~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~
Hearing Byakko just laugh at me again, I slid out my Katana a little too roughly, my fist clenching the sheath tightly. I jumped down onto one of the little platforms sticking out of the lake of lava below, and got into a fighting stance, just waiting for him to attack first. However, once my wait set down on the rock it began to crumble underneath me. I let out a gasp, feeling the hot air starting to go past me, but my reflexes were on my side this time, and let me grab onto the more stable part of the small platform. I let out a sigh of relief, pulling myself up and once I was fully on I test the rest of the rock before I stood up fully once again. I felt a rush of heat flood to my cheeks, and I instantly felt stupid, what a way to start my first fight. That was rather embarrassing.
“Kira!” I heard Yusuke shout from behind me. “You OK?” He asked.
I turned around, and gave a nervous smile, but nodded. “Fine! I almost fall off things all the time, nothing I can't handle!” I shouted back, and I saw all of them sweat drop. What? It was true!
“Are we going to fight, or are you going to just stand there?” Byakko asked, a smirk in his voice.
Turning back to him, I grabbed my Katana again, and glared heatedly at the cat. “Oh, shut up you blue freak, or do you want me to kill you right now? Cause that's not a problem with me at all.” I hissed, getting into a fighting stance.
Byakko laughed. “You seem very confident for a girl who is going to die.”
“Sorry, I don't think I'll be dieing anytime soon, I have something else to take care of before I do that.” I answered back, a smirk growing on my lips. Maybe I was being cocky, but this guy has been pissing me off for at least three fucking chapters, he deserves to die!
“We'll see about that.” Byakko smirked back.
Byakko's hand went to his neck, as he opened his mouth widely. Green light was forming in his chops, and black electricity was crackling as the light began to form. I narrowed my eyes at him, wondering what the fuck he was trying to do. But watched carefully as the green light formed into a ball of Energy. I backed up slightly, as if that would bring greater distance between me and the giant, green energy ball. However, I couldn't help but smirk at how Byakko looked. He looked just like a cat would if it was going to cough up a hair ball, just minus the claws going to it's throat.
“Aw, is the wittle kitty coughing up a hair ball?” I asked in a baby voice, but kept the smirk on my lips.
“What is that?” Yusuke asked wide eyed, seeing the Energy ball stop growing. The black electricity was practically spitting everywhere, it moving faster now as there was more energy coursing through it.
“Something power.” Kurama supplied as he studied it, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
“Very.” Hiei added, smirking. “So, it doesn't exist.”
I heard their little conversation, thanks to youkai hearing naturally, and focused my sites on the green ball still in Byakko's mouth. My eyes widened and I gasped, as if something hit me in the gut. That thing was strong, just like Kurama and Hiei had said. Me being physically weak doesn't help the fact that that thing could kill me with one hit. I was beginning to regret taking this fight, but I sure as hell was going to pull my weight around here on this time. So calming down my slightly rushed breathing, I swallowed thickly and held my Katana tightly. But I would be lying if I said that wasn't scared at all, just one little mistake from me could cause that thing to fly into me, then bye-bye me. However, I kept my cool when I saw Byakko launch the green ball at me, and I forced out a smirk.
“Is that all you got? I can cut that thing it half.” I 'laughed', getting ready to bring my Katana forward. *Please let my lie be true!* I shouted in my head, feeling my confidence begin to fade as the ball of energy drew closer to me.
“No!” Kurama suddenly shouted. “You mustn't touch it! Get away!”
My eyes flickered behind me, seeing the panic on Kurama's face was enough to make me decide to take his word for it. I wasted no time jumping out of the way, landing on the platform to my left. I turned back around quickly, wanting to see what was so bad about the Energy ball besides it being insanely strong. I watched as the green ball hit the platform I had just occupied not that long ago, and saw it turn to nothing but ash not even a millisecond after it came into contact with the hard, rocky surface. I gulped, making myself watch a mental image of me in stead of that platform. I cringed at the thought of how painful that would be, but seeing how fast that went, I would've been dead before I could even begin to feel it. I shivered, that was way too close for comfort if you ask me.
Turning to Byakko again, I glaring at him. “Geez! What the fuck do you eat?! Acid?!” I growled out angrily.
“Do you like it?” I call it my Tiger Scream, anything it touches turns into a pile of ashes.” Byakko explained, a smirk on his chops once again.
“No, not really.” I snapped.
"For years I've heard of a fighter who could destroy molecular bonds with the vibration of his voice, I never thought I'd meet him." Hiei said smirking, his blood red eyes staring intently at the fight before him. Great, now Hiei is going to root for Byakko now, just what I need...
