Syra wandered the streets of Paris happily, about twenty-three years old. She ran away from home to live in Paris, the city of romance.

She dressed boyishly, almost like a pirate with her big, puffy sleeved, button down shirt that came tightly around her wrists. Her pants were the same, thick material tights with the knee-high boots. But the boots didn't have the chains or skulls, and they only had a one inch heel. Her hair was up in a ponytail.

Syra was living with a couple who took her in gladly. They owned a doll shop, of which they gave her complete control of. That's when she saw him.

He was leaning against a wall, his arms crossed. His black hair was long, down to about his shoulders. He wore a black cloak. Among his dark looks, he had blood red eyes, boring holes into Syra.

She blushed slightly and hurried to the doll shop.

One night, he came into the shop and leaned over the wood counter and watched her brush a dolls perfect curly hair. He smirked, enjoying how she tried to ignore his presence and hide her deep blush.

“Uh, um. Can I he-help you?” She asked, finally looking up at him.

“Depends, my love. Can you accompany me to dinner tonight?” He asked, smirking even bigger as Syra's face grew brighter. “But sir, I do not know your name.” She mumbled, turning her back to him.

“Oh! Where have my manners gone. My name is Hiei. What is your name, love?” He asked, his tone forcing her to turn around.

His crimson orbs just reeled her in, seduced her, almost aroused her. “I-I'm Syra.” She replied, getting lost in his eyes.

They went to dinner every night after that and soon were considered lovers.

Sometimes, she would look out her window at night and see him sleeping in the tree right outside or just standing on the fence watching her. She wasn't alarmed by it. Syra thought it to be kind of cute.

But she never knew what she had gotten herself into.

One night, Hiei snuck into her room and woke her from her sleep.

“Hiei? What is it?” Syra asked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

“I want to show you something, love.” He whispered seductively, leading her to her window. “But I must get dressed!” She whispered harshly. “No need for that, my love.” He whispered right into her ear, his breath tickling her neck.

Syra blushed. “But I am only in a night gown.” Hiei snaked his arm around her waist. “Have I ever given you a reason not to trust me?” He asked, his lips brushing against her neck slightly.

Syra fell into him, already succumbed to his persuasion, he was too alluring.

She could feel him smirk as they climbed out her bedroom window and walked out to a nearby park. They walked a while until he pulled a bracelet out of his pocket. It was a gold chain with rubies along it.

“Hiei! How could you afford this?” Syra cried, fumbling to put it on. “Love, nothing in the world, not even the most precious pearl, can amount to how much you are worth.”

She got the bracelet on, but Hiei had already latched his teeth into her neck. His strong arms wrapped around her tightly, holding her still.

He could not silence her persistent screaming, though. Her struggling was strong, but weakened with every passing minute.

`I can't die this way! Lied to and deceived! I just can't!' Syra thought, too weak to scream, fight, or whimper at that.

“Hold onto life, love.” Hiei whispered, cutting a little slit in his throat. He quickly brought her mouth to the tiny cut.

As soon as just a little bit rolled down her throat, Syra felt a sudden ecstasy. She chomped her now alive jaws down on his neck and sucked hard, bringing as much of his sweet blood she could into her mouth.

He chuckled darkly, his soothing façade gone. “Now, my love, you are one of the night.”

Syra stared in horror up at him, only to earn the most evil laugh she had ever heard. “Yes, love, I deceived you. I meant to kill you, but you are far too beautiful to die.”

She hated him ever since, and after a hundred years, she ran away, keeping the bracelet to remind her of her naivety.

She vowed to kill him, one way or another…
