Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Right Here Waiting For You ❯ Chapter 22 ( Chapter 22 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
~Story Start~
Jin, being the cocky and awesome bastard he is, began to circle the stadium once again, the wind still wiping around us violently. I was watching with slight amazement at the fact that he was flying, well technically anyway, something that no youkai could do. However, Yusuke's expression was the complete opposite of mine, and that was for obvious reasons. Having been punched in the face and sent across the ring, I don't think I would be too happy either. He was watching the Wind Master with a narrowed gaze, trying to find a way to land a punch on him. And when Jin suddenly changed directions back towards the young Spirit Detective, that's when I knew he had a plan, the look in his eyes said it all. He twisted his body once again, but this time he was aiming a punch instead of a kick. Stepping into a more balanced position, Yusuke began to throw his punch at Jin, only to be punched in the jaw like he was before. I winced at the sound that echoed thanks to the impact of the hit. Yusuke was sent off balance, his body tilted to the side as his head went in the direction the punch went. I was half expecting Yusuke to fly like he did before, but he stayed standing, albeit on one leg.
“How about a trade?!” Yusuke suddenly shouted, turning back to Jin.
Yusuke sent the one leg that was in the air towards Jin's face, only to have the red head to duck, his eyes wide. From the force that Yusuke put into the kick, and without anything to stop it, he sent himself flying across the stadium, slamming into the ground and rolling quite painfully towards the edge. I sweat dropped at that, face-palming myself in the head at that strategy. Sure I practically did the same thing with Kenta -the allowing to let myself be hit to hit the enemy part-, but Yusuke should have learned that my way is never good. And now he's laying on the ring ground, withering in slight pain thanks to the punch to his jaw and the hard landing he took. Jin slowly lowered himself a few feet above the ring, staring at Yusuke with a surprised look on his face, unable to believe that Yusuke would do something like that.
“Yusuke makes a valiant attempt, but he proves unable to compete with Jin's swift aerial attack.” Koto announced, a smile on her lips as the microphone rose to her lips.
“Well he is at a pretty big disadvantage.” I mumbled to myself, an irk mark pulsing.
I stopped my annoyed look, and Jin stopped his surprised one, when we heard a grunt come from Yusuke's form. He was slowly lifting himself off the ground, his arms shaking slightly from the pain, but he managed to get himself to his hands and knees. I could now see his face, a line of blood falling from the corner of his lips and a huge red mark on his cheek from where Jin punched him. “I admit that one didn't have much of a chance, nice punch though, this is gonna be fun!” Yusuke complimented, giving Jin a smirk, making me sigh.
“Yusuke's elbow and kick combination came from an almost impossible stance nearly unheard of in martial arts schools, I can't imagine any master teaching him that one.” Koto announced, eyes locked on the two.
Jin closed his eyes, chuckling. “We're a pair in a pod Urameshi, never wanting to do anything the way people tell us to. Even if we don't make sense,” Jin touched his ear, making it spring up and down at his touch, “better to be messy on your own then right under someone's watch, am I right?” He asked, looking at Yusuke with a smile.
“Well yeah, why let some teacher get the credit?” Yusuke wiped off the blood that fell from his lips and his cheek, letting out a chuckle of his own. “Heh, I figure I've been doing all right on my own so far.” He smirked up at the red head.
Ignoring the sounds of the youkai above Kurama and I, I couldn’t help but smile up at the two. Why couldn't fights be more like this one? Jin and Yusuke are pretty much having a good time, like they were hanging out like a bunch of friends. Every other match here has been to kill the other just so they could win the prize of the Tournament. Not to mention I keep getting fighters who are complete and utter assholes that make me want to slam my head into the wall. Why can't I be like Yusuke and get the awesome fighters like Chu and Jin? They were both so cool and they were nice as hell! Some day, I'm going up to where ever the hell those guys are and I'm going to kick all of their asses and make them give me a break! I swear everything hates me!
“What in the world are they talking about up there? They're both smiling!” Botan said, eyes wide as she held Kuwabara's head in her lap. I couldn't blame her for not hearing them, seeing as how us youkai have better hearing then her, but I still couldn’t help but sweat drop.
Kuwabara chuckled, although weakly. “I think Urameshi's finally found someone he can complain with.” Botan looked down at him, slightly surprised by his choice of words. “He's been a loner for about as long as I've known him, and Keiko's the only one who can talk to him, and I'll be darned if I understand that relationship. But this Jin guy is just the same, like a twin.” He said with a smirk on his lips.
I smiled at the two again. “You're right, they get along so well even though they just met. Maybe they are twins and they just don't know it.” I joked slightly.
“Hm, well that will make fighting with him difficult.” Botan said, frowning, but that quickly turned to concern when we all heard the sound of Kurama laughing, although she thought he was in pain. “What's wrong Kurama, are you all right?” She asked, looking at him worriedly.
I shook my head. “He's fine.” I said, I made sure of it.