“I was wondering,” Yusuke spoke up, looking at Kurama with a thoughtful gaze. “If Kuwabara was fighting, would he have been able to black that attack with his Spirit Sword?” He asked, and that question got my attention. What if Kuwabara had been fighting, would he have a better chance than me? If he did, than that would just really blow my confidence down to zero.
“No,” Kurama shook his head. “Kuwabara's sword would've caused a chain-reaction that would've destroyed his entire spirit.” He explained, while Kuwabara gulped nervously.
I smirked happily, all right good. “See, Kuwabara? Isn't it a good thing that I took this fight? I just saved you from a very painful death.” I said looking back at the boys, my smirk only getting wider as Kuwabara huffed and looked away, his arms crossed over his chest. “All right, enough fooling around. Let's go Byakko, I don't have all day.” I said turning to the tiger once again, now feeling completely better from this conversation.
“The only thing you can do is run, Akira.” Byakko said smirking, he hadn't moved through this whole match, and he was standing there watching the show. God, I hate him
My smirk dropped instantly when I heard my name being used once again. My eyes narrowed into a furious glare, and I let a growl escape my throat. My fingers wrapped around the purple threat around the hilt of my Katana, the blade shining dangerous as it wished for blood. Byakko's blood. However, as I kept my grip tight against the sheath, I let the blade slide back into it's sheath. I had no use for it anyway. I made myself calm down. I couldn't afford to let myself lose my cool, just jumping in blinding would be stupid. I let my eyes travel around the area, there were many platforms that would let me get to him quickly. But the Tiger Scream of his would be a problem, if he keeps shooting that thing at me, I won't get anywhere close to him. I let out a frustrated sigh, this was going to be a problem. I wasn't even sure the powers that I have mastered would be any use right now. Especially when Byakko can absorb energy, and most of my attacks required most of my Spirit Energy. Dammit, this fight sucks.
Deciding to just wing it, I began to jump towards the platforms in front of me. However, I kept a look out for more of those Tiger Screams, and it was a good thing I did too, seeing as how more kept coming the more I jumped. Soon, the platforms were decreasing rapidly, and I now had only four more platforms to jump to, well three if you don't include the one I'm standing on. All the other ones had been destroyed by Byakko's Tiger Scream. From how all of them were destroyed and how none of the Tiger Scream really came close to me at all. Suddenly, my eyes widened at the realization. However, I kept that look to myself, I didn't want to let Byakko know that I had caught on to something.
*He's been hitting the platforms deliberately! I wasn't his target at all, he was just trying to cut me off from everything else so he could leave me stranded! Dammit, that was a good strategy!* I thought annoyed, but my face remained neutral on the outside. *All right Byakko, if you wanna play this game, then fine.* I looked to the platform and silently prayed that this would end in my favor.
I quickly jumped when I heard the familiar crackle of the Tiger Scream, and landed on the platform in front of me. I heard the sound of disintegration happen behind me, and now I was only left with two more platforms, and I swallowed thickly. I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down, not wanting to make anymore mistakes, seeing as how I just made a really big one. I was sitting in Byakko's claws, I just had to think of a way to get out of them before he actually kills me. There were two ways to do that too, hit me with a Tiger Scream or make me fall into the lake of lava, both ways would be equally painful and I wanted neither. But thanks to my silent fear, my mind was drawing a blank and I couldn't think of anything! This wasn't good at all.
“Had enough?” Byakko asked, raising an eyebrow as he smirked at me.
When I didn't answer, still having my eyes closed, he let out a sadistic smile. I was making this too easy for him, he never had someone standing in front of him close their eyes, leaving themselves open for an attack. Not wanting to finish me off when I didn't know what was coming, he conjured up three sharp needles of Spirit Energy, holding them in-between his claws. He wanted to torture me a little before he killed me, what would be the fun in ending it quickly? There wasn't, and he couldn't wait to hear my screams of pain, especially when I was so cocky in the beginning. He loved seeing youkai and people alike face their demise after talking to big, it always made him chuckle at their ignorance. With that thought in his mind, he let the needles fly at me with incredible speed, his smirk growing wider in anticipation.
