~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~
To say that the stadium was quiet was an understatement. The crowd was deathly silent, as if they didn't even dare to take in a breath as the two fighters in the ring stared the other down with narrowed eyes. The tension was thick, and since that fuck Elder Toguro practically screamed the reason as to why, that only made it even more apparent. The boys and I stared at the two with our eyes narrowed as well, and our bodies tense. This match could go either way from the feel of it, and that wasn't a really comforting thought considering this is Toguro we're talking about. We weren't doubting Yusuke's abilities at all, but we all knew from experience that it could be his day to die or it could not, so we had to be open to the possibility, no matter how hard that was.
“Greetings everybody from the heart of the Dark Tournament where the moment you've all been waiting for has finally arrived! Toguro vs Urameshi!” Koto said, breaking the tense silence. “Will the reigning champion steal another victory? Or will this year's now favorite guest team pull the off-set of the century and walk away with the prize? There's two points and one championship on the line!”
Next to Koto was George, sweat trickling down his face. “I can't take this kind of pressure! It reeks havoc on my ticker!” He grabbed his chest, groaning in pain. “On top of that I've got ulcers!” He said through clenched teeth, pain evident in his voice.
*Way to break the mood, George.* I thought slightly annoyed, rolling my eyes at him.
Turning my attention back to the ring, I narrowed my eyes, watching Yusuke step to the side. His eyes narrowed into a hard glare, while Toguro only stared back at him. My fists clenched tightly at my sides, the anticipation gnawing on my nerves, I hated fights like this. The deciding ones, I mean. The seconds passed with neither moving once again, but all eyes snapped to Toguro's form when we saw his hand move to his shirt. Unclasping his buttons, Toguro threw his shirt to the side, showing off his tan torso while I rolled my eyes. Despite this being serious and all, seeing someone who is so full of themselves like Toguro pulling off their shirt to show off their muscles really annoyed me.
“Pull your shirt back on!” Shizuru shouted from the stands. ...Apparently I'm not the only one! :D
“Urameshi!” Kuwabara shouted as he stepped forward, his hands clenched into fists as his sides. “Don't be intimidated by that stupid, steroid, half-naked freak!”
I cupped my hands around my mouth. “Pop his inflate-o-pecks!” I added.
I felt stares fall on my form, and I slowly dropped my hands from my mouth, turning to the boys. A sweat drop went down my temple when I saw four sets of eyes staring blankly down at me, and a blush of embarrassment went on my cheeks. I guess that wasn't the right time to make jokes, huh? Considering I tried to flash a cute smile and they just kept their stare, I guess it wasn't. But I could tell there were a few sweat drops going down their heads as well. ….Ha. :D
“This times for real.” Juri spoke up, gaining our attention. “Are you guys ready?” She asked as she stood between the two, waiting for any questions or objections.
Neither fighter said a thing.
“...Okay then, begin!” Juri shouted as she backed up, throwing her hand down.
The crowd instantly erupted into cheers, having anticipated this match since the whole start of this fucking tournament. It was obvious, though, who they were hoping to win. Toguro. I narrowed my eyes as they traveled over the youkai occupants in the stadium seats, screaming their heads off as they waited to see blood and death. Just the thought of what they wanted to happen to Yusuke made a chill run down my spine. Brushing off the negative thoughts that began to plaque my head, I quickly turned my gaze back to the ring, my eyes set firmly on the two that didn't move a single muscle.
“Well done Yusuke, at last the two of us fight again.” Toguro smirked down at the black haired ningen before him. “Only this time things are going to be different for you, I'm not throwing this fight for anyone.”
Yusuke glared. “Good 'cause now for me, it's personal.” He said coolly.
A different look appeared on Toguro's face, and I grimaced when I saw it. Toguro's face was contorted into a concentrated look and I felt his Youkai Energy begin to rise. “You don't think this is personal for me, too?! I'll start with 80%” He shouted through clenched teeth, his fists clenched as he focused even harder on the Energy coursing through him.