“Just laughing, it seems you don't know brothers very well, Botan.” Kurama said weakly, but the smile was still strong on his lips.
Botan gave him a skeptical look, but turned back towards the ring. Doing the same, my eyes instantly went to Jin. His Energy went down only slightly, and he let himself touch back down onto the ground a few feet in front of Yusuke. “Let me show you something I picked up, without the help of bosses flappin' their gums.” He said with a smirk on his lips, eyes lighting with excitement.
Rolling his right shoulder back and forth, Jin got into a stance, almost like a small squat. Moving his right arm in a circle, it began to go faster and faster until wind began to swirl around it like a mini tornado. Our eyes all widened at the sight of it, feeling the Spirit Energy coming off of it. Wind began to pick up once again, making me hold my hair down as I watched with amazement. The dust that littered the ring floor filled the air, becoming visible as they swirled around in circles or just dissipating into thin air from the strong gusts of wind. Yusuke was narrowing his eyes, although I could tell that he was growing excited as well with the new technique being presented in front of him.
“Wow, is that what I think it- yes! Jin has actually creating a miniature twister around his entire right arm! The wind is tremendous!” Koto shouted, holding her hand to her hair as she tried to see through the dust blowing all around her.
Yusuke was holding up his arms in front of his face, eyes narrowed into a squint as the dust was beginning to blow into his eyes, the wind becoming stronger as each second passed. I narrowed my eyes in slight annoyance at that, but this was going to make the match more interesting I guess, so I couldn't really complain about that, now could I? Didn't think so, but I will still do it because I just love to complain, it's just who I am :D. Although some people don't like that, like a certain fire youkai who electrocuted himself in the last chapter, and I think it had to do with me. I just don't know why, but I'm pretty sure it was because of me. Good going me -__-.
“This is one of my favorites!” Jin smirked almost wickedly, but it wasn't evil. “Tornado Fists' the name!” He stated, a chuckle falling from his lips as he rose his arm, his fist poking out of the tornado.
“Could be bad for Yusuke, that attack Jin is using is much more powerful than it appears.” The Masked Fighter spoke, and Hiei only nodded mutely, eyes fixated on the match. I looked at the both of them out of the corner of my eye, and I couldn’t help but frown, that didn't sit very well with me.
“So you ready?” Jin asked with a wide smile, laughing slightly.
Yusuke didn't reply, only got into a fighting stance as he narrowed his eyes, waiting for the attack. Jin took that as a sign of yes and ran forward, smiling and laughing as he rose his fist. As he drew closer though, Yusuke's eyes widened as Jin threw the punch and everything began to go in slow motion, as everything often does sometimes. ...Was that a contradiction? Anyway, Yusuke took a step back, and twisted his body to the right. Jin's fist kept going in the same direction, and Jin didn't seem worried that his attack just missed. And I understood why a second later when Yusuke suddenly lifted off his feet, flopping around like a piece of paper as a ball of wind pretty much formed around him. My eyes widened as he was soaring towards the wall that separated he ring from the crowd.
“Looks like Yusuke's got a date with the cement!” Koto smiled widely, and that made me frown. But I let out a sigh of relief when Yusuke's feet landed on the wall and his hand gripped the edge, keeping him from fall and from hitting it head on like he was going to before.
“Go Yusuke!” I shouted, pumping my fist in the air, laughing as he let out a sigh of relief.
“Nicely played, he's clung like a fly on the wall, but I don't suspect he'll stay there for long, here comes Jin for a second helping!” Koto announced, making all of us turn back towards the ring.
Koto was right, Jin was heading towards Yusuke's form at a high speed, another Tornado Fist on his right arm. He had that same smirk on his face, and I swallowed thickly, that thing was strong just like the Masked Fighter said it was, and the look on Yusuke's face told me he was thinking the same thing. Letting out a shout of surprise, Yusuke jumped out of the way, just seconds before Jin's fist collided with the wall he had clung to. Deep cracks instantly littered the wall before it blew up into pieces, sending rocks and youkai alike into the air. I watched them fly into the air, their screams drowned out by the explosion, and I was so glad that we were on the other side of the ring. I would have gotten them out of the way, or at least I hoped I would have...
“I love it! There's the audience participation that makes the Dark Tournament so special. I imagine any of you who survived that attack will remember it for years to come.” Koto said happily, looking at the huge empty section of rows in front of her.
“Audience participation?!” Botan narrowed her eyes on Koto. “I hate that girl!” She growled angrily.
I nodded. “Yeah, she's pretty annoying, I hope they get a knew announcer.” I said, a frown on my lips. What? Even if I don't shout at her or roll my eyes at what she's saying doesn't mean I don't like her. I've been very creeped out and annoyed by the fact that she finds this Tournament so great and is completely bubbly to a point where I want to puke.
“This is bad.” Kuwabara spoke up, making all of us turn to him, seeing the serious look on his face. “It doesn't matter how strong Urameshi is, or how much fun he's having, if Jin hits him straight on with that Tornado Fist, it's over with.” He said, and I frowned.
