~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~
Kuwabara was now standing at the center of the ring, glaring at the purple haired pretty boy opposite him. Shishi, unfortunately, didn't seem at all fazed by the stare and was completely calm. I was narrowing my eyes at Shishi, not having a good feeling about this fight at all. I trusted Kuwabara, but he was still a ningen and it took a lot more for them to get so strong, which was saying something cause it takes a lot for youkai as well. I just hoped that Kuwabara wouldn't get too angry and lose his focus while fighting Shishi, but I could tell from the 'ugly' comment that was going to happen. I frowned at the red haired ningen before me, hoping that he would at least try. Despite the boys beside me, and their blank expressions, I could tell that they were thinking the same thing. Oh how I wished that THIS match was over, I can't take anymore scares today, but things just love to piss me off, now don't they? Yep. Especially those fucking fan-girls who wouldn't stop screaming!
Kuwabara sneered at the noise, and Shishi. “Well Shishi Wakamaru, those girls are really into you, too bad after I'm done with you you'll be 'Chop Suey' Wakamaru!” He said with a glare, and I just sighed at the oh so 'clever' name that Kuwabara gave him. Sometimes I wonder about him...-__-;
The whole stadium that was filled with the fan-girls erupted angrily with boos that the sound of that. I just shook my head, they really do disgrace my gender, Shishi is a fucking jerk and he isn't that attractive! Sure I say this because of obvious reasons, but the whole attitude is a definite hell no for me, at least Hiei isn't THAT arrogant! I swear those girls just like him because its lust no love, fucking annoying, thank god I'm not like them or I would gladly let someone punch me in the face until I came to my senses. Anyway, back to the fight...or the beginning of it...I think.
“No one wants to kiss you!” A fan-girl shouted, outraged like the rest.
“That's not true!” Kuwabara glared at the stands where the girl had shouted, and I was laughing loudly. “I gotta girl who wants to kiss me all day long and she's a lot cooler than you!” He shouted angrily back.
My laughter stopped when I saw Hiei grow rigid at Kuwabara's 'smart' choice of words, and I sweat dropped. “Hiei, calm down, you know that Yukina hasn't kissed him.” I said lowly for only him to hear, glancing at the fire youkai that was on my left.
Hiei relaxed slightly.
*Yet.*
Hiei threw me a glare, and I let out a snicker, obviously wanting him to hear that. Oh, I know I'm a terrible person, but I just love to tease him, it's fun! Kurama just sweat dropped at us, seeing the glare in Hiei's eyes and the evil smirk that was on my lips. He didn't know what had happened, but he didn't want to get involved, so he stepped away quietly. Aw, poor Kurama, sometimes I wonder if he fears for his safety when he's around me. ...It's a possibility now that I think about it...
“Lets get started, my defective friend, I've got fame to achieve.”Shishi said, breaking Hiei and I from our moment, and we looked to see the purple haired bastard smirking at Kuwabara cockily.
“Oh that is so it! You are totally going down!” Kuwabara shouted heatedly.
Kuwabara held out his right hand, a familiar orange looking orb of Energy appearing in his palm. Letting out a shout and the orange, flame like sword took shape, looking sharper than it any other time. I smirked, crossing my arms over my chest, Kuwabara has grown a lot stronger than when I first met him. Sure I was worried about him still, but I was impressed by his increase in Spirit Energy. I could tell that Kurama was, and Hiei -very deep down inside- was probably thinking the same thing. …Well I THINK he does, but whatever.
“We've got the fourth match! Shishi Wakamaru vs Kuwabara! And begin!” Juri announced.
Kuwabara didn't waste any time, grabbing his Spirit Sword tightly he raced towards Shishi's form. Shishi was still holding that see through cape around him, and he wasn't even moving as Kuwabara drew closer to him, making me narrow my eyes. I watched Kuwabara throw down his Spirit Sword, and saw the orange residue as it 'cut' Shishi down the middle. If that had actually cut Shishi in half, I would have been cheering my head off, but apparently things just love to piss me off even more, so I just stared on with an irk mark on my temple.
“Gotcha!” Kuwabara shouted with a smirk.
However, a second later the smirk disappeared instantly when Shishi smirked, disappearing as if he had never been there to begin with. Kuwabara's eyes widened in shock, his muscles tensing at the sight of the thin air in front of him now. And he tensed even more when he heard someone land behind him, I did as well. Fucking hell, Shishi was a lot faster than I thought he would be. Fear began to creep on me, and my eyes were locked on Kuwabara's form, but kept a wary eye on Shishi, wanting to warn Kuwabara before hand if anything should happen.
