Maku? But… But how did she know the rest of the chant? How did she… Your thoughts stopped, as you saw the light from around her dissipate, and… you could sense she was gone… her soul had vanished from existence, and darkness devoured your vision…

Celena Flashback

"Celena, why am I different?" the little girl asked me, she had finally realised, I turned to look to the small demon, her ears twitched, one blue with black stripes, the other black, with blue stripes… her eyes like pools of liquid mercury, and wings like Demon Slayers… she wore a black dress, she was so young…

"Maku… why do you ask that?" I felt slightly torn as I said this, Maku was like my daughter, I had taught her everything I knew, her blue and block hair than covered her eyes as she looked to the floor, her rich blonde hair staying where it was….

"I know who asked you to take care of me…" she whispered… my eyes widened…

"Maku…I-"

"YOU LIED TO ME!!! KOENMA JUST FORCED YOU TO TAKE CARE OF ME… HOW COULD YOU!?" Black tears streamed down her cheeks, and she ran from the room, I knew that I probably would never see her again… never…

Never….

You spaced back… and saw Maku's body lying lifeless in Hiei's arms, and you almost fell back, her features had changed… she was different, her skin had taken on a grey hue, and Hiei just couldn't stop shaking… his red eyes looking upon her peaceful features, she looked as if she was just sleeping… but you knew this was a slumber that she would never wake from, she would never laugh with you again… she would never be there again…

Kurama embraced you, just as you tears began to form, you cried into his chest… your tears crystallised in his shirt, melding in with the fabric…

Kurama stroked through your hair,

Kuwabara looked so confused, wether he should cry because Maku was dead, or to make fun of Hiei… for losing her… he decided to cry…

Yusuke looked away, biting his lip… Botan looked shocked, and started to shudder, her tears slowly streamed down… not even the grim reaper would see her again, since Maku's soul, was gone for good….

You also knew Koenma could never bring her back…

So… she really was gone, dead…

She had died instead of you… she had taken your price… but this had done nothing… you could sense the darkness, if anything, growing stronger…

Maku's life had gone to waste, and there was nothing anyone could do to bring her back…

Hiei still shook, his eyes wide, he stroked his shaking hand across her delicate features... and one lone black tear fell from his eye, it was like slow motion, it slowly dripped off his cheek, and materialised in a black tear gem... You felt anger rise within you...

How dare the darkness poison holy ground...

How dare the darkness take a life that shouldn't leave..

Rage flowed through your veins and you felt the want to destroy everything the darkness had, took over... and you broke from Kurama's grip and ran out the doors....
