Hieifan1: hey there you guys. thanks Kuramas Gurl for your very sweet review. This chapter will have Donna, Pearl, and Dart. This chapter will also take place when Jade, Kurama and Donna are all 11 years old. So with out further ado here is chapter 2

The Phoenix ch 2

~5 years later~

Jade packed up the last of her things for her school camping trip. ‘I still can’t believe that the gym teacher actually convinced the principal to let us go camping’ Jade thought excitedly. Her principal was not the kindest person on the planet and he hates it when kids have fun. All of a sudden Jades phone starts to ring (yes she has a phone in her room) Jade goes over and answers the phone and says “hello?” “Hey girl what’s up, you all ready for the camping trip?” someone asked.

Jade smiled “yes I’m all packed , but..are you ready Donna? She replied to her friend knowing that Donna always waited tell the last second to do anything. “Almost” Donna said “I just have to figure out how to fit my cd player and my cd’s into my backpack”. Jade shook her head “your not supposed to bring your cd’s and cd player on a camping trip”she said. “So what’s you point?” Donna said with a very perky tone, knowing that it would get her out of trouble with Jade by being silly.

Jade shook her head at her friend again she had known Donna for only two years, and already she knew her better than anyone in all the three worlds, which could be a good thing and a bad thing “Your impossible Donna” she said with a sigh. “I know..but that’s why you love me right” Donna said. The two girls laughed and joked around on the phone for another five minutes and then said they would see each other on the bus, then they hung up there phones .

By the time Jade was ready to go Kurama had shown up to take her to the bus (f.y.i. Kurama, Jade, and Donna all go to the same school) “hey Suuichi” Jade said. Kurama smiled and said “hello Jade” he silently thanking her for using his human name in front of there mothers this time. (Jade sometimes forgets to call him Suuichi in public and that causes a lot of problems) “hi Shiori how are you” Jillian said as she came up from behind Jade to greet there friends. “Hello Jillian I’m doing fine how about you” Shiori said. (I’m gonna just skip the rest of the mom talk and get on with the story)

While there mothers talked Kurama helped Jade put her bags in the car “are you sure you got every thing Jade?” he asked. “Yes I got every thing I need you can check if you want” Jade said “no I believe you” he said with a laugh ‘knowing her she probably forgot something important’ he thought “ok kids lets go” Shiori said walking up to the car. Then they got in the car and drove to the school. When they got there Donna was already there and arguing with the gym teacher about her things, when Jade sal this she sweatdropped and said “oh no”. Kurama heard that he looked over to were Jade was looking and said “oh boy I didn’t know Donna was coming”(Kurama has a secret crush on Donna in this story) “yea she’s coming but she doesn’t have to make a scene” Jade said embarrassed by her friends actions.

They got out of the car and got there stuff out of the trunk and went over to put there bags in the bus both thinking “please let Donna be a normal girl on this trip”. Donna walked away from the gym teacher in a huff ‘I can’t believe the teacher won’t let me bring my personal things on this trip’ she thought. She then sal Kurama and Jade, went over to them and said “hey you guys”. Jade turned around to see her friend smiled and said “so what was going on over there with the gym teacher?”.

“He was being a jerk” Donna said “he won’t let me bring my cell phone, my laptop, my alarm clock, or my air mattress on this trip”. Kurama and Jade both sweatdropped at that, ‘and to think she’s a demon..well half demon that is’ Jade thought “um...Donna is all that necessary for a camping trip?” Kurama asked wondering why she would make a fuss over that. “No not really but I do need them because I have to stay in contact with my mom, I was going to take digital pictures of the forest and e-mail them to my dad, I want to wake up on time to see the sunrise and take pictures of it so I can show my senile grandmother that there is a sunrise, and I can’t get to sleep if I’m laying on the hard ground” Donna said.

Jade looked at her friend like she was crazy she thought Donna of all people would know that all that wasn’t necessary, getting very angry by her friends stupidity she yelled “one you don’t have to stay in contact with you mom for this trip, two you can take the pictures of the forest at the camp site and e-mail them to your dad when you get home, three if getting up that early is so important to you I can wake you up one minute from sunrise so you can take the damn picture, and four you’ve slept on the ground before and you didn’t complain then, so you don’t have to have all that for a four day camping trip”.

At this time Kurama was backing up he knew better than to try to stop Jade when she gets like this, plus everyone elts was gathering around to see who pissed off Jade. Donna backed up and looked like she was going to cry but she held it in, looked at the ground and said “lets just get on the bus ok” with that said she walked to the bus and got on. Kurama looked at Donna then turned to glare at Jade and said harshly “you could have gone a little easier on her Jade” then he went to calm Donna down before she started to cry, Jade hid her emotions behind a mask at that moment, got on the bus and sat in the very back so noone would see her cry.

By the time the rest of the class got on the bus they had completely forgotten the incident outside and went about there business. nobody noticed that Jade was not sitting with Kurama and Donna the hole time. When they got there Jade set up her tent by the crystal clear lake, wile Kurama and Donna set up there tents beside an old oak tree, and for the next three days Jade didn’t talk, look at, or even acknowledge there existence.

“Do you think Jade is alright Suuichi?” Donna asked him on the fourth morning “I don’t know but its not like her to hold a grudge over a silly argument like that” he said looking thoughtful for a moment then a thought struck him “oh no she thinks we hate her because of what happened the first day”he realized “we need to talk to her right away then”Donna said not wanting to lose her best friend. But by the time they had gotten over to her tent Jade had already gone into the forest for her daily walk.

Meanwhile two demons siblings where walking thru the forest when they sal Jade sitting by a wild rosebush (yes they have those) the girl smirked at her brother and said “you want to have some fun Dart?” Dart over at his sister then at the girl she was motioning to smiled “yes I think I do Pearl” he replied and then walked over to the girl “Are you alright little one” he asked. Jade looked up at the man ‘he looks familiar but why I never meet him before’ she thought “yes I’m ok” she replied “do I know you because you look familiar?” she asked him.

This shocked him for a sec ‘how could a human girl say I look familiar to her nobody here knows who I am’ he thought “you must be mistaken this is the first time we’ve meet” Dart said <hurry up and get it over with Pearl > he told his sister thru there mind link. <alright mister bossy> Pearl replied and sent her serpent to bit the girl (her serpent is like Tsubaki’s shekykami from Inuyasha)

“oh my bad sorry” Jade said. “Its ok little one no harm done...yet” he said as the serpent grew closer “what do you mean by yet”she exclaimed standing up and getting ready to run but then the serpent sank its fangs into her ankle “AHHHH”she cried as she collapsed to the ground in pain “w..why did you..do that?” she said gasping from the pain of the poison running thru her veins. “Because we wanted to you stupid girl” Pearl said as the serpent crawled back to Pearl and coiled itself around her arm then she and Dart left the area.

Jade tried as best as she could to get back to camp but she got up only to collapsed to the ground again but this time someone caught her before she hit the ground. “Jade are you ok” Kurama asked even tho he knew the answer was no. “serpent..bit.. my ankle” she managed to say before she past out. Kurama’s eyes double sized when he heard that “oh no” he said and as quickly as he could he used one of his plants to draw out to poison before it killed her.

By the time he was done Donna had caught up to him “what happened” was all she said when she sal Jade. Kurama told her what he could about what had happened. “She will be ok but who ever did this didn’t joke around they got straight to the point” he said “we will find them and make them pay for this” Donna said and she followed as Kurama carried Jade back to camp.
