~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~
I let out a small frown as I rested Hiei against a smooth, slanted rock a few inches away from me, missing the warmth of his body being so close to mine. However I knew I couldn't hold him -despite how much I REALLY wanted to-, and sucked it up as I stood up with the others, minus Kurama since he needed to sit down thanks to his injuries. Sighing under my breath, I looked around at the stadium, my eyes widening slightly. I knew Hiei was ruthless and all, but I don't think the stadium deserved THIS! The whole stadium was cut in half thanks to the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, the ring was completely destroyed, a lot of youkai and ningens were dead in the stands and everything just looked like it went through hell and back. I couldn't help but pout at the scenery around me, and I really liked this stadium, too! It looked so awesome being all dark colored and shit! ...R.I.P new stadium, you shall be missed. T.T
"You gotta hand it to him, when Hiei's feelin' serious he really lets ya know." Yusuke said, looking around at the stadium as well.
Kurama couldn't help but chuckle at that, smiling at the young Spirit Detective. "With this technique mastered his power is overwhelming indeed. We'll have to stay on his good side." He said jokingly, giving all of us a 'warning' look. Oh Kurama, Hiei wouldn't kill any of us! ...Wait.
"Looks like Kuwabara's out." I said with a blank look, turning to the red haired ningen next to me.
"Hey!" Kuwabara shouted offended.
I rolled my eyes at him, how the hell does he NOT know that Hiei wants to kill him?! I mean the guy tries to burn him with his gaze every chance he gets, as well as insulting him! "It's not my fault he has an irrational hatred for you." I said, sticking my tongue out at him childishly, and I didn't care if that wasn't the mature thing to do. You've read 39 chapters of this story, you all should know I'm NOT mature!
"You annoy him, too!" Kuwabara shot back, trying to take the nervousness away from himself. Jerk.
I couldn't help but smirk at that weak attempt. Hiei wouldn't kill me. "That's true, but he doesn't hate me, so nya!" I said sticking out my tongue, crossing my arms over my chest in victory. Take that Kuwabara!
"Hey." Yusuke smirked at us, while Kuwabara huffed and looked away, while I just smirked right back at him. We're so awesome. "He didn't say how long he'd hibernate, maybe we'll all be dead when he wakes up and it won't be an issue." He said turning back to the main point of the conversation, turning to look at the sleeping youkai who looked surprisingly innocent when he slept. Aw...
"That's a cheery way to think, Yusuke, I can tell you dealt with all your problems." Koenma said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, anyway." Yusuke looked away, turning to the ring with a frown. "What are they gonna do with the ring? It looks like a graveyard." He asked.
Kuwabara finally got over his sulking mood and walked over to Yusuke, putting his hand on his shoulder. "Gee, why are you upset? The ring's not your problem, all we gotta do is think about smashing those Toguros and gettin' things back to normal." He said with a confident smirk on his face.
However, Kuwabara suddenly froze and he dropped his hand, turning to look at the team opposite of ours. I frowned, not liking the look that passed over Kuwabara's face, his face contorting into a fear filled and paralyzed look. Narrowing my eyes, I looked over at Team Toguro, and my eyes instantly landed on Elder Toguro. His golden eyes were flashing a bright red while he was smirking darkly right at Kuwabara. Growling under my breath, my hands curled into fists, biting my tongue so I didn't act like an idiot once again. I didn't want Elder Toguro to piss me off more than he already has, but by the look that was on his face I guess I couldn't think that. He was going to go out of his way to make us hate his guts for his own amusement. I hate him.
"Look." Yusuke scoffed, seeing the same thing. "He's pouring some stupid intimidation. What a joke."
"Yeah! Can you believe how silly he is?!" Kuwabara looked at Yusuke nervously, forcing a smile on his lips to try and act confident, and that only made me frown more. Poor Kuwabara..."I mean what guy would get scared by some terrifying red eye trick? I'm gonna beat him so fast." He said crossing his arms over his chest as he gave a 'cocky' side-ways glance at the pale bastard.
I suddenly heard the sound of paper being folded and turned to Koto, seeing her reading a note before putting it away and putting the microphone to her lips once again. "I've received word that we'll have a long intermission while the replacement ring is brought in. Feel free to move around the parts of the stadium that still exist, and of course as always don't forget the snack bars." She said before she clicked off the microphone with a sigh, and I smirked, so even SHE isn't too thrilled about this tournament either. Ha.
"Excuse me." I heard a familiar voice say.
I looked and sweat dropped when I saw George standing next to Koto with a hopeful smile on his lips. "Koenma, George is doing something." I said with a blank look on my face, I had a feeling that he was going to pull a 'Kuwabara' on us.
"Oh great, what now?" Koenma groaned with a frown.
I turned back, seeing Koto put on another smile as she looked at him. "Autograph or date?" She asked almost automatically, and I rolled my eyes at that.
"Actually I wanted to see if you needed a co-host on your radio program." George explained.
"Uh...?" Koto mumbled confused, and I sweat dropped again.
"See I'm in a dead end job, and I always wanted to be a performer really." George suddenly grabbed the microphone from the stand, flicking it on which resulting in a very loud, youkai ear splitting shriek that made me cringe and hold my ears. Well damn that hurt! "Um, testing 1, 2. Fire pilot fights are cool." He said into the microphone, making his voice slightly deeper. Yep, he's going to pull a 'Kuwabara'.
"Do you WANT me to get demoted again?!" Koto shouted at him with wide eyes, trying to take back the microphone.
George only ignored her, putting the microphone to his lips and I couldn't help but groan at what I heard next. "My species is ogre and my skin is blue, and don't tell my momma but I know kung fu!" He shouted/rapped into the microphone, making me face palm myself, he was even worse than Kuwabara!
Koto frowned in exasperation. "Um that's good!" She said, trying to be polite as possible.
"Hey! Whats up!" George smiled at Koto, actually failing to notice the pleading look that was in her eyes. "I do karaoke, too!" He said, and I just decided to stop listening right there. Turning to the boys I saw Yusuke and Kuwabara were staring with confused looks, their eyebrows raised as if they were wondering what the fuck happened. I couldn't help but laugh slightly at that, oh things were -kind of- starting to look up. We'll be going home soon and we won't ever be pulled into this 'carnival', as Hiei called it, again. Finally.
Koenma groaned. "And my dad says a frontal lobotomy would be too harsh." He mumbled to himself, crossing his arms while I rose an eyebrow.
Yusuke couldn't help but smirk when he heard that, and I noticed that glint in his eyes. "Gee, Koenma sounds like you haven't dealt with all your problems well." He said twisting Koenma own words around, his smirk widening once those words passed through his lips. Oh he is so awesome xD.
Koenma laughed nervously, turning to Yusuke. "Hey, come on! They're ogres, their like equal to mice on Earth!" He said in his defense.
"Sure, whatever you say, Koenma." I said smirking, ignoring the glare.
Kuwabara let out a sigh, and that made me turn to him, only to see him force another smile as he put his hands on his hips. "This conversations wearing me down, I'm going to the locker room to relax! Gotta get into my fighting groove!" He said before he gave us a quick wave, starting to head back to one of the locker rooms that we were allowed to lay in when things like this happened.
"Tell them why you're really leaving."
That voice made the boys and I quickly turn, and caused Kuwabara to stop and turn around as well, his eyes wide with fear. Mine were as well, not being able to sense him at all, not to mention that he was so quiet that he managed to sneak in front of Yusuke. Sweat trickled down my temple when I saw Elder Toguro standing there with a dark smirk on his lips, staring up at Kuwabara mockingly. His hands were behind his back, showing his absolutely relaxed state, and I didn't like that look on him at all. When the bad guys were relaxed that meant shit was going to go down and it was going to be bad. Narrowing my eyes despite the sickening feeling that was in the pit of my stomach, I glared at him heatedly, my hands curling into fists once again at the sight of this sick bastard. When Kuwabara fought him -even if I didn't like the thought of that-, I hoped that he would make this guy's death as painful as possible. Even Kuwabara would let his Honor Code go down the shitter if it meant killing this fucker.
