*groans* i forgot to email you?! shit shit shit.. so incredibly busy, planning a funeral, uhm i have to go out of town for the next three days, but in that time i will for sure write up an adequate email. now on to the review! great chapter of course, i loved absolutely loved the bit with sesshomaru going through the fridge with a wooden spoon that was hilarous. and i love douglas adams so i totally got that part. And now in really curious. who is the missing sibling? what part does this sibling play in the story? when will rin bump into sesshomaru? will it be inuyasha who tells them, or will they do it by themselves.. and whats gonna happen with kagome? Inu mentioned that kikyou cheated on him at least twice, why does he tolerate that? *yeah i know kettle black that whole thing* but why doesnt he just dump kiks and go with kags. BOTH of them are HIGURASHI's.. right? hehe inu can just tell his dad that he switched. *grins* ah well keep up the good work and i will try and do what i said i would.

I loved this chapter. You portrayed Sess really well. I also like your Miroku. For once someone didn't make him a sissy and a pushover! He's sly and I love you 'cause you made him very in-character. Another thing that attracts me about your stories is all the details you write. One can FEEL and SEE whatever your chars are going through. Great job! I can't wait for more!

Another good chapter - and it will lead so wonderfully into squish and confrontations between Sess and Rin. Thanks for the heads up on Chapter 7. I usually read the previous chapter whenever a new one comes up, but I haven't gone that far back in a while. I like that you used this chapter to give us a look at Inu's childhood, even if it is from a side view. Is Jiro another one of those characters that I have forgotten from a previous chapter? Off to read chappie 7, and maybe a few others to reaquaint myself. Oh, BTW, I was reading some of the other replies where you had mentioned doing some research on the BDSM lifestyle. I have an aquaintance (who is also on the IYFanGuild) who is into the lifestyle if you have any questions. His name is new2meridies.

i thought oberon was at inu's house, had me scared for a bit! but now with sesshy living with them, and rin supposed to be stopping by, this is gonna be fun! if kenren is who i think he is...hehe! i cant wait for more inu/kags interaction, i wanna see what happens there too...and with kikyou =/ awesome update!

SESSHY!!!!!!!! He finally makes his grand appearance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder what he's doing at Inu's place? Dang, and Rin was so close to spilling the beans....(by the way, love how you used the name Catherine for Rin, so clever!) Poor Kagome's left in the dark about all of it at the cafe. Oh MY God! This fic just gets better andddd betterrr! argghhh you and youre amazingness never ever ceases to amaze me! Poor Kagome and poor Inu both so close to the ultimate truth and neither know theyve met before under very... different circumstances. Finally some Miroku Sango action, those two are adorable! And even though Sango seems disgusted by BDSM, she seems very dominatrix-ish to mee! *Slap* "Miroku., youve been a very bad boy." I have to say I am VERY impressed by this fic. I found it randomly one day while surfing around after you'd updated it and I absolutely love it! It's the first BDSM story I've ever read online and I think you do it really well. You seem to know quite a bit about it. From one writer to another I'm curious where you got your inspiration for this piece? Is this something that you're in to yourself or did you just do a lot of background research? Either way, well done. I really enjoy all of your literary and movie references as well. Princess Bride? Hello! The mental image of Miroku in leather with a whip saying that line aloud almost made my cry laughing. To me a mark of a good writer is one who can connect to their readers through modern references that go beyond the simple black and white of the story plot. You accomplish this with nearly every chapter so kudos to you! You really surprised me with the Bankotsu relationship though. In the lead up I was SO certain it was Kouga what with the possessiveness, the pet names, the ingrained rivalry, but I have to say that Bankotsu was a completely unexpected but pleasant surprise. I can definitely picture him in the sadistic role more than I can Kouga...it just wouldn't have suited him. My only suggestion to you would be to do a little more proof reading. In the later chapters there are a lot more typos that could be really easily fixed with a quick read through. All in all though Shades of Gray is an amazing piece of fiction. I couldn't stop reading it and it kept me up late several nights as I eagerly went through chapter after chapter. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was when I got to the end of 18 and realized that I would have to wait for more. I could make predictions about what I think is coming up next but I think you've already proven that you have the ability to throw your readers for a loops so for now I'll keep them to myself. Good luck with your writing and just know that you've earned yourself a new fan.
