Chapter 4:Endless Rows of Veggie Heads and an Almost Dead Urameshi!
Yumiko kept cutting through the endless rows of cultivated humans.''This IS not how I was planning my reunion with Yusuke!I swear,I see him for the first time in four years,and what happens!?I'm dragged off to an alternate dimension fighting hordes and hordes of these sick looking vegetable faced evil psycho brainless monkey creatures!!!!!!!ARRRRRGH!''Yumiko shoved her sword through and through more of the brainless zombies.''This SUCKS!"
Yusuke was quite loudly agreeing with her when suddenly there was a loud.*BEEP*Yusuke opened his communication mirror.''WHAT IS IT BOTAN!?I'M KIND OF BUSY AT THE MOMENT!" ''I'm sorry Yusuke but we have a problem!It seems all of the people taken over by the Makai insects are all focused on one target!And it happens to be Keiko!''Yusuke looked shocked.''Why didn't you say that in the first place!?''He closed the mirror and looked for a way to get into the tower.He spotted a window not far up.He stood back to back with Yumiko,and called for everyone else.''Kurama,Kuwabara,Hiei!"The others rushed over.
Yusuke pointed at the window.''That's my way up!''
Yumiko nodded.''Okay then,are you thinking what I'm thinking?''Everyone stared at Kuwabara. He backed away.''WHY IS IT ALWAYZ MEEEE!?"Kuwabara ran forward and cleared a path of the cultivated humans.
He knelt down.''This is gonna hurt...''Kurama ran after him and hopped on his back,follwed by Hiei,and then by Yumiko.Yumiko prepared for Yusuke's landing.Yusuke gave a large jump and pushed up from Yumiko's back,landing safely on the window sill.''Maybe I should try out for cheerleading!''he yelled.He gave a thumbs up and made his way back around to the tower.
Everyone hopped off of Kuwabara's now aching back.
Yumiko rubbed her own."Owwwww.When we get back,I am SO putting Yusuke on a diet!...And getting him some soft soled shoes...''More of the creepily ugly creatures ran at her.She waved her hand at them.''Bring it on.''
Yumiko slashed and hacked again,and finally got tired of swinging her katana around.''You know what?I'm tired of this BS.Time for some hand to hand combat!"
Yumiko then turned on her heel,delivering a nasty kick to about five of the veggie heads,knocking them over the ledge and into the abyss below.She plunged her katana into the ground and swung around on the handle,doing the same to about ten more.She restrapped it to her back and checked to see how Hiei and Kurama were coming along.Hiei was still hacking and cutting in the true youkai style,and Kurama seemed totally invincible,muscles straining as he used his Rose Whiplash to decimate the remaining veggie heads blocking the entrance.Kuwabara(the baka..sorry I just have to say that at least once in every chap!^.^)didn't notice however and tried used his Spirit Sword as a pole vault.This resulted in him missing the window by about five feet and him clinging desperately to the wall.''Fool,''Hiei called,''We've already cleared a path!"
Kuwabara looked ready to cry,and Yumiko watched as he slid down the wall in apparent agony.He finally hit the ground blowing on his hands.''AHH!They burn!"Yumiko raised an eyebrow(cuz thats her thing!)and looked disapprovingly at Kuwabara.''Remind me to hurt you when we get back to our world.''Hiei,Kurama, and Yumiko ran up the winding staircase with Kuwabara trailing behind.And guess what?''More Cultivated Humans!''Kurama called back.
Hiei stepped forward.''Guess we'll just have to slaughter these too!"Yumiko liked how he thought,but since this was a staircase she couldn't exactly use anything but her katana.She pulled it out of the sheath.
"Ready Hiei!?''she yelled.He nodded and both rushed at the sickeningly lifeless monsters.She ducked as one tried to deliver a blow,and turned the sword over,delivering a cruel uppercut of her own.Hiei was using his speed as a weapon,slicing and dicing one or two,then moving on to the next group of them.Kurama was having a seemingly easy time of it,but Yumiko knew that he was struggling as much as any of them.Kuwabara however was swinging his Spirit Sword like crazy.Yumiko fell in beside Kurama.''That fool has no skill with a sword whatsoever!''Kurama slashed at his opponents.''Yes,but you must give him credit for trying.''Hiei returned to the group with a swift jump.
