Byakko said, lifting his now giant foot, kicking the defenseless ningen. And he only laughed more as Kuwabara's body rolled towards the end of the platform. “Crushing you will be the perfect exercise after my giant meal. As soon as there's room in my stomach, that's were you'll go.” Byakko walked over to the motionless teen, a sadistic look coming over the youkai's face at a fast pace, scarring me slightly.

“I'm not sure if I can crack jokes about this,” Yusuke spoke up, his tone holding concern. “Kuwabara's really gonna get killed now.” His eyes not straying from the red head for a second.

I nodded. “Same here, even if he annoyed me at first, he doesn't deserve this.” I said sadly, but anger was coursing through me. I hated how Kuwabara had so much pride that would make him come after me if I stepped in. I didn't want him to die, but I didn't want him to be angry with me either. At times like these, I hate conflicting thoughts, it makes things like this even more difficult than they need to be.

“No, you two, there is a way.” Kurama said suddenly, making us turn to him quickly.

“Well? Then say it!” We both shouted, our eyes widening at the thought of saving Kuwabara from this painful death.

“Byakko's body stopped expanding half way through that attack. That indicates his vulnerability.” Kurama explained, his emerald eyes narrowing at Byakko.

“So you mean he has a weakness.” Yusuke stated after a second.

“Well that's good.” I said letting out a sigh of relief,  at least there's a way to kill Byakko.

The sound of robes moving made me turn around, seeing Hiei standing there, his glare on Kurama. “Don't get their hopes up, Kurama.” He said, slightly annoyed.

“Oh right,” I got a blank look. “You're still here, I thought you would've left by now, seeing as how you don't give a shit about us.” I said, giving the fire youkai a glare, and receiving one in return. However the little glare off didn't last, and Hiei looked away from me, but the glare remained.

“I'm simply saying there is a chance.” Kurama said, not even looking at Hiei, and not seeming to care for his opinion either. Ha.

“Yes, Kurama, if you were the one fighting, but the fool won't be able to see it.” Hiei said.

Hearing that from Hiei did not make me feel any better, and I quickly looked over at Kuwabara again. Byakko had stopped in front of him, the sadistic smirk getting wider as he stared at the motionless ningen. I gasped slightly when I saw Byakko suddenly reach down, and roughly yank Kuwabara up by his collar, lifting him into the air. Kuwabara was gritting his teeth, the feel of his collar tightening around his neck, and the feel of Byakko's claw squeezing him hurt like hell. His hands gripped Byakko's claw, trying to find the strength so he could free himself. Seeing the way Kuwabara was look made a rush of memories start to come back, flashes of pictures appearing before my eyes, but I shook my head trying to rid myself of the thoughts of 'him'.  I had a friend to think about here, and I wasn't going to get distracted that easily.

“You once said you wanted to die!” Byakko suddenly shouted, making my eyes snap to him, only to have them widen as Byakko punched Kuwabara in the face. The red head's body flew across the platform again, landing on the ground and skidding to a stop. I bristled angrily and clenched my fists, bastard!

“Darn.” Kuwabara choked out, as he began to  push himself to sit up, but was failing to do so. And only could watch as Byakko walked over to him again, like a predator would do to it's pray.

“You told your puny ningen friends that you would never stop fighting unless I came down here and killed you myself, remember?” Byakko asked, a dark chuckle escaping his chops.

Anger from both Byakko hurting Kuwabara, and how he kept calling me a ningen exploded with in me, and I glared at the tiger youkai furiously. “How many times to I have to say it?! I'm not a fucking ningen you god damned bastard!” I growled out, my fist clenching, an irk mark pulsing on my temple.

“Calm down, Kira.” Kurama said, giving me a soft look, but they hardened once he looked back at the fight.

As I looked closer, I saw the same coldness I saw from his fight with Genbu, and I could feel the familiar shiver come over me. I was still glad that he was on our side, I just wish that Kurama was fighting Byakko right now. I agree with what Hiei said, although I hate to admit to that fact, Kurama could definitely kill Byakko, unlike Kuwabara was, but I'm not trying to be mean. It would just make more sense, seeing as how Kurama seemed to have more experience with fighting, but with the wound in his stomach and Kuwabara's pride, that wasn't going to happen. Which quickly put a damper on my futile hopes, god I hate when I do that...

