Yu Yu Hakusho: The Black Roses
Note - I USED to have a reason for Juu grabbing his head last chapter. But...I forgot X_X So just ignore it.
Note 2 - In my universe, there are more Reikai Tantei then Kurama, Kuwabara, Hiei, and Yuusuke, but all of them are on other buisiness, which is why Yuusuke got stuck with the Beasts.
Chapter 4:
Into the Makai
Yuusuke begins running down the road with Kuwabara, almost screaming Botan's name. He turned down and alleyway, continuing to scream, until he bumped into a person, falling to the ground. He looked up at the girl standing above him. Her blue hair was up, looking at him through black eyes. She wore a brown jacket over a black t-shirt and light jeans.
"Do you have to yell, Yuusuke? There ARE people trying to sleep..."
"I REALLY don't give a damn, Botan..." Yuusuke growled, standing up. He looked at her. "We were attacked by this guy, I think his name was Juu. He tried killing us both, and he almost succeeded."
Botan's eyes widened, and then she giggled. "So you met Juu, eh? He was told he was being stuck with one of our Reikai Tantei to avoid jail, along with Kurama and Hiei. You remember them, don't you? From when they stole the Artifacts of Darkness?" He nodded and she continued. "But he didn't know which one. He doesn't seem to like Reiki that much...."
"I have to work with that psycho? Wait...what is he being stuck with me for?" He asked.
"We need to send you to the Makai. Outside of a main city, a castle lays dormant. It it surrounded by a barrier, but the inhabitants have sent out insects into the Ningenkai to inslave the humans. They threaten to inslave them all if we don't allow them access out of the barrier, Yuusuke!" She explained and motioned to a warehouse to the side. "We made a small breech in the barrier so you could get through, however. We need you to get the Makai Whistle, a large flute-like whistle that controls the insects." She completely ignored the fact that Kuwabara was with Yuusuke, leading them into a warehouse. She walked to a specific floor panel and lifted it up, tossing it to the side, revealing a bright green light.
She then acknowledged Kuwabara, "You know, you don't have to go."
"Of course I don't. But I will because Urameshi will probably die without my help..." Kuwabara said, assured. Yuusuke yawned, purposely knocking Kuwabara into the green light, and he began falling, but before he was all the way he went through, he grabbed Yuusuke's leg, the two falling into the Makai, Botan watching, sweatdropping.
They plummetted into the Makai, reaching the ground, crashing quite loudly. They got up slowly, brushing the dirt off. Yuusuke and Kuwabara looked around, and froze when they realized what they were surrounded by. Little, tiny things with green hands and brown cloaks concealing their bodies and faces.
"Let's kill them! Let's kill them all!" One of the small ones said in an evil, yet high-pitched, voice. Three of them ran at Yuusuke and Kuwabara, jumping into the air when they froze. They slowly fell to the ground, and then the two Ningens watched the other demons run off. They looked down at the bodies to see a Black Rose in the head of one, a regular rose in the head of another, and a sword in the head of a third one. They whirled around to a tree, to see three figures standing there as they jumped from a branch.
One was Juu, smirking. He held out his hand. "Owaru." The Fugaki's head exploded, and then Juu turned to Yuusuke. "Well isn't this just going to be fun. Three of the greatest Youkai's in the three worlds, and we get stuck with the two newest Tantei!" He glared and then turned to the other two. "Wouldn't you agree, Kuro Ryuu? Fox Boi?"
The shorter of the two glared at Yuusuke and Kuwabara. His black hair was spiked and seemed to literally defy gravity. He was wearing a black cloak, a sword hilt hanging gently at his waist. He was quite short, and his eyes showed he definately wasn't happy. The taller one looked at them and sighed. He had poofy, red hair that went someway down his back, wearing a pinkish school uniform somewhat similar to Yuusuke's. He smiled gently and walked up to them.
"It's nice to see you again, Yuusuke." He spoke gently.
The shorter one walked foward and looked at Yuusuke. "Let me get one thing straight. As far as me and Juu are concerned, we're babysitting. Kurama may think we actually need you help, but we do not need the help of a group of Ningens."
Kurama sighed. "Hiei, don't get too mean. We DO need them. I think..."
"We don't need them Kurama. Demons have never needed Ningens to help them...why start now?" Juu growled. "We might as well go, though...kill the Saint Beasts and get out of here..." Truthfully, he felt a familiar prescence he didn't want to run into. He didn't have the time. The others nodded and they headed off to Maze Castle, Juu the only one with even the slightest feeling that the group was being watched.
