Trial By Fire
Chapter 8

The couple slept peacefully in Ryo's king-sized bed; Ryo nestled up against Dee, held by the dark haired man, who slept with a slight smile on his face. They had fallen asleep five hours ago. The alarm was set not to go off for another two hours.

Suddenly the silence was shattered by the phone ringing, along with two cell phones going off. Both men jumped up in confusion, looking around.

Ryo reached out for his home phone, while Dee located his cell phone on the windowsill. “Hello, MacLean residence,” Ryo said, half awake. “Oh Commissioner,” he greeted, sitting up more and running a hand through his bed head hair.

Dee looked over at Ryo in question as he answered his cell. “Laytner speaking. Diana? What's up?”

Ryo shook his head, while Dee turned pale as Diana explained the reason for the call. Ryo hung up the phone, still writing notes in the notepad he kept on the bedside table, then turned to Dee who was still on the phone. Dee seemed to have lost most of his color, his eyes vacant as he nodded his head. He trembled as he swallowed hard. “I understand, Diana. We'll be there right away,” Dee spoke quietly.

Ryo placed an arm around Dee and pulled him close. “Rose said they found a body on pier 46 off Perry Street. He believes it's linked to our case.” When Dee merely nodded, he asked, “What did Diana have to say?”

Dee took a deep breath and leaned against Ryo. “A body was found. Pier 46.” He looked up at Ryo. “A boy. About 17 years old.”

Ryo closed his eyes. “It can't be,” he whispered, hopeful for Dee's sake. “C'mon,” he urged Dee gently. “We need to get to the scene.”

Dee nodded again. “Yeah. The same one or not, a kid died on our shift.” Dee seemed to shake off the helplessness that gripped him for a moment as his olive coloring returned. He got out of the bed, the fires that drove him in doing his job burning brightly. “We need to get to the bottom of this, and soon.”

-- -- --

Diana met them as they arrived on the pier. Both wore sunglasses. Dee had slicked his hair back and wore a dark suit and tie. Ryo's suit was gray with a darker gray tie, and he had styled his hair differently than the loose carefree look of his alter-ego. Both wore crisp white linen shirts. When looking at both men, it was hard to associate them with the two young studs who wandered the Village the night before. Both carried themselves as professionals as they got out of the cab near the pier and briskly walked to meet up with the FBI Agent.

“Where's the kid?” Dee asked as soon as she guided them to the other side of the police tape marking off the crime scene.

“Right this way. Dee, I don't want this to be the same kid, but….”

Dee shut his eyes under his dark shades and shook his head. “Just let me see him.”

Ryo walked at his side as Diana led them to the body. Other cops moved about doing their job and stepped aside to allow the two detectives to pass. Dee stopped before the body and glanced down at the face. He nodded. “That's him,” he stated flatly.

Ryo let out a muttered curse as his eyes went from the body to Dee. “Dee, I'm sorry.”

Dee shook his head. “No. You were right last night. We do have a job to do.” His voice was still flat. “We have to find the bastard who did this.”

“We have a lead at least,” Ryo stated, looking back to the boy with golden blond curls, and cornflower blue eyes that stared out at nothing in terror. Zombie eyes was the term used among the police. Ryo never liked using that term, but as he watched his partner get caught in the lifeless stare, softly making a promise to the dead boy to find his killer, the term seemed to apply more than ever to Ryo.

“Who's the First Officer?” Dee demanded, asking about the uniformed cop who was the first on the scene.

“Right here, detective,” one of the other uniformed cops replied, pointing to a man coming up to them. “This is Sam Morrow.”

Dee nodded his head. “Dee Laytner.” He looked up at the cop and managed a small smile. “I thought you were working night shift last night.”

“Night shift, day shift. It all tumbles together with the budget cuts.” He looked at Dee. “Do I know you from somewhere?”

“Oh no,” Ryo said softly, going to stand next to Dee. “I'm Detective Randy MacLean. Officer Morrow, I heard you say?”