“In the end you'll get exactly what you asked for.” Byakko said. “Remember that when I claw you into shreds.”

“No, it turns out I got something else on my mind!” Kuwabara shouted, holding out his right hand as it sparked, a tiny speck of Spirit Energy coming out.

“Don't be worried, I'm quick to the kill!” Byakko shouted back.

Kuwabara glared as he got to his feet, Byakko running towards him with a raised claw, gleaming with the lust for blood. Pouring more of his Spirit Energy into the small little dagger, it became the one and only Spirit Sword, again. It was a wonder that Kuwabara even had that much left in him, and how he wasn't using his Life Energy as a substitute. Although I should be more relieved that Kuwabara still a had a sliver of a chance to survive, but it still worried me that he could actually be using his Life Energy, and could possibly kill himself. But I didn't have the chance to finish that thought. Kuwabara had let out a yell, making me snap out of it, and see Kuwabara  as he caught Byakko's fist  with his sword. He let out a smirk as he pushed away the now shocked and confused Byakko with his newly charged sword, making me stare at him in shock, the others were the same. Quickly getting back into his fighting position, Kuwabara kicked off the ground again and ran at the tiger, and once he got  close enough, plunged his sword into Byakko's gut.

“Kuwabara!” Don't be stupid!” Yusuke shouted, getting over his shock, his eyes narrowed at his friend.

“Kurama said there's till a way to defeat him, don't be reckless!” I shouted as well, my hands cupped over my mouth, thinking that would make him listen and think logically for the first time in this fight.

But Kuwabara only ignored us, and he let the Spirit Sword drop from his hands again, disappearing in small burst of orange light. He was too weak to make another one, his Spirit Energy was actually spent now, and all he could do was just sit back. And that's what he did as he stumbled back, falling face first into the floor again. Byakko's laugh echoed across the platform, seeming to drown out the thunder that cracked in the sky above, making the atmosphere even more dramatic and tense than it was before.

“Kuwabara...” Yusuke mumbled, his eyes showing fear and concern.

“Dammit, I hate just standing here!” I hissed angrily, my fist clenching and unclenching, wanting to punch or break something. I hated watching this, it was driving me insane!

Byakko put his claws, making a grunting sound, pulling our attention from Kuwabara to him. He looked like he was in slight discomfort, good. “You filled me up so much with your Energy, I don't think I have enough room for your body. Oh well, I'll just crush you into pulp for later!” Byakko shouted, raising his foot above Kuwabara's head, preparing to let it slam down on the poor ningen's head.

“Shit.” I heard Yusuke growl under his breath, raising his finger in the shape of something.

It was weird, I've never seen the gesture before. His pointer finger was pointing at Byakko, while his thumb was sticking straight up. I couldn't help but stare at him with a confused look. Was that some kind of move, cause it sure didn't look like it was going to do this much from far away. But apparently from the way that Kurama was making him stop, made it seem like it would do something. Although, what the fuck could he do with a finger?! If I could use my finger to kill an enemy, then fuck that would be awesome, but I have yet to see that kind of power, so I'm going to assume that Yusuke's being an idiot.

“No, stop, it's not necessary.” Kurama said, his eyes fixed on Byakko, but this time it was because something was happening.

I quickly looked over, seeing Byakko shaking violently. However, the ground wasn't making him do it, because it was perfectly still. I looked up from inspecting the floor, and realized that Byakko was the only one shaking. I began to narrow my eyes in confusion, but I quickly caught on to what was going on. Byakko said earlier that he was full, and there wasn't any room for Kuwabara, and Kurama had said that he stopped expanding. If I was right about this, that meant that all the Spirit Energy Byakko absorbed from Kuwabara was now too much for him to hold inside of himself. And that would mean that he was now going to explode form all the pressure that was going on inside of him. At that thought, a smirk of victory fell over my lips, if Kuwabara actually thought of that plan, I was never going to be a bitch to him again, cause that's just awesome!

“Looks like it worked.” Kuwabara said weakly, a lazy smirk forming. Yep, I'm gonna stop being a bitch to him from now on, I have a lot of fucking respect for him right now, and that's not even funny, I even feel bad for earlier too. Dammit me, now I feel guilty.