“Don't try to sound too worried there Kuwabara.” I mumbled, making Kurama chuckle slightly.
I turned to him, seeing him smile gently at me. Aw best-est friend :D. “Don't be too worried Kira, Yusuke will be fine. He's gotten out of worse situations than this.” He stated, his voice coated in slight pain.
“I hope you're right.” I said, giving him a weak smile back.
“Stupid.” Yusuke's voice suddenly said -or mumbled- from the ring, making all of us turn back to the fight.
Yusuke had his eyes narrowed, wiping away the dust that happened to get in his eyes. But that dropped as he let out a gasp, eyes wide. He was staring at the cloud of dust from Jin's explosion, and I followed his gaze. The dust cleared slowly, and standing -or floating- just above a huge whole in the stands was none other than Jin. He was smiling widely, a happy laugh spilling from his lips again as he stared at Yusuke. I was now really starting to wonder if he was actually excited or he was going insane, I still thought he was awesome, but he made me wonder sometimes...
“Long time since I could fight somebody and actually have some jeer about it, ya know?” Jin asked.
Yusuke smirked. “I think I do.” He said.
With another smirk from Jin, he flew from his spot above the crater he created and touched back down at the center of the ring. Yusuke watched him for a second before following the Wind Master, realizing that he was out of the ring. Seeing as how Koto sucks at her job, she didn't even start counting, so it wasn't like he was going to be counted out at all. Landing at the center of the ring, but a few feet away from Jin, Yusuke stared at the red head with a narrowed gaze, but a smirk on his lips as well. It really was like watching two brothers fighting, although I've never really seen one, but it's pretty easy to visualize with these guys being an example.
“There, both fighters are back in the ring and are ready for some fresh new injuries!” Koto announced.
Jin and Yusuke were in another stare off, but before I could even think about complaining, Jin let a smirk fall on his lips. He rose his arm, and I could already tell what he was going to do, it's not like it was that hard to understand anyways. Rolling his right arm forward, he was beginning to pick up speed, but Yusuke suddenly kicked off into a run, raising a fist. I blinked in surprise not seeing that coming, but it was better than just standing there to get hit. Granted I would have done that because I'm not that good a thinking of strategies, but you get what I mean.
“Not this time pal!” Yusuke shouted.
Jin's eyes widened, surprised as well from the sudden attack. And before he could make another Tornado Fist, he had to drop his arm, having to catch all the rapid punches that Yusuke was throwing. My eyes darted from each fighter, watching as Yusuke punched and Jin blocked. Jin was staring wide eyed, having to back away form the surprisingly fast ningen. Jumping away, Jin tried to get as much distance as he could, but Yusuke thought ahead and appeared behind him. Eyes widening even more, Jin jumped away and blocked the punches Yusuke sent once again. I had to blink a couple of times, having lost count of all the punches that Yusuke threw at Jin's crossed arms. Too much was happening, Jin and Yusuke moving, blocking and punching all around the ring, I couldn't concentrate.
“And they're charging up, its becoming too fast to see!” Koto ran towards the edge of the ring, trying to get away from the fighters that she couldn’t see anymore. “But then I guess people in the audience are use to that by now.” She said, eyes darting around the ring.
“Kuwabara, you can follow their movements, right?” Botan asked, looking down at Kuwabara as he straightened himself up into a sitting position, or at least he tried to I mean.
Kuwabara turned to her, eyes wide with surprise for a second. “Me? Uh, yeah I'm spiritually aware.” He said.
“Good, you can inform me.” Botan said, looking back at the fight.
“Eh...you mean right now?” I smirked slightly as I watched Kuwabara look back at the ring as well. I could tell that even with his training from Hiei and Kurama, he still couldn't keep up with our speed that well. I could already see the blank and confused expression on his face. “Uh...they're just...they're both punching each other very rapidly.” He said slowly after a while, making me hold in my laughter.
“That's very perceptive.” Botan said sarcastically, staring at him blankly.
Kuwabara smiled widely. “Thank you!”
I finally let out a laugh making all three, or five if you want, to look at me with sweat drops. “Y-You're su-such an idiot Kuwa-Kuwabara!” I managed to say threw my laughter, holding my sides. Kuwabara sent me a look and I calmed down. “Aw, I'm not being mean like Hiei, I mean it as a good thing.” I smiled brightly, although I giggled once again, much to his annoyance.
{At least one of us finds his idiocy amusing.} Hiei said in my mind.
I slowly stopped my laughter, trying to make it casual as I could. *He's not really dumb...he just likes to say things that aren't smart sometimes.* I thought, trying to find to think of someway to defend Kuwabara, he is my friend after all.
{So, he's a baka.} Hiei said bluntly.
