Chapter 8 'Death & Destruction'

When Kari had given the news about her pregnancy the same thing happened that had happened at her party. This time Amy dropped a book on Mina's head, Serena spat pop over Darien, he spat pop on the floor, Amara & Trista almost choked on their tea, & Michelle dropped a cup of ice on herself. Lita & Hotaru where the only ones who went unharmed.

"How could you be having a baby you just got married a half a month ago!?" Lita was shocked needless to say jealous as well.

Amara, Trista, & Hotaru smirked evilly at Kari

"I know, but it just happened. I have no problem with it."

“Oh you know what this means?!” Trista smiled

“What Trista-san?”

“Kari you're, shall we say grown up now?” Amara had the same evil smirk.

“Um I am grown up, what-”

“Before all of us you're so fast” Hotaru interrupted Kari.

“Should we embarrass her in front of Darien?” Trista asked.

“What are you talking about Trista?!” Kari got nervous. She hoped they weren't going to have `this' particular talk with her again.

“You're pregnant which means-“

"Ooo...can I name the baby this time?" asked Mina completely cutting off Amara.

"Are you crazy? I'm going to name my child." Kari replied trying to avoid this conversation immediately.

"There's no way you're naming my godgrandaughter Mina!" piped up

Serena who hadn't been paying attention anyways.

"So it's not your child Serena it's Kari's!" Mina stuck her tongue out at Serena.

"Ooo...you!" Serena steamed.

"So how far along are you"? Hotaru asked curiously forgetting about her thoughts a second ago.

"I think I'm two to three months & a halve."

"Wow..your still so skinny" said Michelle. She had also forgotten the previous conversation.

Kari just smiled sweetly at her.

"Perfect she saved us the trouble of finding a worthy mate" said the bearded man.

"Li-sama we can execute the plan now can't we"? the man named Hiroki asked.

"Yes infact we can. The negaverse has quieted down a little. This is the perfect time" replied the man with brown hair streaking down his back.

"I want him dead & her here within the next few days. Kaisuki will be the first to impregnate her after she delivers the baby she's carrying, then whoever wants to go next can understand?!"

"Yes master you won't be disappointed" the two men disappeared.

Kari slept peacefully in Yue's arms. But Yue couldn't sleep at all. He kept having this weird feeling something wasn't right.

He got up out of bed & headed downstairs when he noticed a light on in the library `who could be up this time of night'? Yue thought.

When he peaked in there in one of the chairs sat Clow Reed staring into space.

Yue went in quietly as to not disturb him, but Clow turned his head & smiled sweetly.

"I'm sorry master did I disturb you"?

Clow shook his head "no not at all, but I guess you couldn't sleep either?"

"No I could not. I kept getting a strange feeling something's not right."

"I did too. I felt something was going to happen & wanted to stay up incase Kari needed me. She's come a long way. I'm so proud of her."

“Yeah I never thought she would think of me as a lover after she forgot about that priest guy, now I'm married to her the woman I've always loved.”

“Yue, promise me you'll take care of her & her baby when I'm gone.” Clow didn't look him in the eyes & Yue felt something was definitely wrong.

Suddenly a loud crash came from upstairs. "What was that?!" Yue turned around running for the stairs.

"It sounded like it came from Kari's room!"

Yue & Clow ran upstairs to find Kari's door locked they banged & pushed to get it open, but it wouldn't move.

"Kari, Kari are you okay? Answer me Kari...!” Yue screamed as he pounded on the door.

Kero came running down the hall "What's going on, I heard a crash!"

"Step back!" Clow demanded. He took out the sealing key, & the fiery card, & yelled "fire open the door!"

A huge burst of fire burned the door off the seal & Yue kicked it in.

The room was empty & her balcony window was broken. "Where is she?!" Yue searched around frantically for his wife when suddenly screams came from out side the window.

The three ran to the balcony to see a man holding Kari by her hair pulling her. She screamed again "let me go right now!" "& if I don't!?" the man replied "my father will have your head!" Kari spat back.

The man laughed in pure enthusiasm "your father is probably already dead!" the man said in a cold revengeful voice Kari screamed again.

“You know, you are really gorgeous with that big chest of yours. I can't wait to see the rest of you!” Hiroki grabbed the opening in Kari's top & began to pull it away exposing her right breast.

“Stop it, Yue!” Kari screamed her powers flaring around her.

Yue & Kero came at the man demanding release of the girl.

“Damn!”

Clow had to take the stairs & as he did another man appeared before him.

"Well well if it isn't Clow Reed the most powerful sorcerer in the world!?" The man said in a menacing voice that sent shivers up his spine.

"Who sent you here, the Li-clan?!" said Clow.

"You really do know everything" he simply said.

“You can never tame Kari's powers or control the cards. Even if you kill me your problems won't be solved!”

“You're right; I `can' kill you.”

He pulled a knife out of his coat & ran at Clow. With little time to react Clow stopped his onslaught with pure manly strength. They struggled for what seemed like forever.

“Give up Clow, we won you'll never have the power to beat us!”

