~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~

Tension filled the air as we watched Hiei and Seiryu glare at each other. The room becoming colder than it already was, making me shiver slightly. However, I don't believe it was because of the cold present around us. Seiryu was rather intimidating, and I was actually scared for Hiei, even if he was a bastard, I didn't want him to end up like Byakko! I cringed as I looked over at Hiei's discarded robe, a large bump showing through it, indicating that Byakko's head was still there. That was still so cruel, and Byakko being alive through the whole thing was even worse. Turning back to the soon to be fight, I narrowed my eyes and silently gave Hiei encouragement, he better kill that bastard and make him suffer!

“I assure you Hiei, that its not too late to join our ranks. Portray  yourself before my Master and he shall give you power and fame beyond what you have ever tasted.” Seiryu said a sudden smirk on his lips.

I instantly looked at Hiei, really hoping he wouldn't betray us again. However, for some reason I knew that he wouldn't, I just wanted to be sure. “Is that all you have to say?” Hiei glared menacingly at Seiryu, making me smile slightly and sigh in relief, thank god! However, Seiryu didn't seem to please, giving Hiei a confused and shocked stare. “They're last words you know.” Hiei said smirking.

“Fine, so that is your choice.” Seiryu growled. “So you shall meet your death with the other weaklings.”

Spirit Energy began to form around Seiryu once again, it growing brighter just as it did when we first met him. I hissed slightly as the light became even brighter, causing me to cover my eyes. And that wasn't all that was growing, the force of the Spirit Energy that he was creating formed into fog once again. The debris and the fog began to rapidly fly towards all five of us, making us brace ourselves for the pain. I clearly remember Seiryu saying something about how he can use his Spirit Energy to make fog or something like that, so it could be a form of attack, but either way it seemed like it would hurt. However, the pain never came. I looked up from my hands to see Hiei slice through the fog with his Katana, dividing it into two streams. Each of them went on each side of us, connecting heavily against the walls right next to me and Kuwabara, creating large holes.

I let out a squeak as I heard the crash come from right beside me, and I quickly looked. Not even five inches away from my body was a huge hole. I  gasped, my eyes widening at how close I was to becoming that wall. *Damn! I am so happy that Hiei is on our side right now!* I thought, quickly moving away from the hole and closer to my team.

“Hey, be careful!” Kuwabara and I shouted to Hiei.

I narrowed my eyes in confusion and looked over at Kuwabara. About three to four feet away from his was the hole from the fog. Glaring at him, I couldn't help but think. *Baka ningen* What? He was! It didn't even come close to hitting him!

Seiryu let out a growl, his fist emitting a blue glow around it. I turned back towards the fight, not liking that look at all. “Try blocking this!” He shouted angrily.

“That freeze technique, run!” Yusuke shouted urged, his fist clenched slightly out of silent nervousness.

“Ice Dragon!” Seiryu shouted.

He let his right fist fly once again, the blue Spirit Energy flying at Hiei, just like it did with Byakko. Hiei narrowed his eyes slightly, but simply front-flipped over the attack, landing behind Seiryu like nothing had even happened. Seiryu had his back towards Hiei, his eyes narrowing into an annoyed glare. He turned, his glare not disappearing from his eyes, while Hiei returned it. I on the other hand, was sweat dropping slightly at what I had just seen. Hiei just front-flipped over an attack that killed a Saint Beast in one blow. How the hell is that even possible?! How strong is Hiei anyway?! God dammit, I feel really weak and slow compared to him, I really do hate him! Well not really, but kind of...

“Show off.” I muttered, crossing my arms as I looked to the side. The boys sweat dropped with me, but looked at me with slightly blank looks.

“Sorry,” Seiryu spoke, getting into position again. “I had forgotten your impressive speed, now lets try again!” He shouted, his fist flying rapidly at Hie once again. But this time faster than before.

It was hard to keep track of Hiei's movements, see as how he kept disappearing. But that was to be expected when Seiryu wasn't letting up in his onslaught, ice flying from his fist rapidly and it seemed like he was just getting started as well. Soon Hiei was all over the room, latching onto walls, and pillars that happened to get in his way. Everything was getting covered in ice, making the already cold room fucking sub-zero. I could see my breath every time I let out a surprised gasp, or a sigh of relief. What? I did NOT want to fight against Seiryu if Hiei got hurt or died! From what I'm seeing right here, I don't have a chance, I'll probably end of like Byakko and I don't want that to happen, thank you very much! Also, if we had to fight against him, it would be pretty hard considering there was ice everywhere.  The floors, walls and ceiling was covered in the slippery, frozen substance.