“Don't be ridiculous.” Shishi said with a chuckle in his voice, smirking at Kuwabara's attempt.
Kuwabara glared harder, his fist clenching tightly as he turned to face Shishi once again. Letting out an angry shout, he ran swiping his sword around angrily. I let out an annoyed sigh, already having that predicted since the beginning of this fucking chapter, but dammit it still pissed me off. Hiei crossed his arms, an annoyed look on his face as well, and I would have been happy that we agreed on something, but I was sort of annoyed right now. I watched with a narrowed gaze as Kuwabara was now in front of Shishi, and slashed down at him once again. However, just like before Shishi disappeared, making the ningen fly past him. Growling angrily, Kuwabara turned on his heel and cut away at Shishi, who just dodged them easily.
“And here's my brand of fighting, no tricks or troublesome fog, just an open neck and a sword!” Koto said with a bright smile as she slammed her hand down on the desk before her.
Kurama frowned. “Shishi can read his every maneuver.” He stated seriously.
I was now staring at Kuwabara with an irk mark on my temple. “Kuwabara! Calm down! You're gonna lose if you keep this up, and then I will be seriously pissed off! You can't let that fucking punk beat you, use the thing that's in your skull, god dammit!” I shouted/ranted, making Kurama and Hiei sweat drop at me.
Hiei let out a sigh, glancing at me. “You're distracting him, Onna.” He said.
“...Oh.” I blinked innocently, making Hiei stare at me blankly. “Sorry Kuwabara!” I shouted, sweat dropping.
Kuwabara, however, actually wasn't paying attention to me and my surprisingly loud shouts. He was swinging and slashing his sword around like maniac, his eyes set into a determined stare, but the glare was still strong in his eyes. Shishi was still dodging the attacks easily, like they were nothing, and that instantly made me serious once again. I watched with clenched fists, watching as Kuwabara slashed his sword down one last time at Shishi, who lept into the air. Everything seemed to go in slow motion, and we all watched Shishi land on Kuwabara's head, using his head as a pad to jump off of before he landed behind Kuwabara once again. Shishi let out a smirk as the fan-girls in the crowd shouted out happily, and he let out a 'hmph' as he turned back to Kuwabara's form. Kuwabara was staring at the ground with an irk mark on his temple, a pissed and embarrassed look on his face, considering I was laughing my ass off when I saw the foot print in his hair.
I was almost to my knees with laughter. “T-That wa-was awesome!” I managed to say, tears almost falling.
“That's it!” Kuwabara growled angrily, turning around to glare heatedly and dangerously at Shishi. That caused me to instantly stop my laughing, making the boys sweat drop. “My head is a trampoline is where I draw the line!” He shouted, clenching his teeth together.
Kuwabara regained his Spirit Sword and ran at Shishi once again, while Shishi continued to smirk as if this was funny, which it really wasn't. Growling at the look being thrown at him, Kuwabara slashed close to Shishi's face, but he dodged -again-. Almost losing his balance, Kuwabara clenched his teeth, not noticing the narrowed look that was coming to Shishi's face. However, I did see it, and I instantly got a very bad feeling about what was going to happen next. I only took my eyes off of him when Kuwabara was balanced again, slashing his Spirit Sword at Shishi's form, or at least tried to I mean. Shishi jumped away into the air, letting go of the see through cape, making Kuwabara stare at him with wide, confused and fear filled eyes.
The cape began to change colors, going from brown to green to blue and then it went back to being see through. It was circling in the air, coiling around without Shishi even needing to touch it at all. My eyes were narrowed and the fear for that thing was growing with each passing second, especially because it was going towards Kuwabara. And to make matters even worse than they already were, Kuwabara was apparently frozen in place, his Spirit Sword now gone. He was staring at the cape as it began to wrap around him, and I instantly knew that something bad was going to happen. ...For obvious reasons of course.
“Kuwabara move!” I shouted, fear filling my voice.
“Hey! Hey! What are you doing to me?!" Kuwabara suddenly began to disappear beneath the see through cape until all of us couldn't see him anymore. "I'm not ugly, ok?!” Was the last thing we heard before the cape fell to the ground motionless, and all the noises that were coming from Kuwabara had ceased. My eyes were wide and fear racked my body, what the hell did he do to him?!
“Nice last words.” Hiei said sarcastically.