Hearing the sudden change in the wind, my eyes snapped open, bringing me out of my blank thoughts. I saw the needles so close to me, I couldn't dodge, so I did the only thing I could do. I rose my arms to cover my face, not wanting any needles of Energy pierce me in the eye or forehead. A second after that, I felt the stinging pain enter my body. Warm liquid fell from my right side, my right arm and left shoulder, soaking my clothing instantly. Despite the pain, I couldn't help but think how gross that felt. I never liked the feeling of my blood on my skin, and making my clothing stick to it. It felt very gross, but I sucked it up and let my arms fall to my side again. I glared at Byakko, hating how I distracted myself and left myself open for him to attack. I had to pay more attention.
“Kira!” Yusuke shouted from far away, making me look over my shoulder at him. “Are you OK? I can come in and take over!” He said, his eyes showing concern. Thank you youkai eyesight.
“No! I can handle this!” I shouted back, my eyes narrowing into a serious gaze. “I don't want anyone helping me! I want to see how strong I am, if I can beat him, I know I'm close to my goal. Just trust me, I can do this!” I wasn't going to let them stop this match, even if I wanted them to, I couldn't afford to lose, I needed to know. “Anyway, that attack wasn't that bad, it felt more like three bee stings than needles. I can still fight, don't worry about me.” I said, giving him a reassuring smile.
“I'm actually a little surprised,” Byakko said, my head turning to him again. “I didn't know the 'Red-Eyed Ghost' was a fighter. From what I've heard, you've never killed anyone, not even in your robberies. If that's true, how can you possibly hope to defeat me?” Byakko asked, using the alias people put upon me, seeing how no-one could ever get any information on me. (A/N: I know that's Xerxes Break's alias, I just like it, also I don't own Pandora Hearts :D)
I couldn't help but smirk when I heard my alias, I always loved it, but I quickly let the smirk drop and I glared at him again. “Those people didn't deserve to die, that's why I've never killed, but I'll be glad to make you my first victim.” I said, my voice cold.
“You think you can kill me now?” Byakko laughed. “Look around you, you're completely insnared!” He gestured around himself.
I looked around as well, and despite already knowing that I was completely cut off, I couldn't help but let my eyes widen. There was absolutely nothing behind me except for the small platforms that were in front of the boys, but I couldn't reach them. They were way too far away for me to jump to, I was worse off than I thought. Turning back around, my teeth clenched tightly out of annoyance, I keep making mistakes! How can I expect to win against Kane if I act like this in our fight?! He'll kill me before I can even blink, or even think about blinking! He won't hesitate like he said before, and seeing how things were going for me now, I wasn’t even close to my goal at all. My fingers curled into my palm, and I could feel my nails dig into my flesh, I didn't know what to do!
“Dammit.” I hissed out under my breath.
“When you were running from my blasts, I made sure to cut y off form the other platforms. Now you can only have two choices, come over here and try to kill me, or stay over there, and burn up in the lava.” Byakko said, the sadistic look growing in his eyes, making them light up.
*I've got no choice.* I thought to myself, and turned my narrow gaze to the platform in front of me. If I was going to die, then at least I was going to die while fighting.
I took a step forward, preparing to kick off the ground and land on the platform, however before I had a chance, a Tiger Scream burned it to nothing but ash. On impulse, my foot came back, and I backed up a bit. I quickly looked at Byakko, glaring as he threw his head back and let out a howl of laughter. I growled angrily, I can't believe I was making a fool out of myself in front of him and my team! Today was not going well for me, I have to think of something before I actually do die!
“Sorry, the little ones are easy to over look.” Byakko said sarcastically.
“That's fine, I'll still kill you.” I replied, my glare narrowing even further into a furious gaze. Having him silently laugh at me was even worse than him actually do it out loud.
“You're trapped, just accept it. It'll make the last moments much easier.” Byakko said, smirking.
“Kira...” Yusuke and Kuwabara mumbled worriedly, watching as they saw me standing helplessly in front of Byakko. They hated watching this, and Kuwabara understood how Yusuke and I felt when we had to watch him fight against Byakko. He didn't like it one bit.
“Can you reach her, Hiei?” Kurama asked, turning to the fire youkai next to him.
Hiei glanced at him. “If need be.”
My ears twitched when I heard them talking about me. I quickly turned around and glared, I wasn't mad at Kurama for being concerned about me, I was mad because I did NOT want Hiei to have to save me, that would only make him think I couldn't do anything even more. He would never let me live it down, and that would be fucking annoying and it would piss me right the fuck off!
“I told you guys not to help me!” I shouted, causing them all to look at me surprised, except Hiei of course. “Don't think I don't know what you four are whispering about! I don't want any help, I can do this, now trust me!” My glare was still there, showing them that I was serious.
“I don't understand her, doesn't she realize she's about to die?” Yusuke asked confused.
