All right, things are really getting down to business! So they've got little Rin in this one, do they? That certainly will complicate matters. And there are two Narakus? Presumably one will go by Onigumo? *Shudder*...one Naraku is already one too many, LOL. I thought the bar scene was cute with Inuyasha spotting Kagome there and then having fun calling her; I was so not expecting the Shikon no Tama to make an appearance! And now she's trying to make Inuyasha out to be racist? Nice...that's a classic one right there, being racist against a race because you're convinced they are racist against your race, here we go round the mulberry bush, LOL. But he's got a good argument on his side, since he is just as much human as he is demon. Presumably he'll still be inflicted with turning human once a month, that seems to be a standard in all fanfic that nobody undoes that detail about half-demons, but I wonder, if you do plan on keeping that intact, if Kagome knows about it. Inuyasha has grounds for saying he prefers his half-demon self over being human, and the way he phrased that did seem to speak of personal experience on the matter, but that possible personal experience also seemed to go over Kagome's head. I could just see them needing to get together to go over their paperwork again, on the night of the new moon, him refusing to meet with her at first and her not knowing why until suddenly she's the one that shows up out of the blue. Look at me coming up with randomly generated plot twists. But that's because this is such an awesome story! I can't just put it down after the chapter is over and think, 'okay, now I will sit peacefully and wait for the continuation' NO, I can't stop thinking about it because it's so awesome and so my mind just keeps on running all different sorts of scenarios because I just can't wait to see what do you next! I get it though that 'real life' has to come first. Nice pics! XD and you're right on the nail with that comment on stories and their updates. All right, things are really coming along. So Inuyasha is of no relation in this fic, that's actually kinda cool. It makes sense that Sesshoumaru would hire him, even assuming there might be some disdain for half-demons on his side, if he's the best lawyer that also happens to be canine. I'm sure a full-blooded dog demon would rather deal with a half-dog demon than a full-blood of some other species. And Kagura is the one who cheated, with Naraku? That out to get real interesting real quick. So Kagome's a miko, is she? I guess that can partially excuse the prejudice if she's a natural-born enemy to demon kind, a relic bloodline from the days before they learned to get along civilly with one another. But yeah, at least the demon court won't chew her up and spit her out if she really can handle herself. This is karma at its finest, sticking her in a whole courtroom full of demons, and this is you at your finest, too, my dear. This story is awesome! Oh wow I'm loving how this is starting out. I'm kind of wondering now why Sesshoumaru and Kagura are having a divorce though and why Inuyasha has a different last name. Good update...certainly Inuyasha is hanyou and Kagome just hasn't realized it yet, not that it'll matter to her since her thoughts were that demons or half-demons were all the same and it didn't matter if they were half human. Yes, Kagome, you have to deal with three of them, karma's a bitch, ain't it? But apparently that was one hell of a blank check so I'm sure she can manage! And what's with the different last name? Is Inuyasha not related to Sesshoumaru in this one, which I've seen on rare occasion in other AUs though only in yaoi settings, or perhaps does he just have a different last name from taking his mother's name and trying to disassociate from being Sesshoumaru's brother? Wow! And here I thought the divorce lawyer setting was going to be unique enough in and of itself, but I don't think I've ever read a story where Kagome was racist against demons. Maybe, maybe in a 'Feudal Era AU' I've seen her wary of demons at first, just like everyone else in that time period, but then ultimately she has a kind heart and can see the good in them that others don't. I've definitely never seen a modern-day setting where youkai are essentially people intermingled into society with Kagome being racist against them. Good job in the unique department, baby! Now I'm wondering...is Kagura divorcing Naraku? Are Kagome and Miroku going to end up on opposite sides? But then where does Inuyasha come in? I could see Inuyasha and Kikyou divorcing, but it would be unprofessional for Kagome to hook up with him that way, and even though that has certainly not always stopped people before, with her prestanding viewpoint she would almost inevitably be on Kikyou's side and therefore not fall for him in the first place. Is Kagura perhaps divorcing Sesshoumaru? Then she would be meeting Inuyasha at some point as a third party. Oh! This is just too exciting! Any way you have it planned is just fine with me, whether Inuyasha enters the picture as a third party or a client. I could actually favor it with him as a client if Kikyou were made an oober bitch, and so as Kagome reads up on it she starts to feel sorry for him, realizing that just because Kikyou is the human doesn't automatically make her the victim and in the right.