“What worked.” Byakko asked, confusion seeping into his tone as he looked down at his claws that were clutching his gurgling and shaking stomach.

“It's like my sister always says, it's not good to eat too much food in one sitting.” Kuwabara replied, now getting to his knees, his smirk growing more and more at each passing second. And it only got wider as Byakko looked shocked, seeing Byakko shocked gave him the right to smirk.

“Sister, huh? That explains a lot.” Yusuke said smiling, or smirked, but I couldn't help but smirk. What? I said I would stop being a bitch, that didn't mean I couldn't joke. God, jerks.

Sudden black sparks of electricity shot into the air, around Byakko's form. His body was now showered in golden light that was almost the same color as Kuwabara's Spirit Sword, making that his pure Energy. Byakko began to shake even more violently than before, and gave out strangled shouts of pain. Beams of light shot from his form before it erupted in a swirl that resembled a tornado, and dust flew everywhere before  a loud bang was heard. I covered my ears slightly, but saw Byakko fall from the platform, his body motionless and badly beaten up. Despite being dizzy, I knew that he wouldn't survive that fall, we were up way too high for him to survive something like that, even if he was a youkai.

“And down he goes.” Yusuke said smirking, his fist clenched in front of him in victory.

“Ha! Take that you overly muscular jackass!” I shouted, pointing after his body before it disappeared into the clouds. I ignored the sweat drops and stares I got, and there were two reasons for that. 1, I didn't care, and 2, I was getting dizzy. Feeling myself starting to feel wobbly, I got to my knees and held my head. “God damn you heights!” I shouted, anime tears running down my cheeks, and another set of sweat drops went down the boy's heads. Great.

Kurama couldn't help chuckling, but stared after Byakko's retreating form. “The amount of Spirit Energy that Kuwabara transferred created a force that was more than Byakko's body could contain.” He explained, a ghost of a smirk on his lips.

“Sounds like an awful case of gas if you ask me.” Yusuke said laughing.

“That's really gross, Yusuke.” I said, trying to keep a straight face, but I easily lost that when I started to laugh with him. Until...

“Quiet Urameshi, Akira!” Kuwabara's voice suddenly shouted, making both of us stop.

Hearing the sound of my name being used made me glare at the ningen furiously. I knew this counted as being a bitch, but I didn't care, I hated that name -OK lie, I actually loved it- and I refused to be called by it again. I know that Kuwabara doesn’t know the meaning behind it, but all it does is make me think of 'him', and how close it is for the time for me to fight him to the death. Getting up from the ground, I followed the boys across the skinny walkway and onto the platform. “Kuwabara, if you know whats good for you, you better learn to call me Kira, or I'm going to hurt you.” I said in a deadly tone as we walked over to him, making all four boys sweat drop. It was sad to think that they didn't know that I was being serious, but I decided not to say anything else.

Kuwabara gave a nervous laugh, but coughed in his hand awkwardly before continuing. “I'm trying to concentrate here, OK? I have to breath in the guy's fumes, it's filled with my Spirit Energy.” He said, cupping his hands and bringing the air towards his face and taking deep breaths. Getting out of my bad mood, I gave him a disgusted face. That's just gross.

“Actually, your Spirit Energy returned automatically.” Kurama said, smirking a little at Kuwabara.

Kuwabara's cheeks tinted pink for a second, but quickly dropped his hands and tried to play it off coolly. The key word here is 'tried', which mean he didn't succeed. “Oh! Uh, you can never be too safe, right?” He asked nervously, while I just shook my head at him and sighed.

“Hey,” Yusuke spoke up, stuffing his hands in his pockets with a smirk. “I don't know why you're still on the ground, Kuwabara, I haven't even broken a sweat.”

“Very funny, Urameshi, you're taking the next one.” Kuwabara breathed heavily, but smirked too.

I started to laugh slightly, but I stopped when I noticed something. I stared at Yusuke, and saw his hands in his pockets, I turned to Kurama, his as well. Staring at Kuwabara, I saw that his pants had pockets as well. Glancing at Hiei, as not to be noticed cause I wanted to be sneaky, I saw him doing the same. Feeling like I was missing something, I began to search around my dress like outfit, patting around. I could feel all the boys staring at me, but I was fucking determined to find them, I didn't want to be the only one without pockets! But after a couple more seconds of searching, I dropped my hands from my sides and hips and sighed depressingly.