“Yeah, Byakko isn't easy.” Kuwabara added.
“Maybe she's devising an attack.” Kurama suggested, trying to stick up for me. I was touched by that, seeing how everyone else was being really negative, and weren't trusting me like I said.
“Perhaps she's a fool.” Hiei couldn't help but say.
My right eye twitched, and an irk mark appeared on my temple. “Hiei, once I kill him, you're next you little troll!” I shouted, my hand twitching towards my Katana. Hiei glared right back at me, and I bet from the intensity of our stares, there was electricity sparking dangerously. Also because the boys were sweat dropping at our behavior. Even in a fight like this we couldn't help but piss each other off. However, I broke our glaring contest and I turned back to Byakko. “Come on, lets do this, I'm not dieing without a fight.” I said, getting ready to jump towards him, I had an idea, I just hope it will work.
“You baka, they were your last chance to survive.” Byakko laughed before he placed his hands around his neck, charging up another Tiger Scream.
I took a long deep breath, my 'heart' racing in my chest. This was the moment of truth, I had one more shot at this or I'm really going to die. I focused at the lava below, seeing a little piece of rock that stuck out of the lake. It was from the last platform he turned to ash. It was small, but if I can use my Lightning Strike and hit it, I might have a chance to win this. I just needed to make sure that Byakko thought I was dead and he lowers his guard, then I can hit him. I just hope it works. Hearing the sound of the Tiger Scream coming towards me, I silently prayed that I would make it, and I jumped off the edge. Feeling the rush of wind coming from below me, thank god I'm wearing shorts, I almost closed my eyes, my fear of heights rearing it's ugly head once again.
“She's jumping!” Kurama shouted, his eyes widening.
“Kira!” Yusuke shouted, taking a step forward. His eyes were as wide as Kurama, and Kuwabara was right behind him. Hiei, his eyes widened a fraction, either wondering what the hell I was doing, or he was thinking I was an idiot for missing the platform.
I ignored the shouting thought, and held out my left hand, trying to keep my concentration as I tried to aim. I could feel the rush of Spirit Energy start to gather in my hand, small little purple electric sparks flying around my hand, but Byakko never noticed. *Please work! Please work! Please work!* I shouted in my head over and over, my fear rising in me was increasing, and I was so close to having a panic attack that it wasn't funny.
“She didn't make it!” Kurama gasped in shock.
Byakko began to laugh, it boarding on the edge of sane and insane. His smirk on his chops growing wider as I drew closer to the boiling lava below. “I lied, you could never have reached me!” I would've smirked and thought that he wouldn't be laughing now, but I wasn't too sure if I was going to make it.
Feeling the electricity and my Spirit Energy growing stronger, I aimed and closed my eyes as I whispered. “Lightning Strike.” Scared that if I said it louder, than I would miss.
The surge of Energy left my hand, and I heard the lightning connect with the small piece of rock, and I was propelled up into the air. Opening my eyes quickly, them widening with shock that I actually hit the rock instead of missing and falling into the lava. I felt myself smirk, and all the confidence from the beginning of the fight came back instantly. My smirk grew eviller, something that could rival Byakko's and I started to laugh slightly. Time to show Byakko that I wasn’t all talk, when I actually was, and kill the bastard for laughing at me like he did! Next thing I knew, I was high above Byakko's head, and I brought back my right leg.
“Miss me?!” I shouted before letting my right leg connect with Byakko's jaw, sending him to fly off the platform, and me to follow. My eyes widened, and I silently cursed to myself as I realized that I didn't think that far ahead. “Ah, dammit!” I shouted, and I fell over the side of the platform with Byakko, while his body disappeared beneath the boiling lava.
“Kira!” Yusuke, Kurama and Kuwabara shouted when they heard nothing except the sound of a body burning by the heat of the lava.
Silence passed, and all three were staring wide at what they had just seen. They weren't sure if they wanted to believe it, or if it had really just happened. It all happened to fast for them to comprehend. But once the shock set in, their facial expressions changed rapidly. Yusuke's face twisted into anger and grief, while Kuwabara had tears sitting at the edge of his eyes. Kurama, his was still shocked, but his eyes showed sadness. Hiei, his expression wasn't readable, seeing as how it was Hiei after all.
Suddenly the silence was broken when Yusuke fell to his knees, letting his fist slam against the cave floor loudly. “This is so stupid! We're suppose to be protecting the world, so whose protecting us?!” He shouted angrily, his eyes closed tightly.