Wisps of purple Youkai Energy began to form around Toguro's body, and I bit my lip as it rose and rose. Toguro let out shouts as he brought more of the Energy out, his bogy beginning to bulge and expand. I grimaced despite my body's fear, watching Toguro's collar bone stick out more prominently as his muscles grew larger, making his skin become tighter. And when I thought that this wouldn't end, Toguro relaxed his concentrated stance, blue Youkai Energy taking the purple's place, it spreading around the whole stadium like a transparent blanket. My nerves were on high alert at the feeling, and I felt my body beginning to shake as I recalled the same strong Energy that I felt before Genkai was killed. Being so close to Toguro when he was like this made me realize how much worse it must have felt for Genkai. Yusuke...
But my worried thoughts were cut off when I heard the sound of screams come from the stands. Quickly looking away, I watched as most of the youkai suddenly burst into flames, their skin melting away almost instantly. I swallowed thickly, not liking that visual at all, thank you very much. If that's what it could do without Toguro touching anyone, how would it be when he actually started to attack? That little thought didn't really make me feel better at all, and my gaze rested on Yusuke again, worry filling my eyes. He better make it out of this alive or I swear to Koenma that I am going to go to where ever the hell he'll go to when he dies and kick his fucking ass!
“Amazing.” Hiei narrowed his eyes on Toguro's form, making me glance at him briefly. “Toguro's Youkai Energy is so strong that it's literally melting the flesh off the weaker apparitions.” He said, and his tone almost could have been called amazed, if Hiei weren't Hiei.
“Yeah, that's great.” I mumbled sarcastically, trying to calm my shaking body.
Kurama narrowed his eyes, feeling his body beginning to strain under the pressure. “They're not the only ones, I can't take much more in my present state.” He said quietly, and I knew how he felt.
“Not....a....problem!” Kuwabara said through clenched teeth, backing up. “I can....handle it!”
Before I could take a chance to say anything, Koenma stood in front of us. “Actually no you can't, Kuwabara. Now all of you, stick behind me” He said, spreading his arms out in front of us, an invisible barrier around the five of us as green electricity crackled, the blue Energy blocked. And I let out a sigh of relief, the pressure instantly lifting from my body.
I let out a whistle, staring at the barrier around us. “Wow, I didn't know you knew how to do anything except stamp and boss around George.” I said with a smirk, throwing a mocking look at Koenma, not noticing another smirk light someone's lips.
“Kira, don't make me throw you out of this barrier.” Koenma growled, throwing me a glare as an irk mark pulsed on his temple. At first I thought he was kidding, but quickly realized he wasn't. Uh oh...
Before the others could blink I hid behind Hiei, throwing a glare at Koenma. “Try it and you die.”
Koenma couldn't help but send a satisfied smirk at me, with made me glare harder at him as he turned back towards the ring. Crossing my arms over my chest, I didn't move from my spot, not even caring for the annoyance that was radiating from the fire youkai before me. I wasn't moving because I didn't trust Koenma at all, the stupid little brat would probably try to push me out once I tired to go back to my original spot. I did NOT want to die, thank you!
{Onna, get away from me.} But apparently Hiei didn't care for my life...
If he was looking at me I would have stared at him like he was crazy. *No! You're the only one keeping me from dieing!* I almost shouted, but remembered that would hurt him, I'm not that mean I do love the guy!
And if I could see him, he would be glaring at me. {I'm not repeating myself.} He said annoyed.
*Hiei I'm not sure if you noticed, but shields don't talk so shut up.* I snapped right back at him, an irk mark on my temple, I swear to god can this guy never let things go the way I want them to?! NO!
{Excuse me?} Hiei growled, an irk mark appearing.
I smirked now. *You're excused.*
But my smirk fell when my eyes widened, realization finally hitting me again. Yusuke was fighting Toguro right now -well they weren’t moving, but still-, and I was acting like an idiot. Stopping myself from hitting my head against the wall, I threw my wide eyes over to the two in the ring especially when I heard Toguro's shoes tapping against the tiles. I bit my lip in worry, my eyes landing on Yusuke's form, wondering if he was going to move or not. And when I thought that Yusuke suddenly kicked off into a run, heading straight towards the seemingly invincible opponent before him. The boys and I stared at Yusuke with wide eyes, gasps of surprise spilling from our lips. I stepped out from behind Hiei, needing to see as much of the ring as I could. Yusuke better NOT be acting stupid right now!