“That's correct. You look familiar too.”

“Detectives Laytner and MacLean are working on a case involving similar killings,” Diana explained.

Morrow nodded his head. “Yeah, I heard about those killings. Someone wanting to get rid of fags around the country, huh? I thought the FBI was stepping in?”

Diana nodded. “We are. Agent Diana Spacey. These two fine detectives are working with me on this case.”

Dee frowned. He was not sure how to take the inflection when Morrow said the word `fags'. “Officer Morrow, a few questions please. Then you can be on your way. CSU should be here by then and we'll take it from there.”

“Of course, Detective Laytner.”

Dee turned to Ryo, who took a step forward, his notebook out. He asked questions pertaining to how the body was found, around what time he arrived and the usual standard questions that they could have answers for later if they waited for the report to be filed. Both detectives thought of other questions to ask the patrolman.

When Ryo turned to Diana to ask if there was anything she wanted to add, she shook her head. They were thorough and did their jobs well, which was why Diana always thought of them first. She was not needed there, but stayed for moral support, mainly for Dee. He had Ryo, but she could not leave Dee yet. There was something about him that she just could not put her finger on. Whatever Dee was feeling from the boy's death, he was not showing it, other than a desire to find out why and see that the murderer was found and brought to justice. Dee was professional through the entire questioning, if just a little cold. Maybe too professional for Dee. That concerned her. She would have felt better if some of the arrogance or fire that defined his personality would show. However, he was doing his job and doing it well, along with Ryo. Diana stood back and let them do what they did best.

“Thank you, Morrow,” Ryo replied pleasantly. “I have no further questions.” He gazed at Dee.

“I do, if you don't mind,” Dee asked. “You were working the night shift last night?”

“That's correct. 4pm to midnight.”

“And back on duty by 8 am?” Dee asked. “Commendable.” He barely restrained the sarcasm.

Morrow caught it anyway. “I'm covering for a co-worker who had to go on family emergency late last night. We're short staffed. I offered to cover this morning for a half shift, while another who had today will cover the other half.”

Dee nodded his head as Ryo took notes. Dee cleared his throat. “Where were you at 11:30 last night?”

“You don't think that I….?” Morrow looked insulted.

Dee held out his hand. “Nothing of the sort, but I just have a few questions pertaining to our case. I'm hoping you saw some things or might have some insight to help us find the killer.”

“11:30, huh? I was making my last round before heading back to the station. I believe I was around West Street and Christopher. Yeah, I was exactly there. I remember that couple groping against the wall.”

Ryo ducked his head as he pretended to take more notes than he was.

“That couple charged ahead of you and went up Christopher,” Dee stated bluntly. “Did you feel like you were being followed after that?”

“Are you talking about the F-Boys?” Morrow asked Dee.

Ryo raised his head in interest. “What can you tell us about them?”

“Are they suspects?” the uniformed cop inquired.

Dee shrugged. “I don't know. But I might be able to determine for certain if I can know more about them. You see, that couple was convinced those guys had targeted them. For what, I can't tell you, but it didn't feel like anything good.”

Morrow studied Dee, then his eyes shot over to Ryo. Dee took off his shades, making sure his back was to the street.

“You were working undercover last night,” he blurted out to Dee and Ryo.

“With our hands and feet as our only weapons. You might figure us out eventually if that's your normal beat,” Ryo replied.

“It is. It's possible they were following you. They say they hate queers, but I suspect they like to grab a pretty boy or two and rough `em up.”

Dee caught the entire meaning of roughing up. He noticed Ryo did not.

“They went as far as Weehawken Street,” the patrolman added.

“Just that short block up then, huh? Are they around regularly?” Dee asked.

“Yeah. Problem is, I suspect them for doing wrong, but they haven't been caught red-handed. For all I know, they could have gotten this poor kid,” Morrow supplied.

Dee shook his head. “No. Not this one. At least not to directly connect them. I take it you won't be working tonight?”

“Tomorrow.”

