And perfect for the season. I think Carved in Stone was my favorite of the new ones. I just liked Inuyasha's way of saying how he felt. The others were good too, though you really had me going with the ending to Golden Ticket. I thought that it was Kagome confessing her feelings with the kiss and then you go and mention a condom. I couldn't help but laugh. Great job and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. |

I'm so old - but ya know what? I love my eighties music! And my two fav things combined - eighties music and Inuyasha... heaven. Merry Christmas! Amber |

Reviewed By: King Baka [MediaMiner Member] On: November 25, 2010 17:46 PST Comment/Review: “Puppy Love” made me laugh. I was trying to remember whether you had ever commented about the whole calling a baby a “pup” thing with Inuyasha. Personally I think it’s kinda ridiculous, which made the story more comical. The others were kind of an exploration of various clichés, from Inuyasha’s dog language to the mating blood bond. “Free to Live,” was interesting because of Inuyasha’s last line. That only works if he truly sees his relationship with Kikyou as one of responsibility only. Seems plausible to me, near the end. Hopefully Kikyou will let go her attachment to Inuyasha and go on to live the life she always wanted, the life the Shikon no Tama denied her. |
Reviewed By: ananova [MediaMiner Member] On: November 24, 2010 16:59 PST Comment/Review: I loved the new additions. The misunderstanding between Kagome and Inuyasha about her wanting a pup was great. It was a great way for them to learn about each other's feelings and a take I've never seen before. I've seen one or two like Meant to Be before but I liked your version better. And I loved Submission. It was great to see Kagome understand just how important pride and honor is to Inuyasha and just how humiliating it can be when she uses the rosary. I would love to see more with that idea, especially when she decides she needs to show her own submission. Again, I've seen ideas like To Save a Life but I really liked yours. And I loved your take on wishing Kikyou back to life in Free to Love. I really think Inuyasha would choose Kagome but as you showed in Submission, his honor is extremely important to him. Few realize that by bringing Kikyou back he no longer owes her anything. I really enjoyed that chapter but wish we could have seen the others reactions to Inuyasha's declaration. Wonder how Kikyou would have reacted, especially since she had just been demanding that he join her in hell. |

Reviewed By: King Baka [MediaMiner Member] On: September 05, 2010 21:31 PDT Comment/Review: Repeating History - I love this line: "Perhaps, but knowing I would give a foolish answer, how foolish were you to ask the question?" Way to use that ol' noggin, Inu! He's still dense as a rock though. :-) I love to see this kind of post-manga relationship between the brothers. It's not all touchy-feely, but they can talk to each other both seriously and somewhat casually. And they can admit past mistakes when warranted… Drowning Desire - I've seen this scenario before, but this is the first time I've seen it done well. And hooray for getting the damn rosary off! Something tells me Inuyasha won't get out of line much like Miroku does thought, at least in public. Ordinary - Very interesting to see that her duty of protecting the jewel was making Kagome behave like Kikyou. That's probably what got to Inuyasha more than anything, even if he didn't realize it. This is a good alternate ending to the manga; it keeps the central wish, minus the three year absence. PS - I will get to your other story that you just posted, but the length is a little daunting for me right now. That's another reason I love these little shorties!

Reviewed By: ananova [MediaMiner Member] On: September 05, 2010 20:12 PDT Comment/Review: That was a nice heart to heart talk between Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. That's something we rarely see, the topic of outliving the one you love, mostly because we love to have them share their lifespans. And I loved Nudity. I can just see Kagome forgeting about the water and nearly drowing Inuyasha. But were they already together in that one or was it just the heat of the moment that made them kiss? But I absolutely loved Ordinary. That was great how you had Inuyasha be the one to make the "correct" wish because he didn't like what the jewel was forcing Kagome to become. Kikyou couldn't be an ordinary woman because of it, he wasn't going to allow Kagome to suffer the same fate. And I've never seen where they couldn't still travel through the well before purifying the jewel, so that was an interesting idea as well. Great job.

Title: Communication Skills Reviewed By: King Baka [MediaMiner Member] On: September 05, 2010 19:16 PDT Comment/Review: Talk about avoiding disaster at the last possible moment! I like your drabble writing style; it seems like you've found that confining yourself to a word count means you have to shorten everything down and take out all the unnecessary wordage. Now, I'm not saying you should do that on longer stories--I certainly don't--but it's a nice skill to possess. Keep practicing (and posting the results)!