As Yusuke drew closer to Toguro's form, he balled his right hand into a fist, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the larger man before him. Pulling his fist back, his eyes snapped down to Toguro's as he did the same thing but that didn't stop Yusuke. The next thing the rest of us knew, we watched as Toguro and Yusuke threw their punches at the other in perfect unison. Yusuke's fist landed into Toguro's stomach painfully, while Toguro's slammed into Yusuke's chin, each punch sending an echo around the stadium that made me flinch. They both stood there for a second, their punches sinking in until Toguro put more pressure on Yusuke's chin, sending the boy back.
However, Yusuke caught himself, his feet sliding against the tiles sending dust into the air. Placing his hand on the ground, Yusuke pushed off to regain his balance, sending him back towards Toguro's form. Having the moment of the push on his side, Yusuke flew towards Toguro, his fist pulled back once again. But as he drew it back and sent it forward, all he hit was air as Toguro appeared behind him, his fist raised as well. Yusuke narrowed his eyes and I opened my mouth to shout, but that died away in my mouth as Toguro sent his fist down towards Yusuke, only for the ningen to flip himself around in the air, dodging the punch by nearly an inch. Letting out a sigh of relief, I watched as Yusuke pulled back his leg, it connecting with Toguro's temple, allowing both an attack and a way of escaping the danger zone.
*Holy shit...* I mumbled, my eyes wide.
I stared after Yusuke's form as he flew good distance away from Toguro, just in time for Toguro's punch to land on the ground. However the relief I had instantly went away when I saw the force of the punch hit the stone tiles. Red Youkai Energy spilled from his fist, sending it through the tiles, ripping them up and shooting them into the air. Dust from the debris filled the air, and I was so glad that the barrier Koenma put around us was still here. My eyes snapped back to Toguro's form, seeing him turn to Yusuke as the black haired ningen landed sloppily onto his feet. Raising his hand Toguro slashed it down towards the ground his Energy splitting the tiles once again, but this time towards Yusuke. The tiles ripped and flew at the ningen who barely had enough time to get to his feet. However, he barely dodged a chunk of cement aimed at his head at the last second, only gaining a gash on his right cheek.
Yusuke flinched but ignored it as he jumped, avoiding the red Energy that ripped the ring apart, it slamming into the crowd behind him. Landing on the ring once again, Yusuke fell to his left knee, but his eyes widened as he caught Toguro moving towards him out of his peripheral vision, his fist raised. Taking a sharp intake of air, Yusuke got to his feet and stood his ground, holding his hands out in front of himself. My eyes widened considerably, watching as the distance between them grew smaller and smaller with each passing millisecond. I have no idea what Yusuke has in mind to stop Toguro who is heading straight towards him, but if he manages to survive it, I'm all good but that didn't quell the worry that raged inside me.
Kuwabara took a step forward. “What?! Are you crazy?! There's no way in Heck you can block his straight-on punch!” He shouted, his eyes widening as he clenched his fist tightly in worry as well.
*Be okay...* I thought quietly, my hands clasped in front of my chest.
Toguro pulled back his fist, and I flinched visibly at the force that I could practically see going into that punch. And with his Youkai Energy packed into that punch as well, if Yusuke got hit with that and wasn't able to block it then... I shook my head, not wanting to think of that. Hearing Toguro's shout I snapped my attention back to them, seeing Toguro send his fist forward while Yusuke continued to stand his ground, his hands positioned in the same way they had been moments before. His brown eyes were formed into a cold stare, never wavering from Toguro's form. And...
...Toguro's fist stopped mere inches from Yusuke's hands.
Toguro slowly straightened up from his stance, his eyes narrowed on the Spirit Detective. “I see the way you look at me in judgment. But you have no idea what its like, do you? To lose your beloved?” He asked, his voice low, but there was a hidden anger in them.
“No, and I never will because I won't let that happen. I actually look forward to growing old with her.” Yusuke said as calmly as he could, but I could hear the edge growing in his words.
Toguro turned his gaze towards Keiko. “You say that now-”
“Stop it!” Yusuke stepped between Toguro's view, his eyes narrowed dangerously. “This is between you and me!” He growled, and I knew that this wasn't the time or anything like that, but I couldn't help but think that was absolutely adorable xD. Those two are so cute, even if this is a life or death situation.
