Well, as promised, I'm giving your S/R stuff a shot :) Don't kill me, I had to start with the general stuff and work my way in, LOL!! I chose this piece because so many people complimented you on your characterization of Sesshoumaru. I must agree with the masses, it was really quite nice! You definitely understand that under his stoic facade beats the heart of a curious and concerned being (man?). He's far more bothered by Rin's behavior than he lets on, which is just typical. It's also typical of him to be so observant of her moods, behaviors, and interactions with Jaken. But what I really liked about this piece - and what truly brought it home to me - was the end, where Rin confesses what was bothering her. It would be SO tempting to write him as wrapping her in his arms and reassuring her that he'd never put her off (not after travelling together so long), especially given all the exposition before that. However, you did him a solid, showing him speaking with cool indifference to her choices ("Do as you please"), and yet still conveying reassurance to her that she was welcome by his side. It was very reminiscent of the end of the anime episode, "Forever with Lord Sesshoumaru," when he tells her much the same thing after rescuing her from the monks. I think this part of him is what so many writers have trouble with, and why so many of them write him badly - they don't understand how or why he can act this way: either he's ice cold to the bone and thus, has no rich inner life, or he's twisted into something else as they take that tempting, easy road out. But that, to me, is precisely what makes him so fun to write, something of a contradiction in terms. As for the overall piece, it was really nicely written. There was some repeated imagery I thought could've been cut, but nothing that takes away from the story (or even distracts, really). But you have a very lyrical quality to the prose, wonderful description (I liked the moon metaphors, a nice tie-in to the inspiration song!), and you really bring out the angst and drama qualities, on both Rin's and Sesshoumaru's parts. Even though this story was rated G, I honestly thought it was going somewhere else, what with Rin's desolate crying and all :P Thanks for the wonderful read, and I look forward to looking at more of your songfics.

This was really good! I loved how Sesshomaru is just like, 'Okay, what the hell...?' the entire time, but in a really sweet way.

Wow. This fic was supremely enjoyable. What had to have impressed me the most was your characteration (sp?) of Sesshoumaru. It's rare to see such a sweet, insightful side of him while still being authentic to his personality. I also liked how you treated it as a Songfic- many times, when the lyrics are interspersed throughout the story, it can be choppy and annoying- but this was fantastic. I can only say thank you for sharing this.

Wow this is a really well-written, descriptive and introspective oneshot. It has to be one of the best songfics I've seen in a long time too. Excellent job! And you kept the characters very well in character!

Amazingly written! I was extremely impressed at your ability to keep this story so entertaining and descriptive. Most people end up making their fan fictions/stories too choppy with all the detail that they put in. However, your's, it's smooth and "goes with the flow". :D I enjoyed this story immensely! It's just like Jaken to say something horrid to Rin in his irritation! :P You've captured all the characters well, and kept them like themselves - you know, without the constant OOC'ness nowadays. x.x; I'm definately going to add this fanfiction to my "Favourites" list. =) I loved the sweet ending where Rin picked Sesshomaru flowers! I really appreciated how you captured all sides of Sesshomaru - not just the tough, stoic guy that we see all the time. You've shown us that there is actually a soft, more concerned side to this man, and you've shown us this realistically, where as other authors sometimes make him just not himself. My favourite part was where Rin flinched away from Sesshomaru when he tried to reach for her. That was a powerful scene - it spoke volumes!! Please write more! I'll be looking forward for more wonderful one-shots for you. XD - Kazunomiya

Another lovely, detailed work from you. I could just see them!! I must admit I was distressed that our usually unflappable Rin was so unhappy! I do get a sinister kind of thrill when Sesshy is bewildered about something, however. Jaken needs some more rocks thrown at him, or another good swipe with Tensaiga. Mean toady. Thank you for sharing this!!

That was really good. Its hard to find words to describe a piece like this. No fighting, no Monkism, tho thats always entertaining, lol. But a serious piece with an issue in it that had Sesshomaru really perplexed. Nothing he could outright kill, or roll his eyes eyes at, but involving the one person that never asked anything from him. Rin. She was so afraid of being left behind and couldn't even bring herself to ask her Lord. Brings a vivid image to mind where as Jaken gets something he's not looking forward to upon his return, lol. This was a really good piece, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