“He's  going to turn the whole room into a Hockey Rink.” Yusuke joked, however his expression didn't change from the serious look on his face. I, however, gave him a strange look, what the hell was a 'Hockey Rink'? But I shrugged it off, it must be some kind of ningen thing.

“Not the just the room, man I wish I had my jacket back.” Kuwabara said, wrapping his arms around his bare torso, shivering violently.  Not to mention his hair was half frozen, that was pretty funny actually.

I rose an eyebrow and stared at Kuwabara strangely. “What happened to your jacket?” I asked.

Kuwabara got a blush over his cheeks, and rubbed the back of his head nervously, a force laugh falling from his lips as he spoke. “Back at Byakko's Room of Hell, it got so hot while you were fighting that I took off my shirt. But it-uh, it fell in the lava.” Another nervous laugh fell through is lips, while I sweat dropped.

*Baka ningen.* I thought once again.

“Hiei!” Kurama shouted, his tone holding shock and concern.

Hearing that from someone like Kurama made my head snap back to the fight. I quickly looked at Hiei, only to gasp when I saw that the lower half of his left leg was covered in ice.  My eyes widened and my mouth fell open, he actually got hit, I never thought that would happen! Ok, that's a bit of a lie, but seeing Hiei's speed for...I think it's actually been a few days since we've been in here, that's kind of surprising. But I cringed a the thought of how mad he would be when his leg somehow shatters, that will not be fun. I shook my head to get rid of that thought and watched as Hiei jumped back from Seiryu, landing on his right knee. His crimson eyes burning with anger as he glared at Seiryu, now I think I'm a little intimidated by Hiei right now. His glares can be scary...

“Hey, he's ok.” Yusuke said smiling, apparently not noticing Hiei's leg.

Kuwabara nodded and turned to Kurama. “Yeah, don't scare us like that.” My right eye twitched as I looked at the two of them, my god they are slow! How is it even possible to miss that? Just look at Hiei's clothes, having blue and black together, it would seem very noticeable!

“No.” Kurama shook his head. “His leg, he won't be able to run away anymore.” He explained.

“You see, no one ever escapes, only beg for mercy.” Seiryu said, staring at Hiei with an emotionless gaze. “With your leg frozen, you can't possibly move, I suggest you start graveling.” Getting into the very familiar, and rather old, stance of 'Ice Dragon'.

“What can he do?” Yusuke asked, a bit confused.

“Ice Dragon!” Seiryu shouted once again.

I looked over at Hiei quickly, wondering why the hell he wasn't getting out of the way. Only one of his legs were frozen, that meant he could use the other one, but he was still kneeling down. My eyes widened, why wasn't he moving?! I think it would be a bit of common sense to move AWAY from the attack that could possibly kill you, instead of flying straight towards it like a dumb ass. I would even get the hell away from it! However, my thoughts were silenced when Hiei plunged his Katana into the ground, pushing himself forward, going straight towards Seiryu.

“Now you end!” Seiryu shouted once again, Hiei only a few inches in front of him.

I opened my mouth to shout something to him, but I stopped when my eyes suddenly picked up Hiei's speed. He brought up his sword, and slashed across Seiryu's body about nine or ten times from what I could see, and before I knew it, he was on the other side of Seiryu. Hiei landed on his right knee once again, and we gasped when we saw the ice creep up his right leg and left arm. However, I actually let out a sigh of relief when I saw that he didn't get killed. Sure the dude was a god damned asshole, but I don't really wish death on people just because he pisses me off. Although, when I saw Seiryu move, I quickly grew concerned, that didn't kill him?! Hiei was going to be in big trouble now, he could move now that both his legs were now covered.

“Hiei!” Yusuke and I shouted together, worried looks on our faces.

Seiryu looked down at Hiei, a smirk now on his lips as he saw the state Hiei was now in. “You have escaped, but you are wounded.” He said, his eyes showing the same sadistic look that I remember all too well from Byakko. But he glared when Hiei chuckled darkly, while the boys and I  turned to him in surprise. Why the hell was he laughing when he could easily be killed right now? I believe he's a bit full of himself... “Why are you laughing?” Seiryu demanded, his eyes narrowing further.

Hiei didn't answer at first, but stood up and smirked at the ice Saint Beast. “So what if your ice trick killed your wounded friend? It won't kill me.” He said, clenching his left fist, the ice breaking into pieces, while his arm stayed in tact. The same went for his legs, the ice shattering as well.

Seiryu's eyes widened with shock. “Thats impossible, I shall give one final blow!” He shouted, but he stopped when he felt a sticky substance fall from his forehead.

“I don't think so.” Hiei said.

