Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ The Sisters of Seasons ❯ Haru and Kurama ( Chapter 6 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

I don't own'em. I just own the sisters.

I just stood there, staring at the vast land before me. Directly in front of me was the brightly-colored autumn territory. To my right was winter, and to my left was summer. Tomorrow was our fight. I wasn't about to lose, and Kurama wasn't about to help me. I heard his footsteps but didn't turn around.
"It's incredible." he said softly.
"Hai." I answered. I didn't mind his presence as much as I did before. He seemed a bit uneasy standing next to me. I turned mt head to look at him. "Kurama, you're blushing." This only made him blush deeper. I gave him a questioning look. He was blushing.....for me? Something was wrong with that. "Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why are you blushing?"
"It's nothing, really."
"It's not nice to lie." He didn't bother to say anything else. "Whatever." I walked back inside and off of the balcony.

I trained more that day, nothing special. Kurama came with me. I think he enjoyed watching my target practice. We walked back, talking about small things such as his life, the Ningenkai, my life, my sisters. He stopped when we reached the tower. He spotted the stone.

~~~~~~~~
Kurama pointed to the faintly glowing stone.
"What is it?" he asked.
"It's....nothing." she answered slowly.
"It's not nice to lie."
She frowned. "You can't tell anyone."
Kurama nodded. She reached for the stone block. It was like every other block, but he could clearly see something. When she finally pulled it out, Kurama saw that it was a box. Haru carefully open it, and the light became brighter.
"This is the essence of spring. This is what I am. My spirit is within this box."
"So, that's why you keep it hidden."
"But this is our secret. You won't tell anyone. Promise me, Kurama."
"I promise."
She smiled. For the first time, Kurama saw her smile. "Good." She paused. "I'm going to sleep. I'm a little tired."
"I'm going to stay up a bit longer. I'm not quite tired yet."
"Alright." She walked inside, leaving Kurama to sit on the grass. He almost fell asleep, dispite not being all that sleepy. He heard a small laugh followed by a hard pain to his head. Everything was black after that.
~~~~~~~

Haru woke up early, getting dressed and grabbing her weapon. She walked out into the hallways and ran to the first woman she saw.
"Good morning to you, Mistress Haru." she greeted.
"Where is Kurama? I want to make sure he doesn't follow me this morning." Haru answered.
"He didn't come to bed last night. I'm not sure."
"Stupid boy. He probably fell asleep outside."
"Hai, he might have. Would you like me to check?"
"Iie, I'll go." She walked to the back door and opened it to the morning light. "Kurama, are you out here? Kurama-san?" She stopped and stepped out. Something caught her attention. It was a bloodstain on the grass. Not just a bloodstain--it was frozen. "Kurama! If you're out there, answer me!" She knew there would be no answer. She knew where he was and whose doing it was. "You bitch."
"Me?" Haru swung around to Natsu in her fighting attire. "I came to make sure you wouldn't sleep through our little apointment with Fuyu and Aki.
"We're going straight to Fuyu's tower."
"Pardon?"
"You heard me."
"Aren't you eager?"
"She took Kurama. She came here last night and kidnapped him!"
"Calm down, calm down. Kurama, the nice red-haired boy?"
"Hai." Haru started for the front door when Natsu put a hand on her shoulder. "What are you doing?"
"I can't let you go."
"Why the hell not?!"
"I you charge onto her territory, you'll make things even worse. It's one thing to be on each other's territory, but entering a tower without permission would start a war. In the end, we would probably kill each other."
"How can you talk like that?! She'll torture and kill him!"
"Now why would she do that?"
"He knows where my spirit is."
"You told him?!"
"No, he found it on his own."
"This is something of concern, but we can do nothing."
"Nothing?! What the hell do you mean by that?! You can just expect me to leave him there! You know how cruel she can be!"
"So, you do care."
Haru's mouth opened to protest, but quickly closed. "So, we can do something?"
"No."
Haru threw her against the wall and ran.

~~~~~~~~
Kurama was thrown against the wall again and again before finally being left alone in the barred cell. Frostbite covered every inch of his skin and burned like nothing he had ever felt before. He was too worn out and injured to sit up. He just stayed there, lying on the ground with his eyes closed. A constant stream of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth. It was warmth in the cold hell he had entered.
'I'll ask you once more, where is it?!' Fuyu screamed at him.
Kurama shook his head weakly.
'You incompitent, little bastard!' She hit him upside the head with a freezing hand. 'You will tell me one way or another! I have many ways of torturing you. One of them must work.' He didn't bother to respond. 'I'll let you go for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow, and we will resume this matter. Every time I come, I will torture you until you don't know whether you are alive or not. You will beg for death, but you won't get it. You will scream for mercy, and none will come. I promise that you will never see the light of day again. And as for my sister, she won't come. Haven't you noticed that she couldn't care less about you? She *hates* you. She finds you inferior and weak.'
That was Fuyu's lecture to him while she practicaly killed him.
~~~~~~~~

'You has better not die on me!' Haru thought. She left her weapon on the edge of her territory after knocking Natsu out. She had entered the winter territory. She wouldn't fight Fuyu....yet. Her first goal was to make sure Kurama was safe and alive. She slipped into the tower unnoticed. Every tower had the same design. The dungeons would be on the lowers floor. She crossed a hallway when the guards noticed her.
"You! Halt!" one ordered. Haru obeyed and turned with an angered expression. They held their bows and arrows ready. "Haru! Prepare to die!"
"You obviously do not know who you are fucking with!" Haru released her ki, shattering the people before her as well as blowing the walls back a few feet. "I dare you to try and make my mood worse." She could run through the cleared hallway after blowing most of it away. She rounded a corner. "Right here!" She held her breath as she glanced beyond the bars. "K-Kurama." She opened the door, breaking off the lock in the process. She ran to the body and checked for a pulse. "Stupid boy, you're lucky to be alive." Drenched in his blood, she lifted him from the ground. "We'll be back soon."

Again, it sucks. Sorry, I just wanted to finish it. *Sniff* MY POOR KURAMA! I'm so sorry!

Kurama: You should be.

DarkWater: Whoa! Where the hell did you come from?!

Kurama: Your basement. And what's this? *Holds up video tape labled "The Best of Kurama"*

DarkWater: That's my tape. It's got all of your fights on it! I just wanted to memorize your fighting style! Honest!

Kurama: I believe you.

DarkWater: You do? Even after the mall? (You'd have to read my humor story 'My Worst Nightmare The Mall') Well hooray for me.

Kurama: I wanted to know what this was. *Holds up tape labled "The Best Of Hiei"*

DarkWater: It's not mine! I taped it all for Shelly! She got this....thing for Hiei. It's not me! Remember? You're my sweetie, Kurama-kun.

Kurama: *Blushes*

DarkWater: *Hugs Kurama* Back off! He's mine! Anyway, I've got school tomorrow. So I might not have time to write very much. Ja ne!
