Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Untitled ❯ To Spirit World ( Chapter 7 )
In this chapter, they go to Spirit World, next chapter is to Demon World. I hope you like.
R&R! ^_^ oh, and to the person who said they had a Greek alphabet, it wasn’t Greek, it was in Symbol text, but if you could read it that’s ok. Just an FYI.
Kuwabara paused to think.
“Well, we’re going to ask Yusuke.”
Kurama froze. “Why do we have to ask Yusuke?”
“Because he’s the Spirit Detective.”
Kurama shook his head.
“Do you not remember that Yusuke was a problem a few hours ago?”
(They were at the park around 4:45- 5:00, and the time now is 7:00.)
“Problem or not, he’s our friend, Kurama, and we’re gonna have to forgive each other eventually.”
Kurama nodded. “But if he gets mean, I’m leaving.”
Kuwabara shook his head. Kurama had forgotten again what condition he was in.
“And if you’re worrying about me, don’t. my leg is feeling better, and unless someone grabs my shoulder like you did at the park, I’ll be fine.”
Kuwabara crossed his arms. “Yeah, right. Walk around the room and I’ll see if you’re really fine.”
Kurama took a deep breath and started to walk along the side of the room with the window. Kuwabara made sure that he wasn’t using it as support. Then when Kurama was on the last wall, which had nothing really on it, except the door, Kuwabara smiled. Maybe he was going to be alright. Then the door opened very quickly and hit Kurama on the left side. Kurama gripped his shoulder and went to sit on the bed.
“Kuwabara, I’ve been thinking it over and I’m going to tell Mom if you don’t tell me what’s going on,” Shizuru said, coming into the room.
Kuwabara groaned.
“Shizuru! Why do you have to come in at the wrong moments?!” he yelled.
“Because I’m your sister, and I’m supposed to annoy you,” Shizuru replied.
Kurama rolled his eyes. “C’mon, Kuwabara, we have to go!” he said insistently.
“Where are you going?” Shizuru asked.
Kuwabara ignored her and opened his door. He and Kurama then walked down the stairs, Kuwabara watching Kurama carefully to make sure that he hadn’t been lying earlier about his leg being fine.
“So, how do we get to Spirit World?” Kuwabara asked, once they were heading in the direction of Yusuke’s house.
“Well, I thought it’d be easier if we just ask Botan to take us to Spirit World, then go to the Demon World from there,” Kurama said.
Kuwabara nodded. “But don’t you have to get permission from Koenma to go to the Demon World?”
Kurama smiled. “That hasn’t stopped me before.”
A few minutes later, they had arrived to Yusuke’s house. The time was 7:30. Kuwabara walked up and banged on the door.
“Hey! Uremeshi! Get out here!” he yelled.
They saw the window open, then Yusuke look out. He saw who it was, and leaned on the windowsill.
“What do you want, Kuwabara?” he called.
“We want you to come with us to the you-know-where!” Kuwabara called back.
Yusuke seemed to be confused.
“‘We’?” he asked. “Kuwabara, what do you mean by ‘we’?”
Kurama felt a mix of being sad that Yusuke pretended not to notice him, and being angry that Yusuke was being so rude and childish. He knew the angriness was his demon side thinking, but this time he welcomed it. He wanted to feel angry at the person who was acting like such a…
STOP! he thought. It’s okay to be angry, but this is just too much!
He felt his other side subside, but he sort of missed it when all he felt was his human sadness.
“Kurama? Hello, is anyone home?”
Kurama became aware of a hand in front of his face and remembered that that was the reason why Yusuke got mad at him in the first place.
“Sorry,” he said quickly.
“I don’t know, Kuwabara,” they heard Yusuke say. “Would I rather stay here, with my mother drunk, and nothing good on TV, or go to the Spirit World, and almost get killed… hmm… hard choice…”
“Just get to the point, Uremeshi!” Kuwabara yelled.
“Alright, alright, I’m coming, sheesh… You really thought I’d stay here and be bored out of my mind with a ridiculous mother?”
The window closed, and they heard the faint sound of something that sounded like an-
“AWRIGHT!”
Kuwabara smiled and turned to Kurama.
“So, you ready to forgive him?” he asked. Kurama paused.
“I guess so, if he’s willing to forgive me,” he said quietly.
On the way to a secluded place in the woods they went to when they were going to do ‘Spirit Stuff’, Kurama turned to Yusuke.
“Umm… I’m sorry about earlier, Yusuke…” Kurama mumbled.
Yusuke waved it off.
“Nah, it was my fault,” he replied. “I was being stubborn, and I didn’t realize how serious your injuries were.” he paused and looked down.
“Umm… Kurama, you’re walking. Normally.”
Kurama smiled. “I know. My leg is feeling better, it just takes more effort to walk.”
Kuwabara looked back at them.
“Kurama, what do you mean, ‘more effort’?”
Kurama looked away.
“Nothing, Kuwabara. Nothing…”
Kuwabara stood in front of him.
“NO, Kurama, I’m not letting you go until you tell me what you meant!”
“It just takes more energy, is all! I swear, that’s it, Kuwabara!”
Kuwabara stopped when he saw Kurama’s scared expression.
“I’m sorry, did I scare you?” he asked.
“N-no, never mind…” Kurama said softly.
Kuwabara shook his head.