"You're frightened because you've realized you're about to die." Elder Toguro stated, his tone mocking once again and I bristled slightly.
Kuwabara glared at him, hiding the fear from his eyes. "Hey! You got no business over here!"
"You have improved your strength remarkably the last few months Kuwabara, but there's still an abyss of difference separating you and I. So, save the appropriate prayers, because I don't like painless endings." Elder Toguro smirked sadistically, it only widening when Kuwabara stared at him with fear in his wide eyes, sweat trickling down his temple."Lucky for you you're execution's been postponed. Why don't you go enjoy your life for a while? You don't want to have any sickly regrets." He said as he walked away, laughing that annoying fucking laugh as he headed back towards his brother.
"I hate that fucking bastard." I hissed through clenched teeth, he better fucking die here or I'm going to be pissed!
Yusuke glared after him as well, but looked away, turning on his heel as he headed towards the doors that lead into the underground hallways to one of the locker rooms that Kuwabara tried to go to. "Ignore him, he only wants to get under our skin." He advised as he walked away, and I followed behind him, seeing the others get up as well, although Kuwabara -reluctantly- had to grab Hiei. Ha.
"Yeah." I mumbled, shooting one last glare over my shoulder.
~*~*~*~
All of us sat inside one of the locker rooms, two benches sitting in the middle of the room and a window in front of said benches, letting in a little light. Yusuke was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and his eyes closed, a frown on his lips. Kuwabara was standing in front of the window, and I could see the look of fear in his eyes despite how hard he tried to mask it. Koenma was standing on Kuwabara's left, his gaze solemn, a frown on his lips as well -or I believe there was because of his pacifier-. Hiei was laying on one of the benches, still hibernating. Kurama and I were sitting on the bench opposite of Hiei's, and I could definitely tell you that I was glad we were having a long intermission. I was feeling dizzy from the blood loss and I needed a place to sit for a few minutes. However I tried to pass off a look of boredom instead of exhaustion, I sill didn't want them to worry about me.
"Kira, how is your wound?" Kurama suddenly asked, knocking me out of my 'concentrated' state.
Fuck.
I turned to him with a forced smile, sitting up straighter on the bench despite the pain. "It's fine, I put on some bandages when I woke up. I told you I took care of it." I said truthfully, well half-truthfully because I DID put 'bandages' on, so nya :P.
Yusuke opened his eyes, raising an eyebrow at me. "Why do I get the feeling that you're lying?" He asked sarcastically.
I said the first thing that popped into my head. "Because you're paranoid."
Yusuke and the others looked at me like I was an idiot. "Paranoid of what?" He asked, sweat dropping.
"...Shut up." I mumbled.
Kurama narrowed his eyes at me, easily seeing through my 'foolproof' lying that I had done. Dammit I really need to work on that! "Let me see your wound. If it goes untreated it will get infected." He said firmly, but there was concern in his voice. Like an older brother.
I groaned. "I told yo-"
"Kira." OK that was a warning.
I stared at Kurama's narrowed eyes with my own defiant ones, but when I saw a scary look start to invade them I gave in. "...Fine!"
Ignoring the fact that I was in a room filled with nothing but boys, I lifted my shirt just an inch above my wound, keeping myself completely covered. I am not a whore, thank you. I looked at the boys, and saw them frown at what they saw, or what they tried to see considering my tank top bandages were covering the wound pretty nicely well I believe so anyway. Although they were damp and were now a nice crimson color instead of the gray that it had once been. It was then that I knew that this became a group thing and an embarrassed blush appeared on my cheeks. I did NOT like the fact that they were all staring at my stomach, it made me feel very exposed. Thank god Hiei isn't awake...
Kurama sighed, staring at me blankly. "You used your tank top as a bandage?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"What else could I have used?" I asked innocently.
"Fair enough." Kurama frowned with a shake of his head, gesturing me to take off the bandages. Again thank god Hiei isn't awake. "But I believe you should have left to get medical attention when you woke up." He said giving me a look that told me he wasn't happy with me right now. Aw, Kurama don't be mad at me D:!
I pouted, undoing the bandages. "Well it's not like any of you said anything about that." I heard no retort and I looked up, seeing the boys looking away from me, their expressions blank. I stared at them for a bit longer with a blankly confused look on my face before it dawned on me, and I smirked triumphantly. "Oh, got all of you!" I shouted, pointing at them with a smug look on my face. Take that!
Seeing some of them give me annoyed looks I quickly looked back at my bandages and unraveled them, ignoring the blood that was now staining my fingers. The smell of blood began to make me a little nauseated, and I tried to breathe through my mouth, not wanting to throw up. I really hate the smell of blood. When I finally undid them, I tossed the bloodied bandages to the ground near Koenma, who gave me a disgusted and annoyed look. I just stuck my tongue out at him, not really caring right now, I just wanted those things away from me! However, when I turned back to the boys who were still staring at my stomach, I frown when they did. However, their eyes were narrowed a bit out of anger and out of concern and I opted to not look down at my wound. I didn't want to know if it got any worse since I last saw it an hour or so ago.
Yusuke was the first to recover. "Damn Kira! How the hell is that fine?!" He asked, staring at me like I was insane. It was worse...
"Is it really that bad?" I asked nervously.
Kuwabara stared at me in shock, as if he couldn't believe I asked that. I thought it was a reasonable question! I don't want to look at it again, thank you! "Have you NOT seen that?! It's all bleeding and gross! It looks all raggedy and-"
"Thank you, Kuwabara!" I shouted with an irk mark, starting to feel a little light headed from the visual I got, and from the visual I got when I first looked at it. Ugh.
Kuwabara laughed nervously, stepping away while Yusuke rolled his eyes, Koenma sighed, and Kurama chuckled. Hiei was still unconscious. A few minutes went by after that and Kurama found a first aid kit under the bench we sat on, considering this was also used as a place to put injured teammates during the rounds. After cleaning and disinfecting the wound Kurama wrapped it for me. I would have done it but apparently my skills in that department weren't enough for a serious injury -as Kurama put it- so I had little choice and you can guess how awkward that was. Yusuke kept laughing at me until I shocked him with a little bit of my Lightning Surge, it didn't hurt him it just gave him a warning and he quickly quieted down after that. But now here we were, my wound now completely bandaged and clean, but I still had to wear my blood stained shirt but I really couldn't complain. But it was quiet inside the little room, the atmosphere getting to us. In who knows how long Kuwabara was going to go up against Elder Toguro, and then after that Yusuke was going to go up against Toguro. I was worried to say the least, and from the way Kuwabara was staring out the window with a frown on his lips and a glazed over look in his eyes, I could tell that he wasn't so keen on fighting that match either. Looking away, I suppressed a yawn, my injuries and this day finally catching up with me. However, I kept my eyes open despite how heavy they were starting to feel.
~*~*~*3 Hours Later*~*~*~
The boys hadn't moved much in those three hours, their minds too preoccupied with the last two matches that were going to begin any minute. I couldn't blame them, that was also on my mind, and the sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach was coming back. I hated the thought of Yusuke and Kuwabara doing this, they already fought the Toguro Brothers before and they couldn't beat them. But I wasn't trying to say that I didn't think they had a chance, I was just scared that they were immortal or something. No one, not matter how much determination they had, coudln't defeat anyone immortal! Oh great going Kira now you're going to give yourself a fucking heart attack with all this negative thoughts! Be more positive dammit! ...Kuwabara, having not said a word for this entire time, was deep in thought. His mind had been plagued by nothing but the voice of Elder Toguro and the sadistic smirk that was on his lips. He just couldn't shake those thoughts...
