Part IV: Truths

Shuuichi was very nervous. Why? Because he didn't know how was he going to get back. Besides staying with the demon that used your body and bonded with your soul that you haven't seen eye to eye with and stuck in the past is kinda creepy. At least, in Shuuichi's book. Now he figured if he saw that demon they were supposed to apprehend before this happened. He thought, maybe, the demon would be in the past but wondered why would he want to go in the past?

Of course there were always possibilities. There was the take over the world theme, which was so unoriginal, or maybe change the future for a few reasons. Shuuichi wondered what the demon would gain by bringing him here. He looked up as a plate of food was in front of him. The fox demon was standing there handing him something to eat. It didn't click in his brain immediately but one growl from the demon he immediately reacted taking it and started eating a little. The only thing he hoped was that this wasn't some other demon. That was just disgusting.

When he was finished he just lied his head down on the kitsune's lap not realizing it. He was very tired and needed to have some sleep. He might wake up sore in the morning but he didn't care. He needed some sleep. He soon drifted off to the world of dreams.

Youko stared down at the sleeping human. Wondering at the same time why the hell was he even doing this? He felt as if they were connected or something. He wondered what. The fact is he wanted to know how a human came into the Makai in the first place? Plus he was still pondering why he didn't take advantage of the human yet. He'd hate to admit it but the human was beautiful. The delicate heart-shaped face showed innocence along with the expressive green eyes. But the early display showed that the young looking redhead was far from naïve.

He decided to sleep it off. Maybe this was all a dream and it was just an illusion because he was being sexually deprived. He drifted off to sleep.

------------------------------------------

Some light shinned through the vast tall trees of the Makai. The sleeping redhead tried to turn away but found that he couldn't. He slowly opened his eyes and saw white. Okay that was unusual. He slowly sat up and saw Youko sleeping right there. Then he remembered what happened last night or the past day.

Shuuichi backtracked and remembered being separated from Youko then waking up in the Makai then finding out it was the past! This was really starting to freak him out. It didn't bother him yesterday but now it was slowly processing in his mind. Okay, panicking would get him nowhere. He sighed. He needed to think of some way to get back. Now how the hell was he going to do that?

Okay, he was thinking. Of what, he didn't know. After a while a light bulb lighted up in his head. He knew exactly what to do just how he was going to do it was totally impossible. Maybe he should start something to attract, the demon that took him here, attention. His eyes trailed to the waking youko. He grinned mischievously. Oh the fox demon was so in for it.

Past or present he was so going to cause Youko as much trouble as much as he could.

------------------------------------------

Back in the present…

Youko woke up abruptly. Realizing that things were just about to become a nightmare he quickly looked around. But noticed that he was just in Genkai's backyard forest. He sighed in relief. At least it was his past self that would experience the torture though he would be the one to remember it. He himself vowed that in the future if he ever met the kid at all he'd…actually he didn't know. He was rather surprised that he was reincarnated into Shuuichi's body in this lifetime. Well now that he could enjoy sweet freedom maybe he could have some fun first.

He heard Koenma's voice looking for him. Okay maybe he could only toy with Koenma's mind a little bit. Bring the demi-god's confidence down like he always can. It was a favorite past time. Seeing as how he'd end up in jail for stealing again they weren't going to go easy on him. Youko casually went inside the temple appearing to be oblivious to the crowd. He didn't want to attract attention to himself though that doesn't work.

"Youko," Koenma sounded like he demanded him to attend. He turned his eyes over to the little baby and glared. He smirked mentally to see the god cower before him.

"Yes?" he asked casually. Pretending to be sugary sweet wasn't his thing and would just piss him off even more if people treated him like one. He stood over Koenma intimidating him with his height.

"Um…umm…" Koenma began way to scared to speak.

"Well, spit it out already!" Youko shouted frightening the little god.

"Calm down Kurama before you scare him into dying this time," Yuusuke commented completely finding this situation hilarious, "If he couldn't speak he just wants to tell you that that demon sent both of them back in time and that somehow we have to go and retrieve them both so the future wouldn't change."

"It doesn't matter detective. The future wouldn't have changed. If you need me I'm going somewhere and it's none of your business. I've got make sure the brat's mother doesn't go into hysterics to know her son is missing."

He put on the necessary clothing to hide usual stuff about himself. No use freaking out the humans now. He slipped outside before anyone could stop him, he was already fifty steps down.