“Let it go, Kuwabara,” Yusuke said.
They had reached the clearing. Kuwabara sat down on a tree stump. Kurama carefully sat down on the ground.
“So, Uremeshi, how do we get to Spirit World now?” Kuwabara asked.
“I’m calling Botan, be patient, you big oaf!” Yusuke snapped. Kurama smiled. He knew they were just being the strange friends they were.
Yusuke concentrated on his Spirit Gun, and shot it into the air. He sat down, and smiled. Botan would be here soon.
“So, how long does it take for Botan to get here?” Kurama asked.
“Umm… about five minutes,” Yusuke replied. “Sometimes more, sometimes less. Depends on if she has a case to work on or not.”
Kurama nodded, and slowly moved into a more comfortable position.
“I really hope we find Hiei…” he said softly. “He was my friend…”
Kuwabara smiled. “Yeah, and even though we didn’t really like each other, he was an okay guy, really.”
Then they heard a whooshing noise and looked up to see Botan coming down. She waved, pulled up to a stop, and landed gracefully on a tree stump.
“So, where do you wanna go?” she asked brightly.
“We were going to Spirit World,” Yusuke said. “We need permission from Koenma to go to the Demon World.”
Botan blinked.
“But I don’t know if he has the authority to-”
“Listen, Botan! Hiei’s missing, and we need to get him back! Now are you going to let us go or not?!” Yusuke said angrily.
“Uremeshi, you have to learn to control your temper!” Kuwabara said, annoyed. “That’s why you nearly lost Kurama!”
Yusuke paused then took a deep breath. He relaxed, then looked up at Botan.
“Can you please take us to Spirit World?” he asked politely.
Kuwabara blinked.
“I think he’s more scary like this than he is angry,” he whispered to Kurama.
Kurama smiled.
“So… how are we gonna get all three of you on the oar and me?” they heard Botan ask.
Kuwabara groaned.
“Oh great…” * * *
They ended up having Botan sit in the front, of course, with Kurama behind her, and Kuwabara sitting behind Kurama. But as for Yusuke, *chuckles* he had to hold on to the end of the oar and hang on for the ride. Kuwabara made sure he didn’t fall off, of course, but he wouldn’t have really cared if he fell off or not. Botan would have saved him anyway.
When they arrived at Spirit World, Botan gracefully got off the oar and helped the others off. Yusuke, who was hanging onto the end, got off by himself. Then Botan led them down the hall past all the ogres to Koenma’s office.
“Hello? Koenma sir?” Botan asked as she stepped into the office. “The Spirit Detective has a question for you.”
Koenma looked up from the papers on his desk.
“Yusuke is here?”
Botan nodded. “Yes, sir. Him and his teammates- well… one of them is missing…”
“Which one?” Koenma asked.
“Hiei is missing, sir, and we need permission to go to Demon World!” Yusuke said, annoyed, walking into the room, followed by Kurama and Kuwabara.
Koenma looked flustered.
“Oh my, Hiei missing, Demon World business… what a day!” he exclaimed, rushing around the room, looking for passports to Demon World.
“I really hope we can find him…” Kurama said. “Before it’s too late…”
“What?” Yusuke asked, turning around to face Kurama. “What d’you mean, ‘too late’?”
Kurama stepped back, looking a little nervous.
“I- I read the book that Botan showed me and Kuwabara, and I read that… umm.. Yusuke, why are you looking at me like that?”
Yusuke was glaring at Kurama with his arms crossed, and it seemed like he was trying his best not to punch his lights out. Kurama backed away into a wall. Yusuke walked up to him and smirked. Kurama seemed confused. Then Yusuke did a very childish thing. He stomped on Kurama’s right foot. Hard.
Kurama winced and put his weight on his left leg before realizing his mistake. He fell to the ground and landed on his shoulder, making him see stars for the second time that night. He whimpered and quickly sat up, gripping his shoulder, closing his eyes tight. Yusuke chuckled.
“I can’t believe you fell for that,” he said, walking back to Koenma to get the papers he needed. Kuwabara growled.
“That was mean, Uremeshi!” he said angrily. “I can’t believe you just did something so cruel, even for you!”
“He is right, Yusuke,” Botan said, frowning. “That was really mean. Taking advantage of his injuries.”
Yusuke growled. “Who do you think I am? Karasu?”
Kurama glared at Yusuke and stood up, using the wall as support.
“Karasu is the reason Hiei is gone!” he yelled. “He… he took Hiei when he was on his way back to the Demon World…” his eyes filled with tears.
“He took my friend, and you just… you…” he sank down to his knees, shoulders shaking with the effort of trying not to cry.
Botan knelt by him and put her hand on his good shoulder.
“It’ll be okay,” she said quietly. “You’ll see Hiei again.”
“But who knows what Karasu did to him?!” Kurama said, in a mix between sadness and anger.
He tried to stand up, but fell right back down. He looked at his leg and growled.
“Nothing is going right!” he cried. “I just want to see Hiei back and away from that… that-”
But what Kurama was going to say was stopped. A small gold light flashed and Kurama felt lightheaded. He hoped everything would be okay. * * *
So, what do you think? I like putting in cliffhangers, and in case you’re wondering, there will not be any love kind scenes. I’m not good at those. Kurama just wants Hiei back real bad because they are good friends.