"Your complexion is starting to match your suit, Kuwabara." Koenma said, breaking the silence.
Kuwabara glanced at him, but said nothing to him, instead he forced a smile. "Hey, uh, whats up with Genkai? With a long break like this she's had plenty of time to take some flu medicine, right?" He asked, his 'smile' faltering at the thought of his fight once again.
Koenma frowned knowingly. "You're anxious about fighting the Elder Toguro, aren't you?" He asked, but already knew the answer.
"All right, maybe I am. You could always fight in my place if you wanted to, sir." Kuwabara said with a smirk this time, but as I stared at his eyes I could tell that he was really hoping that Koenma would take up the offer. However, I knew that Koenma wouldn't do it, he had no fighting ability at all, his Spirit Energy was weak and he was a complete coward.
"Any fight I have is an instant out." Koenma stood up, flipping up his cape and he smirked. "Koenma-Tron!" He said ignoring Kuwabara as he anime fell and my when I shot him a blank look. I told you. Coward.
Kuwabara straightened himself up, an annoyed frown now on his lips. "OK this is dumb! He's no real substitute and I'm getting the short end of the pole! If Genkai were here I'd fight Sakyo! I say Koenma fights the brother or I pull Genkai out of bed!" He threatened, his eyes narrowed seriously.
"Give it a break will ya Kuwabara? She's not gonna come and fight today. You're the only one left." Yusuke said with a frown, glancing at Kuwabara briefly.
I looked over at Kuwabara, smiling encouragingly. "You'll be all right, Kuwabara, so don't be so worried. OK?" I asked.
Kuwabara only looked outside with a scoff.
I let out a sigh of defeat, a frown now fully on my lips again. Well that didn't work. Looking away from him I stared down at my lap, my hands wringing themselves out of nervousness for both Yusuke and Kuwabara. If I wasn't about to pass out I would try to break the tension, but I knew that I couldn't even if I was perfectly fine, there was nothing to joke about here. Yusuke and Kuwabara could easily lose their lives in their fights and they knew that, so trying to act like a dumb ass would only make me seem obnoxious and only get on their nerves. I hate conflicting thoughts... However, I was broken from said thoughts when I heard the doors to our locker room open, and all of us looked to see Botan, Keiko, Puu, Shizuru and Yukina standing there. Botan, Keiko, Puu and Yukina were the only ones that were smiling though. Shizuru was another story.
Shizuru walked over to Kuwabara with a narrowed look in her eyes, a tight frown on her lips. I frowned at her, seeing that she was also hiding fear like her younger brother, I guess in runs in the family. "All right baby bro, and what are you going to do when you fight this Toguro, creep? Huh?" She asked, grabbing him by the color of his white bosozoku suit, making him face her fully instead of off to the side like before.
"Back off, sis. Not right now, OK?" Kuwabara looked off to the side. "I'm just feeling a little nervous, that's all." He said, his fear fully visible now.
Shizuru dropped her hands. "Yeah, Kazuma, of course." She mumbled.
"Everything all right over there?" Botan asked, tilting her head at the two, having not heard anything.
"Yeah, perfect!" Shizuru lied, forcing a smile.
I saw through it, however, when she turned around pulling out a cigarette and a lighter. Putting the cigarette to her mouth and lighting it, she took a small drag before she turned back to Kuwabara, her eyes softening at him. I frowned, I knew that she smoked pretty often and all that, but I also knew that she smoked when she was worried about something. And right now Kuwabara was that something. If I was an older sister and I had to watch my younger brother go into a fight where he could be badly injured, I think I would be freaking out outloud instead of trying to hide it. But I guess that would only make things worse, and I guess she knew that considering Kuwabara was pretty much freaking himself out with so many doubts floating through his head. I didn't have to be a telepath like Hiei to know what was on his mind, so I can say that last sentence with a whole lot of confidence.
"It's real." Shizuru mumbled to herself.
I frowned, looking at the older Kuwabara sibling. *Poor Shizuru, this must be killing her.* I thought, with her sense of awareness she must know how strong Elder Toguro is, and it's probably making her feel worse.
I stopped my thoughts when I saw Yukina walked over to Kuwabara. "Hi, Kazuma." She greeted with a sweet smile.
"Oh, hey baby!" Kuwabara smiled, his eyes lighting up.
Yukina pulled up a six pack from her side, and I sweat dropped when I saw that, especially because it was beer. Yukina holding beer, that just doesn't seem like it's possible, huh? "I went by one of the crushed concession stands and pulled out a pack of drinks, I thought it might cheer you up before your next fight." She explained, and I had to stop myself from 'aw'ing at them. That's so adorable :D
Kuwabara's eyes softened at her. "You really are something special, Yukina. But I don't need drinks like those to cheer me up or to have a good time. And if I did I'd always drink responsibly." He said with a bright smile, and I swear I saw them twinkle.
*Dear god, are we in an after school special or something?* I thought rolling my eyes. ....Wait, what?
Kuwabara grabbed Yukina's free hand, staring into her eyes with a serious gaze. "Besides with the power of our love shining through, I'll beat him in .5 seconds."
"Never mind, he's normal again." Shizuru said sweat dropping.
I stared at Kuwabara blankly, he just had to make himself look like an idiot didn't he? Apparently yes because even Yukina was staring at him with a confused look on her face, not quite sure what to make of him right now. I wasn't really sure if she was just confused about the whole love things considering she grew up without any knowledge of that or she was just confused all together about him. Personally I would pick the second one, but I believe the more in character response for Yukina would be the first one so I'm going to go with that. However, my moment of Kuwabara bashing was put to rest when a sudden shaking shook the whole stadium. All of us looked around, our eyes narrowing at the feeling and at the sound. It sounded like something huge was stepping through the whole island. Uh oh...
"What the fuck was that?" I asked, my eyes widening slightly from their narrowed state.
Yusuke stood up from his leaning position on the wall, his eyes narrowed as he looked at the door. "Hey guys, I think we better check this out!" He said, sweat trickling down his temple at the sound. I guess he wasn't too thrilled with this new development being presented to us. ...For obvious reasons of course.
Yusuke, Kuwabara, Koenma and I ran out of the locker room and down the hall towards the door that lead to the ring. Our eyes were narrowed, mine as well both from the pain and from seriousness. This rumbling didn't sound too good. For obvious reasons of course. "Please don't let it be a giant monster!" Yusuke spoke up from next to me, his eyes narrowed and I wasn't sure if he was saying that just to make the tension less or he was being serious. I hate it when he does that...
I just ignored that, the sun shining on us when we appeared outside.
"Holy hell!" Yusuke shouted coming to a stop, Kuwabara, Koenma and I stopping next to him, too shocked to move.
Kuwabara stared at what was before us with his mouth open almost as wide as his eyes. "Yeah! Does he qualify?!" He asked, his voie wavering from the shock and fear that was coursing through him, as well as all of us.
I wasn't able to even say anything, Yusuke, Kuwabara, Koenma and I stared at the horrifying sight before us. The rumbles were still going on, but I wasn't paying too much attention to it, but at what was making them. Yards away from us was Toguro holding the ring from the old stadium on his back, and he didn't look like it was even heavy to him. I don't even think he was sweating. Fear swelled in my chest as I turned to Yusuke, seeing him staring at Toguro with narrowed eyes, but I saw his fist clenching tightly at his sides. Kuwabara was doing a lot worse, sweat trickling down his face, his eyes wide with horror. Koenma was just staring with wide eyes, and if he wasn't so busy sucking on his pacifier it probably would've fallen to the ground out of shock.. I turned back to Toguro, biting my lip nervously. I am NOT liking this at all.
