Yo I'm back!I'd like to thank all of the reviewers,I've never seen so many reviews in my email at once!I mean wow,it made me feel all good inside,ya know?But anyways thank you for your support,I'll try to continue the story as best I can,but school is about to start back up on Monday,and I won't be updating as much.For that I am truly sorry,but I will however update whenever I get the chance.And as my parents have limited my computer acess to 1 hour a day....you get the point.But summer isn't that far away,and you can be sure that I'll be coming up with a lot of new ideas.Screw the sunlight,screw the beach,I'm sticking to my computer!
I shall take advantage of my 1 hour time limit and typing skills and try to have a new chapter up each week,if not,you know I have my reasons.I also happen to be working on my school's Medival Fair in April,and this summer I have to do 25 life sketches for pre AP Art admission next year.Thats not so bad,but figuring out what to sketch is going to be the problem...
Hiei:Man,that bites.
Rain: YEAH I KNOW!
Hiei:Need a hug?
Rain X-(: YESSSSSS!*crying*
Hiei:There there.....want me to kill your parents?
Rain:No,they pay for my internet acess.

Rain:I have realized that Kurama is my true love,you are just my boy toy. ^.^

Chapter 7:For love of the Ice maiden
Yumiko stepped out of the shower and reflected on the past two weeks.Hiei had left yesterday and her mother was coming home today.She sighed.These had been the best two weeks of her life,and Hiei was showing her a side of himself that she doubted anyone else had seen in a long time,or ever for that matter.She smiled.This was probably a very good thing.Her smile turned to a frown.But still,she had gotten used to having Hiei around all the time...things weren't going to be the same around here for a long time.
She grabbed a towel,wrapped it around herself and headed to her room.She checked her closet and pulled out a black pair of khaki pants and and a normal black cotton shirt.She slipped them on and sighed as she looked at her hair.She'd have Shizuru cut it like hers when she saw her next.She turned around and picked up her sword,then strapped it to her back,putting on a black trenchcoat on next.The handle of the sword was covered by her hair,a perfect camoflauge.She smirked and imagined herself chasing Kuwabara and decapitating him.Her dreams were sadly interrupted when a voice came from behind her.
''So,you are the one,are you?The human girl that helped defeat the Four Saint Beats?Hmmm,you don't look powerful but some demons would pay a lot of money to torture you.''Yumiko whirled around to face a huge purple beast,looking much like a Minotaur.
''What are you doing here!?Get out now!''The Minotaur-like creature laughed.''I think not,you're coming with me.''The creature swung a lazy punch at her,but it was all too easy to dodge.Yumiko smirked.''Is this the best you can do?''The creature laughed.''No,I can do much better.You'll see the true strength of Houki,mmmm,Tarukane will pay a lot of money for this....''Houki gathered energy into his fists and they moved a lot faster than Yumiko was willing to admit.She finally couldn't dodge one of the flying punches and was thrown into a wall,blacking out.
She awoke in a cell,head pounding.''Ahhhh...''She shook her head,trying to rid herself of some of the fuzziness.''Oh,you're awake!Are you okay?''Yumiko found herself staring into the crimson eyes of a young girl with long icy colored hair.''Yeah,I'm fine,who are you and where are we?''The girl bowed her head.''I am Yukina of the ice world,and currently we are in a cell in a place owned by a man called Tarukane.I have no idea where we are other than that.I'm glad you're okay,I was afraid they'd almost killed you!''Yumiko rubbed her aching head.''Nah,I put up a good fight though.I got thrown into a wall and blacked out.''The girl nodded.''Why do they want you,if you're a human?''Yumiko grinned.''Let's just say I took away one of their main sources of fiber and protein,''she said,thinking of the veggie heads.Yukina tilted her head.''I don't know what you mean.''
Yumiko sat up quickly and patted her back,breathing a sigh of relief.''What was that all about?''asked Yukina.Yumiko pulled aside her hair.''They didn't know I had a weapon.Now I think we can get out of here!''Yukina looked hopeful,but Yumiko could tell she didn't think better of this plan.''I don't know,if you try to escape,they may kill you!''Yumiko raised an eyebrow.''Moi?Never.They want to sell me.''Yumiko took her sword from it's sheath and brought the lock on the cell closer to her.She started picking it and quit when there was a resounding click.Yumiko smiled and helped Yukina up.''Now we get out of here.''
Yumiko peeked out of the room the cell was in.''The coast is clear,come on!Let's move it!''Yukina followed as swiftly and with as much speed as she could muster.Yumiko saw a window and ran to it.''Hey,the tree is just close enough....''she looked back at Yukina and at the bluish kimono she was wearing.''Hmm,guess that would be a no....nobody can climb in a dress.Okay well on to plan B,Yukina where is the nearest staircase?''Yukina pointed farther down the hall.''It's not too far,but I'm really not sure of how to get out of here myself.The last time I saw anything was when a man tried to help me,but he never made it....''Yukina looked at the floor and Yumiko could tell she'd been through hell.Yumiko twirled her sword.''Well I think you'll find that I'm much more capable.''Yukina smiled,''I have no doubts,you got us out of the cell,didn't you?''