Seiryu suddenly felt pain explode around his body all at once, and a pain filled shout flew from his lips. His hand went to his head as he threw his head back, a bright light beginning to form around him as his body rapidly began to shred apart, thanks to the slashes Hiei gave him earlier. Seiryu's shouts of pain grew until his body exploded into pieces of ice, leaving nothing but the tiny shards behind to fall onto the floor and melt away. I blinked in surprise, both because I didn't expect that to really happen, and because of how slow he died. I think getting hit ten times would kill you in a matter of seconds, not minutes. But I smiled when I saw that Seiryu was now dead, thank god!

“My god, he sure takes a long time to die, doesn't he.” I said, looking at the spot where Seiryu once stood just seconds before.

“When did he attack?” Kuwabara asked confused and shocked.

Yusuke smiled and he began to laugh, making me do the same. And when Yusuke began to run towards Hiei, I followed right behind him, leaving  Kuwabara and Kurama behind. “Don't feel bad Kuwabara, I couldn't see it either after the initial hit.” Kurama said, giving the red head a sincere smile before following after us.

Kuwabara blinked for a second before a goofy grin spread across his lips widely. “Shorty's a lot cooler than I thought!” He exclaimed loudly, and took off after Kurama.

Hiei still stood where he had when he talked to Seiryu just moment ago, and slid his Katana back into it's sheath, just as Yusuke, Kurama, Kuwabara and I made it to him. All of us were smiling at him, while he still had on his emotionless look on his face. However that didn't stop me from smiling, we just killed three of the four Saint Beast, and that that this mission was almost over and we could get the hell out of this god damned castle! Not even Hiei's bad attitude could ruin my happiness, especially when he just saved us a load of trouble with his skills. Although I am still a bit sore about that, I feel very slow compared to him...

“You made french fries out of that guy.” Yusuke said, giving Hiei a smirk.

“What?” I asked a bit confused.

“I'll tell you later.”

“Damn.”

“Hiei,& #8221; Kurama said, bringing the conversation back to the main point. “How many times did you cut him?”

“Only sixteen.” Hiei answered.

“Sixteen?! Dammit!” Yusuke and I shouted together, our eyes widening greatly. How fast is he?! I can't even do that, and I'm suppose to be fast too! That's it, I'm training non-stop for a year from now on, this is ridiculous!

“And I could only see seven or eight.” Yusuke sighed.

“I only see about ten of them, man I feel really slow.” I whined slightly, crossing my arms with a put covering my lips.

“That's nothin meager, after the first hit, I only saw flashes of light.” Kurama said with a smile, aw he's such a sweet person! How the hell is he a criminal again, cause I don't think I've ever met one that was a s nice as him before.

Kuwabara gave a depressed sigh, slouching forward. “I didn't even see the flashes.” He said, a bit down.

“Man, this isn't good.” Yusuke said to the fire youkai, a nervous look passing over his face as he rubbed the back of his neck. “If you use those moves the next time we fight, I'm gong to be screwed.” He looked even more nervous after saying it out loud, it seems.

“Same here, if we ever do fight, I think I'll be dead before we even start.” I said, smiling although not seeming to understand what I just said.

Hiei stared at us with a blank look, but he closed his eyes before turning around. “Maybe.” He said a bit emotionlessly, walking over to his robe that still laid over Byakko's frozen head.

“Hiei?” Yusuke asked, dropping his arms as he watched him walk away.

My smile dropped and I frowned, cocking my head to the side, wondering what we said that would upset him. I don't think Yusuke or I said anything bad, right? "I thought for sure he was going to say 'well of course you fool!'" Kuwabara suddenly said, trying to imitate Hiei's voice, but failing badly at it. Hearing that, I stared at Kuwabara with a blank look, I really don't think he should do that again.

"Hiei is going through a tricky change." Kurama said, breaking the silence that fell.

“Huh?” Yusuke, Kuwabara and I asked, staring at the emerald eyed boy with very confused expressions. I don' think that Hiei acted any differently than he usually does, OK lie, but still it wasn't that much different.

“I think he's beginning to like you two.” Kurama explained.

I blinked in surprise, how the hell would Hiei ever like me? We piss each other off so much, I think we would become arch enemies or something more than ever being friends. I looked back at Hiei, seeing him lifting his robe off of Byakko's head. Putting his robe back over his shoulder's, he watched as Byakko's head disappeared in a bright green light, leaving nothing in the spot where it had been just moments before. I wasn't sure if he had died right then, or he died earlier, but it still made me grow sad. However, I couldn't help but smile slightly, Hiei doesn't seem to be that much of heartless bastard after all if he could show sympathy for someone, especially Byakko of all people.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Yusuke smile too, and he walked over to the door in front of us. We all followed as well, and watched as Yusuke opened the door and turned to us. “OK guys, lets get the last Saint Beast, I'm getting sick of running around this damn place.” He said with a smirk, while I could only laugh slightly, my thoughts exactly, thank you Yusuke!