"Why it's unbelievable people! Toguro's carrying the ring from the old stadium on his back! Seems we'll be get on the Finals earlier than expected!" Koto announced, her green eyes wide with awe instead of shock and fear. She's lucky. She doesn't have to be on a team that has to face this fucking insane psycho!
"Anyone care if I puke on myself?" Yusuke asked, and I wasn't sure if he was being serious or not.
~*~*~*3 Hours Later, No-one's POV*~*~*~
Another three hours had passed without much incidents after Toguro brought the ring in. They would have been fighting once again but the Tournament Officials required that the area be cleaned up before it could be placed there. Believe it or not, that was based on safety issues, but no one really complained about it too much. Yusuke and Kuwabara got bored from too much waiting and decided to go who knows where, and the girls left to go back to their seats before the other ningens and youkai rushed to theirs. That only left Kurama, Koenma, Kira and Hiei in the locker room, while only two of them were awake. Kurama noticed Kira's futile attempts at staying awake and persuaded her into sleeping, and she has been for three or so hours. To pass the time Kurama was reading a book while Koenma was just standing around, waiting for the officials to announce that the Tournament was back on schedule again. However, Kurama's concentrated state on his book was broken when he heard a body shift and he looked up from his book, seeing familiar blood red eyes open and glance around the room in slight confusion.
"Ah, you're finally awake." Kurama said with a small smiled, looking at Hiei.
"Where am I?" Hiei sat up, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly when he saw Kira asleep, leaning against Kurama's arm. "How long have I been out?" He asked, turning his -almost- full attention back on Kurama's form.
Kurama closed his book, placing it in his lap. "We're in the locker room, and you've been hibernating for a little over six hours." He informed casually.
"Six hours!? Well who won the Tournament?!" Hiei asked/almost shouted.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that one," Kurama started, "nothings changed since you were last out. Yusuke and Kuwabara got bored and went for a walk. And as you can see Kira is asleep, and she has been for over three hours. Her wound was a lot worse than I had originally thought so I persuaded her into resting, but I'm surprised she didn't pass out earlier from it. Her determination is truly amazing." He said smiling down at Kira for a brief second before he looked back at Hiei.
Hiei stood up, his eyes narrowing into an annoyed glare. "You're not making sense!" He shouted, but hid a flinch as he glanced at Kira's sleeping face.
Kurama smirked slightly at the outburst, his eyes catching the quick glance. "Its taken time to organize since you leveled half the stadium. I hear they were going to fly in a carrier plane from the main land to transport the ring from the old stadium, but Toguro carried it on his back so we can begin shortly." He explained, his smirk forming into a small smile. He was being surprisingly calm in this situation, and if Kira had been awake she would have been amazed.
Hiei's eyes widened slightly. "What?" He breathed out in shock.
The intercom above the door turned on, making the three boys look up. "I've just received the official word, the ring is now in place and we'll be ready to start in thirty minutes! Please make your way to the seats in an orderly fashion, and Juri if you can here this, get over here!" Koto announced/shouted.
Kurama sighed, looking over at the girl resting on his arm. "I guess I should wake Kira up now." He mumbled to himself.
Hiei crossed his arms, heading towards the door. "Leave the baka Onna here, she'll only hurt herself out there." He said, his words laced with annoyance, or so they believed anyway.
"I would but..." Kurama trailed off, smiling nervously.
"But?" Hiei asked as he stopped, looking over his shoulder at the red haired kitsune with a raised eyebrow.
Kurama gestured to Kira's arms that were wrapped tightly around Kurama's left one, and they only tightened unconsciously when she felt him shift. "She has a surprisingly strong grip." He informed, his nervous smile growing wider as he felt his arm beginning to ache from the abuse. Having to make sure he didn't move that arm too much for three hours was a really tedious -and almost impossible- task. Believe him.
Hiei sweat dropped, staring at Kira blankly. {Baka Onna.} He thought with a roll of his eyes.
~*~*~*Your POV*~*~*~
I was stirred from my dreamless sleep by the feeling of being gently shaken, and I immediately woke up, my eyes snapping open. I looked around, frantically trying to find the boys. However I only saw Koenma and Kurama standing in front of me, which didn't help my sleep induced state. But I calmed down when I saw Kurama chuckle at me and Koenma roll his eyes, making me bite back some colorful words in the teenage prince's direction. They shouldn't be so mean to me, I mean I was worried that something happened while I was asleep! ...See if I ever worry about them again. But I stopped my annoyed thoughts when I realized what was going on, the Tournament was finally back on schedule again. Despite how I hated the thought of that, I couldn't help but let out a small smirk, my foolproof wake up system didn't fail me. ...I just hope that I didn't hurt Kurama too badly, my death grip is surprisingly strong even to me, and I'm the one who has it! Snapping out of my thoughts again, I stood up, ignoring the sharp pain that came from my wound. But as I walked forward I stumbled a bit, having not moved my legs for six or so hours. Good job at looking like an idiot me, good job. At least Hiei isn't awa-
I heard a familiar scoff. "Not even a minute after being awake and she already almost falls." Hiei said with a smirk from the doorway.
"Holy shit!" I turned towards the door with wide eyes, my hand on my heart. Despite being happy to see him awake, I was not too happy about almost having a heart attack from the stupid bastard! "You dick! Don't scare me like that!" I shouted with an irk mark on my temple, taking my hand away from my rapidly beating heart. Dammit he's awake! ...I'm mean yay! He's awake :D!
"Be more observant of your surroundings and I won't." Hie countered easily.
My right eye twitched in annoyance, damn him and his ability to win arguments! "Well it's not like we all can be as great as you." I said sarcastically, crossing my arms with a pout on my lips.
"One can only wish." Hiei said, his tone matching mine.
"...Kurama are the matches about to start?" I looked at the red haired kistune next to me, trying my best to ignore Hiei's presence all together, even if I was glad he was awake. "And where's Yusuke and Kuwabara? They're OK, right?" I asked starting to get a little worried about the two, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't see them right now. Especially after seeing that Toguro thing, definitely not a good visual to see then notice two of your friends are missing. Trust me.
Kurama gave me a comforting smile. "They're fine, they're probably waiting for us by the ring. We should be leaving now, the next match should be starting soon." He said, and I let out a sigh with a nod.
"I guess." I said walking after Hiei, Kurama and Koenma.
We all exited the room, and as we neared the exit I could already hear the loud shouts and cheers of the youkai in the crowd above our heads. However now that I actually had some rest and my wound was now covered I didn't mind so much, I was a lot less irritable than I had been before. I know you can't really tell when I'm irritable or not because I'm a complex person, but trust me I was irritable. Looking away from the exit that grew closer I let my eyes fall on Hiei's form, a small smile falling on my l lips. I was still slightly shaken up from the thought of almost losing him, so I had to keep reminding myself that he was still here with us. I just hope that I stop doing that before he notices, I don't want him to think I'm a stalker. Oh the awkwardness that would come from that made up conversation. ...What was I talking about again? Oh yeah, I really am glad he's all right, and I hope that none of the boys do anything crazy like Hiei had done. You know the whole letting the Dragon try to consume him so he can consume it thing. Yeah, I don't want to go through that again, thank you.
The sun washed over us as we walked towards the ring, seeing Juri hold up her hand. "Hello fans! It's time to start the fourth match of the Finals! Did everyone out there have a good break?" She asked with a bright smile on her lips, getting cheers from the youkai once again.
I turned my attention away from her and looked at the two ningens that were standing before the ring. From behind I could tell that they were still a bit anxious about their fights that were coming up, but Yusuke wasn't that nervous, unlike Kuwabara. "Isn't that nice? Genkai really didn't show up in time for her battle." Kuwabara said in annoyance, his arms crossed over his chest.
"No, you pull your own weight from now on." Hiei said annoyed, his eyes narrowed on the red haired ningen.
