Vegeta didn't know what possessed him to kiss the other Saiyan again after being kissed the first time; something about it felt right at the time. The was no logical explanation in the prince's mind for the sudden change in his relationship with Goku over the past few days, but one thing was starting to become apparent to him. At first the older Saiyan thought that he was merely getting closer to Goku as a way to blur the memories and hurt of his loss, and that he was simply trying to replace Bulma. This was not the case. The feeling between the two Saiyans was something different than what Vegeta had shared with the blue-haired woman over the years. This connection was something that had always been there, but when it developed further, it ultimately led to where the two Saiyans were now.
“Vegeta…” said Goku in a bit of shock.
“Hm?” was all the prince said.
“You're blushing,” said the younger Saiyan with a hint of amusement.
The Saiyan prince looked away quickly. He didn't realize he had been blushing at all. Vegeta shifted himself off of Goku, who followed suit and the two came to be sitting beside each other on the couch. The older Saiyan was looking away, scratching his head nervously.
“Vegeta, you don't have to look away from me.”
Goku turned the other Saiyan toward him and caressed him on the cheek. The younger Saiyan couldn't think of any words to say; he just looked into Vegeta's eyes peacefully. He wanted the prince to know that he would never leave him again, and also how much he cared about him. Goku leaned in and kissed Vegeta on the lips once more. Then, the younger Saiyan's stomach growled loudly.
“Oh, sounds like my stomach wants food! Can we eat?”
Vegeta rolled his eyes at the other Saiyan and his typical behavior. The two Saiyans proceeded to eat. They spent the day lazily, mostly just cuddling on the couch and napping. They ended up in the prince's bedroom around sunset. Vegeta went out on the balcony and looked around the peaceful grounds of Capsule Corporation, Goku standing next to him. They were silent for a while, but soon the younger Saiyan felt a need to break the silence between them.
“Vegeta?” said Goku, and getting no response after several moments continued, “Are you okay?”
“I don't know. It's just…kind of boring, don't you think? I mean laying around all day. Everything used to be so exciting, and dangerous…Why doesn't anything bad happen anymore?” Vegeta sighed deeply.
“I know what you mean, but you can't let that get you down, you know?”
Goku hugged the other Saiyan from behind and started kissing him on the neck. The older Saiyan closed his eyes and savored the moment of affection. Little did they know, someone was watching them from a distance. This person did not look happy, either.
A phone rang. It was answered with a simple hello by none other than the eldest of Goku's children, who was greeted by Trunks. When Gohan heard what had conspired, he knew that something had to be done immediately. What the two full Saiyans were doing was not only disrespectful to their deceased wives, but was also just wrong in general. The two half Saiyans were going to have to break them apart somehow, no matter the cost.
It was early in the morning, and someone was ever so rudely knocking on Vegeta's bedroom door. He woke from the ruckus, but he did not want to get out of Kakarot's arms to open the door. He especially didn't want to have whoever it was on his case like the other day. That was really very annoying. The prince would just have to make whoever it was leave, wouldn't he?
“Go away. I'm trying to sleep,” said Vegeta rather rudely.
“Father, it's Trunks! Please let me talk to you…”
Vegeta huffed, annoyed as ever now. Goku was also beginning to stir as well. The half-asleep Saiyan wrapped his arms tightly around prince and started kissing him on the lips. The older Saiyan pushed him away quickly, fearing Trunks may become impatient and open the door on them. He really didn't want his son to know that Kakarot was in here with him, though he supposed the demi Saiyan already suspected that anyways.
“Grr. Kakarot, wake up and go to the bathroom or something and stop trying to grope me,” whispered the prince in the other Saiyan's ear, immediately pushing him off the bed and forcing him into the bathroom.
Vegeta got up and opened the door to his bedroom, coming face to face with Trunks. The prince looked rather annoyed at having been disturbed.
“Well, what is it?” asked Vegeta impatiently.
“Is Goku here?”
“Who wants to know?” spoke the prince defensively.
“Gohan. He wants Goku to come back home.”
“Why would I care what he wants?”
“Is he in there or not? Just tell me that.” Trunks voice was growing impatient.
“Maybe…”
Trunks huffed, “Well, obviously I'm getting nowhere this way. I'll just talk to you. You two are getting awfully close. In fact, I know what Goku said to Gohan the other day. He said you two were just friends; I know that isn't true, is it? I saw you out on the balcony yesterday,” Vegeta tried to open his mouth to object but his son did not give him the chance, “You can't deny it, so don't try. Just hear me out. I don't want your feelings to be hurt by him, so I am going to tell you what he said to me that day you left. He told me he was only here with you because he felt like it was something he had to do for Bulma. Goku doesn't care about you, father, don't you see? He's just playing a game with you, seeing how happy he can make you feel by messing with your head, and then he's going to leave one day and break your heart again. You'd better distance yourself from him while you still can…”
Vegeta didn't know what to make of what his son's words. How could this be true? Should he believe his son? This made things a bit complicated between the two Saiyans. No matter what Trunks had just told him, the prince knew it wouldn't be fair to get mad without first asking Goku for an explanation. Besides, it did seem a bit suspicious of Vegeta's son to suddenly want the cheerful Saiyan to leave, like he was doing something awful and should be condemned. Could it be that seeing the two older Saiyans together has angered him, and he wants to tear them apart out of resentment? The prince didn't know what to think yet, but he would get to the bottom of this.