Once the doors were fully open, we all raced up the stairs that laid in front of us. I almost began to groan, remembering how all we have been doing besides fight Saint Beasts, is running up so many fucking flights of stairs. It was a really good thing that I was a thief before and I actually had to be fast and be use to walking and running for hours. This would really be terrible if I didn't have that kind of training, however it's been a few days and I could feel my legs beginning to ache with a dull pain. However, the thought of killing the last Saint Beast kept me from stopping, seeing as how that would only delay the ending of this mission, and all I wanted to do was get the hell out of here. And I hope to god that when this is over, Koenma will tear down this god damned place, or I will by myself and I will have too much fun with it. That is a promise.

Minutes passed us by, and we were now running in a winding staircase, one that you would see in a tower of a castle. It had been nothing but quiet, until Kuwabara suddenly stopped, gasping loudly. All of us turned and looked at Kuwabara, who seemed to be frozen. I rose an eyebrow at him, he looked scared, like he just saw something completely terrifying. What's wrong with him?

“What now? Got cramps?” Yusuke asked, a bit annoyed that we had to stop.

"My whole brain just felt like an ice cube, something bad happening. I think back on Earth." Kuwabara said looking down, his eyes still wide with that same look of fear. That must have been a bad feeling if that was making him act like this.

“No telling how long we've been here, the Beasts likely have organized a counter assault using the Makai.” Kurama said.

“Only one more, lets not waste time.” Hiei said looking at us.

I nodded. “Yeah, for once I agree with Hiei. Lets jut find that flute for right now, instead of worrying about something we're not sure of.” I said, and the boys nodded before we continued to run, while I began to glare, the last Beast better not have started to kill the ningens.

Luckily we didn't have to run that much further until we came to a metal door. Praying in my head that it wasn't a door, Yusuke pulled it open, revealing a nice new sight. We were now on the roof, or at least I think we were seeing as how we were now very high up. But in the distance there was a tower, and at the top it was a circular shape. My eyes narrowed at is, that was probably where the last Saint Beast was. I couldn't wait until that bastard was dead, I had nothing against Ningenkai, so when youkai decide to attack innocent beings it really pissed me off. It makes me ashamed to be in the same race as them. But I  shook my head to clear my head, we still weren't fighting the Beast yet, there could still be traps set here. Knowing these guys, they are pretty smart, even though I don't want to admit it. They wouldn't just let anybody walk into their Master's tower without there being some kind of trap that would test us. That would seem more believable, even though I didn't like it.

“Hurry it up.” Yusuke shouted, his eyes narrowed into an angry glare. Apparently ever since Kuwabara said something about Ningenkai, he's been very edgy and easily angered. I wonder what upset him.

“Shut up.” Kuwabara shouted back, making me sight. Great fighting, just what we need from our team.

Suddenly, Yusuke stopped when we saw the tower come fuller into view, and he narrowed his eyes further at it, like it was some kind of threat. “What the hell is that thing?” He asked, a bit annoyed.

"It's the watch tower, I'm sure that's where he's hiding." Hiei answered studying it.

“Fine!” Yusuke shouted, clenching his fists. “Then lets drag him out!” And with that he took off in a run towards the watch tower.

“Hey! Wait for us!” I shouted, taking off after him.

However, we didn't get very far after we started to running. After a few minutes into the run, Yusuke's Communication Mirror went off in his pocket, and we all looked over at him.  Yusuke narrowed his eyes in annoyance at the interruption, and pulled the purple circle out of his pants and flipped it open.  I blinked, I wonder what Botan wants now, I hope there hasn't been any killings there, or that would really be a problem.

“What now?” Yusuke asked, a small growl in his voice.

Botan looked nervous, and when I looked closer I saw a girl next to her. She had short brown hair and similar colored eyes, she looked around Yusuke's age. “Small problem.” Botan said, her tone matching her expression.

“Keiko?!” Yusuke's eyes widened when he saw the girl next to Botan. I couldn't help but smirk, that must be his girlfriend, ooh looks like he's in trouble now.

"I had to pick her up from school, Yusuke. It seems that every infected person in the area is looking for her." Botan answered with a worried look on her face, and I stopped smirking. That wasn't funny at all, why the hell would the Saint Beast send all the infected people after a fourteen year old girl?! That's terrible!

“What?” Yusuke asked, concern in his eyes as he stopped, us doing the same.