Koto blinked.“Whoa! Now Toguro's stopped mid-punch to chat with Urameshi! I wish you could here what they were chatting about.” She announced.
“Those fools, why don't they stop dancing around each other and fight?” Hiei narrowed his eyes angrily, a frown on his lips. “One must never let emotions enter the ring, that was a mistake.”
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at that, and just to be clear I'm not being bias because Yusuke was adorable right now. ...Kind of. *Oh, don't you even try to say that you wouldn't act the same way if you had someone important to you almost being threatened.* I thought glancing at Hiei out of the corner of my eye, and a second later I watched him glance back at me.
{I wouldn't because I don't have someone, Onna.} He said, eyes narrowing more.
I hid the small hope that formed in my heart, not wanting to seem too excited about that statement. Even if that sounds mean. *Not now, but you might one day.* I answered nonchalantly as possible.
{...Hn.} Hiei...said?
*Is that a 'you may be right' or 'I'm making noises just to piss you off' kind of answer?* I asked, my eyes narrowing in confusion.
Hiei clenched his fist in annoyance. {Shut up, Onna.}
*You're mean!* I whined, pouting.
Hiei crossed his arms over his chest as he smirked, apparently amused by my irritation. Asshole. {I never said I was nice.} He said, the smirk easily being heard in his voice as well, but I let that slip by because I'm nice like that. ...Cough.
*You are at times, though!* I countered smiling.
{I'm sure.} Hiei said as he rolled his eyes, his tone sarcastic.
I frowned. *You are!*
{Fine, let me humor you.} I ignored the sarcasm that heavily coated his voice. {When was I ever nice, Onna?} He asked feigning interest, but I didn't let that get under my skin.
I smiled to myself, that was actually a pretty easy question to answer. Surprisingly. *You brought me to Yukina so I could get my wrist healed. You helped me cheat in Go Fish. You made those perverted youkai back off on the boat over here. You saved me from falling debris. You saved me from Kane when he broke my wrist. You helped me train before my match with Kane. You took the picture with us a few days ago when you could have just left when Yusuke and Kurama let you go. You-*
{And you remember all this because?} Hiei asked, an irk mark beginning to pulse on his temple.
*....Pass?* I asked hesitantly, a blush appearing on my cheeks.
{Baka.} Hiei rolled his eyes.
I resisted the urge to smack him upside the head like he always does to me. *Shut up!* I snapped, my own irk mark pulsing on my temple at the 'idiot' remark. That stupid jerk! I was telling him he was nice! ...Wait. This IS Hiei we're talking about...
Toguro shoes patted against the stone tiles, pulling Hiei and I out of our conversation, and our eyes snapped towards the ring once again. Toguro was staring Yusuke down as he walked towards him slowly, causing the Spirit Detective to take a few steps back and to the side, his eyes narrowing. Both fighters stood staring the other down, and I swallowed thickly, not liking the feel of the atmosphere at all. The boys and I stood rigidly still and the crowd was unusually silent for once which didn't help my feelings in the least. I guess they could tell something big was going to happen, too. Great...
“It's time.” Toguro got out of his stance. “You have something to prove to me, Urameshi. Show me that your master did not sacrifice her strength for you in vain.” He said with a sadistic smirk on his lips.
“Right. I'll show you.” Yusuke smirked, holding his right hand towards the ground, his index finger out.
I narrowed my eyes at the position that Yusuke's right hand was in, seeing it in that familiar gun shape. However, that wasn't why I was narrowing my eyes, it was because of the Energy that he was putting into his index finger. With each second the Energy was growing stronger and stronger, making my skin prick at the amounts of Energy that were beginning to fill the air. Yusuke and Toguro didn't seem to be affected by it at all, both staring the other down with narrowed eyes as neither of them moved an inch. Juri, who stood a few feet away stared at the two with confusion in her eyes, wondering why they were just standing there.
“You all right?” Juri asked Toguro before she turned her attention to Yusuke. “And you?”
Neither fighter said another back, and Koto took the silence as a chance to speak. “Following an action packed beginning, what we've got on our hands here is a good old fashioned stand off! But now it seems that Yusuke focusing his Energy into that trusty right index finger!” She announced, eyes narrowed.