“What's wrong, Kira? Did you lose something?” Kurama asked, aw he's sweet for being concerned.

I shook my head, crossing my arms as I pouted. “I don't have any pockets, I feel left out.” I mumbled.

Another set of sweat drops.

“You just find new ways to astound us with your stupidity, Onna.”  Hiei said, staring at me like I was some kind of idiot, which he just called me, and that made me glare at him.

“Well Hiei, you just find new ways to...be an asshole!” I shouted, trying to find a good comeback, too bad that didn't happen.

Hiei rolled his eyes. “Very original.” He said, those two words just dripping with sarcasm.

I stuck my tongue out at him, while ignoring the snickers I was getting from Yusuke and Kuwabara, and Kurama was biting his thumb to keep from laughing, as not to be mean. But I was too busy glaring daggers at the Hiei to even notice them. However, the only thing that made me stop was the ringing of Yusuke's Communication Mirror, which made me jump out of surprise and made me squeak slightly. My cheeks warmed slightly out of embarrassment, but the boys just smirked before Yusuke reached in the pockets that I so wanted and pulled out the little circular device. He opened it up, and Botan's face flashed on the screen.

“Yusuke, this is Botan, do you copy?” Botan's voice asked.

“Sure.” Yusuke said in a bored tone, making me sweat drop at him. Well that was nice...

Kuwabara's head instantly snapped towards the phone, his eyes widening as he grinned widely. It was so wide that it looked too painful to be real, it was really starting to scare me. “Hey!” Kuwabara shouted. “Tell her I said 'Hi'!” Well he sure got a big burst of energy, I guess Botan has that affect on people. Or mainly him, either way I sweat dropped even more.

“How are things at Maze Castle?” Botan asked. “Please tell me you defeated three out of the four Saint Beasts by now.” Her tone was desperate, which wasn't good, but three out of the four, that was crazy!

“What?!” Are you crazy, Botan?! We've barely beaten two, these guys aren't easy!” Yusuke shouted with an irk mark, see there is my point right there.

“I understand that, Yusuke, but that's not fast enough. This city is starting to lose it's grip, the Mayor declared a riot alert, thinking these people are just insane. So far the police detained most of those taken over by the Makai, but it won't be long until the police are taken over as well.” Botan informed. Despite the serious situation, I couldn't help but wonder what the hell a 'Mayor' and 'Police' were, god damn Ningenkai and their words that I don't understand.

I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts when I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. Stiffening at the unexpected tough, I quickly turned my head to see who was touching me. It was Kuwabara, he was trying to see over Yusuke's shoulder, trying to see Botan probably. I glared at him,  still angry that he used my name before, and moved away from him making his hand drop and him turn to me with a confused expression on his face.

“Don't touch me, or I'll hurt you!” I shouted with an irk mark and anime mad face, making him sweat drop and stare at me confused. Again.

“Why? What did I do?” He asked.

“My name, duh.” I said bluntly.

“What's wrong with it? I like it,  doesn't it mean 'Ultimate source of power' or something like that?” Kuwabara asked generally confused, while I almost face palmed myself, why did he care what it meant?!

“Don't care, I just hate it so don't ever call me it again.” I said, and with that I walked away from the little group.

I was now at the center of the platform, a good distance away from my team. I was looking up at the sky, watching the dark gray and black clouds roll by rapidly, lightning flashes streaking the sky. But I wasn’t paying attention, I was too busy thinking about other things than the weather or the Saint Beasts. The night from so many years ago kept flashing before my eyes, while I tried to make them go away, I didn't want to remember right now. However, when I saw Kuwabara being chocked, I did just that. I know I shouldn't blame Kuwabara, but I was frightened of the thought of being up against 'him'. I knew I was going to die if I did, and I didn't want to be reminded of that. And after a few seconds of attempting to stop the images from replaying, I let out a silent and defeated sigh. Letting the painful memory take me in it's cold clutches.