Yusuke and Kuwabara turned around to see us approach, and Kuwabara frowned slightly at the sight of Hiei. Boys. "OK even Hiei and Kira are back! She must really be sick!" He said angrily, trying to pass that off instead of fear. Poor Kuwabara.
Kurama frowned, stepping towards Yusuke. "I'm sorry Yusuke, but this might be a good time to tell Kuwabara the truth about Genkai." He whispered.
Yusuke only looked at Kuwabara with a frown.
Koenma looked at Kuwabara with a narrowed look in his eyes. "Yep, your definitely still pale Kuwabara. How do we know you're not gonna bail on us?" He asked raising an eyebrow, and I could see the smirk that was beginning to form underneath his pacifier. Ever since Koenma got this new form I believe he's been acting a lot more obnoxious than before. And that's really saying something when I'm talking about BABY Koenma.
"Will you please shut up about that?!" Kuwabara glared at Koenma with an irk mark on his temple. "I'm a real man, OK?! The only way I'm leaving that ring is if he's beaten or I'm dead!" He said determinedly as he glared at Elder Toguro, who was smirking darkly at him from across the ring.
I shot Koenma an annoyed look of my own. "Koenma stop being an asshole." I said annoyed.
"Oh, you finally get over your little crush for me, Kira?" Koenma asked, looking at me with a mocking expression on his face.
"Excuse me?!" My mouth fell open in shock at that accusation, not even noticing someone stiffen for a brief second. "I never had a crush on you, you little twerp!" I shouted with an anime mad face, my fists clenched at my sides. That fucking little bastard! I swear I want the old Koenma back, at least he wouldn't have been this annoying! My anger towards the diaper king only growing when I felt eyes falling on me blankly, I'm really going to make Koenma pay after this whole thing is over, I swear!
"Says the girl who kept blushing whenever I got close to you." Koenam shot back, smirking wider.
My right eye twitched once again. "That's only because you don't understand that I like personal space!" Koenma only rolled his eyes at me, his expression disbelieving. "That's it! Kuwabara your staying out of this fight, Koenma's fighting that freak!" I growled, deadly thoughts racing through my head.
The other boys sweat dropped.
Koenma flipped up his cape, revealing that annoying jet pack. "You forget that I have my Koenma-Tron."
I opened my mouth to counter that, but I came up with nothing. "...I hate you." I mumbled in a growl, desperately wishing that I could hit him. Oh if I only could.
However, the fun air that had appeared over us for that short second was instantly washed away when I saw the frown that was on Kuwabara's lips. The determined look that was on his face before was gone and replaced with uncertainty, and I watched him take the hilt of a sword out from his white suit, looking at it nervously, his fists clenching over it til I thought his fingers were going to turn white. We all stayed silent after that, now not sure of what to say, or not knowing if there was anything really to say. So all of us just waited, ignoring the shouts from the stands as the youkai got riled up for the last two matches that were going to begin shortly. My fists clenched along with Kuwabara, and I bit my lip out of nervousness as I looked at said ningen, he better come out of this match alive or I'll be pissed. I don't need anymore people dieing.
"Sorry for being presumptuous!" Koto's voice shouted through the stadium. "But dare I say the long wait was a help to this final round?! For hours we've anxiously wondered how this undeniably crucial fight will end! And now the answer comes!" And the youkai only cheered harder at that.
Kuwabara let out a forced smirk, walking towards the ring. "Encase I don't make it take care of my cat." He called back to us, jumping into the ring.
I sweat dropped at the request, my face blank. *Oh Kuwabara, even in this situation you manage to say something dumb.* But I turned serious, a forwn on my lips as I watched the ningen walk towards the center of the ring. *You better be careful.* I thought, my hands wringing themselves out of nervousness.
The two opponents stood at the center of the ring, Kuwabara's eyes narrowed into a glare while Elder Toguro's eyes held a mocking look in them. His hands were still behind his back, completely at ease with the whole situation being presented to him, and I didn't like that. I was still getting that bad feeling from him like I had earlier, and I could tell that I would find out why I was feeling that way very soon. Standing between Hiei and Kurama I stared at the two in the ring with a serious gaze in my eyes, well mostly Kuwabara. Kuwabara was already in a fighting stance with the hilt of sword in his hands once again, and he clenched his fist tightly around it once again. I couldn't help but wonder what that was going to do though, considering it didn't have a blade. Kuwabara better have a good explanation for this or I'm going to be pissed if I find out he wasn't at all prepared for the fight after six hours of waiting.
"Ready? Begin!" Juri suddenly announced, throwing her left arm down.
All eyes darted to Kuwabara's form first, feeling his Spirit Energy rise almost immediately. Kuwabara was looking down at the hilt, his arm shaking as colorful lightning began to crack around his form, the lightning coiling around his body in strips of color and bright lights. Sweat trickled down Kuwabara's face as grunts fell past his lips, trying to focus his Energy into the hilt. But the grounds soon turned into shouts as the lightning intensified as a long, jagged, rainbow colored Energy sword appeared out of the hilt, a long stream of bright light appearing around Kuwabara as it shot into the air. The boys and I stared at Kuwabara with wide eyes, and my mouth fell open at the display before me. ...All right, how much did I miss when I was asleep?! When the hell could Kuwabara ever do THAT?! However, my shocked look melted into a smile, especially when I felt Kuwabara's Spirit Energy was actually stronger than it was before. Good, that should level out the playing field between the two. Hopefully.
"Damn." I mumbled.
"Didn't expect that one comin', did ya?" Kuwabara asked through small pants of pain, a smirk on his lips. as he looked at Elder Toguro.
Koto stared at Kuwabara with wide eyes. "I don't know what pocket Kuwabara was hiding his sword in, but he is clearly stronger than before! His entire body is surrounded by a shocking electric aura!" She announced in awe, while I couldn't agree with her more.
Kurama stared at the sword with a narrowed, slightly surprised gaze. "The Energy drawn in by that sword strengthens Kuwabara's body and improves both his offense and defense. If Toguro doesn't realize that Kuwabara may actually have a chance." He said softly, and hearing something like that coming from Kurama surprised me. The 'Kuwabara may actually have a chance' part, I mean.
"So none of you thought Kuwabara could win this?" I asked with surprise evident in my tone.
"What do you think, Onna?" Hiei asked, raising an eyebrow at me like I was an idiot. And to him I probably was...
I looked at all of them slightly in shock, but realized that I was also at fault and I turned to the ring with a frown. "Wow, we're total assholes, aren't we?" I asked, biting my lip as I watched Kuwabara in the ring, he really doesn't deserve to get so much shit talked about him from us. Seriously.
The boys sweat dropped, while I was being completely serious.
Kuwabara clenched his fist tightly around his new sword, eyes set firmly on Elder Toguro. "If there's any way to bring you down Toguro, I'll find it!" He shouted as he kicked off into a run, his sword pulled back.
"That weapon looks awfully dangerous, try not to slip." Elder Toguro smirked cruelly.
I watched the two and I suddenly got a bad feeling all over again, especially when I heard the sounds of cracking coming from the ring. Looking down at the floor I saw that there were two cracks under Elder Toguro's feet heading towards Kuwabara. I heard Yusuke let out a small gasp, his eyes widening as he saw the same thing as me. I began to open my mouth to warn him about something about to spring out from underneath him, but when Kuwabara passed the cracks easily, I closed my mouth with a puzzled expression on my face. I wasn't expecting something like that, but I kept my narrowed gaze on him anyway. Kuwabara let out a shout as he rose his sword above his head, now in front of Elder Toguro. And before we all knew it, the sword came down and Elder Toguro was just watching Kuwabara with a blank look on his face. He wasn't even trying to get out of the way.
"He isn't moving!" Yusuke suddenly shouted, his eyes narrowed into a glare.