“Fine. If you see us as that young couple again, don't acknowledge you know us,” Dee warned. “But if you notice something you think we might need to know, come up with something so you can talk to us.”

“Of course. If you keep latching onto each other like you do, it'll be easy to approach you and pass on any info.” He chuckled as he looked at Ryo. “You know, for a randy fella at night, you sure can blush.”

Diana and Dee laughed. “That's his name,” Diana reminded. “Randy MacLean.”

“Shut up, Diana,” Ryo snapped at her, while Dee laughed harder. He stopped abruptly when Ryo flashed him a hard look.

“If there's anything else you want to talk to me about, I'm at the 6th precinct.”

“Thank you.” Dee stated, trying to control his chuckles, grateful for the humor break. He did not know how much he needed it until it happened. He started to feel a lot better.

“Yes,” Ryo added. “You've been most helpful.” It was obviously a dismissal, and they watched Morrow walk away. He looked over to Dee, who stood in thought.

“A hunch?” Ryo asked.

“Well, we both have a good description of who we at least believe was the last person to be with the victim.” Dee winced as he said victim. “But I'm also getting a feeling about those F-Boys.”

“I'm with you on that,” Ryo agreed. “So what do you say we tie things up here?”

“Sounds like a plan.”

They ended up staying until the Medical Examiner (ME) arrived. Dee was sitting near the body with Ryo standing behind him when the ME showed up. They followed the body to the wagon, then watched the vehicle pull away. Ryo touched Dee's arm. “You okay?”

“As long as I keep believing we did the right thing,” Dee replied, “and we bring his killer to justice.” He took Ryo by his arm and went over to Diana. “Diana, we're going back now to get our clothes together and grab some dinner. We'll see you at 7.”

“Dee?” Diana asked softly.

Dee turned from walking away. “What?”

“Can I speak to you alone for a few minutes?” she asked, going up to Dee.

Dee's eyes went back to where the boy was found. “Is it about him?” he asked.

“That's what I want to know,” she said, taking him by his arm and leading him away from Ryo and up the pier.

“I'm still alive,” Dee replied tightly. “And I can handle this case.” Dee stopped and faced Diana, giving her a small smile. “It might even help me to finally put something I should have dealt with a long time ago in the past where it belongs. Now that I'm committed to this case, I can't turn my back on it until we find who's behind it and see they get what they deserve.”

“I just don't want to see that as a bullet between the eyes.”

“Up the ass would be more like it.” Dee laughed weakly. “No. Bad joke.” He held his hands up in defense. “I won't pull another stupid stunt that Ryo and I seem to have a reputation for. I promise. What happened was a different crime, different people. Just the same slime ball type. I just need to close this case. And do it properly.”

“Dee, from what I'm sensing, if you close this case without pulling a stupid stunt, I am willing to venture you'll be past whatever it was.”

Dee smiled at her. “I was afraid to take on the case because of it. I can admit that now. But I still can't go around acting like I'm interested in others.”

“I know. I give both you and Ryo full permission to operate on your discretion for the best way to handle it.”

“Thanks, Diana. Can we head back now?”

She laughed and patted his arm. “Sure. You can go home to play, you rabbit. Go on and take the rest of your free time. We won't have much more to go on until we get the lab reports back anyway.”

She walked Dee back to Ryo and handed him over. “Here, he's your nightmare. Have fun with him.” She winked at them. “Want a ride?”

“Please,” Ryo stated. “I was getting a little worried when I realized we'll have to stand on West Street trying to hail down a cab on the same turf I'm supposed to walking undercover.”

“I thought of that too. C'mon, you rabbits.”

In comfortable companionship, the three went over to Diana's rented car.

--- --- ---

When they returned from the scene, Dee seemed withdrawn. Ryo would have been concerned, except Dee's way of withdrawing was being silent in thought while leaning against Ryo as they went through case files together. As they went through the files from the other teams, once in a while Dee would turn to Ryo, seeking a kiss.

