(Chapter 2. I wrote this chapter after seeing The Lord of The Rings. I love the movie, and the elf (I forgot his name) in spandex (looks like robin hood Xx *melt*) is very cute I think. And I never think anybody's cute! I even considered making everyone elves in the story *holds it back* But It's already decided Xx

'Why am I even going after her...damned woman...'
Diablos's thoughts argued with each other as he pushed through people being completely soaked to the bone. He slid into a alley and leaned against one of the walls. He took a deep breathe and sighed.
"Where the hell can she be?!"
"Where can who be.....?"
Saria stepped out from the shadows.
"Don't think I can make it on my own do you?"
"No I really don't, I don't think princesses have much of outside skills"
"Oh really?"
"Really.."
She walked closer to him. The look on her face purely expressing she was very angry with him. Her eyes narrowed.
"And you can do better?!"
"Most likley.."
"Care to teach me then Sir Know-it-all?"
A lopsided smile spread across his face showing tony fangs but clearly not vampire vangs.
"Maybe"
She sighed releasing her anger. She smiled slightly too looking at him.
He looked at her as if he were a hawk
"You should do that more often"
"Do what...?"
"Smile!"
"Uh....oh...."
Saria blushed slightly. She couldn't help but think why he was acting so unhappy before....but now he's happy....he's didn't look like he could express such an attitude like that when they were dancing....but I feel...so.........
"You alright?"
Saria snapped out of her thoughts. He had his hand on her shoulder. He smile wasn't there anymore. He look genuinely worried.
"Yeah..I just don't feel so good....."
"You don't look so good either...don't you know you're not supposed to be running around in the rain?"
"uh..............."
Saria collapsed as soon as the sentece he said was finished.
"Saria?!......."
He picked her up....'Guess I better take her back to the castle..' he started running back.He arrived at the castle. He jumped up to the of the windows and glanced in. Fulls of paintings and chairs and tables.
'Not her room......'
Obviously possessing some odd abbilities he jumped from that windowsill to the windowsill above.
"Dammit I'm not going to keep doing this..."
He opened the window and jumped in. He looked down at Saria being half consious.
"Wheres you room?"
She looked around the room lazily. And pointed to a door to his left. He walked through the door. Inside the room was a large vanity mirror with many items for her hair and a closet, dresser, and a bed. The window was next to her bed. Several pillows lined up against the windowsill and curtian draping over them.
He laid he down the the bed placing some pillows underneath her head. He kissed her forehead and smiled.
"Feel better"
"....heh........."
She fell asleep. He opened her window and crouched on the windowsill. He dug into his pocket and pulled out a gold pocket watch he has since he could remember in his hand. He pulled out a piece of paper and leaned over and grabbed a quill and ink from her night stand and wrote on it.
He folded up the letter and opened the watch. He place the letter inside and placed in her hand. After that he slid out the window keeping grasp on the edge and closed the window and jumped down and out of sight.Only thing he forgot was Tillan
Morning the next day...
Saria woke up rubbing her eyes. 'Was it a dream?' she asked herself. She held her hand up and opened it. In her palm rested a pocket watch, with a corner of foled paper sticking out.
"or was it....."
She opened it and read the letter
Saria,
I want you to have this. Don't ask questions just take it. It would be better in your hands. It plays a melody if you wind it up inside. I was never someone for that kind of thing. Feel better. And next time you go out. Be a little more sensible about weather.
D
"It wasn't...."
She wound up a tiny button as a soft melody played that almost seemed to make her heache go away. She sat infront of her vanity the melody still playing. She was completely dry by now but her hair was a mess. She brushed it into pigtails and mad two large loops in the back with it.As the melody stopped she could he large clomping foot steps towards her door as if planned by fate. Then she remembered what she feared from last night....
Her door slammed open with a bang.
"So my wench returned eh? I thought you would have been smart and run away....well dear...Your time has come, I was cosidering this moment since you father is getting so dearly old, I am so close to assuming the damned throne I can taste it...I'll kill you and your father, and assume the throne. The whole ordeal will be so shocking, and my acting will be so poignant so I'll blame it on some poor commoner and become ruler of this country!"
Tillan snapped and laughed with a smirk on his face. She grabbed the watch without him knowing and hid in the corner trembling and shaking because she knew he would do it.
"Don't.....Don't come near me!!"
"Haha...what a pathetic last grasp at life."
He grabbed her arm and dragged her out of her room and down to the dugeon cuffing her hands together above her head.
"Too bad Princess....what was you name...I don't even remeber! Hahahaha!"