I shot him a withering glare, smacking him in the arm. “Hiei! How can you be such a heartless bastard?!” I didn't even give Hiei time to say anything, and I looked back at the spot where Kuwabara had been, now scared. “Kuwabara could be...” I mumbled, my tone matching my face.
“I've lost all trace of him, its as if he ceased to exist.” Kurama said solemnly.
I quickly turned to Kurama, my eyes shining with fear and denial. “Are you sure? Shishi could be covering his Spirit Energy, right? ...Kuwabara isn't really dead...is he?” I asked softly, now scared.
Kurama hesitated. “I don't know Kira, we'll just have to wait.” He said gently.
I only nodded slightly, biting my lip out of nervousness, not noticing the look I was getting.
“Um whats the rule on this one?” Juri suddenly asked, drawing our attention to her. “He was in the ring, but now he's not! But that cloth he was in still is-!”
“He lost.” Juri stopped her confused talk, turning to Shishi. “Clearly, he's not in the ring, as to where he actually is I don't know or care. You'll have to ask the Cape of No Return for such trivial details. Somewhere in this world, or maybe the next, or maybe another dimension, I just know he's uncomfortable.” He said with a sadistic look on his face, that smirk making my blood boil.
“You bastard!” I snapped heatedly, my body shaking slightly with almost uncontrolled rage. “I swear when I get my hands on you, you're fucking dead!” I seethed out, my fingers about to reach my Katana.
Shishi smirked wider when he saw that. “I would love to see you try that, 'little' Akira.” He said back.
*Motherfucking bastard.* I growled to myself.
The familiar feeling in my head came again, telling me that it was Hiei so I waited. {Onna, calm down, you're only giving him what he wants.} He said, glancing at me out of his peripheral vision.
I let out a slow breath, my body done shaking. *All right. But if I fight him, don't expect me to be calm.*
Hiei only rolled his eyes.
Koto tapped the microphone, getting attention from everyone in the ring and in the stands. “Juri, we're waiting for a decision.” She said, his tone slightly impatient by the lack of results in the score department, and that made the mermaid-looking youkai get serious once again.
“Right.” Juri nodded. “Well, Kuwabara is indeed not in the ring and hasn't been for over ten counts. I say Shishi Wakamaru wins.” She said gesturing to the purple haired man.
The crowd erupted with cheers for the other team, finally getting a point of of the 'traitors' as they dubbed us. However, there were some boos, considering that there wasn't any blood or severed limbs that involved the victory. I would have smirked at the boos had it been for another reason, but considering they wanted us all dead I obviously wasn't too happy about it. Thankfully my anger had simmered down, but I was still worried about Kuwabara, not wanting him to be in another dimension, even if I could do the same thing as Shishi's Cape of No Return. I just hoped that he was still on Hanging Neck Island, or at least in Ningenkai so I knew that he was safe and not stuck in Makai or another world. Those people up there better not be fucking with me again...
“It looks like I'll have to entertain the youkai boys with this one.” Shishi said smirking, looking down at us.
He grabbed the pentagon shaped dies, and tossed them into the air. They crackled in the air, the boys and I watching them intently to see who would be fighting who. I hoped that it would be me vs Shishi just so I could cut the bastards head off, but I could obviously tell that wasn't going to happen. Nothing liked me, so why should they give me what I want now? Getting out of my annoyed thoughts, I heard the dies clatter on the ground, and my eyes snapped back at the ring to see the dies rolling to a stop. Juri stepped up to the dies and read the names before she turned to the whole stadium.
“Team Uraotogi receives a free space and for Team its the Masked Fighter!” Juri announced, and I pouted.
I sighed. “Looks like you're going, Hiei.” I mumbled bluntly.
Shishi continued to smirk at the dies, and I glared at him with a withering look. “I'll be happy to go again, how about yourself?” He asked, looking down at Hiei from the ring.
“I said from the start I would be the substitute, I just didn't know it would be this much fun.” Hiei uncrossed his arms with a smirk, and continued as he began to walk forward. “Assuming you don't mind, Kurama, Onna.” He said without looking at us, but a hand on his shoulder stopped him in mid-step.
“Wait.”
Hiei, Kurama and I tensed up at the sound of the slightly unfamiliar voice, it sounded like it belonged to an old woman, not a young one. We all turned to see the Masked Fighter standing there, but there was something different about her. She wasn't as strong, her Spirit Energy having gone down drastically since yesterday. However, I didn't stare at her suspiciously like Hiei did, considering that this was the same person by her Spirit Energy. But I did narrow my eyes in confusion, wondering what the hell could have happened to make her so weak...so frail. Dammit, now my head hurts, too many confusing things have happened today!