------------------------------------------

Shiori was happily cooking. Actually she was worried about her son. He didn't return home two nights in a row. Yuusuke called and said that he'd be staying at their place for a week but the week was already up and maybe something happened and they're just trying to keep it on a low profile? There were plenty of possibilities. Apparently she had a feeling that her darling Shuuichi was hiding something from her. It plagued her mind to no end.

(A/N: I just noticed that in all of my non-crossover YYH stories I always involve Shiori. Meh, it's just something I picked up anyways sorry for disturbing you. So in shortest words as possible back to the story!)

The doorbell rang. She stopped her musings and cooking and went to answer the door. She hoped that it was Shuuichi. Upon opening the door she was rather surprised and shocked that a tall man with silver hair and golden eyes was standing at the front door and a very beautiful, handsome one to boot.

"Um…yes can I help you?" she asked politely though a bit hesitant.

"No but I need to tell you something. Something concerning your son," he said.

"He's not dead is he? Nothing's wrong with him?" she asked in hysterics. The silver-haired man just chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry Mrs. Minamino. There's nothing wrong with him. I'll explain everything."

"Please come inside. Do you want anything to drink?" she offered.

"No, thank you."

"Okay, have a seat in the living room and I'll just prepare some tea incase you change your mind."

Kurama did as he was told and looked around. He just realized that as he was living inside the human he never did look at the interior of the house. Of course he was always permitted to look outside but he never really bothered finding it pointless. Then again he wondered why Shuuichi always seemed a bit upset at that. He sat down on the soft couch and maneuvered so that his tail wouldn't be crushed. It did hurt when it was bent at the juncture of its connection.

Shiori then came back with a tray of tea. As much as he didn't prefer it he just accepted it anyways. Apparently telling everything was already making him nervous. Besides its just these things that mothers have about giving you feelings of unease when you meet them for the first time. It's as if you're guilty of something. Shizuru was right this was a bad idea. If you're wondering, they meet on the street as he was walking and had a little chat. He told her what he was going to do and she just gave him advice to calm down. Since he hasn't used his special lying abilities in a while. He sighed. This was so going to be hard, very hard.

He took a deep breath and began. He looked emotionless telling his story while Shiori was looking at him with many different emotions. He looked on seeing the flash of emotions lingered with thoughts through her eyes. Most of them he could tell were in disbelief. Kurama knew that she wouldn't believe him but then again he didn't hide himself first for nothing. After talking he waited for an answer. Apparently Shiori seemed to be in her own little world. Most likely trying not to believe anything she just heard in the past few twenty minutes.

"You're joking right? Please tell me that it isn't real," she said in a frightful whisper. Kurama sighed mentally.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's true," Kurama said while taking off the hat exposing his fox ears and taking off his jacket exposing the silver tail that swished glad to be free of confinement. Shiori stood up.

"Excuse me for a moment," she said before slowly walking to the kitchen. Her mind was in hysterics. She couldn't think. She knew that her son was hiding something from her but she didn't figure it to be this big. She was worried that he wasn't really her son just some shell for the fox demon. Shiori came back a minute later and saw Kurama looking at the pictures on top of the fireplace. She first needed to know a few things.

"Is…are…is he alive?" she asked a bit reluctantly. Kurama turned to face her.

"Yes." He answered. It was the truth. Had it not been for the kid he wouldn't even be alive.

"Is…is he his own person?"

"He is. That kid gives me more of a headache than getting hit repeatedly on the head."

"Oh…where is he?"

"He's…it's complicated. He'll come back. I'll make sure of it." Kurama said before showing his way out leaving a worried and a saddened mother. She decided to just sleep it off. Maybe everything was all a dream and the fox demon never came and told her those things. Demons do not exist.

Well he came out with the truth. She'd find out sooner or later since Shuuichi was supposed to stay a week and the week was up. He might as well. Koenma will scold him only mildly or not at all since he is rather persuasive. Now he just needed to remember something about time traveling then he could be on his merry way to get Shuuichi back and cause trouble for the human for messing with him in the past.

Revenge is a dish served cold.

Kinshin: I apologize for my lateness it's because ideas keep coming in my head and I get all these stupid random things that I just think about and…okay I'll stop making excuses except the fact that school is taking over my life! They said have fun while you're still young. But school takes up most of it so I guess you can only have fun studying but since I'm always finished I just draw some random anime characters and people ask me for them with charge, of course, and I've just been also writing my other stories too! Such a busy life. Anyways I hope you're not tired of this yet!
