Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ The Violinist and the Prince ❯ The Return of the Fox ( Chapter 13 )
Disclaimer: *sigh* so much work to do. Why must I put so much energy into thinking up an either witty, funky, or plain disclaimer? *sigh* it's tiring I tell you!
Kuri: You're pathetic you know that?
Ddc: You're verbally abusive YOU know that?!
Kuri: Yes I do and I'm proud of it. Anyway, ddc owns nothing.
Ddc: That's not true!!!! I own a VIOLIN! Wait. TWO violins! A crappy one and a kickass red one. ^_^
Kuri: -_-;;;;;;;;; are you done yet?
Ddc: yup! ^_^
Summary: Yay!!! So many people are reading and reviewing this story! Ok here's the thing from now on. I am now waiting for a certain amount of people on mediaminer.org to view my story, and once I get that certain amount of people I update. Unless I'm really busy, in which case I just up the amount of people I need to view it. ^_^;;;;;;; but anyway, so that's what I'm doing now, so read my story, review as usual, and I promise to update faster. ^_^ and guess what! It's almost done!!!!! Woohoo!!!! We should all have a big party at the end or something! ^_^;;;; ok maybe not a party. But seriously it's almost done, and I don't really know how many more chapters are left, but no more than 4 I'd estimate. Wait, why am I saying this now?!!?!? It's not over yet! ^_^;;;;;;;; ok anyway enough of my senseless blabbering. ON WITH THE FIC!
Kurama glared at his opponent. "I must make one thing crystal clear for you, demon bastard. I am NOT a whore, and I do NOT intend to lose and become your little pet."
Akiyoshi just laughed again. "Tsk tsk tsk little whore. Don't go into the denial stage. You can't deny what you are inside, and you most definitely can't deny that I am much more powerful than you seeing as you are but a weak ningen and I am a lightening master. So don't worry my pet to be, all your little urges will soon be satisfied by me once I beat you."
Kurama growled. "I am not in denial and I do NOT have urges!"
"Then how is it that you come to `love' the brat prince so much? Don't you know what it is that he looks for in his `lovers'? Beauty, courageousness, and the fact that they are sluts who will do whatever he wants them to do. And seeing as you have the first two, and that he calls you his `lover', of course you're going to have the last one."
Kurama smirked. "Well well well. Looks like the lightening master has lost all the intelligence in his ramblings."
Akiyoshi snorted. "Really? How so?"
"Oh nothing, except for the fact that YOU considered him to be your lover! Oh, didn't you know? The `brat prince' told me all about you, and how easy you were to get into bed with. If anyone is the whore here it is you."
Now it was Akiyoshi's turn to growl. "How DARE you! You insolent little BRAT! You are worse than HIM!"
Kurama chuckled, highly amused at the lightening demon's tantrum. "Arigouto gozimas. I take that as a compliment."
Akiyoshi slowly calmed down. "It doesn't matter. If you are worse than him, then you will be much better in bed. Oh, I can't wait to be with you. Ok enough chit chatter. Let's go."
*a forest nearby *
"Come ON! Can't you run ANY faster?!" yelled Hiei frantically behind his shoulder.
"OY! I'm not a demon you know! And this IS fast, on ningen standards!" came Yusuke's reply.
"Well we aren't in Ningenkai anymore now are we? Hurry up! Kurama could be fighting Akiyoshi while we speak! We have to get there before he does anything stupid!"
"I know I know! But I still can't go any faster than this!"
"Fine! I'll carry you!" Hiei grunted in annoyance as he grabbed the ningen teenager and put him on his back. "You know this is really embarrassing?"
Yusuke's eyes were wide. "Woah! You can run seriously FAST!"
Hiei snorted. "What? You thought I was running at my top speed back there?"
"Um…yeah. Kind of."
"You really think lowly of me don't you? How else can I be a Makai prince if I run THAT slow?"
"Well, you were beaten by Akiyoshi…"
"Ok just stop right there. He's much more powerful than me, and plus I had other things on my mind. I'll beat him to the ground once we find him and Kurama."
"By the way."
Hiei sighed in annoyance while running at his full speed. "What is it now?"