They went through the files and made notes. Dee came out of his silence as they discussed observations from the other teams, tried to find a pattern. Ryo set up a database on his laptop to correlate all the data, but they still drew blanks. They were going to get nowhere else at the moment. And they had time to kill before they had to meet with Diana. Their duffle bags with clothes to wear the following morning were packed and waiting.

Sitting on the couch, Ryo decided they had time for the best way to make Dee feel a little better than he had been in the last half hour. Dee was sitting on the floor, his back against a large fluffy pillow that was propped up against the couch, doodling on a pad. It was obvious he had reached a dead end in his thoughts on the case.

“Not much to go through,” Dee stated about the files.

“No. It's no different than our reports. Just different places, different people. But that could be a good thing. It might set more of a pattern, once we can find the right angle to see it.” He got up from the couch to stretch. Dee showed no indication of noticing as he drew a tree on the edge of the paper he had scratched a few thoughts on and later crossed out. Ryo smiled as he glanced at the paper, noting the difference in the sloppy almost illegible scrawl that Dee called handwriting and the tree that flowed so gracefully as his lover deftly added more detail.

“Just find the little guys who might lead us to the big fish,” Dee said, then sighed, repeating their orders from Diana, “but no arrest. Not by us, anyway.” Dee finally looked up at Ryo, who went to turn off his laptop and put it aside. “You think he'd dare be around tonight?”

Ryo shrugged, setting the closed laptop on the coffee table among the neat piles of folders that he had constantly struggled to maintain. Leave Dee to it and there would be papers and folders haphazardly thrown all over the place. “It's possible. But if we see him, we follow at a discreet distance and call Diana to handle it,” Ryo warned. “Let's hope if we do see him, he picks up someone older. Hopefully legal.”

Dee let out another sigh. “At least we know he's not only into underage boys.”

“No.” Despite his warning to Dee, a plan was forming in Ryo's head as the last statement hit home. He decided not to say anything to Dee unless they saw him again. Until then, Ryo had other plans that he was more than willing to share with his lover.

With a grin, Ryo sat on Dee's lap, straddling him. He placed his arms around Dee's neck and smiled at the instant response. Dee's hungry mouth was already meeting his. The kiss deepened as Ryo ran his hands down Dee's back.

“Somebody is horny,” Dee chuckled as he pulled his head back for air.

“Two somebody's,” Ryo chuckled as one hand moved to sweep down Dee's chest, grinding his hips against the hardness in the other's jeans. “Besides, I figured you need your spirits lifted a little. I know the best way to do that.”

Dee laughed. “You sure do. I'm feeling much better already.”

Dee launched an attack on Ryo's neck, leaving Ryo sighing and softly moaning, while deft fingers opened his shirt. Ryo found himself being moved from Dee's lap onto his back on the floor. Dee used his mouth and fingers along Ryo's body.

“Oh God, Dee,” Ryo moaned, bucking his hips upward as Dee's mouth moved over the fabric of his aching hardness and blew on it. Ryo let out a cry.

Dee licked his lips, deft fingers undoing Ryo's zipper. “I know what you want,” he said as Ryo lifted his hips so Dee could pull off his pants.

Unless they were dressing to go somewhere, both men did not see the need for underwear. Perhaps when Bikky was back home, but not now. Dee's hand hovered over the weeping erection, a leering smile on his face. He looked over at Ryo. “Do you?”

“Yes Dee,” Ryo insisted, arching his hips up. Dee's hands quickly moved away as he bent over, spreading Ryo's legs. Ignoring the throbbing hard-on, he paid attention to Ryo's thighs until Ryo was quivering and crying out, sprinkled with a swear word.

Dee was nuzzling where inner thigh and pelvis connected, his cheek being tickled by the wiry brown hair at the base of Ryo's manhood, working the sensitive flesh at the junction.

“Dee,” Ryo gasped. “Enough! Please….”

“Please what?” Dee asked innocently, looking up at Ryo through heavy lidded eyes that were burning with arousal. “Do you want me to stop?”