I got a blank look on my face and side glanced in Hiei's direction, resisting the urge to roll my eyes. *You're such a jerk sometimes, but I wouldn't have you any other way!* I thought brightly, trying to keep the smile off my face. It was true though, I bet none of you would have him any other way as well.
Hiei scoffed lightly. {I'm sure.}
*It's true! If you weren't a jerk I wouldn't have anyone to argue with, and then I would slowly go insane.* I defended myself, my 'words' stretched at the last part like GIR from Invader Zim (I don't own him, but I wish I did.)
{At times like these, I really do question your sanity, Onna.} Hiei sweat dropped.
Another blank look. *Shut up.*
I looked back at the fight before me, although I didn't miss much. Jin and Yusuke were still running around the ring, Yusuke punching and Jin blocking. Although that only meant that Jin was still having the upper hand when it came down to it. He was still a lot faster than Yusuke was, and if Yusuke some how doesn't find a way around that, he's going to lose. I didn't like the thought of that, but I had to be realistic, especially when it came down to the threat that Toguro made two months ago. I narrowed my eyes, letting them catch all of Yusuke's punches once again. And I'm glad I did, seeing as I saw Yusuke finally land a punch. His fist slamming into Jin's gut, making the impact echo around the stadium loudly, and Jin's eyes widened with both surprise and pain. From the force, Jin went back a bit, holding his stomach in pain.
“Here's my chance!” Yusuke shouted, throwing another punch. However, Jin's power over wind helped him avoid the attack, letting him fly into the air, making Yusuke miss and almost lose his balance at the sudden move. Yusuke caught himself and he looked up annoyed. “And there's my chance going airborne dammit!” He growled annoyed, making me laugh slightly at how he said that.
"Jin's been hit hard, taking refuge in the air until his squashed diaphragm can recover.” Koto announced.
Botan suddenly got up from her seat on the ground, moving around Kuwabara as she stomped over to the ring. Glaring up at the fox/cat youkai, she slammed her fist on the ring floor. “Listen Miss Koto, why don't you stop sadist routine and do your job?!” She demanded angrily.
Koto stared at her with a 'oh no you didn't' look. “Excuse me?” She asked.
“Jin's been out of the ring for half of the fight, did it ever cross your mind to count to ten?!” Botan asked/demanded, pointing up at Jin as she continued to glare.
Koto closed her eyes, raising her pointer finger towards the air. “Article 4: Fighters are outside the ring when any part of their body comes in contact with any solid surface other than the ring itself, and air is not solid.” A smug smile was on Koto's lips now, it only widening when Botan stared at her and gasped in shock. I could already tell after this I was so going to be a bitch to Koto. “Stick to what you're good at honey, like dying your hair un-natural colors for instance.” She said snootily, yep that did it.
“Hey, she actually doesn't stand around doing absolutely nothing, unlike a certain cat that needs to learn how to shut the fuck up.” I snapped, glaring at her, while she glared at me, but said nothing. “Oh got nothing to say to that now, huh? In your face bitch!” I laughed, what? She insulted my friend!
Botan smiled at me. “Thank you Kira, but I swear I'm going to get her.” She said, frowning once again.
“And I'll be there to laugh when that happens.” I smiled.
“Hey!” Kuwabara suddenly spoke up, a glare in his eyes and anger in his voice. “What is this?! How's Urameshi suppose to have a fair fight if Jin can run where ever he wants?!” He asked, glaring up at the red head above the ring.
I would have done the same, if I didn't think he was cool. He was still holding his stomach from the wound that Yusuke gave him earlier and I couldn't help but let out a smile, Yusuke may not be a fast as Jin, but his punches sure make up for that. He made Jin have to sit out after only one hit, that's got to say something. Seeing a sudden blue light and a rise of familiar Spirit Energy, I looked at Yusuke, seeing him aiming his Spirit Gun at Jin's form. Jin was crossing his arms, his eyes closed, and I guess Yusuke wasn't going to be giving him a break at all any time soon. And as mean as it sounds, I almost started to laugh when I heard Jin's shout of surprise when he saw the bullet fly at him.
“Hey!” Kuwabara shouted with a smile.
Botan clenched her fist, smiling as well. “Bingo!” She added happily.
Jin was staring at the ball of blue Spirit Energy with wide, fear filled eyes. Even if he was being completely serious, I couldn't help but laugh, his facial expressions were comical sometimes. He was flailing his arms around, looking left and right for a few brief seconds before looking back down, not sure of what to do. And at times like these, I always wonder why people don't just jump out of the way. I mean Jin can just easily dodge that because he was in the air, I could understand if he was on the ground and couldn’t fly, but I mean come on, use your head sometimes!
“Yes, in that stuttering off-guard position, will Jin be able to move back in time? Not too likely!” Koto shouted, and I resisted the urge to glare at her.
“That's right, I'm cool.” Yusuke smirked.
I sweat dropped at the that, but kept my comments to myself, wanting Yusuke to have his moment. But my eyes widened when Jin stopped shouting in fear and a smirk fell on his lips. “Always underestimating the wind.” He said, his smirk widening.