Tillan laughed walking out of the dungeon. His laughter echoed through the dark stony corridoors. She sunk her head knowing her last days would be here. Only one window with bars across it was her light. But even so it was a good 30 feet above her head. She tried moving her wrists arounf in the tight rusty shackles but it only cut her writsts up, sending blood trails down her arm and staining the velvet. Silent tear streaked down her face. How cruel life has treated her...but she deserved it didn't she...? Didn't she? Did she not deserve the ultimate price for what she has done? what has she done?
She convinced herself to stop crying, and began to sing the melody from the pocket watch only making her more sad than she actually was.
Diablos walked around town thinking about last night. How she had gotten sick, the dance, and him......Fuck! How could i have been so naive?! I have sent her back to some where she'll be punished damn it all to hell! He ran as fast as he could hoping, just hoping he wasn't to late.
She could hear chuckling and the sharpening of a weapon be kept on singing. She felt if she gave up she'd give up on life itself. She wanted to see Diablos again. She wanted to know what it really meant to live. Not to stay in a castle he whole life. But her life would stop in a short while.
Diablos reached the castle when heard singing. His expression changed to one of confusion.
"..That's...A Tale's Last Requiem!"
(Author's Note: He named the song that, it'll be explained later on.)
He ran faster knowing the only other person who could even have known the song. He crashed into a window where the music could be hear the loudest. He ran down stairs slamming into things.
"What the hell?!"
Peoples voices seemed to echoe as he ran past them. He reached a lit room in the dungeon. A large axe in the hand on a masqued man. And there was Tillan. He pull out the sword he hid behind his coat and slammed it through the masked man's heart and into a wall.
"My,my....what do we have here? A stitched up doll perhaps? Maybe I shoudl kill this doll also?"
Diablos pulled his sword out the of the wall letting the man drop to the ground.
"Let her go"
"Now, where's the fun in just letting her go?"
"Let her go"
"No I think I won't"
Tillan drew his sword. He drew smirk on his face.
"This will be fast. 2 ugly ducklings with one sword!"
Diablos growled and aim his sword at him.
"Ready when you are ......"
Diablos snapped ready to kill him. Tillan gripped his sword and ran at him. Diablos moved out of the way only managing to get the sleeve of his jacket cut.
"Lucky.."
Diablos held his sword out and charged at him cutting his shoulder. Tillan ran back at him. Their sword now locked together casting sparks.
Tillan to a step forward.
"Bad move!"
Diablos smirked slipping his foot behing his. Tillan looked at him not relized what he had fallen for.
"Oh really?!"
Diablos tripped him and the figure hit the groud with a thud.He raised his sword to stab him but Tillan jumped up and jabbed a dagger in his shoulder. Diablos mouth gritted with agony but he returned it slashing upwards from the ground. From navel to nose. Tillan stepped backwards and fell. He pick up the sharp axe to cut the chains Saria hung from and then picked the locks of the rusty shackles.
"How did you know where I was?"
"A Tale's Last Requiem"
Diablos replied wrapping her wrists up to prevent more blood from coming out. Saria dragged fingers to the dagger handle that stuck out of his shoulder as he flintched.
"Sorry....what 'The Tale's Last Requiem'?"
"....That melody you were singing from the watch..."
Diablos gritted his teeth againas he yanked the dagger out of his shoulder.
"Damn.."
"C'mon you baby"
Saria motioned for him to get but had to help him up and back up to her room.
"Okay, now let me see the wound"
"Who are you my mother?"
"Oh shutup and do as I say alright?"
"Yes mother"
Saria growled but he laughed wincing though nobody could see. And began to unbutton the large collar of his tench coat and slipped it over his shoulder. She put ointment on the wound making it very hard for him to cry out in pain but she could tell.
"You know, it'll heal faster with this"
"But it hurts more"
"So? Don't a be a baby"
"Im not a baby"
"Sure"
Saria finished it up and bandaged it up.
"Well you saved my life Mr. Hero. Thank you"
"No problem"
She yawned.
"Long day. There's another dance tomorrow night, are you going?"
Diablos looked out her window.
"Maybe"
"I think you say that word too much."
"Is that bad?"
Saria sat infront of him fiddling with a seam of a pillow.
"Yes because then when your older your vocabulary will revolve around one word!"
"Maybe"
"See there ya go!!"
Saria smirked and threw the pillow at his face. But it was intercepted and he threw it back at her.
"Pillow Fight!"
Saria yelled and started throwing pillows at him knocking her hair ties out. In the end they were in a pile of feathers and pillows. She had fallen asleep once again. He left her in the piles of pillows so seemingly comfortable looking for her. He sat at her windowsill again. He didn't know what to think. He really didn't know what to do at this point. He knew eventually something would happen to her. Two deaths wouldn't go unseen, especially that of a prince...he dare think of the man. Something would happend. The though in his mind told him so.
(That's all for Chapter 2. You'll find out soon the crappy reason why he named that the A Tales Last Requiem when the time comes. Happy Holidays and A happy New Year!