Ryo let out a growl as his fingers caught in Dee's wild hair. “No, don't stop, you idiot.”

“Then what?” He raised an eyebrow, prompting Ryo to tell him exactly what he wanted.

Ryo had been quick with initiating lately, but still fell shy when it came to talking dirty. Dee made it his duty to prompt his lover. All it took was the right touch and some encouragement. He found he enjoyed this game; his reward was when Ryo would finally tell him what he wanted to hear.

“Suck me,” Ryo said in a harsh breath as a stray finger from Dee brushed along the hairs. Fingers grabbed Dee's head and guided him to where Ryo wanted Dee's mouth.

“In a hurry much?” Dee chuckled, his warm breath caressing the hard shaft.

Ryo let out a gasp, fingers clenching tighter.

“I love you, Ryo,” Dee said softly, then placed a light kiss on the top of Ryo's pulsating erection. Milky white pre-cum clung to Dee's lips as Ryo let out a low moan. Dee lifted his head to look up at Ryo despite the protesting hands. “Ryo,” Dee stated in a husky tone. “Look at me, baby.”

Ryo's heavy lidded, passion-glazed dark eyes opened to look at Dee. Dee smiled as his full lips parted and his tongue slithered out, lapping up the pre-cum.

Ryo's hands tightened again as his moan got louder.

“You taste so good, Ryo,” Dee sighed. “Sweet. And spicy.”

“Dee….”

“Watch me, love.” Dee lowered his head, his tongue darted out to slide across the slit weeping more pre-cum. His hand wrapped around the turgid shaft as he started to lick the head. “So good,” he sighed. “So beautiful.” His tongue made a circular path around the head. His mouth opened as he grasped the shaft more firmly. “Ryo, my Ryo.” His mouth enveloped the throbbing head as he started to pump the base of Ryo's shaft. Ryo was moaning continuously, his fingers going from running through Dee's dark, thick strands of hair to clenching his head. Dee pulled away from the head. He loved driving his lover crazy like that. It definitely turned Ryo on, bringing out more of the wild side from his normally subdued partner.

Ryo bucked his hips, crying out from the loss. Dee smiled. Ryo was so beautiful. Dee loved seeing Ryo wrapped in the throes of passion, his normal reserve dropping until he was writhing and moaning like a wild animal.

“Dee,” he groaned. “Please.” His hands clenched in Dee's hair again, dark strands wrapped around his long fingers. “Enough. Please.”

Dee moved with a wince as he pulled his head away, straddled Ryo. He was aching so much, his own arousal begging to be free. “You're so hot, baby. You make me so hot.”

One of Ryo's hands reached out to rest on the swollen bulge in faded denim. With his other arm, he reached around Dee's waist, his hand resting on the small of Dee's back, fingers lightly stroking, before applying pressure giving Dee a sign to scoot forward. The hand on Dee's covered erection cupped the pulsating flesh as he idly licked his lips. “You're gonna hurt yourself,” Ryo said, his normally silk voice raspy. “C'mon baby. Let me help a little.”

Ryo's hand left Dee's back so both hands could free Dee's manhood from its prison. Dee leaned back with a moan as Ryo freed him, fingertips lightly stroking him.

Dee smiled as the touch became firm, Ryo's forefinger and thumb making a circle around his begging shaft. Dee threw his head back, letting out a soft cry as Ryo proved to be a quick study; stroking, pumping and pushing Dee to the limit. Beneath him, he felt Ryo's still rock hard erection. A stray finger went across Dee's sac.

Something broke in Dee, something he had held back with Ryo. He was surprised when it happened, because for so long he kept his defenses up, he had forgotten about it, until he felt them drop. He found himself doing the one thing he never thought he'd ever find himself doing again - not in a very long time.

“Wait,” he cried out hoarsely, lifting himself off Ryo enough to pull down his jeans. He had to move off his lover to remove them as Ryo helped him. He straddled Ryo again, but instead of the usual hard shaft against hard shaft, he settled himself so Ryo's cock slid along the cleft of his ass.

