Kurama woke up to sunshine filtering through his window. Fluttering his eyes open, he smiled and turned over, ready to kiss Hiei goodmorning. His lips met a pillow. Ashamed, Kurama pulled back, flushing. He kept forgetting Hiei had passed. But, he could've SWORN he heard his lover last night. He heard him finish their nightly goodnights. Shaking his head, he questioned his sanity. Pulling out of the bed, Kurama stretched until he felt his joints pop. Hiei turned from his view at the window. He was glad spirits didn't need to sleep. More time to look after his fox. The kitsune sleepily padded into the hall and down the stairs. He noticed the house seemed colder since Hiei had been gone. A feeling of loneliness crept into his chest. Pushing it down, he entered the bathroom. A lecherous ghost followed closely behind. He couldn't wait to try out his new powers. An old ghost visited him last night. He told him that if he felt with his heart, then he could accomplish anything. So, Hiei thought he would give it a try. Parking on the counter, he waited until Kurama had stripped and stepped in the shower. The fox, alone in the house, didn't shut the shower curtain, giving Hiei an eyefull of Kurama's body.
""Oi fox, let's see you wash your hair without shampoo."" He snickered and concentrated. After a minute, the strawberry scented shampoo bottle floated off the shelf and set itself on the counter, next to a grinning Hiei. Kurama finished wetting his hair before reaching for the shampoo. Coming up with nothing, he opened his eyes to see it was gone. Puzzled, the fox looked around before spotting it on the counter. He blinked.
'I don't remember setting it there last night....' Pondering to himself, the fox stepped out of the shower and nabbed the bottle, the cold air on his wet skin making him uncomfortable. Turning around, he felt the slightest pressure on his backside. Whirling around, he came face to face with his own reflection in the mirror. Looking around, he found nothing that could have done that. Suspicious, Kurama slowly made his way back into the shower's water. Cautious and alert, Kurama finished his shower quickly before getting out and wrapping himself in a robe. Padding to the kitchen, he set the coffe pot on 5 cups. Deciding he wasn't really hungry, he sat down at the kitchen table.
"I didn't even get to say goodbye...." He said aloud, the only other noise in the house being the coffe pot. He couldn't stop thinking that Hiei's death was his fault.
"If only I hadn't been so stubborn, then, we would've been living in the Makai, and Hiei wouldn't have....died." He brought his head down on the table, wrapping his arms around himself. Hiei seated himself on the table.
What was that fox thinking?! It wasn't his fault! He had just been careless is all....Hiei still couldn't believe he was dead. Turning away from the saddened fox, he focused his gaze on the cabinets. Concentrating, he silently opened it and out floated a mug. He made it float down and sit in front of the coffe pot. Grinning, he watched as Kurama stood, making his way over to the counter. His grin intensified as he saw Kurama question his sanity for the second time today.
'I KNOW I didn't set out a mug yet. What the hell's going on?!' Kurama shook his head. Maybe he WAS going bonkers. Sighing, the fox picked up the mug and examined it. Finding nothing out of the ordinary, he shrugged and poured himself a cup of the dark brew. Yawning, he settled himself back in his seat. Staring at nothing, Kurama just held the steaming cup. Hiei felt sorry for his fox. Getting news like yesterday probably devestated him. Kurama broke out of his thoughts when there was a knock on the door. Not in the mood to see anybody, he just sat there. The person didn't give up quite so easily, the knocking got louder. Irritated, Kurama stood and walked swiftly to the door. Flinging it open, he forgot how to breate. The dark clad figure smirked. Kurama's eyes welled with tears.
"Hiei...." He whispered before reaching out and embracing the koorime. Hiei jumped off the table.
""What?! How can that be me?!"" Confused, Hiei floated into the living room, eyeing the one claiming to be himself. 'Hiei' pulled away from Kurama's embrace. He grinned.
"Hey babe, how ya been?" He slurred, still grinning. Kurama slightly shook his head and backed up. 'Hiei' followed him. Kurama kept backing up until he was in the center of the living room. 'Hiei' frowned.
"What's the matter sweet thing? Not happy to see me after they claimed me as dead?" He acted hurt. Kurama bristled. Hiei would NEVER call him 'babe' or 'sweet thing'. It just felt....different. Hiei glared at the one in his body, or supposedly. He felt confused. How could this person be him? He was dead. And he never acted that way around Kurama. 'Hiei' stepped closer to the fox. He opened his arms. Kurama backed up, clasping his hands to his chest.
"You're....not Hiei..." He said, narrowing his eyes. Hiei beamed. Kurama knew the difference! He grinned at his lover. The fake scowled, niceness gone from his face. He stepped forward menacingly.
"I was supposedly dead, I fight for my life just to see you again and THIS is how you treat me?!" His voice rose as he advanced on the shaken fox. Kurama shook his head, denying his words.