“Use it! Blast him with your Spirit Gun!” George shouted next to her.
Toguro narrowed his eyes at Yusuke, a frown on his lips. “So, she didn't teach you any new tricks? I want to see everything that Genkai gave you.” He said with a growl in his voice, it sending a chill down my spine at the sound of it.
“Hold on, Urameshi got something from Genkai before she died? Like a gift?” Kuwabara asked.
“Yes, but not exactly the sort of gift with wrapping and a bow, Kuwabara “Koenma said, not taking his eyes off the two in the ring. “More like her gift, you know, what made Genkai special. She gave him the Energy that she had stored for decades.” He explained, and my eyes widened at the sound of it. Genkai gave Yusuke all of her powers? Wow...
Kuwabara's eyes widened. “How much power did she give him?!”
“I don't know, but I'm guessing it all.” Koenma said, still not glancing at Kuwabara, who looked back at the ring, his eyes falling on Yusuke in slight shock.
“This should be fun.” Hiei mumbled.
I couldn't help but nod, but my fists were clenched. “Kill the fucker, Yusuke.” I said softly.
Our eyes locked onto Yusuke's form as a soft blue glow began to appear around him, and small strings of light began to form around his index finger, building up a small blue orb that sat at the tip. His Spirit Energy grew stronger and stronger, making my eyes widen even more, having never felt Yusuke this strong before and after only a couple of days. I knew that Genkai was strong, but this was unreal considering it was mixed with Yusuke's original strength. Hope began to grow stronger in my heart, but I kept my face stoic, we could finally get out of this damn place and leave! But I stopped my hopeful thoughts, seeing Yusuke slowly raise his finger, pointing it at Toguro steadily. Come on...
“Fire!” Kuwabara shouted, sweat trickling down his temple.
The seconds ticked away, and I had to squint as I saw the orb growing brighter and brighter, something that I didn't think it could do. Toguro kept his face stoic, but I could see the beginnings of a smirk play on his lips as he moved around slightly, hoping to use the distance to his advantage. However, what happened next surprised the hell out of everyone. Yusuke's Spirit Gun seemed to grow larger before...it disappeared into nothing. Kicking off the ground, Yusuke raced towards Toguro while the boys and I stared at Yusuke with wide eyes. All we could do was stare at him in shock as he began to punch rapidly at Toguro's stomach, with Toguro actually moving backwards at the strength of them.
With each punch Yusuke was throwing more of his strength into them, and I could hear small grunts come from Toguro's direction, making a small smile play on my lips. But that instantly dropped when I saw Toguro clench his left fist, throwing it down at Yusuke's head. I was tempted to shout for him to move, but stopped when I saw Yusuke had already seen it coming, jumping into the air in time to avoid the red Youkai Energy that split the ring just below his feet before it slammed into the crowd behind him.
Landing on his feet Yusuke narrowly missed a kick that was aimed at his head. Catching himself, Yusuke grabbed Toguro's outstretched leg and used it to give him momentum as he pushed himself into the air. Flipping over Toguro's head, Yusuke turned his body, slamming his foot directly into Toguro's face, and I couldn't help but flinch when I saw the Spirit Energy be fused into the kick as well. However before I could smirk, I saw the ground beneath Toguro's feet begin to crack, some of the tiles lifting into the air, throwing Yusuke off balance, and my eyes widened as he flipped in the air, his eyes wide as well. Oh shit...
“Lets kick this up a notch, shall we?” Toguro asked, smiling at Yusuke sadistically.
Toguro pulled his fist back, red Youkai Energy building up at a fast rate and my eyes widened when I felt the power. Yusuke's eyes widened considerably when he saw it coming towards his face, and moved himself out of the way at the last second, however he didn't get very far away from Toguro than he would have liked. Despite Toguro's fist missing Yusuke, it slammed into the ring and from the pressure and strength from the Youkai Energy, the ring began to crack as the Energy began to expand. Yusuke gritted his teeth as the Energy went around him before the ring burst into nothing but pebbles and rocks.