Jin brought his hands in front of him, wind suddenly appearing around him as he swung them in a pushing motion. Jin suddenly begin to move around in a circle, the wind picking up around his body and forming into a huge tornado, blocking him off from the Spirit Gun bullet, none of us able to see him anymore. The bullet connected with the huge tornado, resulting in a huge bright light that made all of us -except Hiei and the Masked Fighter- stare wide eyed at how wind could stop Yusuke's most powerful attack with ease. And we all watched as the bullet flew off, away from Jin and from Hanging Neck Island, our eyes still wide with shock.
“Hey, I needed that!” Yusuke shouted, watching the bullet fade out of sight.
The wind around Jin slowed, the huge white wisps disappearing into thin air once again. Putting a hand to his chest and closing his eyes, he smiled. “Real heart pounder that one was.” He said, his blue eyes closing as he breathed out a sigh of relief.
“Did we get that one on video? Please tell me we got that on video! Jin just used a wall of wind to turn Yusuke's blast into a space cadet!” Koto announced in awe.
Jin lowered himself closer to the ring, but not nearly low enough to touch the ground. The smile on his lips grew as he let chuckles pass through them. “Don't get all big eyed any attack has to travel through air to get to me, right? I control the air so you might as well hand them over and say, 'Do whatever you want with 'em, Jin!'” He was laughing out loud this time, throwing his head back. “Do whatever you want with 'em, Jin!” He repeated, finding it completely hilarious, leaving Yusuke to glare up at him annoyed.
The annoyed look only grew bigger as the crowd began to cheer loudly, easily drowning out Jin's laughter. They were all yelling their happiness about Yusuke's attacks being useless, how he was going to be put in his place, and if Yusuke lost then our whole team would lose as well. I was growing pretty annoyed with that as well, and I was throwing glares up at the youkai that were standing above Kurama and I, their loud voices grating against my ears sharply. They were grinning sadistically, beady black eyes glinting evilly at the thought of our team finally losing, while I, on the other hand, was not. It took everything I had to keep form blowing up the whole section above me, an irk mark pulsing on my temple as their shouts only got louder with each passing second. Win Yusuke, just so they can be pissed.
“So Yusuke can't use his long range attacks because Jin will reflect them with wind?” Botan's worried and confused sounding voice asked, breaking me from my annoyed thoughts. I turned to her, seeing her looking up at Yusuke.
Kuwabara's eyes narrowed. “Yeah, the Spirit Gun is pretty much a waste of time.” He rose a clenched fist and a smirk came onto his lips, making me stare at him blankly, he just doesn't see how life threatening this match is, does he? Bye the look on his face, I was pretty sure that he didn't, and that was kind of scaring me, and pissing me off. “He'll have to stick to the old fist fighting action.” He said with a chuckle.
“But every time Yusuke gets close enough for a final punch, Jin flies away!” Botan turned to him, hand on her hip, her tone becoming frustrated.
Kuwabara began to grow a little scared, slowly seeing the anger seep into Botan's face. I could see that too and I was beginning to fidget slightly, she is very scary when she's angry. “Well that is true.” He mumbled out, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple.
Botan stomped towards him, eyes narrowing. “So, how in the flip is he suppose to hit him?!” She demanded, glaring at him heatedly, a growl emitting from her throat as she clenched her fists tightly.
“I don't know Botan, don't yell at me!” Kuwabara said, wide eyed.
“Yeah calm down, Yusuke will find a way to get Jin, he always comes through for us. ...Even though his strategies have been a little stupid and almost always involve getting himself killed...” I trailed off, laughing nervously as Botan threw her glare at me, looking as if she was going to kill me. Causing me to instantly quiet down, fearing for my life.
“This isn't funny Kira.” She snapped.
I threw her a look, although that melted away when her's flared. “Just stating the truth.” My eyes suddenly widened, making Kurama, Kuwabara and Botan -surprisingly- stare at me with raised eyebrows. “Oh my god...I just sounded like Hiei!” I moaned with anime tears flying down my cheeks, making everyone sweat drop.
Away from us and to our rights, the lightning of the force field Ruka put up crackled around Hiei and the Masked Fighter. Hiei was keeping himself from walking into the barrier once again, his sharp ears letting him hear what I had said. Although, that did hurt when he walked into it not that long ago, maybe he'll just knock himself unconscious without really physically harming himself... Yeah that sounded like a good plan...
“The Spirit Gun should not be completely useless against Jin, there is one way to get pass his defenses, but it will not be exactly safe.” The Masked Fighter spoke up, staring at the two fighters, knocking the fire youkai out of his thoughts.
Hiei refocused and nodded. “Don't have to worry about Yusuke being afraid at least, risking his life is the only constant strategy he has.” He said monotonously, his eyes were narrowed on the young Spirit Detective.