Hiei narrowed his eyes dangerously down at the Masked Fighter. “Just who the hell are you?” The Masked Fighter let him go, but said nothing. “I hope you don't expect me to believe that you're the same Masked Fighter who was on our team before, you imposter. She had tremendous power, you're a weakling.” He said coldly, and despite myself I felt a little jealous, damn people for being stronger than me...
“Yusuke has it now.” The Masked Fighter replied calmly.
Hiei and I gasped at the news and let her walk by towards the ring. We watched with confused gazes as she flipped onto the ring, landing on the ring softly. Now I was really confused, how could she have given Yusuke her power, is that even possible? I didn't know, but considering how weak she was, it had to be the only answer, and I couldn't help but wonder how strong Yusuke was going to be when he came back. Turning fully to the ring again, I noticed the disgusted and annoyed look that was on Shishi's face, obviously feeling the lack of Spirit Energy on her part. However, something told me that the Masked Fighter still wasn't a push over. ...But something did strike me as familiar about her, her voice...I've heard it before...
“How awfully disappointing.” Shishi glared at the Masked Fighter. “I wanted a good match. I can feel your fragility from here, although I don't know who you are. What do you say we remove that little mask?” He asked coldly, grabbing his Katana from his sheath, positioning it threateningly.
“It's match five everybody! Shishi Wakamaru vs The Masked fighter! Let's go!” Juri announced.
Shishi wasted no time attacking the Masked Fighter, slashing at her with his Katana, only to have her jumped back. The Masked Fighter stumbled back slightly, but regained her footing, only to see look up and seeing Shishi almost look like he was floating, thanks to his swift speed. Blinking in surprise, she saw Shishi appear inches before her, throwing his Katana at her head, only dodging it by jumping into the air. Landing on the ground Shishi was already there, attacking her with swift swipes and quick slashes, while she dodged with jumps and flips, flying all over the ring. However, I could tell that she was having a hard time, Shishi's moves appearing to be faster thanks to her lowered Spirit Energy. ...This isn't good.
“Now it's Team Urameshi whose running from the blade, though I say this young lass's dodging techniques are a little more extensive!” Koto announced as she watched the two fighters.
As much as I hate to admit it, Koto was right about the Masked Fighter, she was flying everywhere to just get away from Shishi. I've never really seen her fight before, but she always seemed to know where to go at the right moment, but now she couldn't land anywhere unless Shishi was there waiting for her. I bit my lip in worry, sure I've NEVER talked to the Masked Fighter, but this was our battle and the poor girl was being sucked into mess. I watched worriedly as the Masked Fighter flipped once more, going high into the air to get away from the sharp blade, Shishi following close behind. Letting out a shout, Shishi slashed at her three times, all three being dodged before they both landed on the ground simultaneously. Kicking off the ground he slashed at her three more times before they began to run opposite each other, until they both jumped into the air.
“You seem to have lost a great deal of strength since I last saw you fight.” Shishi smirked at the Masked Fighter, seeing her body a few feet before him in the air. “But more importantly, the intrigue of your identity is stealing my spotlight!” He shouted, slashing once more at the Masked Fighter, but this time it was different.
The blade missed the Masked Fighter, but what came out of the blade didn't. A string of blue Spirit Energy formed from the slash, rapidly finding its way to the Masked Fighters Face, and the next thing we all knew the masked was cut into tiny, white pieces of fabric. Out of the masked bits were dull pink hair that seemed to have lost it's color from old age, and I heard Kurama gasp beside me. Watching the Masked Fighter land back on the ground, my mouth dropped open at who I saw. Like I said before, she had long dull pink hair, that seemed to be wavy, and her brown eyes were half-lidded probably thanks to the exhaustion of out running Shishi. Sweat trickled down her slightly wrinkled face, but despite how old she was she looked good for her age, looking a lot younger than you would guess she would. My mouth dropped open in shock, a gasp escaping my lips as well.
“Holy shit...” I whispered to myself, the shock not wearing off.
However, I saw Hiei tense up and glare heatedly, obviously not knowing who this woman was. If I had been able to speak, I would have told him to calm down, but I couldn't find my voice for the life of me. All I could do was stare at the old woman in the ring, watching her smirk ruefully at herself, breathing slightly heavy from all of the exercise moment ago. I just couldn't believe that was... My eyes found their way over to Shishi, seeing the purple haired youkai turn to Juri, his eyes narrowed into a distasteful glare. He obviously didn't know who she was, and that was rather surprising considering that she was the-.