"How do you know we're going in the right direction?"
Hiei stopped running to look at the boy on his back in astonishment. "You're really stupid you know that?"
"Hey! It was a serious question! How DO you know?!" Yusuke replied defensively.
"I'm using my Jagan of course! Also I can see Kurama's footprints! You thought I was just running in this direction for no reason?!!?!"
"Umm….yeah. I guess I did. Hehehe pretty stupid huh?"
"No. More like incredibly idiotic. Come on let's go. And next time you need a ride on my back because you run like a slug, go on a diet."
"Hey! I resent that you know!"
*the grove in the forest *
Kurama quickly jumped to the right as the yellow ball of lightening energy was flung towards his body. In quick retaliation he pulled from his hair a seed and immediately fed it some of his own energy, causing it to grow into his old trademark weapon, the Rose Whip. With a quick flick of his wrist he sent the deadly whip towards his enemy, who in turn dove to the right, sending another lightening blast towards the fox.
This cat and mouse game, with roles switching every few seconds soon came to an sudden end when a lightening blast skimmed across the grove to hit Kurama in the side, causing him to fall to the ground in pain. Akiyoshi stood up laughing. "Ah that was so easy! I thought you would at least give me more sport than that! Oh well, you'll have plenty of time to redeem yourself once we get back to my castle. Oh I can't wait!"
Kurama smirked, and before Akiyoshi knew what had happened, thick tendrils of vines and blades of grass had wrapped around his body, slowly squeezing him to death. Akiyoshi looked in awe at this newest attack on his life, but then just smirked. "Really? Is this the best you can do?" he said.
Suddenly his body began to shine yellow with his energy, and then an explosion rocked the little grove that they were battling in. Kurama was thrown into the air, and landed four feet from his last standing spot. Looking up from the brown earth, he saw that his plants had been burned to a crisp, and Akiyoshi was standing in the middle, brushing off charred bits of plants from his yellow and red tunic. He chuckled. "Ah this is so amusing! You really think you can beat me, don't you? Even the brat prince was better than THIS! But oh well. Soon it will be over, and you will be mine. Don't you just love it when evil triumphs over good?"
Kurama glared at him and he rose to his feet. "No, actually I don't. Especially when good will triumph over evil."
Akiyoshi just laughed again. "Ah you are so naïve. But anyway, I'm growing bored with this game little whore. So lets end this, shall we? But do put your block up. I wouldn't want to kill you or damage you too much," he said while sending a huge blast of lightening energy directly towards Kurama.
*nearby *
Hiei stopped as he saw the brilliant yellow light flash about half a mile in front of him. ::No! Kurama! Please be ok!:: he thought as he sprinted as fast as he had ever sprinted in his long life. Yusuke's grip around his neck tightened. "Hey! Warn me next time before you do that!"
Hiei didn't respond. Instead, he raced forward, his expression grim.
A second later they burst into the grove where the battle between Akiyoshi and Kurama was taking place. Hiei literally threw Yusuke off of his back and surveyed to situation. Akiyoshi stood in the middle of the field, practically dying from his wicked witch impression, complete with maniac laughter and all. And on the other side of the field was a giant cloud of dark grey smoke. Hiei's eyes widened at the sight of the smoke. ::No…he's not dead! He can't be!::
Suddenly the smoke changed into a silvery mist, with occasional bolts of black lightening flashing through it.
All who stood in the grove gaped in awe as the power level of the being in the midst of the mystical mist became the highest any of them had ever felt. ::Is…is this Kurama's true form?:: Hiei wondered to himself.
::Oh damn. I'm in deep shit now aren't I?:: thought Akiyoshi. Turning to his right, he spotted the petite fire demon and loudmouth human. ::Damn!!! They're here too! Wait a second. Hmmm…Akiyoshi, think! Think! Ooooo good idea! Genius time, genius time! I can kill them easily, seeing as the human hasn't found a way to access his true powers yet, and the brat prince is wounded, not to mention preoccupied. So, if I killed them now, the whore will stop whatever he's doing to raise his powers. Ah, I'm so smart. I could win that stupid human award for my intelligence in planning sneaky, cunning ways of winning battles. Now, what was that thing called again? The King's Nonaggression prize? Oh who cares what it's called. Those two are dead, and then the whore will be mine!!!:: (A/n: -_-;;;;; ok just to clarify, I'm talking about the Noble's Peace prize. Sorry for the stupid substitute ^_^;;;)
But just as the lightening master was about to charge the unsuspecting duo, who were in this state because they were too busy watching the mist and wondering where all that power was coming from, the mist suddenly thinned.