“Um!” Came my voice, making all of the boys look at the platform quickly. “Can you stop punching the damn wall, and help me?! That would be really appreciated right now!” I shouted, hanging from the platform by my right hand. I was kicking my legs, hoping that would bring me up, but that only made me tired. And I looked down at the lava below and shivered, I really wanted to get down now! “Come on, I can't hold onto this forever you know!”
I heard the sound of happy laughter, and four pairs of feet patting against the platforms. Soon I saw Yusuke's face looking over the edge, and smiling widely at me. I couldn't help but smile back, happy from killing Byakko, and that I was going to be saved. He gave me his hand, while I gladly took a hold of it with my other hand. Lifting me up, I crawled onto the platform and away from the edge, shooting it a dirty look. Ever since I have been in this fucking castle, I've done nothing but almost fall over edges. I swear this place is trying to kill me, and I'll be damned if I let it! But at least I killed Byakko, that should at least make me a bit happy. Although I was still a bit angry at how hard it was, and how long it took. At least he's burning, the damn bastard.
“You had us worried, Kira.” Yusuke said, looking down at me. “We thought you bit the dust.”
I looked up at him, and shakily got my feet, still a bit dizzy from the height and from how much Spirit Energy I used in one shot. “Well I told you guys and Byakko before, I'm not dieing yet. I'm just happy that I figured out his plan, and that my aim was as good as it was, or I really would've died.” I said, giving a lazy smile, I really took a lot out of me.
“When did you figure it out?” Kurama asked, genuinely curious.
“It was when I had only three more platforms left in front of me. I realized he was trying to corner me and only make be able to go to his platform when he destroyed the others. To be completely honest, I had no idea how I was going to win, I just winged it and hoped that I would make it. Guess I lucked out.” I said laughing slightly while the boys, except Hiei, smiled at me.
“Maybe we should let you kill the other Beats like this, too.” Hiei said, smirking down at me. Damn him for being taller than me.
I glared at him, and clenched my fist. “I'm going to kill you, you little bastard!” I started to run at him, but a wave of dizziness came and I stopped, holding my head. “OK, maybe not right now, but I will when I get my Spirit Energy back, then you'll be sorry.” I said the last part, giving him a dirty look, while he just rolled his eyes at me.
“All right, come on, we still have two more Saint Beasts to kill.” Yusuke said smirking, looking at the door that was on the other cave wall.
The boys and I nodded before following him off the platforms, while Kurama had to help, just to make sure I did't fall into the lava. And once we made it across the lake of lava, we came to the door in the cave wall. It was as red as fire, and when we opened it, we were faced with more stairs to climb. We quickly climbed them, thinking the faster we get there, the faster we kill the Saint Beasts, and I was more than happy to do that. Once this mission was done, I was going to sleep and I was going to relax. Minuets passed and we found ourselves facing a iron gray door.
*Finally* I thought with a roll of my eyes.
Yusuke opened the door, and we all stepped into the room. However, what we saw in there wasn't what we were expecting at all. Inside, the room was circular, and there were fifteen doors on the wall. We all went wide eyed, besides Hiei that is, and stared at the room with shocked expressions. Knowing that there were fifteen doors, that mean that there was only one right one! How the hell we were suppose to know which one was going to be the right one?! God I hate this fucking castle, once this mission is over, I swear I am going to fucking blow the whole thing up. It is seriously piss me right the fuck off!
“Oh give me a break!” Yusuke and I shouted annoyed, irk marks appearing.
“It appears we have found a maze in Maze Castle.” Hiei said sarcastically, apparently not to happy with the fact that we were stuck.
“Well that makes sense.” Kuwabara said, also a bit ticked.
I couldn't help but groan at this. “That's fucking stupid, why the hell would they put fifteen god damn doors here instead of just trying to kill us?!” I asked with an annoyed look on my face, crossing my arms over my chest.
“We must beware, it's something of a legend.” Kurama said, his tone holding a warning, and we all looked at him. “In the beginning before the Barrier Wall was wrapped around the city, hundreds of bounty hunters would come in search of the Beasts. None succeeded. But the Beasts never left their tower, letting many of the hunters to forfeit their lives to the maze. There are fifteen doors, all but one leads to a dead end. There are no second attempts, unavoidable traps lay in the incorrect passages. So you see, a poor choice seals our fate.” He finished, while I just gulped a the story, picturing the kind of traps that would probably kill us. Great.
Yusuke instantly turned to Kuwabara, narrowing his eyes seriously at him. “OK, 'Mister Sensitive', this one is all yours.” He said.
“What?!” I shouted, looking at Yusuke like he was an idiot. Why would he put Kuwabara in charge?!
