Kurama was taking a shortcut home through the park when he sensed two demonic auras, one that was familiar somehow. He walked towards the auras, and soon came to an area in the park where the trees were very thick. Sitting on a bench talking quickly in what
sounded like Spanish were two people. The first was a tall, dark-skinned young woman with long messy black hair and bright violet eyes who wore a uniform from Sarashki high. The second was a shorter boy who also had dark skin and had short black hair and brown eyes and wore a uniform
from Sarayashki jr. high. Kurama looked again, the boy's appearance changing slowly. His hair was now silver and black and small black dog ears were on top of his head and his eyes golden and catlike. One ear flicked in his direction, and the boy jumped up.
"Maria, someone's watching us!" he said. the girl jumped up and began to sniff the air.
"I'll be right back jose-ni-chan." she said, smiling. She jumped into a tree and Kurama lost sight of her.
"yoko-kun!" Kurama was caught off gaurd when he was suddenly hugged from behind. He turned t look into the girl's violet eyes, which were full of happiness.
"yoko-kun! It's so good to see you again!"she exclaimed. Kurama blinked.
"Um, do i know you?" he asked. The girl frowned.
"Don't you remember me? I'm Sakura!" Kurama smiled and hugged her back.
"I thought you had died." he said.
"And leave behind my favorite punching bag, I think not." she said grinning.
"Okay Maria, mind explaining this to me?" The two turned and looked up at the boy.
"oh Jose-ni-chan. Well, this is my friend Yoko Kurama. I told you about him."she said.Jose looked at Kurama.
" you did a merger too,huh?" he asked. Kurama nodded.
"yes I did. Sakura-chan, I'm guessing Maria is the name you go by here?" he said, turning back to the girl.
"Yep. Anything you go by?"
"Yes, Kurama around my close friends and Shuichi around everyone else."
"I'll remember that."Maria said. Jose snorted.
"You couldn't even remember your own name if it weren't written on your bag." he said.
"Oh shut up! At least I can defend myself, unlike a certain inu I know!" Maria snapped, letting go of Kurama.
"Baka kitsune."
"Damn inu." The two then lunged at each other and started attempting to strangle each other. Kurama sweatdropped.
"well you two certainly get along like a brother and sister do." he said. Within a minute Jose was screaming in pain as Maria started bending his arm .
"Ah! That doesn't bend that way!"
"Say it!"
"no!" Maria then began bending his other arm.
"Okay okay! Mercy! Mercy!" Maria let go of him, laughing.
"God, your pathetic!" Jose hissed at her.
"I just found a way to get pay back." he said as he rubbed his arm. He then turned and ran shouting.
"Mom! Maria used god's name in vain!" Maria sweatdropped.
"Hey Jose! 1) mom can't hear you! 2) The police stations the other way!" she shouted. Kurama looked at her.
"Police station?"
"My human mother is a detective in the homocide unit."
"Oh." Just then Yusuke and Kuwabara ran up.
"See Kuwabara, the only demon here is Kurama." Yusuke said to his friend. Maria saw him and instantly hid behind Kurama.
"Kurama, he's going to turn me in!" she hissed.Yusuke heard her.
"You mean you're one of the demons?!" he exclaimed. Maria began shaking her head frantically.
"ohnonononononono!Imnotademonthatsridiculoushowcouldyouthinkthat?&q uot; Yusuke blinked.
"She said I'm not a demon, that's ridiculous, how can you think that." Kurama said, sweatdropping.
"How do you understand her?" Kuwabara asked.
"Years of practice." Kurama replied. He then turned to Maria.
"don't worry I won't let them do anyhting to you." he said. Maria just looked at him.
"or your brother." She smiled and stepped out from behind him.
"So what do you want?" she asked Yusuke.
"We're looking for a wolf demon. We thought maybe you could help in exchange for getting to stay here."
"Nah. Anyway, I just remembered that you can't take me anywhere because of a deal Koenma made."
"What deal, with who?" Maria smirked.
"With a dog demon that just happens to be my step-dad. The deal was that he would give Koenma half of his lands in exchange for being able to go to
Ningenkai when ever he wanted to be with my mom, and that he and his family couldn't be taken back to Makai for any reason unless he went on a killing spree or somthin'.
I'm techinically family, so there's nothin' you can do." she stuck her tongue out at them.
"But I may help you anyway. Why do you need to find this demon?" she asked.
"To protect her from three others." Maria blinked.
"your talking about Peliqua-chan then. Okay, I can take you to her. She'll probably try to kill you, but that ain't my problem."

Yusuke, Kuwabara and Kurama walked through the woods that were nearby the city. They were following Maria to the area that she said Peliqua was staying.
"now i suggest that you hide the idiot, she doesn't like stupid people very much." maria joked as they came to a clearing.
"yo! peliqua, I brought some guests that want to talk to you. i'd appreciate it if you try not to kill them." she shouted. they heard some rustling, then a short young woman walked out into the clearing.
"Damn kitsune, why'd you wake me up?" the woman had long black hair and grey eyes, had wolf ears and a long black tail,and was slightly shorter than hiei. She was dressed in wolf skins and armor.
"I thought you didn't like to sleep?" Maria said, amused. The girl glared at her.
"Hn."
"Peliqua says hello." maria said, turning to the others. she turned back to the girl.
"Now, did you behave while I was gone?" she asked. Peliqua snorted.
"I had a little fun, that's all."
"You were out scaring little kids again, weren't you?"
"So what?"
"What did you do? YOu didn't hurt any did you?"
"I didn't harm this physically, just mentally. I don't think they'll want to go to sleep for a while. And all i did was change into my wolf form."she said, shaking her head.
"Not many humans have ever seen a two tailed wolf the size of a horse."
"i suppose not." Yusuke and Kuwara were watching the exchange amused.
'This reminds me of Kurama and Hiei." he said, smirking. Kuwabara wasn't paying attention, because the next second he had grabbed Peliqua's hands.
"I am the great Kuwabara! I promise to protect you from those demons that wish to hurt you, my beloved!" In the blink o an eye he was on the ground, a katana at his throat.
"If you ever touch me again, I swear I will cut off the very thing that makes you a man."she growled, her eyes ablaze with hate and anger.
"Yep, she's just like Hiei." Yusuke said .