“And I don't think they want to talk.” Botan said, before looking away from the mirror. An infected person must have come near her and Keiko, and I felt the fear for my friend and Yusuke's girlfriend rise in me, I hope they'll be OK. “I'm almost certain they mean to killer her.” She finished once she looked back at the mirror.

“Did you say kill?!” Yusuke shouted angrily, his eyes narrowing into a glare once again. I resisted the urge to step away from him, he could get really scary when he's mad.

Kuwabara got a solemn look on his face. “So, that's what my premonition was.” He said.

"The beasts must be using the Makai whistle to order the-." Botan began but stopped and gasped when some thing parted the bushes behind her and Keiko. My eyes widened when I saw a blue skinned man there, glaring own at the two girls.

“Cockroach!” The man shouted, sending a fist as them, and the screen went fuzzy before we could see anything else. My fear rose even more, they better not have gotten hurt!

"Botan are you there?! Botan!" Yusuke shouted into the mirror, but the screen stayed the same.

“I got a bad feeling about this.” Kuwabara said, scared.

“We got to smash that whistle as fast as we can.” Yusuke said, hastily putting the mirror back in his pocket.

“Yeah, come on, we don't have much time.” I said, breaking into a run.

The others were right behind me, and my eyes glared at the watch tower that was coming closer. My fists clenched and unclenched at the thought of the Saint Beast, I hated youkai like him, killing because they think it was fun and for the power that came with it. Types of youkai reminded me of my brother, and I hated my brother with such a burning hatred, it could fuel the seven pits of hell. Yusuke better kick that son of a bitches ass and kill the fucker or I would, because these guys have done nothing but piss me off since we got here. And that was going to happen very soon, seeing as we were now standing in front of the watch tower, it looking bigger than it had minutes before, but that didn't change my mind in the slightest. Lightning cracked in the distance, illuminating the tower with a golden light, and thunder rumbled loudly. I swear these lightning bolts only appeared at the times where it would make things like this dramatic, but they just don't work. OK Kira, don't distract yourself, remember the mission!

“OK guys,” Kuwabara said, a bit freaked out. “That's a spooky watch tower.”

“The last Beast should be on the top floor.” Kurama stated looking up at it, his eyes narrowed as well as everyone else, besides Kuwabara's of course.

“Then lets climb some stairs.” Yusuke said.

However, before we could take a step towards the tower door, my ears twitched. “Stop.” I ordered, holding out my arm, hearing the sounds of groaning coming  near the tower entrance. My eyes snapped over to the two tubes, one on each side of the tower entrance.

“What is it, Kira?” Kurama asked.

“There's a lot of movement coming from those two stone tubes.” I said, my eyes narrowing at the darkened tubes.

Seconds passed, and we all became tense when the sound of groans began to get louder. Out of the thick darkness, we saw shadowed figures begin to emerge from the tubes and we all got into stances. Once the figures stepped into the light, thanks to another flash of lightning, our eyes widened slightly at what we saw. Identical looking beings filled out in front of the entrance  to the tower, their skin green and was the texture of weeds or grass. Their eyes were yellow, and the only noises they could make were the pitiful moans that currently fell through their lips. My eyes softened when I saw them, and I bit my lip as I realized what they were. Cultivated Ningens.

“Hey!” Kuwabara stepped back. “What are those things?!” He shouted with wide eyes, but we didn't answer, and his eyes only widened when more came out. “Whatever those guys are, they're is a lot of them, and it's gonna take us about a year to beat 'em all.”

“Yes,” Kurama nodded. “Considering our time restraint, this could be a real problem.”

“I've had dealings with Cultivated Ningens before, they do not feel pain or fear.” Hiei said, eyes narrowing at the poor ningens.

“How twisted do you have to be to turn humans into monsters like that?” Kuwabara asked pissed off, his fist clenching tightly at the thought of youkai doing something like this to his fellow race. It was terrible to think of what these ningens had to go through to get where they are right now. He didn't want to think about it.

“Apparently the asshole at the top floor of this damn tower.” I growled angrily.

“I think Keiko is in some serious trouble.” Kuwabara nodded, a glare still in his eyes as he looked at the tower.

Yusuke glared furiously at the Cultivated Ningens, his teeth clenching together as a growl emitted from his throat. “Like hell she is! Stupid monster-humans trying to slow us down! I'm blowing them all away with my Shot Gun!” He shouted, raising his hand, however, Kurama stopped him as he put a hand on Yusuke's left shoulder.

“Let's use our heads.” Kurama said.

“What?! You want me to head-butt them?!” Yusuke snapped, while I sweat dropped.