Ryo let out a moan at the sensation. Dee found a rocking rhythm to continue the sweet friction of Ryo's hardness gliding along the crease.

It felt good to Dee and he found himself pushing more. He let out a deep moan, reaching to pull Ryo to sit up and their mouths met. Tongues caressed and dueled. Dee's hands strayed along Ryo's back as one of Ryo's hands swept across Dee's shoulders, down his back as his hips also picked up the rhythm. He positioned himself so Ryo's cock was trapped between his lover and his ass. Ryo matched his rhythm as their tongues entwined. One of Ryo's hands went back to fondling Dee's weeping hardness.

“Oh God,” Dee moaned into the kiss. “Ohh… damn….”

Ryo's hands moved across a smooth globe as Dee broke the kiss to attack Ryo's neck.

Ryo was panting now, his tongue lapping at the skin of Dee's shoulder while Dee worked his neck. His hand moved along the luscious backside until his fingers found the puckered bud that his digits had learned to pleasure. He let out a loud moan, then bit down into Dee's shoulder.

Dee let out a cry as he arched back. “Oh shit,” he moaned out. “I'm gonna come, Ryo.”

Ryo shifted his grasp so his thumbnail lightly grazed along the vein, squeezing as he pumped harder. Dee was moaning. It took only a few seconds until Dee stiffened, then trembled as the first waves of orgasm hit him.

“Oh… RYO!” he shouted out as his body convulsed, his semen shooting out onto their bellies, over Ryo's hand.

Ryo found himself grinning. He knew a man as loud and obnoxious as Dee could not be that quiet in bed. All it took was the right touch.

Ryo felt pretty damn proud of himself that he had found the right touch. As Dee leaned forward, spent, Ryo moved his arms to hold his lover as Dee rested his head on Ryo's shoulder, planting soft kisses on the flesh under his lips.

“Shit,” Dee sighed. “That was… it was… incredible.”

Ryo laughed. “I love you, too.”

“Honestly, Ryo. No one makes me feel like you do.”

“I'm glad.” Ryo's confidence surged. As Dee shifted to find Ryo's mouth, Ryo was reminded of his still aching rod and the desire to bring it to completion.

Finding he could no longer hold back, all his restraint left him. What they had just done reminded him of what had been constantly on his mind. To Ryo, it felt like the right time without the hassle of embarrassing talks with Dee. Ryo pushed Dee onto his back, moving to hover above Dee. He knew what he wanted and did not think twice about going for it.

Until he saw Dee look up into his eyes, his partner knowing exactly what was to happen. Dee froze. His green eyes still met Ryo's with an intensity that was typical Dee, but behind it, Ryo caught a glint of fear. Still, Dee did not move, his eyes saying to Ryo that he was not going to stop him.

Ryo stopped himself.

He moved off Dee to reach the coffee table and grab the lube that seemed to have found its place there over the last couple of weeks. It was a habit Ryo knew they had to break before Bikky returned from camp.

Dee remained frozen, willing himself not to panic, not to jump up and run out of the room. He had to admit he wanted it, but the excitement of his Ryo taking him was a low hum against the fear of pain and humiliation. He trusted Ryo. He trusted Ryo with his life. He would give up his own life for Ryo. There was no reason why he could not trust Ryo by giving of himself what they both wanted. He found himself silently repeating just that, telling himself there was nothing to fear.

He continued to watch, unconsciously his tongue licking his suddenly dried lips, as Ryo got on his knees, opening Dee's legs and scooted closer. Dee had to close his eyes for a moment, gathering his wits, willing his nerves to stay steady. When he opened them, it was in time to watch Ryo lower his head to take his limp manhood into his mouth. Ryo set the lube aside.