Yumiko grabbed Yukina's hand and they ran down the hall.''I don't think I can fight off every guy in the place,we'll have to make it out of here quickly and quietly!''Yumiko and Yukina ran down two flights of stairs and Yumiko peeked her head around the corner.''I don't see a door,maybe down the hall just a bit.''Yumiko turned to look back at Yukina.''Are you ready?''Yukina nodded and smiled,but suddenly a look of sheer horror overcame her delicate features.
Yumiko quickly turned.A very tall man with sunglasses and a trenchcoat now blocked their way.Over his shoulder was a smaller,skinnier,and way more repulsive man.Yumiko wasn't the least bit intimidated.''Who are YOU?Oh well,it doesn't matter anyways,just get out of our way,or I'll have to hurt you.''Yumiko drew her sword and got into a fighting stance.The man laughed.Yukina shuddered.''That's Toguro and his brother(did I spell it right?),please don't fight them!They're ruthless and very powerful!''Toguro smiled.''Ahh,I see you've learned the way of things Yukina.''Yumiko laughed.''Maybe she has,but you'll find that I'm not broken so easily!Pain is nothing in my world!''She charged at Toguro and started slashing at him with the katana,but pulled back only to find that he wasn't scratched.''What the--?''she started to ask.Toguro slipped silently behind her and his brother transformed into some kind of a sword.He pierced her arm with it.Yumiko cried out.Tears welled up in Yukina's eyes.''No,please stop it!''
Yumiko hauled herself up.''I never quit.Death will come long before surrender!''(sound familiar,Hiei fans?)Toguro and his brother/sword ran at her again,but this time,Toguro butted her with the hilt of it,sending her into a wall,injured right arm and right leg first.Yumiko let out an earpiercing cry and blacked out from pain.Yumiko muttered an incoherent,''Run,Yukina....''
Yumiko awoke to a familiar voice.''Yumiko?Yumiko?Wake up!''She fluttered her eyes open.''Hiei...?''Hiei stood over her in the cell.''Yumiko!You're awake!Are you okay?''Yumiko looked around,she was back in the cell.''I'm fine,I guess after I fought that Toguro guy I got thrown back in here...where's Yukina!?''Hiei smoothed Yumiko's hair down.''Your cousin,and Kuwabara originally came here to get her,and now Kuwabara and Yusuke are fighting their way towards her.Then I found out you had been captured too,and I knew there wouldn't be much time before something happened to either one of you.I came to get you and help them get Yukina.''Yumiko sighed with relief.''I just hope they haven't hurt her.''Hiei smiled.''They wouldn't harm the maker of their fortune,can you stand up?''Yumiko tried but winced in pain and started to fall.Hiei caught her up bridal style.
''I guess when Toguro threw me into a wall,my leg got jammed up too...''Hiei looked down with concern.Yumiko tapped him on his shoulder.''Come on Hiei,can't wait forever to go get Yukina.''Hiei nodded and ran with such agility as only a demon would have.Hiei ran down the stairs,Yumiko in arms,and burst through a door near the end of the hall.
Several guards,a large fat man,and Yukina stood waiting in the room.The man,who must be Tarukane,looked at them..''Go get em boys.''The guards headed Hiei's way,and Hiei whipped out his sword,getting to them before they got to him.He had Yumiko cradled in one arm.''I didn't even have to put you down,Yumiko,pathetic.''He put Yumiko down on the floor,and made his way over to Tarukane.''You've caused enough pain for one lifetime.''Hiei lifted up his sword,but Yukina latched onto his arm.''Please,no more killing!I...I can't stand it.Even if he did what he did to me...no more killing because of me...please...''Hiei looked down,noticing for the first time,the ice maiden Yukina.Yumiko watched his look at her as a brother would to a little sister.Yumiko tilted her head,come to think of it....they did have the same eyes...hmmm....then it snapped.They were related!
Yumiko started to say something,but thought better of it.If Hiei was going to tell her,he'd tell her.It wasn't for her to do.Hiei walked back over and picked Yumiko up bridal style again,and Tarukane ran past them and out the door.(Ok,I'm not sure that's accurate but I could care less right now.It's too early in the morning.)Yumiko put her arms around Hiei's neck.Yukina gasped.''Oh,I almost forgot about those boys!''she ran out the door,and in about a minute,Yumiko saw her run out onto the stadium floor towards Kuwabara.Yusuke however was nowhere to be seen.Yumiko looked into Hiei's eyes and smiled.''I'm glad you cam for me Hiei.''
His eyes hinted a bit of mischief.''Was there any doubt I would?''He brought his face closer to Yumiko's and from there layed a gentle kiss upon her lips.Yumiko blushed but accepted it,and Hiei came in for another one.''I think I like kissing you.....''he whispered,smirking.Yumiko leaned back in.''I think I like kissing you too....''A loud shout was heard and both of them turned their heads toward the door,where a pissed off Yusuke was standing.''What the hell!?????"
Yumiko blushed insanely,and Hiei shot a death glare at Yusuke.Yusuke started forward at them,but a hand from behind caught his shirt,tugging him back.The hand was followed by a body,apparently Kurama had been there the whole time as well.Yusuke tried lunging forward,but that didn't work either.Kurama smiled.''Did we interrupt something?''Yumiko blushed even redder,and Hiei even appeared to have some color.
Kurama smiled knowingly and pulled Yusuke from the room.Yumiko looked deep into Hiei's crimson orbs.''Sometimes that Kurama is too smart for his own good.''Hiei nodded.''Yes,very true.''