"It's not wise to waste your spirit power, the more impatient we are, the more mistakes we'll make." Kurama answered him, shaking his head.

“Well, how is head-butting gonna help? My Shot Gun is the only thing that will get us past them!”  Yusuke shouted once again, while I shook my head at him. How hard is it to understand what Kurama was trying to say?! Geez!

“No." Hiei said, making us all face him.

I looked over at him and rose an eyebrow. “So, you got an idea?”

Hiei gave me a slight nod before walking forward and looking at the tower. “Set your sights on the first tower window, that is your door.” He said simply.

Yusuke started to smile at the idea, but frowned when he thought about it. “Well I'm sorry 'Mister Mysterious', but I forget to pack my pogo-stick!” He shouted with an irked look on his face, while I gave him a look ,but stopped. Ningen thing.

“Yeah!” Kuwabara nodded. “How do you expect him to jump that high?!”

“I'll need you to listen closely.” Hiei said, a bit annoyed, before he explained his ingenious plan, except for one thing that is.

I shook my head, putting my arms in the shape of an 'X' in front of me while I glared at the fire youkai. "Oh hell no! I'm not getting up on anyone's shoulders! You may have forgotten 'mister smarty' but I"m wearing a dress! Even if I'm wearing shorts, there is still no way in hell I'm doing that!" I shouted with an irk mark.

“Fine, then you can clear our path, Onna.” Hiei said, glaring at me for interrupting him.

I blinked slightly at that, but smiled when I thought about what that would mean for me. “Ok!” I smiled, nodding excitedly, making the boys sweat drop.

Soon, the plan went into motion. When Hiei gave me the signal, which was a stare, I took off running with Katana in hand. When I reached the Cultivated Ningens, I swung rapidly, slicing through the green skinned beings while Kuwabara was right behind me. I quickly made a spot for him to stop, and when he did, Kurama jumped onto his back, landing on his shoulder, which looked quiet painful actually. Hiei was next, jumping from Kuwabara's back and landing on Kurama's shoulders. Then last, but not least, Yusuke came and he also jumped on Kuwabara's back before kicking off of Hiei's shoulders, catapulting from all three boys and towards the window, latching onto the edge. Hiei and Kurama quickly jumped down from Kuwabara's shoulders, making the poor ningen fall forward and land on his face. While I was off laughing, finding the whole thing hilarious.

“Hey, remind me to try out for the cheer leading squad. Have fun with the veggie heads!" Yusuke shouted once he made it inside, a smirk on his lips.

“Don't you die on me!” Kuwabara shouted to him.

“Yeah! If you do I'll go to spirit world and kick your ghost ass!" I shouted smiling, waving at him, giving him good luck.

Then with one final thumbs up, Yusuke disappeared into the tower's darkness. I turned to behind me, the smile wiping off my face as I looked at the Cultivated Ningens. My eyes narrowed when I got into a stance, we weren't going to be doing much except fighting these things, and there seemed to be more and more of those things coming. Yusuke is probably gonna right the last Saint Beast by himself, despite how much I hate the thought of that. I've never seen Yusuke fight, but if I did, that would still make me worry. These guys are not easy, regardless of how easy Hiei made it seem with the last fight. These guys are really strong, and I didn't want to deal with a death of a new friend, I don't want there to be anymore death around me as long as I can stop it.

“Poor guys,” Kuwabara said, making me glance at him. “I'm gonna feel bad for kick your butts!” He shouted, punching a Cultivated ningen in the face.

*Good luck Yusuke, you're really going to need it* I thought with a worried look before leaping into the action as well.

And hour flew by without any of us noticing, when we had more enemies than we could count, I guess it was natural to lose track of the time. However, I was beginning to grow worried, I would have guessed that Yusuke would be done with his fight by now, but that wasn't the case. He hadn't come back down yet to tell us that our mission was done. I was beginning to fear that something happened to him, but I would quickly dismiss it, I didn't want to think about something like that unless I was sure that it had actually happened. Although, it kept popping into my head despite my wishes not to, I was really growing worried about him. But the increasing numbers of Cultivated Ningens helped me focus more on my fight, except it only made me angrier. There was so many of them!

"Dammit, they never end, how the hell is it even possible to get so many ningens?" I asked, glaring as more came.

"We gotta find a way to get to Urameshi." Kuwabara said breathlessly.

"Yes, Kuwabara, I have a strong sense that he needs our help.” Kurama said, his eyes turning to look at the tower. There had been many lightning strikes in the past hour and a half, it wasn’t natural, that only meant that this Beast with a lightning youkai as well. Great.

Hiei only nodded.

