That's more than likely a good idea, considering the fact that I did most of my editing about five-six years ago, late at night. As it is, I did clean-up a lot of errors, despite the many that are left, as well as (at least in another work of Jim's) point out a few plot-holes. It's been literally years since Jim has written a new chapter for this series, though he's still sporadically active (mostly working on Nabiki 1/2); I suppose one day I'll revisit this (and the other works for that matter) and recheck them.

Shiva, I know you are supposed to be the "proofreader" but you REALLY need to go over this work once again. I am running across tons of mistakes. Mainly of the misplaced word variety like "soured" instead of "showered" i.e. using a word processor spell check then not actually going over it looking for mistakes. There are other problems with grammar as well scattered throughout the story. If you are going to claim being an editor for a work this big you should be ready to do it right. Right now it is a pretty hollow claim...Sorry, but it is true.

This story is thought provoking. While the actual Ranma anime is only moderately interesting to me, since it is so episodic, I find the Ranma fanfics, esp the longer ones very interesting. OOC in Ranma fanfic is a good thing, because the original characters aren't very deep or smart, so fanfic authors often fill them out more fully. I like what was done with this story: changing Ranma's engagement right at the beginning to Nabiki. Then the author does something more clever, writing journal entries so the reader can get into the heads and motivations of the most secret of Ranma characters, Nabiki The Mercenary. She evolves from a greedy and detached exploiter into a more adult woman. Yes, the story is very long but I wish it had come to a proper conclusion. Its good enough to be worth downloading to one's hardrive for offline reading (I put 12 chapters on my PDA). I also enjoyed the focus on the characters feelings and emotions as they changed in the face of their love and respect for each other. Its a very adult story that way, something the anime itself never tried to do. If it had a satisfying ending I would give it a 10.

I really enjoyed this story and I can't wait for the rest. I love how every change to the original story makes a lot of sense.

Hey, just checking in to see how the fics doing, and I see that it's hit over 40,000. Anyway, as a slight update, Jim (the author) has mainly been busy writing new chapters to Nabiki 1/2, so that's why there haven't been any new chapters for ATOTW. And as for why I haven't put up these new Nabiki 1/2 chapters...well, they take place after the crossover that's he's writing, and I'm evil, so I'm not going to upload the chapters until he finishes the crossover stories. But don't worry, for those of you who read Nabiki 1/2, he's got one hell of a story lined up for you. Shiva out.

You are flat out amazing. I have never come across such a prolific and marvelous fanfiction writer. Are you the author of Nabiki 1/2 as well then? It took me three solid nights to get through this fic up to the most current chapter, and it was well worth it. I look forward to future updates, as well as seeing how things pan out for the characters.

I'd like to personally thank root for his upgrades to MediaMiner, specifically the ones surrounding the chapter limit and how visits are counted. Thanks to the upgrades the later chapters are actually numbered, rather than just being another epilogue, and this story shot up from 6th to 2nd in the Ranma fanfic category, and from 30th to 11th overrall. Nearly 25,000 visits!

Ahh, it's taken a long time, but I've finally usurped Playboy Moon and taken 6th in the Ranma fanfic category. Of course, Payback will probably push me back down to 7 in a month or so, but at least I'll have made it that far.