~*~*~*Flashback*~*~*~

Bated breath fell through my lips as I ran down the long, dark hallway of my home. My 'heart' was pounding against my ribs, and pumped loudly in my ears, the only thing that could silence my heavy breathing. Why was I running? I heard a scream coming from the other side of my house, it sounding awfully like my mother. Pretty reasonable right? Anybody would come running if they heard one of their loved ones screaming. However I was the only one running out to check if she was fine. Where was my father and brother? It was deathly silent after the scream, making it seem as if there was no-one in the house at all, just me. Me alone with a potential killer in my house, where no-one could hear me scream. That thought made me panic even more than I already was, and I sped up my pace, seeing my parents room coming into view.

I slowed down, and put my hands on my knees to gather the air back into my lungs. But as I did, another blood curdling scream and a sickening thud came from their room, making me freeze up almost instantly, my breath getting caught in my throat. My eyes darted over to their door,  another deadly silence filling the air. I wasn't sure what to do, my mind was going blank. Should I open it and see if they were all right and not dead, or if I should run to get some help? I didn't know and tears started to swell up in my eyes, feeling scared and weak, where was my father and brother?! Quickly shaking my head, trying to rid myself of my fear, I slowly straightened up into a standing position. Swallowing thickly, I took cautious and quiet steps, and grabbed the edge of the door. Sliding it open just enough to peak in, light filled in through the crack. Taking in a deep breath I closed my left eye and looked through.

I took everything I had to keep from throwing up and screaming. Blood scattered across the walls, dripping onto the wooden floors, like rain wood on a window. The bed was destroyed, all the covers and pillows scattered and ripped up. The same could be said for the furniture in the room, the wood split and cracked leaving sharp pointed edges. But what caught the most of my attention was the body that laid crumpled up in the far corner of the room. Long, straight black hair spilled onto the floor, blood mixing into the long locks. Bright, ruby red eyes stared blankly at the door, at me, so wide and filled with fear. My mother was paler than I have ever seen her, blood clearly noticeable on her drained cheeks and running down her neck. Her neck, the main part of her body that was the bloodiest, had a huge gash stretching across it,letting all the crimson liquid fall onto the floor and puddle around her.

I felt sick to my stomach, but willed myself to keep the bile from flying up my throat. Tearing my eyes away from her body, I saw a movement come from my right and saw the two people I have been looking for. My father and brother. However, I couldn't smile when I saw them, my eyes had widened again, but this time in disbelief. Kane, my brother, held a sword cover in blood at my father neck, his face devoid of every emotion. Yet his eyes showed blood lust, and in that moment I knew my brother had killed my mother, and my father was next. Tears fell down my cheeks, this person in front of me was not my brother. The Kane I knew was sweet and kind to everyone who knew him, this couldn't be him! Yet, I let my eyes scan over the room quickly, the evidence didn't lie. I quickly looked back, and bit back sobs, thinking the only thing my mind would let me. Why?

“Kane...” My father growled, glaring at my brother with a deadly hate I could never picture him using. “Why the hell are you doing this?!” The air was again quiet, Kane just staring blankly at him. “Answer me!” My father snapped.

At first Kane's expression stayed blank, but a sadistic smile began to take form on his lips. “Because I can.” Was his only answer, and blood splattered.

Despite myself, I let out a scream of horror as I saw the sword plunge into my father's neck, a spray of blood showering over Kane and the walls. I felt sick again, my vision becoming fuzzy, but I willed myself to stay awake. I needed to get away, especially now that Kane knew where I was. And when I saw his cold eyes look into mine, I took off back down the hall, as fast as my short legs could take me. I was running on fear and adrenaline, but I knew even with both of those I couldn't out run my brother. He could take down both my mother and father, and they were both A class youkai, doing something like that wasn't easy, yet my brother didn't even break a sweat. Pushing those negative thoughts out of my head, I pumped my legs harder as my ears picked up the sounds of footsteps.

However, just as I was about to grabbed the doorknob, a hand wrapped itself tightly around my neck. My air was instantly cut off, and the pain soon followed as my neck felt like it was on fire. As I tried to suck in air, my eyes once again met my brother's, glinting with blood lust once again. The tears ran faster down my cheeks, staring into his eyes gave me enough information to know I wasn't going to live. But I wouldn't die without at least trying. Bringing my shaking hands up to his I began to claw wildly, and kick my legs back and forth, in hopes that I might hit him. All this was doing was making me tired, and once I began to feel light headed, my brother let me go. I fell like a rag-doll, landing in a gasping heap on the floor. Glaring at me hatefully, my brother began to speak, his cold voice making me shiver uncontrollably.