"I hope you guys are behind me!" Kuwabara shouted, running towards the Cultivated Ningens, us following right behind him, our weapons raised.

Minutes passed and we were still fighting, and we were growing tired. One after another I cut them down, but it seemed like two more would come in their places, I even had to resort to using some of my other attacks. Dark Sphere helped a bit, and Lightning Field and Lightning Surge did as well, but that only drained me of my energy even more, and I couldn't have that. I still needed to be conscious and able to fight when I went to help Yusuke, but by the loos of things right now, I don't think that was going to happen at all. And that only made me growl in annoyance, but I stopped when I heard something from behind me.

I turned around, seeing Kuwabara running towards the Cultivated Ningens, a determined look on his face. "I'm coming Urameshi!" Kuwabara shouted, his sword pointed at an angel in the air. "Sword get longer!" And just like he had wanted, his Spirit Sword extended in a long pole, and hi stuck it into the ground.

Kuwabara lifted himself off the ground, flying through the air, way over all of our heads. I watched with a surprised expression, it looks like he was actually going to make it. However, when I saw him get closer, I saw that wasn't the case, and I sweat dropped as Kuwabara slammed into the wall below the first window that Yusuke had wen through an hour before. I cringed when I saw the cracks form around Kuwabara's form, and when he started to slip down I saw the hole he made, that looked like it hurt a lot. However, I couldn't help but let out a laugh when I saw him dangling there, and before I knew it I was holding my knees as I laughed so hard my sides were hurting.

“That was hilarious!” I managed to choke out, while Hiei and Kurama ran over to where I was. I stopped laughing, and saw that all of Cultivated Ningens were dead, and that the entrance was cleared.

"Kuwabara! What are you doing?" Kurama shouted up to the poor boy.

“Being a baka.” I said stiffening a giggle, while that caused Hiei to smirk. Ah, the only thing we can agree with, picking on Kuwabara, although I do it in fun, I think Hiei does it to just be mean. Oh well.

“We've cleared a path to the entrance, quit fooling around!" Hiei shouted before he ran into the tower, Kurama and I following. Kuwabara followed soon after, somehow getting down without breaking his neck, seeing as how he was really high up when he was clinging to the tower wall.

However, we didn't stay running for too long. After a few minutes there were more Cultivated Ningens coming down the stairs to meet us. “This blows! By the time we plow through all these weirdos, we'll be too tired to help Urameshi."

"Tired hands are better than none." Kurama said.

I nodded in agreement. “Yeah,” I said looking at the Ningens coming towards us.

"Do what you like, I'm not stopping." Hiei said, his eyes narrowed.

"That's one thing we have in common, we don't stop fighting 'til the very end." I said giving Hiei a smirk, which he only returned before we all jumped into the swarm of Cultivated Ningens.

Thankfully the Cultivated Ningens on the stairs were less than the ones we faced outside. We had cut threw them within a matter of minutes, a nice change from the hour and a half we had to waste on the ones before. However, every second that passed made me even more worried about Yusuke. The more the flashes came, the more the thought of Yusuke dieing grew. I don't think the boy has enough Spirit Energy to keep him going for this long, from what I've learned form Koenma, this is only his second case. That meant he hasn't had that much training, this seems like too much of a job for him to do. And now he was against the toughest Saint Beast, the odds were just stacked against him. I quickly stopped that thought when I looked around me, seeing us running up a circular staircase. There was a huge rode that went through the middle of the stairs, and there was nothing else. If we even so much as tripped on these things, we would fall. I gulped at the thought, god I really hate heights, and I really hate this castle.

And my hate only grew when I heard a loud lightning strike hit the castle, making the whole area shake. I, not expecting it, covered my head, stopped and screamed, making the boys do the same. They all looked at me alarmed, but saw there was nothing and all, but Kurama, glared at me. I quickly realized my mistake and looked at them, and smiled weakly. “Sorry, I got scared.” I whispered, blushing from embarrassment. Great going me.

"The biggest lightning eruption by far, Suzaku must be getting desperate." Kurama stated, looking up at the floor above us. I followed his gaze and stared worriedly, poor Yusuke, I hope he's all right.

"That attack would surely kill one of them." Hiei said nonchalantly.

"You jerk! What if Yusuke really dies!" I shouted at him with a glare! How could he just say that so easily?! Yusuke could really die here!

"Don't say that!" Kuwabara shouted at us, his eyes narrowed.

Kuwabara, not wanting to wait any longer, took off up the stairs, and us right behind him. However, we stopped when another strong strike of lightning shook the whole castle once again. But this time it was worse, the stairs above us crumbled, leaving nothing but a big gap between us and the stairs on the other side. I gulped, and quickly looked behind me, only to see the stairs there begin to crumble. Another huge gap separating us from salvation, and that made my 'heart' start to pound loudly in my ears. I could already picture us falling when another lighting flash came, and I was not looking forward to that.