My eyes widened as I watched Yusuke and Juri fly into the air with what was left of the ring, and I snapped my eyes to Yusuke form as he narrowly missed hitting some of the larger rocks around him. However I let out a sigh of relief when I saw Yusuke finally get his balance back, latching onto one of the large peace of stone, before he pushed off. Turning away from where Yusuke had been before, my eyes traveled over to Toguro's form as he jumped into the air, looking around at the flying debris that littered the air around him.
“Come out, come out, Yusuke!” Toguro shouted, that smirk on his lips.
Hearing something to his left, Toguro turned towards it, and the boys and I did as well. I smirked at what I saw through the stones, while Toguro frowned slightly. Yusuke was upside down at his hand was in that familiar shape once again, but I knew this time he was going to use it. Now that Toguro was in the air, he had no way of being able to dodge it, even if he was far away. Seeing the bright blue Spirit Energy forming on the tip of Yusuke's index finger, I couldn't help but smirk at the strength he put into it. Turning to Toguro, I waited for the two words from our favorite Spirit Detective that would set this all into motion.
“Spirit Gun.”
Once those words left Yusuke's lips, a large, fat stream of blue Spirit Energy flew from the orb and headed straight towards Toguro's form. If we could see Toguro's eyes through his sunglasses, I bet they would have widened at least slightly. I heard what I believe was a shout escape his lips just seconds before the Spirit Gun hit him dead on, the shot almost consuming him in the bright light. The smile finally broke out onto my face completely, seeing the darker blue shade in the Spirit Gun that was Toguro as he was pushed back thanks to the strength of it.
“Bulls eye!” Kuwabara shouted, his expression could be best described as shocked.
Koenma with him. “That's direct hit!”
Kurama and Hiei only stared with slightly wide eyes.
Despite the amazing sight before me, I wasn't shocked in the least, mostly happy and very cocky. “That's what you get you fucking bastard!” I shouted over the loud rumbling and the sound of the Spirit Gun, a wide smirk on my lips. I'd like to see Toguro get up after that attack!
Pulling his hand back as the last of his Spirit Gun left his index finger, and he flipped himself over, landing on the ground in a crouch, his eyes still narrowed. Toguro's form finally shot back through the air, a loud shout finally escaping Toguro's lips as he neared the stands. All wide eyes watched as a loud crack and explosion reached our ears, seeing Toguro's form as well as the Spirit Gun rip through the stadium walls, leaving a gaping hole in their wake as they speed into the forest outside, away from us. Despite not being able to see him, we could still hear the Spirit Gun as it ripped through the ground, rocks, trees and anything else that happened to be in its way and the large stream of black smoke that rose in the air. There was no sound as the Spirit Gun's bullet finally evaporated into nothing and a thick silence fell over everyone, everyone not daring to speak. Holy shit...
...Well not everyone. “The usually rather vibrant crowd looks on in stunned silence! I don't think anybody saw that one coming, especially not Toguro's whose been blown out of the stadium!” Koto announced, her eyes wide as she stared at the huge hole opposite her.
“I knew that boy could do it!” George shouted, tears sitting in his eyes.
“U-uh...” The sound of that groan brought me out of my staring, and I turned to see Juri get up from the rubble, a rock on her head. “Where am I? And who am I?” She asked before she slipped, the rock going into the air above her head before it smashed back down onto it. And I rolled my eyes as I watched the girl groan and face plant into the ground once again.
“Hey lady get up and snap out of it!” Kuwabara shouted to her, eyes narrowed. “You got a job to do! There's a fighter out of the ring and you better start counting like you're always doin' for me!”
Hiei crossed his arms, annoyed. “Take a moment to look where Yusuke's standing.”
Kuwabara blinked as he looked at where the ring use to be, and I followed as well. Where it once sat was brown scorched ground with chunks of rocks sticking out of the dirt. If it weren't for those rocks I would have wondered if there ever was a ring there before. I let out a low whistle at the sight of it, so glad that Yusuke was able to dodge the attack when he did or he would be like the ring. I flinched at the thought, not liking the visual I just gave myself, but I snapped out of my thoughts, what was the point in worrying about something that didn't happen? Nothing, so :P me!
Kuwabara faltered for a second. “Hey, how the heck do you get back in the ring?” He asked, staring at the ring with wide, confused eyes.