“I won't kill you Akira, but don't think I am doing this out of love.” Kane stated, his voice rough and emotionless. It was frightening.

“Then why?” My voice rasped out, cracking slightly.

“As you know, our mother was the last of the full blooded Darkness youkai, and you know that we are half Darkness youkai as well. They were a proud race before they became extinct, and I want to carry on that pride, and so must you." He started, his eyes narrowing on my form. "When you get strong enough, I want you to fight me to prove who deserves the right to be called the last Darkness youkai. And yes, little Akira, we will fight to the death and I will kill you without any hesitation. Keep that in mind.” He said, the same sadistic smirk forming.

His smirk grew when he saw the fear forming in my eyes. My heart was still pounding, thinking ahead to the day where I would have to fight him. As I stared at him with wide, tear filled eyes, I knew I wasn't going to win, no matter how hard I tried. Then, as if he wasn't there to begin with, Kane disappeared, leaving me half-conscious in the middle of the hallway. My parents still dead in their bedrooms, waiting for me to bury them.

~*~*~*End Flashback*~*~*~

Tears sat on the edges of my eyes, but the sudden shaking pulled me out of my hellish nightmare. My eyes snapped back into focus, and I instantly looked for the boys. If they fucking left me, then so help me I was going to kick all their asses! However, when I saw them that thought was forgotten and I ran over to them, confused and slightly scared. I hated not knowing what the hell was happening, so it was understandable, or so I thought. And once I reached them, I saw they were just as confused as I was, and I wondered how long I was thinking. But now wasn't the time to be thinking that, and I shook my head of those thoughts.

Turning to Yusuke, I asked seriously. “What's going on?”

Yusuke looked down at me, and gave me a strange look that said 'werne't you listening at all?'. “I don't know, but it's not good, that's for sure.” He answered, but the look still remained on his face.

I looked away, mumbling. “Sorry, I was a little distracted, I wasn't paying attention.”

Yusuke opened his mouth to say something, but the shaking was getting worse, and Kuwabara's voice shouted through the air, making us look at the red haired ningen teenager. “Hurry, it's collapsing!” And I'll tell you that we didn't waste any time moving, cause I was not going to be standing on a platform that was millions of miles up in the air, thank you very much.

I quickly took off running with the boys, and we all spotted a ledge that was sticking out of the castle. It was as if a golden light was shining on it, especially when I heard the floor breaking behind me, and when I looked, it was worse than it sounded. “Ah! Fuck!” I shouted, my eyes wide, and I quickly jumped over the edge of the platform, landing hard against the stone of the ledge. However, I didn't care, I was just happy to get away from that thing. Did I mention that I hated heights?

But I jumped when I heard a familiar voice laugh from behind me, and I looked to see there was a long dark hallway. “So ningen, you've proven to be a worthy pray.” Byakko's voice spoke, making my eyes widen in shock and surprise. He was still alive?!

“Hey aren’t you dead yet?” Kuwabara asked, although not appearing to be shocked at all by this sudden twist of events.

“I'm very much alive, now I've lured you near my lair, my Room of Hell.” Byakko laughed again. Room of Hell? The fuck?

“What if we say no?” Kurama spoke up, his eyes narrowing at the darkness of the hallway, trying to find the tiger youkai. I quickly decided to pay attention and act seriously, if Byakko wasn't dead yet, that meant he was really strong. That wasn't good.

“You don't want to say no.” Byakko said, still laughing, which was getting rather annoying if you ask me.

“Just lead the way Byakko, I'll do whatever you want.” Kuwabara said, a smirk in his voice. I just stared at him like he was an idiot, but quickly remembered who I was thinking about and decided not t say anything at all because that would be stupid.

Soon we were walking into the dark hallway, which reminded me way too much of my past for my liking. I could feel the familiar...feeling of goosebumps making their way up my arm, making me shiver slightly. And it wasn't helping that there was those stupid god damned statues that scared the shit out of me before. But I kept my mind on the current situation, and that was enough to get me through walking down these hallways. And soon we found ourselves going down stairs, a red light glowing at the end of the downward spiraling stairs. As we got closer, I could feel the heat radiating from the room, making me grimace. Great.