“The stairs...” Kurama said looking at the falling bits of rubble.

“Oh no, now what are we going to do?!” Kuwabara whined, throwing his arms up in the air with frustration.

I began to shake, staring down at the darkness, we could easily fall and die, way too much like what happened to me before for comfort. "Any of you move, and make us fall, I'll kill you." I said pointing at them with a glare. However, another surge of lightning struck, and the castle shook violently. My eyes widened before I fell to my knees, my hands over my head as my body shook, waiting for us to fall. But I looked up when I heard the sound of steel hitting rock, and saw Hiei's sword sticking out of the stairs in front of us. Kurama's Rose Whip was wrapped around it, and I saw a sliver of hope rise when I saw that.

"Needless to say, hold on tight." Kurama advised.

"Come on, Onna." Hiei said annoyed,  looking at my form, seeing as how I wasn't moving and holding on like the rest.

I nodded but my body wouldn't move, my body was still paralyzed with fear. Great. "Um. I can't move." I said sheepishly, looking at the boys with an apologetic look. Kuwabara rolled his eyes, Hiei glared and Kurama smiled slightly. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me up once the other boys did. It made me wonder how he was able to do that, but I was thankful that he did. However I felt bad for making him do that. Stupid fear of heights. "Thank you." I said smiling at Kurama, some of it apologetic.

"It's no problem, but if you don't mind me asking, why are you afraid of heights?" Kurama asked, genuinely curious.

"Oh, “ I said, flashes of the memory going through my had. “When I was little, after my parents died, I was being chased by some bandits. When they caught me they pushed me off a pretty high cliff.  I broke my back, arms, legs and ribs." I said counting off my fingers, but stopped when they all stared at me with wide eyes.

"What?!” I shouted. “I stole something from them! Anyway don't we need to help Yusuke!?" I asked nervously, not liking the looks they were giving me before I ran up the stairs, the boys quickly following.

Soon after a long awaited door, we opened up hastily, fearing for the worst. When we opened it, our eyes widened at what we saw. The whole top of the tower was blasted off, and the debris littered all over the stone floor. In the middle of all the chaos, there was Yusuke's form. He was covered in scratches, and his eyes were closed, not moving at all. We all rushed over to the fourteen year old Spirit Detective, worry on our faces, except for Hiei of course. Kurama quickly got to his side, feeling his heart beat, while Kuwabara and I waited with fear filled expressions on our faces. He better be all right.

“Wake up Yusuke!” Kuwabara shouted, breaking the long silence, his eyes wide with fear. “Let's go home!”

"I'm sorry, “ Kurama shook his head slowly. “He's expended all of his body energy. His heart is stopping." Kurama said sadly.

I looked at Yusuke with tears in my eyes, why? Why would he have to die, he was so young! My eyes suddenly narrowed, and the tears vanished, I wasn’t going to give up on him. I won't let another person I care about die while I can stop it! “Then I'll give him some of mine.” I said, my tone serious.

"That wouldn't be very wise, you've wasted a lot of your energy all ready. You using anymore could kill you." Kurama said, his eyes showing concern.

"I don't care, he's my friend, and I'll do anything to help him live." I said shaking my head, and I got on my knees next to him. I placed my hands gently on his chest, letting the remaining  bit of Energy go into Yusuke's body.  Soft blue light forming around his form, while I started to feel a bit drained, but I kept my hands on his chest. “Come on, Yusuke you better pull through, or I'll kill you.” I mumbled.

"Well I suppose we'll return to the living world carry two of them on our backs." Kurama said to Hiei with a small smile.

"Hey! I wanna carry Kira!" Kuwabara shouted, while I shot him a blank look, a sweat drop going down my head. Please don't let him carry me, I swear he had a crush on me and it's creepy...

"Sorry Kuwabara, but your still very weak from your fight with Byakko. I don't think you'll be able to stay standing much longer, you might hurt her." Kurama said with a sweat drop, but the small smile was still on his lips. Thank you, Kurama, you are my savior!

Hiei rolled his eyes. “Like I said, babysitting.” He said annoyed.

I got an irk mark, and slowly took my hands from Yusuke's body. I gave him enough, and his heart was beating again. I turned and gave Hiei a glare, weakly standing up and walking towards him, saying. “Shut up Hiei,” But as I kept going forward, my vision became foggy. “Or I'll kill..you too.” With those words, I felt my self pass out before I hit the cold floor.

Ending it here, I hope you like it!