“In this final battle there will be no boundaries.” Kurama explained seriously.
Hiei stepped forward, his eyes narrowed onto Yusuke's form. “The only rules are kill or be killed.” He said bluntly, and I really didn't like the sound of that at all, for obvious reason mind you, but still.
*Well that sure makes this fucking match a lot harder, now doesn't it?* I thought with a frown.
“Yusuke is much stronger now than I ever imagined a ningen could be.” Hiei said, his attention on the Spirit Detective that lingered near the hole in the stadium wall.
“Yet Toguro didn't even bother to block his attack.” Kurama pointed out gravely.
Hiei clenched his fists. “If Toguro can escape a blast like that powerful unscathed, there's not telling what else he might be capable of.” He said, and I swear he could almost be called worried. Almost.
I sniffed angrily as I crossed my arms over my chest in irritation. “Of course, that stupid, fucking bastard can't just die easily for us. He has to make our lives even more of a living hell. How fun.” I hissed sarcastically, my hands gripping my arms tightly, and I swear I could already feel bruises beginning to form. Oops.
“Look will you two stop being such a 'glass is half-empty' kind of people for two seconds?” Kuwabara asked Hiei and I, his tone annoyed. “Except it! There's absolutely in heck no way that guys ever coming back in anything other than an ash tray!
“Lets just hope that’s whats going to happen.” I mumbled worriedly.
Kuwabara rolled his eyes.
I turned my attention away from the frowning ningen teen, and turned to Yusuke's form. He had stayed in front of the hole Toguro had made moments before and hasn't moved at all since then. And considering his expression hasn't changed, that wasn't good. To add to that statement, a second later I saw Yusuke's eyes widen ever so slightly before they narrowed once again. Not liking the look of that, the boys and I looked into the hole as well, only to stare in shock when we saw a completely unscathed Toguro standing there. The only things that took damage were his ripped jeans and his non-existent sunglasses, which revealed his beady black eyes. My mouth hung open, watching as Toguro stepped back into the stadium, the crowd around us exploding into confused jumbles of incoherent words.
“Is that all you got for me? I expected more from Genkai!” Toguro asked, his eyes narrowed angrily.
Kuwabara let out a shout of fear, stumbling back before he fell on his ass, his face contorted in horror. “He's invincible! That's the only explanation for it!” He shouted, his voice shaking as he stared at Toguro's form with wide eyes.
“That's...not good.” Koenma mumbled, sweat trickling down his face.
“Oh shit this is bad...” I whispered shakily.
Koto nearly jumped out of her feet, eyes intently on the two fighters.“Whoa! Look at him people! Toguro has miraculously risen from the dead! Runs in the family, I guess! There's not so much as a single scratch on this giant brute! The only difference is his shades are gone! And what piercing eyes he has!” She shouted/announced in complete shock, and I was too shaken to even glare at her.
However, my attention wouldn't stay on Koto for long, not like it ever has but you know what I mean. Toguro's Youkai Energy suddenly burst out around him in an array or purple and orange colors, swirling and coiling around him dangerously. My skin shivered at the feeling of it, and I would have tried to get as much distance away from Toguro as I could, but a certain fire youkai moved in front of my slightly in a stance that could almost be called protective. Almost, because this is still Hiei I'm talking about. Biting my lip I looked around him slightly, seeing Toguro's Energy fly at Yusuke, causing the Spirit Detective to raise his arms as he was slowly being pushed back just by the pressure alone.
“I was foolish to depend onto you rising to this occasion.” Toguro spoke, his tone cold as he glared down at Yusuke's form. “I wanted to test you to see if you were really strong enough to compete with me. Obviously my standing here means that you failed, so there's no need for me to go to full power. I'll finish this as I am.” He said, not even flinching at the glare that formed in Yusuke's eyes.
The boys and I stood, watching the two stand in a stare-off once again, waiting for them to continue.
And I had a feeling this wouldn't end soon.
Ending it here! Sorry this is such a short chapter! Most of the episode was fighting so that's basically why this wasn't in the usual nine thousand to ten thousand words as it usually is. I hope you liked this regardless, and I'll see you in the next chapter! Bye!

Hiei clenched his fist in annoyance. {Shut up, Onna.}
Bye!