“Never, I'll never just hand my only child over to you, even in death!”

The man smirked then quickly pulled his arms away & drew a gun. He shot him then he ran away.

A man came running past the bewildered guardians with the book of Clow cards in his hands & said "he's dead, now let's get her & go!" he said to the other man.

Hiroki slashed his sword one last time & caught Yue off guard he tumbled to the ground "Yue!" Kero ran over to him.

The guy heaved Kari up over his shoulders & ran away.

"Yue, Kero-chan!" Kari shouted. She saw Yue on the ground & knew she must help herself she kicked the man who was holding her in the shins & ran.

The two men had no chance to run after her as Yue & Kero were right in front of them throwing blasts of energy.

Once far enough Kari held the key around her neck & recited the spell to release its powers.
"Key of my father Clow, key of magic, key of light, surrender your true form to me the force ignite `REALESE'!”

The key turned into a staff & she held out her hands. She had noticed the man run out with her father's book "book of my father Clow come to my hand. I call upon your power help me!"

In a flash of light the book appeared before her. The brown haired man that was holding the red book noticed it leave.

"Hiroki the book, it's gone!"

"What I thought you had it?!"

"well I did, then it vanished right before my eyes!"

Hiroki took one side swipe & Yue exhausted fell to the ground

"We'll find it later, but first" he walked over to Yue & stood over him with his sword up high ready to pierce Yue in the heart.

Suddenly a blue & red form crashed into him sending him flying into a tree 1 foot away. Kari emerged out of the bushes.

The brown haired man ran to her intending to punch her when someone grabbed his fist

"Pick on someone your own size!" a feminine voice called out. She threw him backwards on the ground next to Hiroki.

“Trying to hit a lady is very rude!” another feminine voice said

Yue got up & stood before Kari "are you all right Kari?!"

"Water Fire return!" the two spirits returned to their card forms. Then she finally replied "yes I'm ok" she turned to face her sandy haired rescuer.

"That was a close call, good thing we got here when we did" it was the sailor scout's.

"Who are you? Kero asked & a girl with blond hair replied

"Don't you recognize us Kero-chan we're the princesses" she gave a smile & he finally recognized her.

"Princess Mina what are you doing here?!"

"We came because Kari called us telepathically" the girl with short brow hair said.

"& you are"? Yue asked

"It's me, Amara I look different with the sailor scout outfit".

Yue smirked “sure do, like a girl for once!”

Trista (Sailor Pluto), Hotaru (Saturn), Rei (Mars), & Michelle (Neptune) snickered.

“Shut up Yue-chan!” Amara balled up her fist to him.

"Well enough talking, what about those two? Who are they?" the brunette of the bunch asked.

"They attacked us” Kari looked at them & continued “I don't know what they want, but they tried to take me away & steal the cards!"

Kari moved closer to Yue & held the book tight.

"Whatever they want we have to make sure they don't get away!" Sailor Mercury piped up.

Just as Uranus & Jupiter walked up to them Hiroki jumped up & blasted Uranus with his sword. (remember Li has a magic sword thinga majig too)

Jupiter fell from the impact of Uranus on her & Hiroki grabbed his partner & ran.

"Venus, crescent beam 'SMASH'!” Mina shouted out, but the attack missed & they where gone.

Kari came to a sudden realization "Yue, Kero where is my dad? I thought I heard a gun shot before that man came running out of the house!" she said worried.

"He took the stairs, but I never saw him come out of the house!"

"Let's go check on him then!" Kari raced back to the house with the sailor's & guardians in close pursuit.

When she entered & ran to where the stairs were she nearly fainted in shock. Her father was laying on his back bleeding to death "Papa!" she cried out as she ran to him.

"Papa wake up, please wake up!"

"Master Clow?!" Yue bent down next to Clow.

Clow opened his eyes & looked Kari straight in her red ones "Kari are you alright honey?" he barely spoke above a whisper.

"Y-yes are you?!" Kari cradled his head in her arms.

"Listen carefully. I am destined to die here.”

"No your not don't say such things!" Kari said

"I dreamt I would die. I've seen the future as I'm sure you have as well. Please don't be upset you have Yue & Kero to take care of. You don't need me anymore your a very independent girl, I have lived out my purpose & now I must leave."

"No papa I need you more than anything please don't leave me!" Kari's eyes where filled with tears.

"Sweet heart promise me you'll take care of the cards, Kero, & Yue. You are their new master."

"I don't want control, they're your cards & your going to live!"

"Sorry sweetie, but you can't change fate. I'm not going to live, but make sure you teach your daughter to use the cards so you can pass the family power on to her."

"How did you-?!"

Clow cut her off "My dreams, give her a name for me, & take this she'll need it in the future." Clow handed Kari his key "take it for her."

"Master please" Yue had tears running down his face as well.

"Yue don't worry you'll have a good future I'm sure. Take care of yourselves". Clow closed his eyes & his head fell to the side.

"Daddy, don't go, Daddy......!" Kari screamed. Clow was gone ripped from her heart & there was nothing she could do.