Dee's breath caught at the familiar picture. It was not the first time Ryo gave him head. His breath came out in a long low hiss. Soon he felt himself responding to Ryo's skilled lips and tongue until he was moaning. He was hard and ready again. Ryo's mouth took him just before the point of going over. When he lifted his head, Dee nearly screamed in frustration. A whimper came out instead as he raised his hips and bucked, wanting the sweet moist contact again, taking him to completion.

Ryo picked up the lube again, smiling gently at Dee, their eyes meeting. His hands were covered with the lube and started to gently stroke Dee's shaft.

`Oh dear God,' Dee's mind cried out. `He's not!' Dee was not sure if he was more relieved or frustrated.

Ryo took one of Dee's hands and spread the lube over his fingers. He straddled Dee again, pulling him up. Lips near Dee's ear now, he said softly, “We needed you back up to finish this.”

He moved Dee's greased hand behind him and Dee's fingers went on automatic pilot.

They went back to the familiar and comfortable as he prepped Ryo. He was back where he was confident of himself and his ability. Dee lifted Ryo's hips and Ryo pushed himself up to slide down onto Dee's shaft. The least Dee could do was give his loved one more control. Ryo's weeping erection slapped against Dee's taunt stomach and one of his hands reached out automatically to help Ryo.

Ryo's hands dug into his back as he took all of Dee's length. Dee smiled and moved his hips to get that small amount more, which caused him to strike against the spot that made Ryo cry out in ecstasy. He watched as his lover's head fell back, his eyes shutting tightly. He bit his lip. His eyes opened, dark orbs engulfed with passion's flames. He moved his hips slightly. “GOD, DEE!” Ryo cried out.

Dee leaned over to catch Ryo's mouth, kissing him deeply until he moved his hips to pull out. Ryo clenched the ring of muscles surrounding Dee, which made him moan, breaking the kiss.

“This ride's yours, baby,” Dee whispered. “Bring us home.”

Ryo's dark, passion-glazed eyes met his. Dee nodded his head, releasing his control for the first time to the man he loved. It was his first step toward finally being able to offer without reservation what he knew Ryo wanted. He had no doubt about that now. He had to admit he wanted it too. He just had to lose some excess baggage it had been past time to release.

Ryo set their rhythm and Dee found himself easily falling into it.

“So good,” Ryo sighed, before letting out a moan. He cried out when Dee's talented fingers still working the hard shaft between them did something Ryo particularly liked. Ryo bent his head to lick Dee's lips, which opened, inviting his tongue in. It pillaged his mouth before breaking the kiss to let out a moan. His mouth trailed down Dee's neck, hands moving, fingers setting Dee's body on fire.

“Damn, you're so hot,” Ryo sighed into his ear before his tongue pummeled the sensitive cavern.

“Ryo,” Dee murmured. “Ryo….” he repeated again and again as he felt that familiar feeling spread out from his stomach, over his groin and continued to consume him in the conflagration he named Ryo.

“Go… na….” Ryo stiffened before convulsing. He came with a yell, before clamping his teeth into Dee's shoulder. Milky white fluid continued to spurt, covering sweaty stomachs, thighs and Dee's hand. Ryo had clenched his ring of muscles so tight, Dee whimpered. It was enough to set him off. Sticky hands released the shaft still quivering between them to grasp Ryo by his hips and drive in hard. Ryo shuddered again, moaning. Dee's mouth opened and cried out Ryo's name as the universe exploded on him. Behind closed eyes, he saw white flashes. Ryo's name was the last coherent thought he had. Everything seemed to cease for him, except Ryo and their love. He slipped off into a pool of pleasure.

Ryo was the first one to open his eyes. He realized Dee had fallen back, taking him with him. Now he slumped heavily atop his lover. Dee was sprawled out beneath him, eyes still closed and a smile on his face.

He could not help but softly kiss the swollen full lips. Dee had a beautiful mouth. A sensual mouth. A mouth that was more telling of his lover's emotions than any other mouth. That mouth told Ryo of deep contentment and bliss.