"No...you're not him!" He turned and ran into the kitchen, both Hiei's behind him. The fox stood next to the table, looking a little scared. He took a deep breath.
"How? They said they found your body." He was suspicious. 'Hiei' narrowed his eyes darkly.
"What does it matter?" He said evily. Kurama sunk to the floor, holding onto the table leg. Hiei stood next to the counter, helpless to do anything about what was going on. 'Hiei' grinned. He got on his hands and knees, slowly crawling toward the shaking kitsune. When in arms reach, he latched onto Kurama's ankle, pulling him toward him. Kurama flailed and kicked, screamed and clawed at the ground. Hiei snarled. How dare something claiming to be him touch HIS mate! Not focusing, Hiei tried to attack the mimicer, only hitting air. Outraged, he tried again and again, each time fruitless. 'Hiei' started roaming his hands all over the fox's body, touching him against the fox's will. Kurama didn't know why Hiei was doing this. He tried to get away to figure out what was going on.
"Please Hiei! Let me go!" He pleaded, feeling tears forming in his eyes. Hiei halted all movements before realizing he was talking to the fake. Growling, he tried hitting him again, still not focusing. 'Hiei' smirked at the fox.
"Why? I've waiting a long time to be able to fuck you again fox. So just lay back and enjoy the ride." With that, he untied Kurama's robe, holding the kitsune's hands from smacking him in the face. He ran his hand down the smooth skin of Kurama's chest, stopping to pinch a nipple. Kurama hissed from the contact. Smirking, 'Hiei' roughly fondled Kurama's nipples and shoulders. Bending down, he attached his lips to Kurama's neck, sucking without restraint. Kurama sobbed against 'Hiei's shoulder, helpless to his advances. Hiei, breathing hard, floated back a bit to catch his breath. But seeing that imposter on top of his fox just infuriated him all over again. He tried attacking once more, wasting his time. Kurama arched his back as 'Hiei' ran his hands down his sides. The imposter pulled the robe the rest of the way off, exposing Kurama's nude body to his lusty eyes. He gave a feral growl and rolled Kurama on his stomach, jerking his backside high in the air, much to Kurama's embarrasment and Hiei's infuriation. 'Hiei' quickly undid his own pants before rubbing Kurama's hip with his hand. He smacked it harshly, causing Kurama to scream in pain. Swiftly and roughly, he entered the tight hole, clutching the redhead's hair as the fox screamed. The imposter roughly shoved in and out of the unprepared entry, smacking Kurama's ass every time he said a word or moaned in pain. Whimpering, Kurama layed his face on the floor, unable to do much of anything but let Hiei have his way. The imposter pulled Kurama's hair hard, arching the fox's back like a bow. In pain, Kurama stuffed a fist in his mouth to keep from screaming. He felt his inner skin ripping with each painful thrust. He felt blood trickling down his thigh. Hiei screamed in rage. He felt so damn helpless! He could do nothing as his fox was raped in their own kitchen! Transparent tears fell as he sunk to the floor, hating himself for being so helpless. The imposter sped up, close to climax. He roared as he came, jerking Kurama's hair. The fox was relieved that it was over. Pulling out without remorse, the imposter pulled the fox's head back. Whispering in his ear, he said,
"This is my house just as it's yours. I can't believe you'd doubt who I am. I'm going upstairs." Standing, he tucked himself back in his trousers. Looking around, he sniffed at Kurama.
"And, clean up this mess." With that, he smugly walked away and up the stairs. Crying softly, Kurama picked himself off the floor. He saw blood on the linoleum where he had just been laying. More sobs wracked his body. Hiei cried along with Kurama, a deep feeling of revenge implanted in his chest. Crawling, Kurama made his way to the bathroom, where a saddened Hiei followed. He watched Kurama set himself gingerly into the tub, filling it with warm water. Pissed, he floated back through the door and flew up the stairs. He reached the bedroom where he found the imposter staring out the window. Outraged, he flew right behind 'Hiei'. Shaking with rage, he yelled.
""You bastard! How could you do that to Kurama?! And-and, who the hell are you?!"" He shook with his anger.
"It was quite easy to do that to that fox, and I am you, Hiei." The imposter turned around and glared at the spirit. Hiei's eyes widened.
""You, can hear and see me?"" He asked, incredilous. 'Hiei' laughed.
"Of course, I was killed in the Makai, and I wandered as a spirit before I could be taken to hell. I came across your battered body. I healed your wounds and fused my spirit with your body. I even got your memories. So I technically am you. I just got a nice redhead in the deal." He smirked at Hiei's glare.
""You bastard....you have no right.....Kurama didn't deserve that!"" He felt more anger than he ever felt before. This THING was taking over his life, taking his place by Kurama's side. He wouldn't allow it!