“Hopefully I don't need to tell you that's a different person.” Juri turned to Shishi, as well as the rest of us. “Their team is obviously using that mask as a way to sneak in additional players into their rotation.” He said with a scowl on his lips. I glared at him heatedly, no fucking way would we do something like that!
“Um, and that's against the rules, isn't it?” Juri asked, a little confused.
Shishi turned his narrowed gaze to the Masked Fighter. “Even if this woman is the one substitute they're allowed, she cannot enter the ring unless the one she replaces is already dead.” He explained, hiding a smirk.
“That is what the book says.” Juri nodded.
“I demand to see proof of their team members death, otherwise I am forced to ask for their disqualification.” Shishi said, giving us a smirk that made me want to snap his neck in two, especially since we didn't have any way to explain how this was the same person, the Committee was obviously going to disqualify us. Shit...
“Ok, let me see here...” Juri mumbled, not liking to be put on the spot.
Fear began to rack my body at the thought of us being disqualified. I looked between the boys beside me, not wanting either of them to die, fear growing for them as well. And I could tell by their expressions they were not happy about the accusation either. Hiei's face was shadowed, and that could only mean that he was pissed off to a very dangerous extent. Kurama, on the other hand, had his eyes narrowed into a glare, as well as sweat trickling down his temple. Seeing them like this didn't make me feel any better, I turned back to the ring, not even caring for the youkai that were screaming at us to pay with our lives for 'deceiving' them.
“Well this is a little...unexpected, the legality of Urameshi Team has been called into question. And the blood bath's been delayed in hopes of some kind of a group lynching.” Koto announced over the shouts of the youkai behind her.
I grimaced at the thought, my hand going to my neck subconsciously. “Oh, how fun.” I said sarcastically.
However, my moment of anger, fear and sarcasm was cut short when everyone in the stadium heard something mechanical moving. My eyes moved to some kind of gross looking accessory on the stadium wall split down the middle before moving to their respective sides. Behind it was a large screen, it turned on with a little melody, and a second later we saw a video of the Masked Fighter in her fight against the Ichigaki Team. It was before Hiei, Kurama and I showed up, and it showed Yen throwing his Angel Blades at her. She dodged effortlessly, but her mask had been cut, letting us see the bright pink hair spill down her shoulders and see her face completely. It was a younger version of the old woman in the ring now, same clothes, same height, just different ages.
“A replay of Team Urameshi's Fight against the Ichigaki Team is now on the Jumbo Screen. This was the first time we saw beneath the mask, and as we see it was definitely a much younger girl.” Koto announced as the clip until a woman in a suit whispered in her ear before walking away. “I've just received word from the Tournament Committee, they're reviewing the situation as we speak and ask for your patience as they come to a final decision.” She said once the woman left.
I let out a sigh of relief. “At least they didn't kill us right away.” I mumbled with frown on my lips.
“And in the mean time,” all of us looked at Koto as she stood up from her seat. “As your groovy broadcaster, I'll be panning the audience for your opinions. How do you call it?” She went up to an old youkai, holding the microphone in front of him. “What about you, sir?” She asked.
The old youkai turned to her slowly. “What was the question?” He asked.
I deadpanned, sweat dropping.
Koto was doing the same thing as me, but decided to answer him. “The...two different fighters under the mask, how do you think it should be called?” She asked after a moment of hesitation, hoping that she would have to repeat herself again.
“Ah, yes of course, there's really no question. The younger girl's far more attractive.” The man smiled, while I shuddered at the man, he was so old!
“Uh, okay...” Koto quickly went away from him before going over to a younger youkai, pushing a girl out of the way. “What about you, any thoughts on this?” She asked, hoping that this guy would actually give her an answer unlike the old pervert that she got before. I was hoping as well, mostly because I don't want to hear any perverted things echoing around the stadium and into my virgin ears.
“The Old Man and The Sea, Hemingway.” The young youkai said, smirking slightly.
Koto got a deadpanned look on her face, before she let out a sigh, going back to her seat. “Oh, perhaps we should just sit and be quiet instead.” She said annoyed at the lack of seriousness in the crowd, but what could she expect from these lower class youkai? Nothing really.
However, I blinked in shock at the man's answer. “Wow, some youkai actually have the intelligence to read Hemingway’s books?!” I asked, my mouth dropping open slightly.