Finally calming down from my depressed state that occurred just moments before, I looked back at the ring. Jin had finally stopped laughing now, much to Yusuke's relief, saving his pride -or what was left of it...- as well. However, the red haired Wind Master still held a smirk -or smile I really can't tell with him sometimes-, and that made me a little nervous. What Botan said was true, Jin was able to block one of Yusuke's most powerful attacks easily and he had a great advantage by being able to 'fly'. I grew a bit worried, bringing my knees to my chin, my arms wrapped securely around my legs. I really hope this match ends soon and we can just go home. Unless anymore assholes in the Committee make us stay to fight ANOTHER fucking match. ...Bunch of bullshit is what it is.
“Been a blast playing defender, but I think I'll get on with my attack.” Jin's thick Irish accented voice spoke up, making my eyes dart to him instantly.
Jin's smile grew wide as began to spin it around once again, it beginning to pick up speed. I narrowed my eyes at him, seeing his arm starting to blur together, and the air beginning to turn into white wisps, the air around him growing stronger with each passing second. I strengthened my grip on my legs, not liking the feel of this next attack at all. Especially as more Spirit Energy was being fed to the slowly forming Tornado Fist.
“Here we go Jin's winding for another smashing Tornado Fist, but this time he's doing while still in mid-air.” Koto announced, blinking in surprise.
The large tornado of white wisps of wind finally formed around Jin's arms, the force of the wind making the red head's hair flip wildly around. “Hope you're thinkin' quick, Urameshi!” Jin said, holding his Tornado Fist towards the young Spirit Detective.
Flipping backwards, Jin let out a laugh and went head on towards Yusuke, Tornado Fist ready. “Jin's on the move, he's heading straight for Yusuke!” Her eyes, as well as ours, went to the form of the young ningen, seeing him still standing completely motionless, not looking prepared to dodge at all. “Huh? And yet the Spirit Detective is refusing to back down.” Jin was closing in, and Yusuke still stood his ground. “He's not even guarding himself, has he gone berserk?!” She asked, eyes wide.
“Don’t be stupid Yusuke!” Keiko shouted worriedly from the stands.
My arms were now at holding onto the wall behind me, and I shakily got to my feet, stupid nervous break downs! “Yusuke listen to her, are you trying to get yourself killed?!' I shouted as well, my mouth dropping open in shock.
Botan was staring in shock, no words able to form while Kuwabara crawled forward slightly. “What is he doing?!” He asked, a look of disbelief on his face.
“Now I understand.” Hiei mumbled, his eyes locked on the battle.
My ears picked up his quiet voice, and I turned to him with a confused look. “Understand what? That's he's being an idiot right now? Cause I think we all know that.” I said, my worry for Yusuke getting the better of me.
Hiei glanced at my slightly tired, shaking form. “Just sit and watch, Onna.” He said.
I did only half of what he instructed and turned my head to the ring once again. Jin's form heading like a speeding bullet towards my friend. Speaking of my friend, Yusuke didn't move a muscle, his eyes set in a serious and narrowed gaze at the youkai in front of him. However, the fear only subsided slightly when I saw the familiar smirk light Yusuke's face, I wasn't totally sure if it was a good thing, but I hoped it was. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Yusuke rose his hands, his right one forming into the same, infamous gun shape, his left holding it steady towards Jin's oncoming form. My eyes widened, as well as Jin's and probably everyone else -besides Hiei and the Masked Fighter of course-.
“Hold on, don't be crazy!” Jin shouted, eyes widening as he drew closer.
“So,” the voice belonging to Hiei. “If he fires his attack point blank into Jin's Tornado-”
“-the energy will be caught in the wind current as it ignites, causing the explosion to surround them both.” The Masked Fighter finished calmly, while my mouth was about to fall off and my eyes about to pop out of my head, having listened to their explanation.
“Is he trying to kill himself?!” I asked, almost letting my hands go to my head, but I would fall if I did.
Yusuke smirked, not even listening to my outburst. “Lets see who can take a bigger ass kicking!” He shouted.
“Apparently yes.” I groaned.
The familiar blue Spirit Energy formed around Yusuke's index finger, and I turned away from my sulking moment. The ball of blue Energy began to grow bigger, it rippling and spiking as more of it's user's Spirit Energy began to go into it, and I could tell that if it was a point blank hit, one of them was going to die for sure. There was so much that it almost rendered me to fall to my knees, but I kept standing, not about to miss this. Even if Yusuke could be hurt, that didn't mean that I wasn't going to watch. Mean, maybe, but you know what, get off me! My eyes glued to Jin and Yusuke's forms as Jin was now only inches away from the young Spirit Detective.
“Spirit Gun!”