Kuwabara stared at the doors, ignoring my shout of surprise. We all stared at him as he took several long seconds, and that was only making my 'heart' pound even harder against my chest, I didn't want to die after I just killed Byakko, thank you. “The second door on the left.” Kuwabara said, making me snap out of my fear induced thoughts.
“All right, you heard the man, let go.” Yusuke said, putting all of his faith in Kuwabara. Hiei and I, not so much.
“How do we know he's not making a mistake?” Hiei asked, narrowing his eyes at the giant ningen.
“Even if I hate to admit it, I have to agree with Hiei on this.” I added, while receiving a glare from said person, while I just returned it. He didn't scare me.
"I'm sorry shorty, maybe it's not your thing, but you have to trust me on this one. I know, there's something big behind that door, something scary." Kuwabara said, walking towards the door he picked out and opened it. Inside the light shone, illuminating some of the inside. There was a little mouse staring at us with black eyes, flinching back at the light. Aw. However Kuwabara didn't think it was so cute, like I had actually expected him to. “Ah! I hate mice!” He shouted, falling backwards as the mouse ran away at the sound of the shouting.
“Gee, Kuwabara, that speech of yours was getting to dramatic.” Yusuke said, a huge smile forming on his lips, while I sweat dropped. What guy hates mice?
“Shut up, Urameshi!” Kuwabara shouted, while we just walked inside, making him run after us.
Minutes passed as we walked down the long dark hallway, the only light there was were the occasional flashes of lightning that happened to flash when we came to a window. However, we didn't have to walk that long. Ahead of us we saw a double door, and we quickly sped up our walking, not wanting to make this take longer than it already had. Once we got close enough we saw the door fully, it was blue and outlined in gold. Two blue statues of dragons were there, one on each side of the double doors. Lightning flashed slightly, and a loud rumble came, trying to make the atmosphere more dramatic than it already was.
“Are we suppose to be scared?” Hiei asked with a glare.
“Perhaps, that is the mark of the Blue Dragon, and judging by the odor, I would say the Beast is inside.” Kurama said, a glare as well in his eyes.
“Yeah, and he doesn't feel very nice.” Kuwabara said, while I sent him a look.
“Well he's not suppose to feel nice and offer you cookies and tea, Kuwabara.” I said rather bluntly, giving him a 'baka' look. While he just gave me a nervous laugh, realizing that what he had said wasn't very smart.
Before I could say anything else, the sound of creaking made me jump. I quickly turned back towards the door, my hand already on the sheath of my Katana. However, I stopped myself from sliding it out when I saw that the door just opened by itself. I still kept my hand close to it though, just to make sure that the Beast didn't suddenly come out of no where. We all stood there for a second, just staring at the door with suspicious gazes before we took cautious steps inside. When we did, we were met with a room filled with fog, and the temperature was completely different from Byakko's Room of Hell, it was fucking cold! I hated the cold, I like the warmth better. I know I said before that I hated the heat, but I hate the heat when it's over 150 degrees, thank you.
“This fog is alive.” Kurama stated, letting his eyes travel along the room, trying to find the Beast. Seeing as how he wasn't there, like we had expected him to be. “It must be some form of Spirit Energy coming from our Beast's body.” He explained.
“Cute.” I said sarcastically, but looked around for the Saint Beast as well.
“You have done very well to come this far.” A very monotonous voice spoke up, making all of us look around with narrowed eyes. “But I will no longer allow you to disgrace my Master.” The sound of the voice was coming in front of us, but we saw nothing there when we looked.
“Where's that voice coming from?” Kuwabara asked.
“I don't know.” Yusuke answered, a glare in his brown eyes. “Come out Dragon! This whole 'Hide and Seek' thing is getting pretty lame!” He shouted as he clenched his fists tightly.
Suddenly, lightning flashed in front of us, forming a green ball. The brightness of the ball was almost blinding, making all of us put a hand or an arm in front of our eyes. Not only from the light though, the force of the ball was making the wind whip around us, making the debris on the floor to rise up. Dust flying in the air, but it soon died down, and we saw a figure standing in front of us. We brought down our eyes when we saw a closer look of the man. He was very tall, probably taller than Kuwabara, and that's saying something. He had pale green skin and black facial hair. He wore blue martial art robes, and it was tied around his waste with a large white strap. Around his shoulder was a blue dragon, which was actually solid instead of just on the fabric of his robes. To match his robes, the man wore a dark blue cap, and on his feet were simple black shoes.