"Do you honestly think that I will let you hurt my lover and best friend? Let alone kill them? If you do, then you are most certainly a fool," a deep, unfamiliar voice growled from the densest remaining batch of mist. A few seconds later that last bit faded away into nothing, revealing a tall figure, clad in a white fighting tunic, and had long, silky silver hair down to the center of his back with matching fox ears and tail. (a/n: tehehehe guess who! ^_~)
Hiei gasped in awe as he looked into his lover's now-golden eyes. "Yoko…Kurama…," he whispered softly to no one in particular.
Yoko smiled kindly to the shocked little fire demon. "Hai, I have returned, but my time is short." He looked to the quivering Akiyoshi. "What do you say koi? How about we have a little fun while I'm visiting? What do you suggest? I am rather fond of kicking lightening demon ass, how about you?"
Hiei smirked. "Hn. Just my kind of fun."
By now Akiyoshi was slowly backing away from the group, and for the time being Yusuke had retreated into the neighboring trees and was completely forgotten by the three demons in the grove.
"But…but…you're supposed to just be human! Not Yoko Kurama reincarnated!!!!" stuttered the fearful lightening master.
Yoko just laughed as Hiei strode, or rather strutted, over to take his place on the fox's right side. "Isn't it funny how life deals its cards? For me, I was a legendary bandit shot while mourning my lost lover, and then I merged with this still-unborn human. For Hiei, he was a lost little prince searching for lover, and whom else does he find and fall in lover with? The legendary, `dead' Yoko Kurama, secretly inhabiting the body of the beautiful virtuoso, Minamino Shuichi.
"And you? Well, I'm sorry to say that life has dealt you its deadliest card. You, the ill-fated master of lightening, who tragically fell in lover with, what was your name for him? The little prince? Oh wait, no, forgive me. The brat prince. Such an unfitting name, if I do say so myself. You fell in lover, but the `brat prince' did not share your feelings, and so left in search of his true lover. But you couldn't take rejection, could you? You've always gotten whatever your heart desired. So you did the only thing you knew. You set out to kill your beloved prince, not knowing that he and his true lover would be your slayers."
Akiyoshi gulped quickly before replying, "You're a bit over-confident for one who was, until a few moments ago, being beaten into the ground. What makes you think that you'll be able to beat me now?"
Hiei snorted. "Because, you dumb fool, Yoko Kurama is an A-class demon. I am an upper B. (A/n: this is said in the first episode of the dvd called The Seven. *checks back of case * Ah here it is. Episode 71: The Tunnel. Muhahaha. Ok I'm done. Back to the story.) So Yoko by himself could easily kill you in under two minutes, but seeing as I will be assisting him in causing your death, you don't stand a chance. Gomen, but you're as good as dead." He pulled out his sword from the sheath on his left hip slowly.
"You're life is growing shorter by the second, I'm afraid," said Yoko as he grew his classic Rose Whip again.
Akiyoshi put his hands out in front of him and backed up again. "Wait!! I…Hiei! I love you! How could you kill someone who loves you?!"
Hiei glared at the retreating lightening master as he and his lover moved in for the kill (a/n: I've always wanted to write that line! ^_^;;;; ok ok no more author's notes this is supposed to be the big suspenseful scene after all. Can't have my mindless babbling interrupt! ^_^;) "How can I kill someone who loves me? Easily, especially if I don't love that person and that person tried to kill me and my lover!!!" he yelled, causing Akiyoshi to cringe.
"But…but…but…I never really would have killed you! I was just trying to…to…show you how strong I am! It was an act of love!"