A huge sphere of blue Spirit Energy formed, enclosing the two forms inside, while everyone outside was blinded by the source of light. Clouds of dust and dirt from the ring lifted and whipped around violently, and despite the dust and bright blue light, I watched all the way through. Especially as the sphere burst, the Energy shooting out of the stadium and high into the air. It was a good thing I was against the wall through, the force of the attack sent many people flying backwards, Botan and Kuwabara being a slight example, and Koto doing the same. Shouts came from behind me, the youkai all holding onto the railings for dear life. The only people not really affected were Kurama, Hiei, The Masked Fighter, Ruka and I. And as the light dimmed and the strong winds subsided, I turned to my right, seeing something that made my eyes widen slightly.
Koto let out a groan, crawling back into the ring. Rubbing her back as she stood up, her eyes roamed around the ring and she let out a gasp. “Oh my people, both fighters have been obliterated in the explosion, nothing is left of their bodies. Not even a pile of ashes.” She said.
My eyes didn't leave Yusuke's form at all, seeing him laying near the Medical Tent, his eyes closed tightly from the pain. “Oh hell.” He grunted, trying to sit up, albeit slowly.
“Wait, I stand corrected, Yusuke Urameshi has survived! Only Jin's been incinerated!” Koto look around in the air, and when she saw a familiar figure floating in the air, she let out another gasp. “Never mind again, Jin is alive and looking quiet perturbed!” She announced.
Koto was right about the whole perturbed thing, Jin's eyes were wide as he stared down at Yusuke's form that was now standing firmly on the ground. “I thought I was crazy Urameshi, but you take the prize! The hell was that?! You don't make bombs go boom in your face!” He shouted shocked, and I almost let out a laugh, Jin is amazing! (A/N: I love that line :D)
“Dammit, at least one of us should have died!” Yusuke shouted angrily, glaring with a clenched fist.
I sighed in relief, as my legs gave out beneath me. Told you.
Hiei turned to Yusuke, eyes serious and narrowed. “He's no amateur opponent.” He stated.
Yusuke glanced at Hiei before turning his glare back onto Jin, his fist still clenched tightly. “I'm not sayin' he is, but that was a clean shot!” He growled out, annoyed.
“Yes, but Jin saw your strategy in the last moment, and took evasive action. Rather than guard himself, he tilted the air stream sending most of the blast upward, probably saving both your lives.” Hiei explained, making me turn to him a bit surprised, how the fuck did he see that in such a short amount of time?! I could hardly see a thing with all that light!
“So he's funny and smart, that hardly seems fair.” Yusuke said, and I wasn't sure if it was sarcastic or not.
Hiei ignored that, his gaze still on the young Spirit Detective's form. “As a Shinobi, he has much experience, a simple trick isn't going to beat him. I hope you have more extensive plans.” He said.
I gave Hiei a smirk. *Aw, Hiei I knew you cared about our team.* I cooed in my head teasingly.
{Shut up, Onna.} Hiei rolled his eyes.
Before I could say anything back, we both heard Yusuke laugh slightly, causing us to turn towards him. We were kind of surprised to see him actually laughing at this point. “Aw come on, it's Yusuke here, I don't have a clue!” He smiled widely, eyes closed, while I sweat dropped at him.
“You might not be so proud after you're defeated.” Hiei said annoyed.
Yusuke smirked, clenching his fist again. “Shut up, something always comes to me at the end.” He said, and even though what he said was stupid, it was completely true, especially after all the youkai he's defeated.
“Well yes, even a fool has to admit a certain truth to that, Yusuke. So go ahead and be as reckless as you want to.” There was an actual -small- chuckle in Hiei's voice as he closed his eyes, looking down as he smirked. However, before I could gape at that, I saw Hiei open his eyes and turn emotionless once again. “If you do get killed, I'll be taking your spot in the next fight anyway.” He said, glancing at the Spirit Detective.
I got a blank look, getting a sweat drop. *I take back what I said, you're such a jerk* I said with a sigh.
{But apparently you wouldn't have me any other way.} Hiei said, his tone blank and slightly sarcastic, as if mocking me. I threw him a look out my peripheral vision, but decided to just annoy him so more.
*That's true!* I 'chirped happily'. I don't chirp.
Hiei decided to ignore that, although I could plainly see that my tone of voice grated on his mind's 'ears', making him resist the urge to glare at me in annoyance. However, before I could do anymore, Yusuke turned to Hiei, a narrowed look in his eyes. “What?” He mumbled.
“Please, even if you could escape me, it's illegal to return after you've been ruled unfit to fight.” Ruka said, staring at Hiei with an annoyed look of her own.
Hiei chuckled darkly at that. “Illegal? Listen Ruka, my power has nearly returned and I'm going fight. And anyone who says otherwise- well I think you know the rest.” He said with ice lacing his words, but what scared Ruka was more than just that. It was the black Spirit Energy that was forming around Hiei, and the smirk that told everyone that he meant what he said.
I threw a glare in Hiei's direction, however, very annoyed by one thing. He fucking called that whore by her name, why doesn't he call me by mine?! Fucking hell, I really want to punch that guy sometimes!