“You've heard of Hemingway, Kira?” Kurama asked, surprised as well, but I ignored that.
“Yep, I even read a book by him, but at first it wasn't because I wanted to. When I was a Thief-For-Hire,” I ignored the look Kurama got. “One of my clients wanted me to steal books from Ningenkai -because apparently they sell a lot here in Makai-, and one of them was For Whom The Bell Tolls. The bastard died before I could make the delivery, so I was stuck with nothing but books so I read them. The book was good though, I really liked it despite not getting the diamonds I was promised.” I said that last part with a scowl on my lips.
“That's amazing.” That was...Hiei?
I blushed heavily at the compliment, turning to him surprised, as well as Kurama. “....Hu-Huh? W-What?” I managed to stutter out, my stomach exploding with butterflies at that. Dammit me, control yourself!
“You actually do have a brian, and here I thought that was impossible.” Hiei suppressed a smirk.
My blush instantly died away, and I glared heatedly at him. “And here I thought you actually were going to be nice for once, but apparently THAT'S impossible, you asshole!” I shouted with an irk mark pulsing on my temple, he's so lucky that I couldn't bring myself to hurt him terribly. VERY lucky.
“Well you thought wrong.” Hiei finally smirked, despite the situation being presented before us.
“Yeah, I guess I did!” I spat, my right eye twitching.
“Hiei, Kira.” Hiei and I looked at Kurama, he was looking at Koto. “They're going to announce their ruling.” He said calmly despite what that could mean for us, and Hiei and I grew serious once again.
“All right people, I've received the final word from the Committee!” Koto sat down at her desk and frowned slightly. “This is crazy, kind of feels like an award show. Well anyway, I'll just go ahead and read here. 'By the authority of the Tournament Committee, and a unanimous decision, the Masked Fighters eligibility and Team Urameshi's future is ruled...'” She trailed off for dramatic affect.
I quickly grew annoyed. “Dammit, just say it already!” I shouted, my irk mark pulsing.
Koto ignored my loud shout and got a grin on her lips. “No problem! The fight between Shishi Wakamaru and the Masked Fighter will continue!” She announced with a bright smile on her lips.
I threw my hands in the air. “Finally! My life DOESN'T suck!” I shouted smiling, and the boys sweat dropped.
“Are you serious?!” Shishi shouted outraged.
I turned to Shishi who was glaring up at the Tournament Committee Window, while I was smirking happily. However, that dropped when I heard the whole crowd erupt into outraged anger, just like Shishi. They were glaring at Koto, calling her a traitor for 'siding with us' and began to pelt her with cans and other things they happened to get their hands on. I felt bad for her, even if she was a little creepy with her love for pain, it's not like she had a choice in the matter. I glared at the youkai as they began shouts of threats to kill her along with us, and I saw her duck her head at the things that were currently trying to hit her.
“My goodness, where do you guys get these things to throw at me?!” Koto asked, sinking in her seat as she tried to somehow get away. A second later she gasped when a can hit her microphone and she made a grab to get it, but someone already did.
“That isn't polite.”
Hiei, Kurama and I tensed up at that voice, it familiar and not in a good way. Everyone in the stadium instantly quieted down when they saw their 'hero' standing, holding the microphone up to his lips. Toguro. I glared dangerously at him, but I was thankful that Kane stopped riding his ass and wasn't here. However, that didn't make me any less angry to see the bastard standing there, acting as if he was so noble for helping Koto. The guy could save children from a fucking burning hospital for all I care and I still wouldn't think he was a good person. But seeing him standing there, it send a cold chill through me, reminding me that we were almost done with the Semi-Finals, and considering the lead we have we were going to win. In a few days, we would be fighting his team, and I would be fighting...
“Team Urameshi did not cheat, I wanted you all to know that. To understand why, you merely have to know who that woman is.” The old woman, Kurama, Hiei and I all glared at the bastard. “While employing the technique she's so fond of, the body of the user does a most impressive thing. It's cells return to the moment when they were strongest, the young girl you saw before and the old woman there now are the same person. The Ningen Psychic who created the Spirit Wave.” Toguro smirked, and it sent fear through me again. "It's been such a long time since we talked hasn't it, Genkai?” He asked, his voice slightly sadistic.