All of us watched in anticipation, seeing the sword...easily slice through Elder Toguro's skin. Kuwabara, the boys and I stared with wide eyes as we saw Kuwabara's sword go through some of Elder Toguro's head down to his chest before sitting in his stomach. I felt bile begin to crawl up my throat at the sight, but I swallowed it, watching with a disgusted and shocked gaze. Blood, tissues and veins were easily seen from the two separated pieces of Elder Toguro's face, and I shuttered slightly. Elder Toguro didn't even seem to care, or he was dead considering I believed his heart had been pierced and cut in half by that attack. However, a wave of relief passed through me despite the horrible sight, if that match was this easy than I didn't have to worry about Kuwabara at all. Not even a few seconds into the battle and Kuwabara already one. I guess I shouldn't have been so worried now that I think about it, huh? Thank god...
Kuwabara stepped back out of shock, taking his sword out of Elder Toguro's chest. "That...really got ya, huh? Sorry..." He apologized, his voice wavering.
Koto's mouth was dropped open in shock as well, the crowd behind her talking amongst themselves in confused, incoherent words. "Oh my goodness, people! I don't know if I should believe this! Kuwabara's first swing has ripped Elder Toguro in two! I think this fight is...over!" She shouted/announced over the babbling voices all around us.
"Hey," Yusuke looked over at Kurama uncertainly. "Uh, did Kuwabara just win?" He asked, pointing limply at the red haired ningen.
"I don't know." Kurama answered truthfully, confusion in his eyes.
I was practically beaming now, the fear now gone, and I let a smirk fall on my lips when I glanced, seeing Hiei looking shocked at the display before him. *Looks like you can't say that Kuwabara's useless anymore now, huh, Hiei?* I thought, keeping myself from saying it out loud. I liked our conversations to be between us most of the time, despite it usually being in my head. It drew a lot less attention to us that way.
{Shut up, baka Onna.} Hiei thought back, and I could already see his eyes narrowing into a dangerous glare. Ha.
If it was even possible, my smirk widened at the order. *You're just jealous because your fight didn't end this fast.* I mocked playfully, having missed our arguments. Having been without any arguing for three long hours, it was nice to get back to normal. ...If you could call this normal, that is.
Hiei's right eye twitched in annoyance. {I think I liked it better when I was unconscious.} He growled in my head, an irk mark appearing on his temple.
*You're so mean!* I whined, my smirk dropping instantly.
Now it was Hiei's turn to smirk. {I know.}
*Jerk.*
{Baka}
*Dick!*
{Brat.}
*Bastard!*
However, Hiei and I were cut off from our conversation when Kuwabara began to laugh happily from the ring. "I'm really incredible! I beat a Toguro Brother in one attack!" He shouted, his eyes bright and now fully confidence instead of showing fear like they were before. I smiled at him, it was nice not to see him look like he was walking towards his grave.
Juri walked tentatively towards Elder Toguro, grimacing slightly before she turned around, smiling. "And the winner is Kuwabara-!"
Despite the sentence being finished, she had let out a gasp at what had happened next. The sound of the floor cracking reached my ears and before my mind had time to process what had happened, I was staring at Kuwabara with wide, horror filled eyes. Five long tentacle like substances were impaled through Kuwabara's chest, having entered through the back. Fresh blood splattered through the air, staining the ring almost instantly. Kuwabara let out a shout of pain, blood flying up his throat, falling from his lips. The boys and I were too much in shock to shout Kuwabara's name, and my heart was pounding rapidly with fear for the ningen's life, having seen two or three of the tentacles going through the left side of his chest. However, my mind was brought out of it's confused state when the tentacles retracted themselves, leaving Kuwabara to shout out again before he fell forward, hitting the ring roughly. Watching the tentacles go back towards the hole it had come out of, we all saw where those had come from. The tentacles shrunk back into the shape of...Elder Toguro's fingers.
"What the?!" Yusuke shouted angrily, his fists clenched at his sides as he glared.
Elder Toguro rose from the ground, the tiles cracking as his body became visible once again. A sick smirk was on his lips, an equally disgusting laugh spilling from his lips at the fallen ningen before him. I clenched my fists as well, my nails digging into my skin slightly at the pressure, but I didn't care. "I said a moment ago that Elder Toguro had been sliced in two, but the real life splitting must have occurred well before the sword came down! It appears he's made some kind of a clone, slipped his real self through a crack and attacked Kuwabara from behind!" Koto shouted, breaking the stunned, silent air around us.
"Smashing analysis as always Koto, but could he maybe have a twin?" George asked, his tone 'professional'.
Koto looked at George slightly annoyed. "We do background checks on all the contestants and there was no sign of that." She said bluntly.
George crossed his arms, thinking slightly before he turned to her. "How about triplets?" He asked completely serious, not noticing Koto as she anime fell across her desk. I rolled my eyes at the scene, well that was a bit unnecessary, now don't you think?
Turning away from those two, I narrowed my eyes when they fell on Elder Toguro's form. "You are a very simple minded child, it feels so nice to trick you." He said as he smirked wickedly, enjoying the pain that the fallen ningen before him was experiencing. I bit my lip to keep from shouting, causing myself to re-break the skin that had once again tried to heal . But before I could do anymore damage to myself by holding myself back, I felt a gaze on me and turned, seeing Hiei's narrowed eyes staring back into mine. Taking that as a sign to calm down, I let out a deep breath, turning back to the ring.
"It's suppose to be one-on-one!" Kuwabara shouted with a glare over his left shoulder, pushing up the upper half of his body.
Elder Toguro just laughed at the red haired ningen, raising his left arm, causing the ring floor between him and Kuwabara to break apart as it was lifted into the air. I took a step back out of shock and disgust, seeing long white tentacles molded together appear out of the ground. They moved around like a bunch of snakes, and seeing them move around like that made me shudder. Elder Toguro just kept laughing despite the shocked looks as the other end of the tentacles was attached the bastard's 'dead' look-a-like. Bringing his doppelganger towards him, it hung in the air above Kuwabara mockingly, and said ningen was staring at it with shock and horror in his eyes, completely forgetting about the pain that was currently going through his chest. The boys beside me were just as shocked and probably just as disgusted as I was. But I got that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach again as I watched Elder Toguro's creepy arm float about above the ring. If he was able to make clones of himself, despite being attached to him, then that's only gonna put Kuwabara at a bigger disadvantage than before! I swallowed thickly, this was NOT good!
"Oh I do assure you that my decoy and I are part of the same body! You got me, but when you see the truth of it, its just a paper cut!" Elder Toguro's tentacle like hand reformed back into his arm, while the doppelganger turned back into his hand, a small cut appearing between the pointer finger and the thumb, which he licked. "I feel the sensation of pain, but it's quite unlike yours. You see I can move my body's vital organs where ever I please." To prove his point his brain moved to the left side of his face, while his heart appeared in his right hand before they moved back to their original positions. "When I see your attack coming I simply adjust so that all you hit is flesh. It makes injuring me very complicated." He said darkly, his smirk growing wider.
"All you are is a little freak show!" Kuwabara spat harshly, eyes his eyes narrowing into a glare once again.
Elder Toguro ignored that, turning his gaze on the hilt that laid not too far away from Kuwabara's body. Stretching his fingers out once again, he grabbed it before his fingers retracted, and he examined the weapon. "It truly is an exquisite sword, you inherit it from her?" He asked with a smirk, and I swear a cold chill ran up and down my spine at that question.
*Oh no...* I thought in a whisper, my eyes widening.
"You'd think she'd leave something like this for her apprentice, but I guess Yusuke wasn't strong enough." Elder Toguro said mockingly, noticing the look of confusion and slow forming understanding appear on Kuwabara's face. I looked over at the boys, their body's having stiffened from the question as well.
Kuwabara pushed himself into a kneeling position, a look of denial on his face. "You don't know what you're talking about! Genkai is just sick!" He shouted.