Green eyes fluttered open with a soft moan and that mouth lazily returned the kiss. Ryo slid off Dee to lie alongside him, arms going around the other to hold close. They both closed their eyes again.

“Love you, Ryo,” Dee murmured softly.

“Love you too,” Ryo replied, melting into Dee's embrace, and allowing sleep to take him.

-- -- -- -- --

Once again, Ryo opened his eyes first. Those eyes settled on his watch. With a start, he jumped up, shaking Dee. “Shit! Dee! Get up!”

“Wha?” Dee tried to bury himself further into Ryo, refusing to wake up.

“Work. Diana.” Ryo started to pry himself from Dee.

Dee rubbed bleary eyes. “Hmmm?”

“It's 6:45,” Ryo urged. “We need to be at the apartment on Morton by seven.”

That got Dee to sit up. He looked over to Ryo. “You shower first and I'll call Diana and tell her we're running a little late.”

Ryo nodded, knowing they would not be saving time showering together if they gave into temptation. And temptation around Dee was very strong lately. He stood up and headed toward the bathroom as Dee reached for the cordless sitting among the files on the coffee table.

Dee sat on a bench in the small park at Sheridan Square. He lit a cigarette as Ryo stood before him. Nearby, some men were talking about the three men who had died in the last 24 hours.

Dee and Ryo, along with Diana, agreed with the other teams. They were going to have to get through several levels of buyers until they uncovered the origin of distribution. The team in Los Angeles had some street level names. They had bought the drugs as an enhancer. Where they obtained the drugs from bought the LA team to a deal halt.

The Chicago team had ID'ed a level supplier, but with no further leads, except for one of their suspects showing up on the victim list when he used the deadly drug himself.

So far Dee and Ryo had not seen their main suspect that night. They learned nothing new while listening and the men talking decided to move on to a bar with a backroom for some action. This, from what they said, included getting high.

Dee muttered irritably as the men left the park. When Ryo moved closer to him, he heard Dee say, “If the damn poppers are killing them, why are those fools looking to take a chance?”

Ryo shook his head, not understanding why himself. He scooted closer to Dee, placing his arms around him and asked, “Dee, what's a backroom?”

Dee blinked at Ryo's question, then grinned slyly. “Some of the bars have rooms for…ah, free action.”

“Free action? You can take a room out?”

Dee was grinning like a devil, knowing the shock his new and naïve to the scene partner would show upon his reply. “No. Not take out a private room. Go into one dark room and find a space is more like it. It's mostly for singles looking for very casual sex.”

Ryo's mouth dropped. Dee laughed. When Ryo looked sharply at Dee in suspicion, Dee held his hands out defensively. “I never,” he admitted. “That was a bit too casual for me. But I had friends who would talk about it. If you want someone to give you more explicit detail, go ask JJ.”

He watched as Ryo let out a relieved breath at his admission of never going into one and then looked shocked as he mentioned JJ. He moved Ryo closer so he could capture his lover's mouth for a kiss. “Thanks to you, baby, I can't conceive of any type of casual sex anymore. Not after experiencing what I have with you. It'll always be you. Just you.”

Ryo's smile was beautiful before his lover captured his mouth. They decided to indulge in a few minutes of exploring each others' hungry mouths. They pulled away with a start when they heard a cough, very close behind them. They turned toward the sound to find Diana.

“Glad to see you're enjoying yourselves,” she laughed, then walked away with a wink.

Dee shook his head. “Crazy woman.”

Ryo smiled a little. “Keeping us out of trouble, I guess.”

“Whelp,” Dee said with a laugh, giving Ryo a hug before jumping down from the bench. “Where to next?”

“Let's see if our boys are at the pier,” Ryo suggested.

“Okay. I understand needing to see if they're about and checking what they are up to, but if they start following us again, and we can't get away, I'm not certain we want that much proof.”

“You're right. Another bar then, and we'll think on that,” Ryo replied matter-of-factly.

Dee nodded in agreement. “Maybe we'll come across our other friend.”