“You truly have a way with women, Hiei.” The Masked Fighter said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes, arms crossing over my chest as I kept the glare on, but it was moved towards the ring. “Trust me, he's gets a lot worse than he is right now.” I said, and Hiei ignored me. What else is new?
Yusuke let out a sigh as he lowered himself into a squatting position, and closed his eyes, hearing Koto's voice. “4!...5!...6!...7!” On the count of seven Yusuke jumped into the ring, straightening himself up as he smirked at Jin's form above the ring. “After seven counts, Yusuke returns to the ring!” She announced.
“Don't get too excited Hiei, I'm taking on their leader just as soon as I beat down Jin.” Yusuke said with a cocky smirk on his lips, making me sigh.
“Oh, just as soon as ya beat Jin, ya say?” Jin smirked down at Yusuke for his choice of words, his eyes closed. “Better pitch yourself quick then, last time I remember it was you running around on the floor trying to stay up.” He said, his smirk turning into a smile once again.
Yusuke let out a chuckle. “Yeah, but this time I thought I'd try.” He said, the smirk only widening.
“Funny man, Urameshi, then I'll try as well!” Jin laughed.
Koto lowered her hand. “Fight!”
Jin wasted no time after hearing Koto's shout to start the fight once again. His right arm, once again, began to roll around as he spread it out his arm. However, this time something was different, and as I looked back at the ring towards Jin, my eyes widened. Jin's left arm was doing the same thing, and before any of us knew it, there were two Tornado Fists covering Jin's arms. Jin only smirked and let out a little tune as he hummed happily. Although none of us were in the mood to hum like Jin was. Yusuke's expression was the same as mine, his eyes wide as he let out a small gasp of surprise. I swallowed thickly, Yusuke had a hard time fighting against Jin when he had only one, but two was going to be fucking impossible! God dammit, what else can go wrong?!
“Don't guess the finger bomb can handle two of these daly's at once!” Jin said with a smile.
Koto's eyes shimmered with excitement at the recent development. “Ooh baby, two Tornado Fists buckled on at once! I think we've got a challenge!” She said happily.
My eyes widened at that, and I could tell that Yusuke was having a bad feeling about this. The look that was on his face was clear enough, the narrowed eyes, the clenched teeth and his stance just screamed that he knew he wouldn't have an easy time with this. I clenched my hands tightly around my knees, not even caring if my skin was beginning to hurt slightly from the pressure I was giving it. I was more worried about Yusuke then my stupid forming bruises on my knees and neck. ...Great, I forgot about those gain, dammit me!
Botan clenched her fists as well, eyes worried. “Yusuke's having enough trouble as it is with just one tornado!” She said, her tone matching her expression.
“Yeah, we better hope that he's feeling creative!” Kuwabara agreed, eyes narrowed.
I groaned slightly. “I really hope this ends well.” I mumbled.
“Yusuke won't be beaten so easily, I'm sure he'll think of something.” Kurama said as turned to me, still clutching his arm, his voice getting a bit stronger than it was before. And I only nodded mutely, hoping that Kurama was right about that, which he usually is.
*Come on Yusuke, you can do it.* I thought to myself softly.
I watched as Yusuke suddenly went into a stance, bringing his right leg backwards slightly as he brought his hands into a strange position. His left hand was over the right one, both slightly at his side as he turned his body. “Wait, now this is unexpected, Yusuke is taking a stance I've never seen him take before!” She shouted.
White Spirit Energy began to form around Yusuke's body, acting as a glowing outline. My eyes widened at the strength of his Energy, it even stronger than the huge Spirit Gun blast he shot earlier, although it wasn't as strong as The Masked Fighter's Energy, but it had the same effect as that attack did on me. I wasn't sure a ningen could hold so much Spirit Energy before, but I guess anything is possible. Especially seeing as how this boy can die and come back to life, and almost die and be completely fine afterward. Let's just hope that this attack and defeat Jin, mostly because I want to get to the hotel and do something before the bruises around my neck begin to show.
“Never seen Urameshi do that crazy stuff with his hands before.” Kuwabara's voice suddenly said, bringing me out of my concerned and awed thoughts.
Botan couldn't even nod. “Me neither.” She said, eyes wide.
“Have patience,” all three of us turned to Kurama, a small smile was on his lips. “He certainly has a history for surprises.” He said, and none of us could deny that, it was true.
All of us then turned back towards the ring, eyes on the red headed Wind Master when we heard him chuckle slightly. His blue eyes were alight with excitement, and I could see Jin's ears wiggling around, just like they were at the beginning of this match. “I can't be waitin' anymore! Let's play it!” He shouted, flying straight towards Yusuke once again, his right Tornado Fist ready to hit Yusuke head on.
Ending it here! Sorry that it took so long for me to get this one out, I was just having trouble getting homework done for at least four of my classes, but I'm free this weekend and I can make another one, I hope that will let you all forgive me D:! Bye!

Hiei scoffed lightly. {I'm sure.}
Bye!