“As you request.” The man said, his voice still as monotonous as before.
“A giant!” Kuwabara shouted, backing up slightly while pointing at the youkai in front of us. I sweat dropped, but I couldn't help but smirk now he knew how I felt when I had to stand next to him sometimes. It was really scary sometimes, trust me.
"You may call me Seiryu, I am here to end your lives intruders." Seiryu said before chuckling, which made me glare at him. Great, another guy I want to kill.
“Well he's no dragon, but he is ugly.” Yusuke said, almost letting a smirk on his lips.
Seiryu's eyes narrowed ever so slightly, but I could feel the coldness of it. Since he was intimidatingly, I felt afraid of him, even though most glares don't affect me, but since he was a giant his scared me. “Its not wise to say such things to your executioner.” He said annoyed, but suddenly his eyes widened a fraction before they narrowed again. “It appears we have another guest.” He looked pissed, that wasn't good, or was it?
We all tensed up at the thought of another Beast helping Seiryu, if the other two were touch to fight then two stronger ones would be impossible! We all looked around, trying to find the other 'guest' as Seiryu put it, but there wasn't anybody there. That was, however, until I felt a very familiar Spirit Energy form behind us, and I gasped, my eyes widening.
“It's coming from behind us.” Hiei said, turning around, me doing the same.
The boys looked over their shoulder, and stared at the door with anticipation as well as Hiei and I. I was staring at the door with a glare, not wanting to believe that it was true. Not after all that happened, it just wasn't fair! However, when the doors opened, my worst fear came true when I saw Byakko's battered and burned body holding the doors open. I clenched my fists tightly, my nails digging further into my palm than they had before. My hand was beginning to turn white, but I let them unclench when I had enough of holding in my anger.
“You fucking fell in the lava! How the hell can you still be alive?!” I asked furiously.
Byakko didn't spare me a glance as he walked, or limped I really should say, into the room. His eyes were focused on Seiryu only, and he began towards him, looking completely desperate. “You...must help.” He managed to choke out, I guess I did a number on him, but he was still alive. How the hell could I ever dream of killing Kane if I can't kill Byakko?! Dammit!
“You've got to be kidding.” Yusuke mumbled shocked, not believe that he was seeing Byakko either.
“Please Seiryu, these cowards, they tricked me in my own lair.” Byakko said, his voice showing fear. “They hid their true powers from me 'til the very end, you must help me recover.” He begged as he now stood in front of the pale green giant. His red eyes were staring at Seiryu with unspoken pleas, his scared look still present.
“How much does it take to kill this guy?” Yusuke asked, a little annoyed. This guy survived two things that could've killed him, falling from a very tall platform, and falling into lava. He should be dead right now!
“Weakling, how dare you dishonor us further.” Seiryu demanded angrily, his tone cold.
“Please Seiryu!” Byakko shouted, backing up slightly, his eyes even wider now. I don't know why, but when I saw the hateful glare that Seiryu gave Byakko, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. It looked like he was really scared, is that weird for me to feel bad for him? I don't think so...
“You are no longer wanted here, you are a disgrace.” Seiryu growled, getting into a fighting stance.
Blue Spirit Energy began to form around Seiryu's body, the wind picking up as the Energy grew brighter. He held his left hand in front of himself, while his other hand held a blue light. Byakko's eyes widened as he saw the youkai he thought of as a friend turn on him, even though he had been so loyal to him and their Master. Byakko backed up, trying to get away from his demise, however he knew it was futile. Seiryu wasn't the type of youkai that would let his pray go, and that was especially true when it came to people who he considered weak and useless.
“No Seiryu! I can help you kill them, it was just one mistake!” Byakko pleaded, but they fell on deaf ears.
“Ice Dragon!” Seiryu shouted.
Seiryu let his right fist fly in front of him, a sudden cold air flowing from his closed fist towards Byakko. I even began to shiver, but that wasn't even the worst of what Byakko was getting. The sound of ice filled that air, it creeping over Byakko's body at a fast rate, before it fully encased him, ceasing the screams that fell from his chops. Soon there was no sound, and we all just stared when we saw Byakko's body fully covered from head to toe in ice. It made us all gasp, and our eyes widen at such a cruel act, I think Hiei was actually shocked as well, but his wasn't as apparent as ours were, but he still showed it. It was completely terrible, I've never seen a teammate do something like this to their comrade, it just wasn't right!
“What the...?” Yusuke trailed off in shock.
I shook my head, my eyes never leaving Byakko's encased form. “How terrible.” I mumbled to myself, not believing what I just saw.