''You're praising him for a lousy job,Kurama.He's never going to get any better if you keep doing that.''
Kuwabara looked away from the veggie heads.''I heard that!All of you are talking behind my back!Jeez,some friends you guys are!!"Yumiko chuckled.''You're my ally right now Kuwabaka,I never said anything about you being my friend!And hey think again about what Hiei said.He meant that you have a chance of gettting better,and at least one of us thinks so.I still think you'll always be weak.''Yumiko jumped over Kuwabara and struck one of the humanoids.''See?You didn't even realize that this one was behind you.Pshh,pathetic.''
A loud sound resonated above them,and some bits of rock fell from the ceiling.Hiei smirked.''I suppose that mea's Suzaku is getting desperate.''Yumiko finished off the last of the cultivated humans.''I never wanna see one of those things again.Come on,I've cleared the way!"More loud booms were heard,and Yumiko saw lightning strike the sky from a small window to the side.
She kept her sword out and turned sharply to the right,but there was a great empty space below,an abyss with an unreachable bottom.She kept her balance for a few seconds,and then started to fall forward.''Ahhh-AH!"
She closed her eyes as she started to fall,and then felt a strong arm pull her up around the waist.She opened her eyes as her feet felt solid ground.She turned around,only to see......Kuwabaka!(hahaha I'm sorry people but come on!I find this hilarious!)Kuwabara struck a pose.''Ha!What do you have to say to your savior now!?"Her eye twitched.''AHHHHHHH!You could have grabbed my arm or something!HOW DARE YOU GRAB MY WAIST!PERVERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Yumiko slammed Kuwabara's face into a wall,fuming.Kurama held her back.''Now now,Yumi,calm down before you do any more damage.I think you've caused Kuwabara here more pain than he's ever experienced in his whole life.''
Kurama gave Yumiko a slight smile.Yumiko blushed hard and folded her arms.Kuwabara gave a goofy grin,(with a few less teeth),and fell from the wall.He twitched.
Kurama looked at the giant gap between the stairs.''I see,this could pose as a problem.''Hiei stepped forward.''Come now Kurama,use your head.''Hiei drew back and launched his katana in the wall about halfway to the other side.Kurama nodded.''I see the plan.''Kurama took a rose from his hair and transformed it into his rose whip.He lashed out with it and made a rope to swing to the other side.''Everyone hold on tight.''Everyone,holding onto Kurama,swung over to the other side.A familiar boom sounded overhead,but this time it was much louder than before.Hiei looked up.''It sounds like the battle is over,but I can hardly sense any of Yusuke's energy.''Kurama nodded.''We best be getting up there.''
Everyone ran up the the last of the stairs,and Yumiko caught her breath as they entered a room filled with rubble,the sky exposed overhead from what seemed like an explosion,and Yusuke's ragged form lying on the ground.Another body,one with golden hair,also graced the ground with its presence.Kurama looked at it.''Must be Suzaku...''
Yumiko ran to Yusuke.She fell to her knees and shook him by the shoulders.''Yusuke?Yusuke!?YUSUKE!!!''she cried.A single tear rolled down her cheek,and Hiei felt a sharp pain in his heart as it fell.She buried her head in Yusuke's shirt.''I lost you once Yusuke.....''she lifted her head up as Kurama kneeled down.''He isn't dead yet,but his heart is slowing down...He's lost almost all of his life energy.''Kuwabara stepped forward.''Then I'll give him some of mine!''Kuwabara placed his hands over Yusuke,and a light emitted from them,going into Yusuke.Kuwabara then proceded to collapse to the ground.''Now we'll have to carry them both back.''
Kurama smiled.''But at least they're both Ok...''Yumiko stepped beside Hiei.''I'll help you carry back Yusuke...''Hiei nodded,and they each threw one of his arm's around each of their shoulders.
Kurama slung Kuwabara over his back.''Well....this was an interesting trip.''Yumiko nodded and looked over at Hiei,who looked away with a faintly noticeable blush rising on his cheeks.She smiled.'Yes....it was...very interesting...'