Yoko snickered. "I don't see how almost spearing his heart could possibly be an `act of love'."
Akiyoshi gulped again. "I…I have friends in high places! You won't get away with this! If you kill me, they will hunt you down and slaughter you like rabid dogs!"
Yoko growled. "Don't even THINK about comparing me to a dog, you retched coward! I'm growing tired of your weak attempts at survival!"
Hiei smirked sinisterly. "As am I. But I know Akiyoshi. Once he starts he never shuts up; he likes to hear himself talk too much. The only way to make him shut up is to cut out his tongue and then his head."
The silver fox took on the fire demon's smirk. "Sounds like a good enough remedy. Lets try it out, see if it works."
Akiyoshi found himself backed up against a tree as the two demons continued their approach. "You're nothing but murderers!!!" he shrieked at them as he ran to his right, away from the tree and towards the forest.
Suddenly the thorny length of Yoko's whip wrapped itself tightly around the lightening master's neck, but not tight enough to severe his head. "And you're not? You make me sick with your pathetic excuses. Die, and I hope you have a perfectly awful time in the deepest circle of Hell's fires."
"And I hope that you have fun with your `little family' in the flames of eternal Hell!" said Hiei coldly, quoting Akiyoshi from the day before.
The fox and the fire demon moved as one, and before Akiyoshi could scream anything more than "NOOOOO!!!" his head was rolling in the field along with his upper torso, which Hiei had done by cutting his body in two. Rich, dark blood stained the grass around the fallen lightening demon's body.
Yoko looked at the body and then back at his lover. Hiei met his gaze, and strode forward into the fox's arms for a heart-felt embrace. After a moment the fox bent down (a/n: teehehehehe couldn't resist. ^_^;;;;;; actually I wanted to say knelt down, but that would have been just too mean ^_^;;; ok ok I'm done I'm done.) and pulled the fire demon's small face forward into a loving kiss.
After a moment Hiei opened his eyes, and to his surprise instead of being greeted by golden eyes he found himself staring into shockingly green orbs. Kurama smiled. "Yoko told you his time on the outside was short, didn't he? Really Hiei. Do you think I would let him out long enough for him to have all the fun with you?"
Hiei blushed and Kurama laughed. Suddenly they both remembered Yusuke. Turning to the forest, they saw him staring at them, blushing the deepest shade of red either of them had ever seen. Kurama grinned. "Enjoying the view, Yusuke? Or did you just step on a scorpion?"
Yusuke blushed eve redder, if that was possible. "Um…hehehehe yeah, scorpions. Those stings really smart, you know."
Hiei chuckled, and then burst out in laughter alongside Kurama. Once both somehow contained their laughter, Hiei said, "We should go back. Everyone is probably worried. We did take off without much of an explanation."
"And I left without one at all. Speaking of which, how did you know I left Hiei?" asked Kurama.
Hiei looked at him. "I don't know, really. I was sleeping, and suddenly you appeared in front of me in my dreams and said `Good-bye koi. I must do my duty now, and if I do not return then you must carry on without me. I love you with all my heart.' Then I woke up and Yusuke told me that you had gone for a walk, and I knew that you had gone to fight Akiyoshi."
Yusuke gaped at the prince. "You mean you saw that in a dream!??! Man you guys really have something going, don't you?"
Kurama smiled at the smaller demon. "Yes, we do."
Hiei returned the smile, and then started walking back towards his castle. "Let's go. My sister is probably being harassed by that oaf again."
Yusuke laughed. "Yeah probably. We'd better go."
Kurama smirked. "Yes, we wouldn't want Kuwabara swooning over Yukina, now would we, Little Prince."
"HEY! DON'T CALL ME THAT!!"
"Call you what, Little Prince?"
"KURAMA!!!"
Kurama laughed as he ran forward into the woods, fleeing from his raging fire demon lover.
Darkdemonchild: Tehehehehehehehehehehehehehe I love the ending to this chappie. It's something I would do. ^_^;;;; plus I like that name for Hiei. ^_^;;;;;;;;; anyway, as sad as it is, there will only be one more chapter after this one. Ok, cue for all the sobbing.