"Oh that's perfectly sad, your friends have been keeping secrets." Elder Toguro looked at Kuwabara 'sympathetically' putting his hands behind his back, still holding Kuwabara's hilt. "Genkai is dead. She has been for two days." He informed sadistically.
"No, it can't be!" Kuwabara looked over at us with pleading eyes, and I clenched my fists tightly as Yusuke looked away. This wasn't how he was suppose to find out! "Why didn't I see that?!" His eyes seemed to glaze over as if he was remembering all of the signs that we had unintentionally given him, and Kuwabara slowly stood back on his feet. "I see, everybody really did know about it but me, they kept me out on purpose! They didn't think I could take it!" He shouted sadly and angrily, his fists clenching tightly as they trembled by his side.
Elder Toguro smirked cruelly at the saddened and betrayed look that was on Kuwabara's face, a sadistic passing through his lips, completely finding this reaction to be entertaining. Raising his hand once again, his five digits flew through the air, embedding themselves into Kuwabara's chest, all five fingers making a circle around Kuwabara's heart. More blood flew from Kuwabara's lips as he let out another shout of pain, more blood spilling out from the wounds in his chest. The once white suit was being littered by the sticky, warm liquid. I hated seeing Kuwabara in so much pain, and I knew that Elder Toguro wasn't going to let Kuwabara go easily -if he made Kuwabara go at all-, he was going to torture the poor ningen until he was bored with his 'toy' then discard him in the most painful way possible. My fists clenched at my sides once again, this time my nails breaking through the skin of my palms, and I felt blood stain my fingertips and the familiar stinging feeling of a new wound.
Elder Toguro's smirk widened as he watched Kuwabara fall to his knees. "Don't cry Kuwabara, it isn't your fault the old witch couldn't stay. Go and question her yourself if you don't believe me. Another few inches and I could pick out your heart." He said, clenching his fingers, making blood fly out of the wounds beneath them, and Kuwabara coughed up more blood as he clenched his hand around Elder Toguro's tentacle like digits.
*Stupid fucking bastard! I hope he rots in the deepest pits of Hell!*I thought with a dangerous hiss.
I felt a familiar presense in my mind, and a familiar gaze on my form. {Calm yourself Onna, the baka isn't dead yet.} Hiei's voice echoed in my mind, the tone that he always had when he ever regarded Kuwabara was annoyed and uncaring. Shocker.
Despite his less than nice sounding words, I took in deep breaths, calming down slightly as he had told me to. Yet again his voice, regardless of what tone it held, always had a strange calming affect on me, but this time it wasn't able to calm me down all the way like before. I looked back at Kuwabara, my eyes narrowed seriously, he was withering in agony while Elder Toguro was relishing in it. The fucking sick psychopath disgusted me so much that there were no words in any of the THREE worlds could begin to describe how much I hated him. If they somehow won he was going to wish for all of us to die for no reason, but I had an idea of what it could be. To see our horror filled faces before our last breathes escaped our lips, to hear us begging, to watch the life drain from us slowly, anything that was sadistic and just morally wrong was what he would want out of a wish like that. I couldn't wait until I saw this bastard die, to watch him scream in agony for putting my friend through this, to cause him so much pain. I couldn't fucking wait.
"Kuwabara!" Yusuke suddenly shouted, breaking me from my thoughts, and I looked at the two in teh ring.
Elder Toguro retracted his fingers, causing more blood to fly out of Kuwabara's chest as they fell back into their regular length, all while Kuwabara was paining heavily, blood soaking his shirt and running down his chin. "What a sad life when your friends aren't even straight with you. But I will tell you everything about the frailty of your ningen kind. It's the story of a young, impressionable ningen girl named Genkai. She was the most beautiful girl in all the land." Elder Toguro started mockingly, holding out his right hand as it morphed into Genkai in her younger appearance. "She was a fighter who wanted to be the very best in the world, and then she met a man named Toguro who also wanted to be the best. And he agreed to play with her. They did everything together. So much so that the man nearly forgot his own brother. The woman and the man were even in love. But then the woman became ugly like a prune and no one wanted to be around her." He said, making 'Genkai' turn to the old woman we all knew, and all of us were glaring heatedly at Elder Toguro. The fucking bastard!
"Brother." Toguro suddenly said, his tone warning.
"Oh, it's OK." Elder Toguro turned to Kuwabara, not caring for his younger brother's tone. "He's just a little anxious because this next chapter is his favorite part in the story. You see the man became a youkai who would stay strong and never become a prune. The ugly woman became extremely jealous of the handsome man and went to fight him. But she was not strong anymore." Elder Toguro sent his free digits, digging them through 'Genkai's chest, blood dripping down his hand. "So the man was happy to murder her!" He finished with an insane smile on his lips, while Kuwabara stared at him with wide eyes.
The boys and I narrowed our eyes into the coldest glares we could muster, and I knew that there was no way we were going to fucking calm down. Koto, however, was completely calm with the news that was being presented. "This sadistic puppet show has brought up a very different explanation for Genkai's absence. Apparently she was killed by Toguro before the Finals even began." She said over the speakers around the stadium, but we ignored her.
"Muttering some final rubbish to her failed apprentice, the woman's soul drifted away to some quiet corner of Hell." Elder Toguro let the full insanity fall over his features, his smile practically stretching from ear to ear, only fueling our anger even more. "We lived happily ever after." He finished, laughing loudly. Insanely.
*Kuwabara...* I mumbled, watching as he looked at the ground, tears falling against the tiles.
Yusuke clenched his fists tightly. "That's all crap! Genkai wasn't jealous! Toguro killed her because he couldn't have her!" He shouted angrily, glaring heatedly.
"Your brother is something of a fool." I heard Sakyo say across from us.
Toguro, despite having sunglasses covering his eyes, I knew he was glaring at his older brother. "Yes, it's a bad habit of his." He said in his usual emotionless tone, but I could pick up the subtle hints of annoyance lacing those words. However, I couldn't smirk in this situation. I was too pissed.
Elder Toguro's laughter was suddenly cut off, and we all turned to him, seeing his golden eyes falling on Kuwabara's form. Said ningen was sniffling slightly as he shakily got to his feet, his head hung slightly as he looked at the ground. His fists were clenched tightly, and before I could frown at him, I saw yellow Spirit Energy beginning to form around his right arm as it shook from the pressure he was putting into it. I narrowed my eyes, feeling his Spirit Energy rising even further than it hand when he had his hilt.
"I'm gonna kill you, you better know that." Kuwabara said shakily through clenched teeth.
Elder Toguro let his hand form back to it's original state, smirking as he held Kuwabara's hilt in the air mockingly. "That's very nice enthusaism but you must have forgotten that I have your weapon. I'd give it back but helplessness is more fun!" He shouted with sick glee as a smile formed on his lips, and it took everything I had to keep myself from shouting at him angrily.
"You're honor less!" Kuwabara growled lowly.
"Yes I am!" Elder Toguro formed his hand into a drill, it's spinning rapidly in place. "Good things that's not what this Tournament's about!" He shouted insanely as the 'drill' raced towards Kuwabara, and my eyes widened -along with the boys- when I noticed that he wasn't even trying to move out of the way.
"Elder Toguro has shot his drill shaped hand directly into Kuwabara's chest cavity!" Koto shouted, and the boys and I looked with wide eyes.
However, it wasn't because of Elder Toguro's drill aimed at Kuwabara's heart or that it hit him, but we were staring with wide eyes at what happened after that. The drill was trying to feverishly dig into Kuwabara's chest and pierce his heart, but it wouldn't even break through Kuwabara's suit. Strips of yellow Spirit Energy formed all over Kuwabara's body, his Energy skyrocketing to a level I thought that a ningen would ever reach. My eyes dropped open in shock, but relief was radiating through my body, especially when Elder Toguro's smirk dropped when he noticed he was causing Kuwabara any damage at all. The yellow Spirit Energy grew in color, surrounding Kuwabara almost completely, it glowing brightly as more of it flickered around the ningen's body. Holy shit...
