As she walked down the stairs she tried to ignore the pinched feeling coming from her shoulders. She hated having to keep her wings in all the time. She followed the girl down, wishing bitterly that it was Mika, she was the only one that understood how the girl felt being trapt here. The fact that some of the other girls thought she actually ENJOYED being here just proved how dumb they all were, so she didn't care too much whether they liked her or not. She cringed again as one of her wings shifted and tried to stretch a little. She had to get her mind off of it so she tried to think of escape. She still had some bobby-pins so she were going to try to pick the lock on her leg shackle and fly out her window tonight, after the show. She hadn't told anyone that she were a demon, not even Mika. It wasn't that she didn't want to, she just never had told anyone ever since the incident. It was too risky, and she didn't want anyone to get involved if they were just going to get hurt or worse, disappear like her clan. She stopped that thought train before it left the station, she was NOT going down that road again, not when she had stuff to do. She hated feeling self-pity and had refused to wallow in it for some years now, and were not about to start.
Instead of focusing on that she tried to think about the song she would sing. She decided on singing it in English (we'll just pretend that everyone talks in Japanese, I was forced to learn Spanish by the evil school systems and I refuse to learn another language, no matter for what). That way she could sing what she really felt and no one would be the wiser. She doubted that any of the demons that came to the bar knew English, some barely spoke Japanese, their native tongue. 'Idiots' she thought wirely. Somehow a breeze found its way into the passage way and she shivered. That was another thing she hated about being here, the dresses she was forced to wear. Tonights selection was a silver dress that really accented her dark hair and eyes. It also made her skin have a nice glow to it. With the heels on she stood just over 5'2 (told ya she was short in the 1st ch.) Her eyes were coated in a thick layer of silver eye shadow and she thanked all that was good and holy that she was born with naturally rosy cheeks and a clean complexion so she didn't have to pile on the makeup. The dress was cut really low in both the back and in the front, showing off more then she ever would have liked. So far no one had noticed that her shoulder blades were slightly larger then normal and stuck out a little bit more, but she supposed that was due to the fact they were too busy staring at more obvious body parts then her shoulder blades. She shuddered slightly just thinking about having to go out there. She dispised it, to put it mildly. She hated being forced to sing, but what choice did she have? She shivered again, but this time it wasn't from the cold. All day she had had an off feeling in the pit of her stomach, and she knew it wouldn't end well. She tried to shake it off but it was still there, knawing away at her insides.
At last she reached the back of the stage, just behind the curtain. She arrived just in time to hear the end of a song one of the demons at the bar was singing. She winched, it always hurt her ears to hear bad singers, and drunken demons trying is not the most appealing sound. The catcalls and jeers that greated her ears at the announcement that she were about to come out were no better. She quickly conversed with the band, deciding on singing a few songs before the grand finale of the night, the song she had written. She took a deep breath (eventually she will have a name, I just haven't figured out what I want it to be yet, so...yeah) and stepped out to face the crowd. She squinted in the bright light, her eyes quickly adjusting. The announcers voice rang clear "And now what we have all been waiting for, our own dark siren Kali! (it means "the dark one" and Nyx is her nickname/last name type of deal and it means "night" I think they're fitting) She drew in a shakey breathe and began her first song. The response was immediate, the room quited at once and some demons even appeared to pure. Her sweet voice floated around the room, seeming to draw them off to happy memories. She started with a slow song, then next went into a faster paced one. Some demons tried to dance, tried being the operative word. After about an hour of this she knew it was time to do the last song, her song. (Im having trouble finding a song so Im gonna end the chapter here, what happens next is...shocking at least I think it will be hehe.)