“He's frozen.” Kuwabara stated quietly, his eyes wide as well.
Our eyes, seemingly at the same time, narrowed into a glare as we looked back at Seiryu. How could he have done that to someone, especially when they were begging for help?! If I wasn't almost drained of my Spirit Energy, I would've drawn my Katana and killed him right where he stood, but I couldn't. I wouldn't even be able to use one of my most basic attacks, and that only made me even more pissed than I already was.
However, I was going to furious when I saw what happened next. Seiryu narrowed his eyes at his frozen ex-comrade. He let out a shout as he suddenly kicked off the ground, beginning to run at the tiger. I followed him with my glare, my fist clenching as I wondered what he was trying to do. But my eyes widened when I saw him jump in the air, and bringing his right leg towards Byakko. The sound of flesh hitting ice filled the air, and we saw Seiryu's leg connecting with Byakko's chest, cracks of ice rapidly spreading throughout the tiger's body. The noise filled the air just seconds before Byakko's body shattered into millions of tiny shards, while he head was the only thing in tact.
“You were right about my fog energy, by lowering it to sub-zero temperatures, I can wrap my enemies in ice.” Seiryu explained, getting out of his stance, staring at the shattered remains of Byakko without a care.
“You heartless bastard!” Yusuke shouted, glaring at him heatedly. “How could you kill off your own friend?!” He demanded angrily.
“Seiryu, why-.” Byakko had started to say, but before he could finish, he coughed off blue blood, stopping him from finishing. I stared at Byakko's head with wide and sad eyes, for him to still be alive is just terrible.
“He was a weapon, not a friend, like a cheap sword, he rusted.” Seiryu said, spitting on Byakko's head.
If I thought I was mad before, I was completely and utterly infuriated now. I never thought I could hate anyone this much, but Seiryu had definitely been put in the number one spot of my most hated list. And when I saw a tear in Byakko's eye, just before his eyes dulled and glazed over, that only made me angrier. Byakko had obviously cared for Seiryu as a friend, but seeing as how Seiryu didn't feel the same way and killed him, it clearly hurt. I would be devastated if my best friend had killed me, even Byakko didn't deserve that, no matter what he had done.
“This race of beast had no loyalty.” Kurama informed, however he held a cold glare as well. “Alliances are formed only to gain power.”
“I don't care what kind of race they are, its not right to kill your teammate. Especially when they come asking you for help.” Kuwabara said with a growl, glaring at Seiryu hatefully.
“I agree with Kuwabara.” I nodded, gripping my Katana, I didn't care if I had low Spirit Energy, I was going to kill that bastard!
“This guy pushed me too far, he's dead!” Yusuke shouted, his fist clenching so tight I thought they would either turn white or burst from the pressure that he was apply to them. However, before he could even think of running over to Seiryu, someone stopped him.
“Save your anger, you go take their leader, I insist this fight be mine.” Hiei said, holding out his hand to stop Yusuke from going any further, greatly shocking all of us.
“Ah, shall you be first Hiei?” Seiryu asked, a smirk on his lips.
Hiei didn't answer him, just kept glaring as he walked towards the green giant. Stopping a few feet away from Seiryu, Hiei glanced over to his right, seeing Byakko's head still there encased in ice. Taking off his robe, Hiei threw it over towards Byakko's head, covering it so as not to let him see what Hiei was about to do. I stared at Hiei with a surprised expression, for two reason actually. 1, he was fucking built, and 2, that was an actual gesture used to show sympathy. And I never would've guessed that he would show sympathy to anybody. I couldn't believe that I was actually going to think this, but that was very sweet. I never thought that I would ever think of Hiei like that, but he's full of surprises I guess.
“What was that?” Seiryu laughed. “Don't tell me you're feeling sympathy for this amateur. From your actions at the Gate of Betrayal, I was hoping you would have more of a warrior’s spirit.” He said a bit disappointed, while Hiei only glared at him.
"He's a puzzle isn't he?” Kurama asked, making us look at him. “In times before, I've seen Hiei act with similar cruelty. But something about Byakko's execution has caused great anger in him, Hiei seems to live by his own code, with very complex rules. But one thing is for certain, never before have I seen Hiei begin a fight with an extraordinary amount of energy." Kurama explained, while I kept my gaze on Hiei, seeing him get into a stance, dark blue Spirit Energy forming around him.
“Good, just as long as he kicks some ass.” Yusuke said, glaring at Seiryu.
“Yeah.” I nodded.
Ending it here, I hope you liked it! Bye!

Bye!
