You have some very interesting context happening here, like Inuyasha's 'awakening' and instant uptake of a role within the new environment that almost seem to come of instinct. However, you need to meat it up a little bit more, dear. For example; between Inuyasha's awakening and him meeting Kagome, you could have had the Red Headed woman describe how he was found (while she was talking to a new co-worker at the lab, for example. That would be a good way to take the readers through it) and what caused him to sleep and awaken like that, as well as given a little background check on Kagome herself and possibly given the girl something unique to her and this story, like a job which might have led her to be out late at night. What you could have also done was spend some more time with Inuyasha at the centre, so that the readers could have seen him progressing through his speech and his adjustment to his new envornment and role. It could all be done in one chapter if its hurried up and talked about in third person. ^v~ I'll be looking out for this because its got good premises, but try to meat it up some more! It'll be more fun to write like that too.