"What's happening here?! I can't pierce your skin!" Elder Toguro yelled frustrated, eyes narrowing into a glare.
I narrowed my eyes even more. "What's going on?"
Kurama, apparently, was the only one that was even willing to answer me. "Kuwabara's strength and his resolve appear to be closely related." He explained, his eyes never leaving Kuwabara's form in the ring at all.
"Wow..." I mumbled, wide eyed.
Kuwabara continued to stare at the ground, his eyes shadowed over, but he suddenly lifted his head with the deadliest glare I had ever seen in his eyes. "You have no soul! You're just a nasty little waste of space! Now die!" He shouted as he rose his right hand, hundrets of yellow Spirit Energy spikes flying out of his palm, and I blinked in surprise, when was Kuwabara ever able to do something like that?!
Elder Toguro's eyes widened, seeing the spikes flying towards him. "Oh damn!" He shouted, his voice coated in fear.
Before Elder Toguro even had a chance to move, the spikes ripped through his body easily, blood spraying all around him. Despite how I hated the sight of blood and hated the sight of ripping skin, I watched with a cruel smirk on my lips. Elder Toguro's limbs were being continuously ripped from his body, shouts of pain falling from his lips this time around, and I couldn't be more happy about that. Sections of his arms, despite already being ripped from his torso, were being ripped apart from Kuwabara's attack, causing more blood to spray. His legs were the same way, as well as his waist. His arm fell away from Kuwabara's chest, turning back into his hand but it didn't quite reach him as he had no control over it anymore. The force of the attack caused Elder Toguro to fly through the air, and once the yellow spikes vanished, the insane bastard fell a few feet away, laying motionless in his own puddle of blood and among his discarded limbs. Good.
"Oh! Yet another new attack from Kuwabara! This one looks like a variation of his normal Spirit Sword!" Koto stared in shock as we all watched Elder Toguro wither in pain as he coughed up blood, before his eyes closed, his head lolling to the side. I smirked at that, crossing my arms over my chest. Finally. "Elder Toguro's left on the floor in a pile of assorted body parts, we may really get to chalk up an 'X' on the score board this go around!" She shouted as she watched Kuwabara breath heavily in the ring, staring at Elder Toguro's dead form.
"That was nice." Yusuke said with a smirk.
I smiled brightly at the red haired ningen. "That was awesome Kuwabara! The bastard deserved to fucking die!" I shouted happily, punching my fist in the air.
"I'll start the ten count!" Juri ran over to Elder Toguro's corpse, raising her hand."1! 2!" She counted.
Koto smiled brightly at the sight of the blood. "I've seen enough mauling and amputation in my day to know when a ten count isn't necessary, and this one definitely qualifies! Kuwabara has destroyed the Elder Toguro giving a 3-1 lead to Team Urameshi, one more like that and the championship is theirs!" She said happily, and I wasn't sure if it was because she was rooting for us or she was just happy about the blood. I think it's the second one...
"No question Koto, Yusuke will win the next one for sure, it's in the can!" George, in a stunning show of irony, was hit in the head with a soda can. "Hey! Who did that?! Don't make me put this horn into action mode!" He glared behind him as he held his head, but when he saw the glares behind directed at him he turned back to the front, coughing in his hand. "Yes as I was saying I think Team Toguro has an excellent chance at punching this victory as well! The fact is I'm neutral, either team can win. I know it's important for a color commentator to have opinions but in this case I'm out of sight!" He said with a 'composed' smile on his lips, while I sweat dropped at him. Oh George...
"What is he doing?" Koto mumbled, sweat dropping as well.
"3! 4! 5! 6!" Juri counted, bringing me back.
Kuwabara glared heatedly down at Elder Toguro's corpse. "Maybe honor doesn't matter to your kind Toguro, but it does to me!" He spat, turning around, holding his left arm as he walked towards us, clenching his teeth at the pain, and I couldn't help but frown at him. He's probably pissed at us, I could tell.
"7! 8!-" Juri suddenly stepped back, letting out of noise of disgust and fear. Uh oh...
Elder Toguro's eyes suddenly flew open, and my eyes widened with shock and fear, taking a step back. "Stop counting! Do you really think it's over?!" He shouted in a hoarse voice, his amber eyes showing complete anger and fury, and teh sound of his voice made Kuwabara stop instantly in his tracks. You couldn't blame him though, I mean how could you even begin to believe that someone who was pierced repeated through his arteries could survive something like that?!
All of us watched in shock and disgust as the muscles in Elder Toguro's arms, hands, legs, waist, torso and feet suddenly appeared out from under his ripped clothing. The pink and purple colored bodily matter slithered towards Elder Toguro's torso like snakes, and Toguro turned to Kuwabara with a wicked smirk. "I was only surprised for a moment. I didn't think you could attack me that way. I should be more careful." He said mockingly, while i had to swallow the bile that rose in my throat at the sights of his muscles joining together. I didn't care if this was serious, that was just plain gross!
*How is that even possible...?* I thought to myself shakily.
"What are you?!" Kuwabara asked with a glare, his body shaking with fear as he turned to the blood covered man.
Elder Toguro let out humorless chuckle. "Good question, I'd like to know that myself. I suppose you should ask the Tournament Committee who made my wish come true. I knew I'd become a youkai, the rest was just trial and error." The muscles that attached themselves back together formed back into their original spots, even the blood was lifting fromt the tiles. "You better conserve your Energy from now on. You're already hurt and I have yet to be." He said as he stood up, hos limbs now attached and his clothes that had been ripped apart formed back together as well.
"You're invincible!" Kuwabara shouted, his voice shaking as he took a step back.
Koto was now out of her seat, standing as she stared in shock and awe. "I need to retract my former statement, people! Elder Toguro is alive and he's clearly still in this match! Every time you think he's down he shows a new side of his talent! This guy's absolutely bizarre!" She shouted, while her voice was almost drowned out by the annoyed shouts of the youkai behind her at the lack of death in this match, while I rolled my eyes.
"The only chance you have of beating me and surviving, Kuwabara, is to pierce either my heart or my brain. But that's not very fair is it? It kind of like finding a needle in a hay stack. Except the needle can move whenever it chooses to!" Elder Toguro said, distorting his face mockingly before returning to 'normal'.
*This guy's fucking insane." I thought wide eyed.
"Just shut up!" Kuwabara demanded, his fists clenching at his side as he shook in anger and fear.
Elder Toguro smirked cruelly. "I think I'll just skip the search and send you straight to your death! Dont' forget to tell Genkai how much we miss her!" He shouted insanely as he let his five digits fly towards Kuwabara again.
My eyes widened as I watched them race towards Kuwabara, but they turned at the last second. However, that wasn't exactly a good thing at all. They turned, going around Kuwabara to get to his back, and each finger embedded itself into Kuwabara's arms and legs, lifting the red haired ningen into the air as he let out a shout of pain. The boys and I watched as Elder Toguro lifted Kuwabara into the air, reminding me too much of Kuwabara's first match against Rinku for comfort. Letting an insane laugh fall from his lips, Elder Toguro rose Kuwabara even higher before he let out a shout of glee, throwing his arm down, making Kuwabara shout as he was suddenly seeing the tiled ring coming closer to his face than it had been only a few short seconds ago.
This was NOT good.
Ending it here! This is probably my longest chapter ever, and despite how much I love writing this story, I'm glad this chapter is done! Ugh, I hate Elder Toguro! Well anyway, I hope you all like this chapter! Bye!
Now it was Hiei's turn to smirk. {I know.}
*Jerk.*
{Baka}
*Dick!*
{Brat.}
Bye!