The crowd began to talk in confused and shocked chatter, the people who didn't know who Genkai was before were shocked to see her now. I, however, wasn't shocked considering I knew when I saw her mask off at the middle of this damn match. I could tell that Hiei was slightly shocked, considering he was staring at her like she was some impostor who was came onto the team just to kill us, and I couldn't help but smirk. But that instantly dropped when I turned back to Toguro, seeing him move out of my peripheral vision. He was still smirking, but he dropped the microphone into Koto's surprised hands and he headed back up the steps that he had descended moment ago. And with his presence now gone, the match was set to begin, so I turned my gaze to the ring, only to glare again.
“You're the renowned Psychic, Genkai. So fate smiles on me after all, I won't have to wait for Toguro before I get my celebrity!” Shishi laughed insanely, his eyes shrinking dramatically. “You seem like just an old woman to me, but your name is known by nearly every apparition, and now I will be famous, too. As the one who killed you! I won't dally around with you anymore, we'll need to give an appropriate death!” He shouted.
“Good luck, Genkai wouldn't let a pussy-ass bastard like you kill her.” I said with a smirk, crossing my arms.
Kurama looked at me with a curious look on his face. “You say that as if you know Genkai.” He said, but I could tell that he wanted me to explain my amazingly worded insult.
I turned to him, smiling now. “Yeah, I DO know her, although we're not really 'friends' considering what happened a few years ago when I met her.” Now Kurama AND Hiei were interested with the story. “Remember what I told you guys in the tower at Maze's Castle, about how I became afraid of heights?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at them.
“You almost broke every bone in your body because some youkai pushed you off a cliff for stealing something valuable from them, right?” Hiei asked right back, and I was slightly surprised he remembered.
I nodded despite the surprise and the flinch at the VERY painful memory. “Yep, that's how I met her. I was actually running from the youkai in Makai until I found a way to slip through to Ningenkai, too bad I landed near a cliff. After getting the shit beaten out of me and pushed me off a cliff to my 'death', I apparently landed in Genkai's huge, million mile acre land. She found me cause she sensed my Energy and let me stay at her house until I was completely healed. Well to make a long story short, when I was almost healed she called me an idiot for being so reckless and I pretty much attacked her cause you guys know how much I hate being called that.” I said, giving Hiei a look that could freeze over Hell.
“You ATTACKED her?” Hiei asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
“Fuck yeah I did, it wasn't my fault that I didn't know they had really good traps set for me! ...But she did kick my ass when I did that though...” I saw the look Hiei was giving me, and continued. “Still! She had no right to call me an idiot, it could have happened to anyone!” I defended myself.
“Yes,” Hiei smirked. “An idiot.”
I glared at him, but turned to Kurama with a pleading look. “Kurama, you agree with me, right?” I asked.
Kurama stared down at me with a sweat drop going down his head. “Don't drag me into this argument, Kira.” He said calmly, although I noticed that he did seem a little farther away then before... My mouth dropped open in surprise at that, he should be defending me, he's like a real older brother to me!
“Dammit Kurama, defend me!” I whined, anime tears falling.
If Hiei could laugh at my despair, he would have, but he opted for his other option. Smirking. “Looks like you're 'role model' has abandoned you, Onna.” He said, his smirk widening slightly.
“Oh, go to hell Hiei, knowing you that's YOUR doing!” I shouted accusingly.
Hiei rose an eyebrow. “How?”
“You and your Jagan Eye! You could have put some freaky mind control thing over him!” I shouted with an irk mark pulsing on my temple. However, I was actually doing this for the hell of it. ...What can I say, I'm kind of bored, and using up words :D!
“I could have, but that only works on lower-class youkai, Baka.” Hiei said bluntly.
I got a blank look on my face, and that was actually real. “You just have to be so smart, don't you?” I asked slightly annoyed at that, damn him for knowing about his eye. I saw Hiei about to retort, but I stopped him. “Don't even say it Hiei, or I swear to god you'll regret it!” I growled with a real irk mark this time, making the two boys around me sweat drop.
“I'm sure.” Hiei rolled his eyes.
I began to rise my hands into that strangling motion again, but stopped myself when Kurama suddenly put his hand on my shoulder. Blinking in surprise, I looked at him confused. “Look.” Kurama instructed briefly, and I did, but I was still confused.
Shishi still had that sickening smirk, it never leaving his lips as he gripped the top and bottom of his hilt. Pulling the two apart, I grimaced in disgust when I saw pinkish organ looking, worm-like things appear beneath the hilt. It looked like guts, and that was very gross, mostly because this Tournament was the first time I really killed anyone and I've never seen innards before. Seeing that now, I could tell I never wanted to. Shivering slightly, I watched the 'worms' began to stretch apart and at first it looked like they were tearing from the strain, but I was wrong. The holes that appeared actually began to form into a pink blob, and what looked like a face soon appeared where the worms had been. It was definitely creepy, and narrowed my eyes at it in suspicion, what the hell was it going to do? It had a very bad aura around it, thats for sure.