"Oh great, now we're walking into a pre-heated oven." Yusuke said sarcastically.

"Who cares, as long as it leads to Byakko." Kuwabara said, his tone bored and not seeming to care, I think he was being to cocky, and that was enough to make me get an irk mark and punch him over the head.

“I care you baka! I hate the heat!” I shouted, making him cower away from me.

“Yeah, so why don't you go first?” Yusuke asked, glaring at Kuwabara a long with me, making Kuwabara laugh nervously at the way he was being treated.

Kurama, on the other hand, just sighed and said. “Lets go.”

We all nodded and continued to walk down the stairs until we came to the opening. I cringed slightly at the light, but when I saw what was inside, it made me want to beat my head up against the walls of the cave. There was a huge ass lava bit in the fucking cave area! There were also little platforms of land, like the one we were on before, sticking out of said lava. It was fucking hot in here, and the lava's heat was not helping. Man it really was hot as Hell, stupid fucking names that just have to match the places! Why couldn't Byakko be a snow tiger or something?! I hate the fucking heat!

“Oh give me a break! I guess room of hell wasn't just a clever name." Yusuke said slightly shocked, although it had an undertone that said he was annoyed. Like me.

“No shit, this really sucks.” I whined slightly, a groan of displeasure escaping my lips.

“That's...” Yusuke spoke up, pointing downwards, gulping at the red bubbling substance that would kill anyone who touch it. Ooh, that was a very painful and bad mental picture, I do not want to think about that again thank you.

“...Lava.” Kuwabara finished, ripping off some of his shirt, letting it fall towards the lava. However, it burned up before it even hit it, making me gulp and cringe in pain again. I hate this. “We better not fall into that guys.” Kuwabara said, while I just stared at him with a 'no duh!' face.

“A fine view, isn't it?” A familiar voice asked from across the cave. We all looked over the lake of lava, seeing the one and only Byakko standing on a platform. "This is my private chamber, I come here to....play." Byakko said the last word with a sadistic smirk, I shuttered at what he considered to be playing.  God I hate theses stupid mental pictures, they're terrible! Don't even try to think of them, it burns!

“No way!” Kuwabara shouted, a look of shock on his face, oh now he's shocked! “He's back to normal!” Yet again, I want to smack my head against the wall, Kuwabara can be so stupid sometimes.

“Monster, you piss me off!” Yusuke shouted as well, glaring at the tiger youkai.

“As you already discovered, this room is filled with Lava that will melt anything it touches. So, does anyone have the courage to come and challenge me?” Byakko asked, smirking sadistically at us.

“You bet I do circus freak! You think you got so much power?!” Yusuke growled angrily, clenching his fist, ready to beat the shit out of the tiger, which I was all for, except I kind of wanted to do it. However, Kuwabara stopped him by holding out his arm.

“Hey, leave it to me Urameshi.” Kuwabara said, a smirk on his face. Although, it didn't last long at all, because after the first two steps, his suddenly gasped and fell to his knees. He was breathing heavily. We all, but Hiei, rushed to his side, giving him worried looks.

“Kuwabara, you may have gotten some of your Spirit Energy back, however your body is too damaged to fight.” Kurama said, after looking at him for a second, and I couldn't help but smirk at that.

“Looks like I'm taking your place, Kuwabara. I was getting kind of bored watching you guys fight, I think I can take him, since the guy has been pissing me off and I need to vent a little.” I said looking at the white tiger, who was still staring at us sadistically, which only made me want to fight him even more.

“No! I can still fight!” Kuwabara shouted, trying to get up, but I shot him a look.

“I said I'm taking your place!” I shouted with an irk mark, which made him sit immediately back down on the spot he was sitting on before.

“Kira?” Yusuke asked. “You sure you wanna fight him?”

“Yeah, I'll be fine.” I nodded with a determined look on my face, but when I heard the dark laughter of Byakko, it dropped. We all looked and saw Byakko staring at me with an amused expression. Why the fuck is he laughing at me?!

“So, it looks like I'm fighting the famous Akira.” He said, which made me glare at him.

“It's Kira! Remember that when I kick your fucking ass you god damned cat!” I snapped, my hand twitching toward my Katana. God I can't wait until I kill this bastard!
