Reviewed By: TJG On: January 21, 2007 02:27 CST Comment/Review: If you are looking for ideas, here are some: Consider how much of a bad reputation the replicators have and the factions views on controlling them, hostility, or neutral. Aside from the possible escaped other replicators (depending on whether or not they were all destroyed) there is the bunch called the Asurans is Stargate Atlantis that might view destroying a rival as having a higher priority than the other humans, especially if it turns out that Ranma has strong Ancient heritage. Ranma might take an interest in information sources and hooking up to such networks rather than necessarily conquering them (though hacking and haivng a backdoor and secret ultimate authority control might be done). There are a few Ancient information sources that might be of interest or even attempting to re-construct and repair various Ancient and long forgotten civilizations' ruins to see what could be learned from them. One policy that Ranma might have is not take material that is being used or claimed by innocents and the weak (beyond information), thought that still leaves a lot of other things. You might want to read the webcomic "A Miracle of Science" for an idea of what Ranma type replicators could become in the Mars network mind: http://project-apollo.net/mos/index.html

For raw material, one possibility is to just extract carbon from the atmosphere (such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide) to make carbon-based materials like carbon fiber, diamond and bucky-tubes. Another is to use silica from deserts, sands, and rocks. For space adventures, sending a bunch to Venus to extract all the carbon from the carbon dioxide and similar materials from the gases is a possibility for use in making space ships. If Ranma is ever given the information or encounters such exotic substances as naquida, he might be able to manufacture them out of junk as well. On a more practical level would be to convert a portion of salt in ocean water into other materials such as aluminum.

That and I'm rather curious how your going to handle the replicator's. Will Ranma lose control of them, or will he/she remain as their Master/Mistress... I guess only time will tell. Until then see ya! -AscendedWarrior

I have seen some real stinkers that didn't go anywhere.

Title: Wahoo! Reviewed By: AMWOOD co [MediaMiner Member] On: January 10, 2007 12:05 CST Comment/Review: I've been waiting for a while for someone to put that 3000 years of Amazon culture in its place, namely the same place that every other 3000 year old civilization has gone, in ruins. I don't mind the people (stun blasts are good in this), but get rid of the legacy.

Comment/Review: This is the most original 'different spring' fic I've ever read. Props to you. Now I fear what the Asgard will do to Ranma if the catch her scent.

Comment/Review: An excellent prologue. You might want to explain how the pool was created and what ranma is? Is he an is he huminoid replicater or something else?

Reviewed By: TJG On: December 30, 2006 13:18 CST Comment/Review: Very new crossover that has not been tried yet. Presumably the pool was a sealed one-use-before-destruction pool otherwise there would have been signs of replicators on earth long before this. The pool apparently did not hold Reese otherwise none of the events in Stargate would have taken place, though presumably it could have been either an independent parallel creation of the same ones that made Reese. I wonder what the reaction would be between Ranma and the Asurans would be, probably enemies/competitors on sight. Ranma does appear to have gained the one insight that none of the others did: information and skills are more valuable than raw technology, especially since the things that people throw away has the same raw materials that is pretty much in the most advanced ones. If Ranma ever discovers the Internet and all of the science, technology, martial arts, military, patents, hacker and futurist documents/podcasts/messageboards/archives/on-ine magazines/etc., it would probably be viewed as hitting the "jackpot" as some of them are accumulating new information every day. Might be also like Ranma having the technology from Ghost In The Shell.

Title: chi vayne Reviewed By: Chi Vayne [MediaMiner Member] On: December 29, 2006 16:35 CST Rating(s):Overall Rating: 9 of 10 Comment/Review: Nice crossover. Interesting setup with Ranma not wanting to change back. Nabiki is sure to see the potential profit from Ranma's little friends, but will that be enough to induce her into an engagement. And Kasumi may have a lot more help around the house soon. But given the skills of Ranma's friends (able to take on the entire Amazon village), I shudder to think what will happen to Kuno and Ryoga when they show up.

If Ranma knows everything the drones know, does she already know the amazon techniques? This story has a lot of potential and I really want to see where you're taking this.