“That weapon...” Kurama mumbled with a gasp.
Shishi smirked, eyes narrowing at Genkai. “The Banshee Shriek, I think it's such a lovely name for a sword. It has the power to beckon lost youkai souls into the ring with us.” Dragging his blade across the floor in front of him, Shishi then began to spin it 'expertly'. “It should be the perfect way to make myself a reputation.” He said, red youkai Energy spewing from the tip and end of the sword, faces appearing.
“I've seen a sword like that before, and I don't believe he understands the danger of it. It has more power than he does.” Kurama said with a serious and wise look in his jade-hued eyes.
Hiei only narrowed his eyes.
I nodded, but smirked. “Lets hope it turns on him, that would be very amusing.” I said, almost sadistically.
Kurama sweat dropped, staring down at me with a slightly blank look on his face. “Kira, I think you've been around Hiei a little too much.” He said, his tone could almost be called blunt if you looked -or listened in this case- hard enough.
“I'm getting the feeling that's not a good thing.” My face was blank as well, but it quickly turned to surprise when Hiei didn't say anything. Looking back at the fire youkai, I cocked my head to the side. “Hiei?” I asked, slightly concerned.
There was no answer from the fire youkai at all, and I sweat dropped when I swear I saw his expression turn...evil. His eyes had darkened slightly, and he lowered his head, his face shadowing over slightly. He wasn't looking at anything that was in the ring, it was like he was thinking about something. That made me a bit concerned, what the hell could have pissed him off so much? ...Or what could have happened to make him look so deadly? It was like he was reading someone's thought and found out they were going to blurt out a really big secret. Whatever was on his mind was probably very important to him, but I'm still a bit nervous about it. Seeing Hiei like that was very unnerving...
*...Hiei?* I though/asked again, hesitantly.
Seeming to snap out of his thoughts, Hiei glanced at me. {What, Onna?}
I kept my face blank as I possibly could which, as many of you can tell, was very hard. *You had this look on your face that pretty much said you were going to kill someone if they said the wrong thing.* I thought right back, glancing at him as well.
Now it was Hiei's turn to sweat drop, but he tensed. {That was oddly specific.} He thought, slightly annoyed.
I grinned. *What can I say? I'm a very perceptive person!*
{Then how come you didn't know that Kurama was Yoko KURAMA, Onna?} Hiei thought back with a smirk, ignoring the glare that I shot him, an irk mark now pulsing on my temple. {That's what I thought.}
*Shut up.* I growled, my right eye twitching.
Looking away from the smirking fire youkai, I turned my gaze back to the ring. Shishi and Genkai, surprisingly, did not seem to move at all after everything that had happened, they were still in the same spots as before. “Are you ready?!” Shishi suddenly shouted, causing me to jump.
*...Fucking hell...* I thought to myself as I held my 'beating' heart.
However, I stopped when I took in Genkai's appearance. She was still warn out from early on in the fight, but I could tell that she wasn't going to let herself die here. Something in her eyes hardened and she got into a fighting stance, eyes focused on the purple haired bastard before her. It was as if she made up her mind about something, the once -slightly- thoughtful look on her face was now gone and she was completely focused on the fight now. That look made me grow serious again, as well as the fire youkai beside me. I narrowed my eyes in worry, I got a sudden feeling that something was going to happen very soon, and it wasn't going to be good. I didn't know what, but it made me anxious and I bit my lip. ...I hope Genkai will be okay...
Ending it here! I hope you guys liked this chapter! Bye :D!

Kuwabara sneered at the noise, and Shishi. “Well Shishi Wakamaru, those girls are really into you, too bad after I'm done with you you'll be 'Chop Suey' Wakamaru!” He said with a glare, and I just sighed at the oh so 'clever' name that Kuwabara gave him. Sometimes I wonder about him...-__-;
The whole stadium that was filled with the fan-girls erupted angrily with boos that the sound of that.
Seeming to snap out of his thoughts, Hiei glanced at me. {What, Onna?}
{Then how come you didn't know that Kurama was Yoko KURAMA, Onna?} Hiei thought back with a smirk, ignoring the glare that I shot him, an irk mark now pulsing on my temple. {That's what I thought.}
Bye :D!