“I will take your comments into consideration, son. Now, leave. We can talk more about it later.” Vegeta closed the door on Trunks after his brief response, and it did not seem his son objected, so the prince turned and proceeded to the bathroom door.
Goku was let out of the bathroom by the older Saiyan, and he was very gleeful. The younger Saiyan exclaimed the prince's name, and hugged him tightly, as if he hadn't seen him in a really long time and was drawn to him like a magnet. Vegeta growled at the overwhelming bear hug, and pushed the cheerful Saiyan back.
“We have to talk about something, Kakarot,” said Vegeta on a more serious note.
“What is it?” responded the younger Saiyan, oblivious.
“Trunks told me he heard from you that you don't really want to be here and that you don't care about me. What is the truth?” The prince made his questioning short and simple.
“Vegeta…That isn't true. I do care about you, and there's no where else I'd rather be.” Goku spoke with a serious and sincere tone.
The prince thought for a moment. Should he trust Goku or his son? Trunks did seem a bit irrational as of late, but Goku seemed to be very heartfelt and sincere. After all the other Saiyan had done for him, why should he cast him aside now?
“Vegeta? Please believe me…I'm not the one who said that, Trunks is. He's just trying to make you think I said that…”
“It's okay, Kakarot. I believe you.”
The two Saiyans went about their day as if Trunks hadn't spoken to them. Neither of them was sure what to make of Trunks' want for the two of them to be apart, but he was fighting a losing battle. At least that is what Vegeta and Kakarot thought. The son of Vegeta was determined to make sure those two were not in this unacceptable relationship anymore.
Later that day, not to Vegeta's surprise considering the events earlier, there was a knock on the front door. Chances were it was either Gohan or Trunks coming to bother their fathers again. Honestly, what did one have to do to get privacy? The prince didn't know about Goku, but he was really getting annoyed with the both of them. The door was answered after the younger Saiyan pestered Vegeta to answer it. It was Gohan. Great, just what the Saiyan prince wanted.
“Yes? How can't I help you?”
“Vegeta, I want to talk to my father.” Gohan spoke sternly, like he would get this request even if by force.
“Why should I let you?” said Vegeta in a provoking voice.
Goku stepped in at the moment, before things could get bad between the two.
“Vegeta…it's ok. Can you go inside while I talk to Gohan?”
The prince reluctantly went inside despite the ominous feeling rising up in his body. The son of Goku was up to no good. The older Saiyan waited inside, looking out the window at the two as they walked away, though they were still in sight. Vegeta was getting antsy. They'd been talking for about five minutes, and Gohan didn't look happy. He couldn't see Goku's face, so he didn't know if he was unhappy looking or not. This was stupid. Why couldn't the prince hear what they were talking about too? Well, he was going to, he decided as he opened the door and stepped out. Goku was yelling at Gohan.
“I don't care about him at all, I'm just here because I feel obligated, I can't WAIT to go back home!”
Vegeta heard just that bit, but that was all it took. He'd only taken one step, but that was all he needed. He turned around and went back inside, locking the door this time. What was this…sinking feeling? It felt like dying inside. The prince took a few steps, then his knees buckled and he fell to the ground. His eyes were wet. Why should he care what that Kakarot said in the first place? It didn't bother him that much, did it? Well, he had lied and used him and everything else in the “what not to do to someone you are supposed to care about guidebook”, if there were one. Vegeta heard the door knob as it was turned, but didn't come open. Yeah, because it was locked. That means stay away, Kakarot, you traitor.
“Vegeta? Why is the door locked? Please let me in!”
“Go. The. Hell. Away. Now.” Vegeta spoke to short choppy segments, his voice fuming with anger.
The younger Saiyan put two fingers to his head, and appeared inside. Vegeta got up off the floor quickly and walked away from Goku. The first place he walked was the kitchen because he wasn't thinking; he'd meant to go upstairs. The younger Saiyan, like the idiot he was, followed.
“Can't you hear? Leave me alone!” yelled Vegeta.
“What? Why are you saying that?” Goku was beginning to get scared.
“Don't play dumb with me! You lied to me, and took advantage of me! I don't want you hear anymore! Go back to your house, I know you'd rather be there than here anyways!”
Goku took a step towards Vegeta. The prince growled.
“Leave! Before I kill you!” Vegeta was fuming, and to make his point clear he swiped his hand across the kitchen counter, and knocked whatever was on it off to make a crashing sound on the tile floor.
Torn and heartbroken, the younger Saiyan left the prince to himself. On his flight home, he could barely see from all the tears rolling down his face and flooding his eyes. How could this have happened? What could he have done wrong? These were the only thoughts roaming through his head and he went through the door of the place he once called home, which was now very quiet, and fell down on his bed to cry himself to sleep.
A/N: Yes, that's it! I have completed it. I know, I have left you all with an evil end to this chapter. I am evil, sometimes. But do not worry I will hurry to update I hope! See ya!