""You don't deserve Kurama, leave him alone!"" 'Hiei' frowned.
"Yes, he caught on rather quickly that I am not you, but I'll change that. This is a nice home, with a nice...wife...I'll enjoy your life for you Hiei...." The imposter laughed, much to Hiei's annoyance. 'Hiei' smirked.
"I guess it's time to go make up with my lovely bride...*snicker" Hiei's eyes widened.
""Don't you go near him!"" He cried, blocking the imposter's path. Laughing, the fake just stepped right through the bewildered ghost. He laughed all the way down the stairs. Shaking his fist in rage, Hiei followed behind. Reaching the kitchen, 'Hiei' found the kitsune putting the mop away, finished with cleaning the blood on the floor. Feeling a presence, the fox whirled around and cowered. 'Hiei' frowned. He didn't want the kitsune afraid of him. Kurama stepped forward.
"Hiei, I'm so sorry for doubting you. Please....I know I'm not worthy, but could you find it in your heart, to forgive me?" He pleaded with his hands wrapped around himself. The imposter grinned. Hiei bugged his eyes.
""You don't need to apologize to this creep! Kick his ass Kurama!"" He knew it was worthless...which it was. The imposter wrapped his arms around the kitsune, whispering apologies and words of love. Hiei wanted to scream and cry. He tried kicking the counter, his foot going right through it. Kurama sobbed softly against the imposter's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Hiei, I just, they said you were....I don't know why I didn't believe you! You were acting so different!" He sobbed harder, glad to be in his koorime's arms. 'Hiei' shushed him and rocked him back and forth.
"I know I acted different, but I had been fighting for my life to see you, and couldn't help myself when I saw you standing there in your silk robe. You were so sexy and I had been lonely. I'm sorry fox." Hiei seethed with anger. He wanted to cry so bad. He wanted to wake up from this nightmare and be tucked in Kurama's arms. Finally, he felt a tear trecking it's way down his cheek. He knew this wasn't a dream. He'd never wake up from it.
Kurama sniffled and pulled away. Smiling softly, he giggled.
"A little late, but, "Welcome Home Hiei." He giggled again and wiped his eyes. The imposter smirked.
"Yeah whatever. I've got guests coming tonight, so you better make dinner for three more people. And get this house cleaned up! I'm going out." He stated before turning and walking out the door. Kurama just stood there, blinking.
"What? No goodbye, or where you're going?" Sighing, Kurama looked around the house. It wasn't dirty, but it could be dusted a little bit. Hiei slowly felt his rage leaving him. He had to contact Kurama somehow. There had to be a way! He stood before the fox.
""Kurama?"" He said, doubtfully. The fox didn't even acknowledge him. Sighing, he perched himself on the windowsill and watched Kurama going around the house, cleaning things that weren't even dirty.
Taking a deep breath, Kurama wiped his brow. The house was clean, now he just needed to fix dinner. Sighing, Kurama headed to the kitchen, with a protective ghost right on his heel. The fox looked at the clock on the wall.
"Hmm, 7:30, Hiei will probably be back soon with his...guests. Who could Hiei possibly be inviting over? And....why is he so...different..?" He pondered to himself, running around the kitchen, preparing food. Humming to himself, Kurama finished making dinner. He glanced at the clock once more.
"8:30, he'll be home soon." Smiling, Kurama finished setting the table. The silence was broken as the front door banged open. Kurama jerked his head around and smiled gently. 'Hiei' and three other rough looking men came trudging through the house, noisely settling down at the table. Kurama noted that the men had a sour smell and look to them. He didn't like it. The imposter sneered at Hiei, who was sitting on the windowsill, glaring. Digging in the food, 'Hiei' turned to his uncomfortable lover.
"Hey bitch, I need you to run to the store, pick up some beer for me and the boys." He said this, smirking at the fox. Kurama blinked.
"Don't you want me to do it after dinner?" He asked, head cocked to the side. 'Hiei' stopped eating.
"No, do it now, it's not like you need to eat. You're fat enough as it is. Lose some damn weight." His friends snickered along with the imposter. Kurama was taken aback. He blinked before slowly turning around and leaving the kitchen. Grabbing his coat and carkeys, Kurama left the house, trying to hold back tears. Hiei snarled and glared at the imposter before following the kitsune out of the house. 'Hiei' just smirked at the ghost's retreating back.
"Kurama solemnly drove the car down the street. Hiei glanced at him from his place in the passenger seat. He needed to find a way to talk to Kurama. He couldn't let this FAKE take over his life and make Kurama's a living Hell. Pondering on what to do, he jumped when he heard the radio come on. He looked over and saw Kurama had started singing along with a song. It was "When you Lie Next to Me" by Kelly Coffey. He marveled at the fox's sweet voice. Lost in the song, Hiei forgot all about contacting Kurama and just lost himself in the voice.
